Hello, everyone. Your girl's back to write another story for you all. Power Loader has noticed that our baby has issues thanks to a certain eraser hero in the last chapter. Now, he's currently hanging out with a few of his classmates. I don't own the canon characters as they rightfully belong to their owners while I only own my OCS.
In the pizza place that Mei talked about earlier, Izuku and their classmates seat at a round booth while beginning to discuss Mei's new invention. Apparently, it was a suit that was built for someone with an air-based Quirk. Izuku wasted no time analyzing the suit in its potential for the future. Muttering to himself as he thought about making sure that the suit could use for fighting both on the ground and in the air.
"If the Pro Hero's Quirk makes it difficult for the user to fight in battles, perhaps adding some weights to it while not adding too much to it. Like if the hero has a problem controlling it when using it, like if the Quirk itself causes its user to weigh a lot lighter than a normal person should. But we should first work on how the Quirk works and see if there's more we should do before making any unnecessary items to the suit," Izuku mutter while looking over Mei's suit and took notes.
The others look at him impressively and in amazement. As the only Quirkless kid in Class 1-H (and possibly all of U.A.), Izuku is clearly shown to be hard-working when it comes to Quirks. Makes sense since he has to work twice as hard to keep with the rest of the class.
Mei eats her slice of pizza as she watches Izuku keeping more into the suit than she did. Somehow, she had found her match... platonically of course.
The green-haired boy barely notices his slice of pizza while keeping his eyes on the design of the suit. He thought of many ways to make it the most suitable outfit for flying Pro Heroes to wear during villain attacks.
"The suit should also be useful during bad weather too. Like fighting in the rain, snow, tornados, or even flying into smoke made by fire. There can't be too much weight either since the hero also needs to take civilians to safety if the ground may be too unstable for transport for the more grounded heroes," Izuku said to himself while looking over again and kept writing everything down.
"Midoriya, your pizza is gonna get cold, man. You might want to eat before my hands take it on their own," Akito said half-teasing to his classmate.
"Huh? Oh. Sorry about that, everyone," Izuku said before he stops writing and quickly took a bite to his slice.
The green-haired boy hopes that his classmates aren't bothered by him now. He had never hung out with his old classmates since Kacchan since the only person he has recently been hanging out with is Shuichi, who's older than him and still has his schedule to have than always seeing a little kid like him.
"Wow! Midoriya-san, you're really amazing with Quirk Analysis," Mei said, looking over his notes.
"You... you don't have to look over them, Hatsume-san. They may not be so useful even when I'm looking over them," Izuku said blushing in embarrassment.
"Come on. Those notes are actually not bad. You point what this baby needs during any kind of weather. Not a lot of flying heroes go out in the rain since it kind of messes with their Quirks," Mei said smiling.
"Not to mention, some of these guys can't control their flying if the wind is too strong for them. So, having something that keeps their balance in check while kicking ass is a good way to help people," Junko said to him.
The black-haired girl seems to be more alive than she was in class. Izuku remembers that she sounded bored when she first introduced herself to the rest of the class.
"I bet you were pretty popular back in middle school, man. A guy with your talent must have the greatest luck with the ladies. Haha!" Akito said, unwell that it was far from that for Izuku at his old school.
Hearing his orange-haired classmate said that, Izuku stop eating his pizza. He knows that Akito didn't mean to be insensitive since the latter has no idea about his former school life before coming to U.A. High. But it still hurts to be reminded how much no one in his middle school would have given a damn if he had broken his arm by accident. In his elementary school, the other kids didn't really bother with him since they didn't want to hang out with a Quirkless kid. But being ignored by the other kids like that hurt just as much as getting physically beaten by them.
"Midoriya-kun, are you okay? Why are you crying again?" Chiyo asks.
"Huh?" Midoriya realizes that tears were raining down his cheeks as usual with his classmates looking at him with concernedness. He quickly wiped them since he was now sure that his classmates will think of him as a crybaby. However, Fujio offers a few of the napkins to Izuku to wiped his tears away instead.
"I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't cry like this in front of any of you. I understand if you all now hate being seen with a Quirkless crybaby," Izuku said as few more tears came down.
Akito quickly felt awful for saying something that had offended Izuku. He knows that Quirkless people face discrimination every day since society values only those with strong Quirks. Not that Akito agrees with that statement and knows that it's wrong to value people like that.
"Hey, man. I'm sorry if I upset you. I should have think before I said anything," Akito said seriously.
"It's fine, Endo-san. You didn't know," Izuku said.
"He's so smart, and yet he thinks so little of himself," Mei thought as Chiyo and Fujio give him his drink to make him feel better.
Looking at the other customers, Izuku felt that he was also ruining their evening by crying in public shamelessly. Even though everyone else wasn't looking at his way, Izuku knew that they might complain to the workers about a Quirkless kid ruining their dinner while crying for no reason.
"I should go now. My neighbors will probably be worried about me by now if I'm late," Izuku said as Junko got up to let him leave.
The green-haired boy had completely forgotten his notes, leaving them on the table for his classmates to see. Walking towards the glass front doors, Izuku saw that the sun was setting on its beautiful horizon. The tiny boy knew that he needed to catch his train before it leaves without him. However, before he could even touch the handle, Mei was running up to him before he could leave the restaurant.
"Midoriya-san, hold on," The pink-haired girl said as she caught up.
"Hatsume-san?" Izuku stated in confusedness.
"I was wondering if you would show me some of your notes in your Quirk notebook tomorrow, that's if you like to share," She said to him.
Izuku felt his world stop for a second. Another person was showing interest in his Quirk Analysis notebook. Tomura and Power Loader-sensei were the only two people up till now that ever thought of his analyzing notebook was amazing. But Mei was now becoming the third person that showed interest in his silly hobby. She is even the first person around his age that ever showed interest in him instead of Kacchan.
"Sure," Izuku said quietly while avoiding eye contact with the pink-haired girl.
Thanks for reading the chapter, everyone. Izuku is somewhat getting out of his shell. Mei is seeing how smart our baby is, but he thinks so little of himself regardless of how he manages to create ways of helping the heroes. Just wait until next chapter where Izuku will Tomura and Kurogiri about his first day.
