Chapter 2

"OMGosh, this is terrible!" Leni/Freakarella called out as the Loud family continued to observe what was being displayed by the news.

Lori nodded in agreement. "Vandalism literally is a petty crime, but you can't deny that it's just as damaging to the art it touches as just flat out damaging."

"Well, yeah, but that's, like, not what I meant," Leni said with a frown, pointing to the screen as she did. "That rouge with that eyeshadow?! The Mona Lisa is totes a Winter, for crying out loud!" Needless to say, everyone in the room facepalmed at the fashionista's skewed priorities. "Look, let's worry about whether the makeup works for those art pieces after we find out what happened." Lily/Freakabolt remarked with a deadpan expression.

"Wait, what?" Lana/Freakazelle couldn't help but ask. "Don't get me wrong: I'm just as upset by this defacing as anyone, but it's just some vandalism. I feel like the police can handle this."

"Which is precisely why we're going," Lily declared. "A low level threat like this will help the police get used to us without us needing to interfere too much."

"Might as well," Lynn/Jade said with a shrug. "If we catch the vandil, I can work out some of the stress I'm feeling from having to wear this ridiculous outfit."

"Dude, just let it be," Luna/Livewire deadpanned. "We got things to worry about besides your dislike of your own costume."

"Yeah, there's no need to have a fit." Luan called out, briefly letting out a laugh as she did. "But seriously, could Lori and I maybe tag along with you? I want to see if I can become Kewl Breeze again."

"I'm literally not sure if I want to become hot-headed Volcana again," Lori said with a frown, "but I suppose I can at least give Luan a ride to the museum if she'd going to insist on going."

"Sounds like a plan," Lola declared before looking towards her sisters. "Are you guys ready?"

Luna smiled in reply. "Let's get freaky."

Meanwhile, Lynn/Jade - briefly looking down at her costume - could only give a helpless shrug. "Well, I might as well make use of these powers while I have the opportunity. Who knows? Maybe this transformation will wear off after all of this is over."

"You do realize that if you don't like those powers, you could just return to normal by saying 'Freak in,' right?" Lincoln couldn't help but ask with a raised eyebrow.

"True," Lynn/Jade said with a slight nod, "but I pay enough attention to those comics you're so obsessed with to know that would be a temporarily solution, i.e. I'd just be stuck like this all over again if I ever said that I was going to freak out."

"Touche." the lone boy of the Loud siblings remarked. "But who knows: maybe you'll wind up accepting those powers and the outfit that comes with them."

The family athlete simply snorted in reply. "If that happens, I'll eat a pair of your underwear."

Meanwhile at the scene of the crime, the police were going over everything with a fine toothed cone, but couldn't make any progress. "Problems officers?" a new voice called out.

"Who are you supposed to be?" one of the policemen called out, having already spotted the group of colorfully outfitted individuals..

"We don't have an official name for our group just yet," Lola/Freakazette declared as she stood beside her sisters, Luan and Lori seemingly going off to act like regular civilians for the time being as she did. "Just know that we're here to help."

"Yeah, well, you can help by keeping your distance." the same policeman declared. "Just because you girls look like superheroes doesn't necessarily mean you are the genuine articles, after all."

"Geez, this makeup is rather nasty," one of the custodians trying to clean up the exhibits declared. "Funny how it reminds me of that stuff that used to be on the shelves over three years ago."

Leni/Freakarella frowned as she heard that, approaching one of the disfigured statues and running her hand along the makeup on the face. She then gasped. "Lo...er, Freakazette! This is Madame M's makeup!"

"What?! Are you sure?" Lola/Freakazette called out in shock.

"It's been three years, but I recognize this sort of texture anywhere," the eldest Freakasister remarked.

"Who could have done this?!" Lori suddenly called, seeing that her favorite statue[a] had been messed with.

"Aw, come on, it's just makeup, it'll wash off" Lana/Freakazelle declared. "At least this guy isn't doing anything else, right?"

As if on cue, a new voice gave a dark laugh and zoomed by, the source of the voice creating a brightly colored streak on the ground as she zoomed past the tomboy, getting everyone to gasp in shock soon afterwards.

"What? Do I have something on my face?" Lana/Freakazelle couldn't help but ask.

"Uh, it's nothing," Lily/Freakabolt called out. "Just don't look in the mirror!"

Lana/Freakazelle blinked in confusion before looking towards where she knew there was a mirror that was part of an art piece that the museum had on display from her family's previous visits to the site. "Why? What could be so bad about…?" ...and that was as far as she got before she let out a shocked yell, seeing how she had the same oversized red lips, heavy mascara and purple eyeliner, and visible blush on the cheeks as the paintings and statues.

"I told you not to look in the mirror!" Lily/Freakabolt couldn't help but groan out.

"Alright, that tears it!" Lana/Freakazelle called out. "Come out and face us, you coward!"

"If you insist," the voice declared as she appeared before them, revealing a figure with blonde hair with purple highlights, pink skin, bright blotchy red lipstick and purple eyeshadow, no ears and a shrunken nose, and a pink jumpsuit with black gloves.

"We know what you did in the dark, so why don't you tell us who you are!" Luna/Livewire demanded.

"Call me...Mask Scara!" the figure declared.
