"So, you've finally found me…" Demondo said.
"You weren't very far away from us. Also, we just discovered that you have been reviving the dead and turning them into demons," Vincent told him.
"Yes, I sent them after you once I found out you went looking for me. Those demons are all a part of my plan."
"What exactly is this 'plan' of yours?" Asamad asked.
Demondo turned around and looked at him for a moment.
"To haunt and rule the world. Something you failed to do all those years ago. For you have become so deplorable that you ended up where you are today!"
"I've moved on way past that long ago. Oh, and the last time you saw most of this gang, you trapped them in a comic strip. That is what's deplorable! What demon needs a comic strip to trap mortals?" the red ghost shot back. "Let's not forget, you also needed a pen to actually trap them within the comic strips-"
"I do not care about that anymore!" the green ghost interrupted. "While I was locked in the chest the past few years, my powers have grown even more, to a state where I can revive the dead and turn them into demons. Now, I have no need for that pen or for a comic strip anymore. I can easily rule the world now with my powerful demonic army."
"Yeah, the same demonic army that we just defeated on our way here," Flim Flam scoffed.
Demondo gave him a cold, dead stare, forcing him to look away in fear.
"That wasn't even half of my army," he corrected. "For you have truly not seen what they, or I, can fully do yet."
"Doesn't matter, you'll never win against us," Asamad told him.
The ghost just ignored him and turned around, teleporting out, leaving the gang there by themselves.
"You know, now that I think about it, his powers of trapping us in a comic strip were pretty similar to Zomba trapping us in a movie," Shaggy commented. "Since they both trapped us in pieces of media that had been brought to life."
"Rhat's true," Scooby agreed.
"Yes, that is a fair point. In fact, I was just about to mention that before he interrupted me," Asamad admitted.
"Well, he'll definitely send more of his demons after us soon, so we should probably get going before they get here," Velma suggested.
Everyone nodded, and they all walked together, searching for their way out of the hill.
Meanwhile, Vincent still had the thought of getting Christmas presents for the others on his mind, and he just couldn't ignore it.
He caught up with Daphne now.
"Hi Vincent," she smiled.
"Hello," he smiled back. "I was wondering if, well, there is anything you want for Christmas from me."
She looked at him for a moment, not exactly sure of what to say.
"Wow, that's very kind of you to consider getting something for me. But, I don't really need anything from you. You let the others and I move into your castle, basically just adopted us as your own kids, and helped us out on our ghost hunts. I see no reason to ask you for anything when you've already done more than enough."
Vincent smiled again and nodded in response.
"Well, I just feel that you and the others deserve a present from me after all that we've been through together," he told her.
"I'm glad you feel that way. Thank you so much, but I just don't feel like I need a present from you," she replied.
"Of course."
Daphne then turned over and started speaking to Asamad.
"You didn't tell him, did you?" she whispered.
"What his present is? No. I kept that a secret like you told me to. I only told him that we all got him a present," he explained to her.
"Okay good, because he just suddenly asked me if I wanted any presents."
"Well, once he found out that we got him a gift, he probably wanted to give gifts to us in return. But man, I can't wait for his reaction on Christmas morning when he finds out we made him a framed collage of photos from when we first met him to now!" Shaggy said eagerly.
"Shaggy!" Daphne exclaimed.
"Don't say what it is while we're around Vincent," Jayden whispered.
"We're trying to keep that on the down low, remember?" Flim Flam reminded him.
"Oh right, sorry guys," Shaggy sheepishly smiled.
"It's fine, just try to be more careful," Cheryl told him.
Vincent stopped and turned back to everyone, with a confused look on his face.
"What are all of you discussing?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Also, why are you whispering?"
"Um, rothing. Ron't worry about rit," Scooby responded.
"It's not important right now," Velma assured him.
"Alright, if you say so…" the warlock said.
He then faced forward and kept walking as everyone went back to talking.
"Phew, rhat was close," Scooby sighed in relief.
"A little too close," Cheryl commented. "Anyways, so Daphne, you said before that he asked you if you wanted any presents?"
"Yeah, he says that he feels like we deserve presents from him after all that we've been through together," Daphne stated.
"Awww, did you tell him what you wanted?"
"No. I don't want anything from him. I told him that he's already done more than enough for me and the rest of us."
"To be honest, you're right. Plus, spending the holidays with him is a gift within itself," Jayden added.
"He'll probably ask the rest of you if you want anything soon. He already asked me, and I told him no, because almost everything I wanted this year already happened," Asamad told them.
"If he asks me, I'll also say no. I know I used to ask him for gifts when I was younger," Flim Flam recalled. "But now, I don't want or need anything else either."
Everyone else immediately nodded and whispered in agreement right before they finally made their way out of the hill.
Small note: The title of the chapter is a lyric from the song "Things That Go Bump In The Night" by AllStars. The song even mentions Scooby Doo at one point, so I felt that it was perfect.
