Hello, everyone. Your girl's back to update another chapter for you all. So sorry for the long wait. I've been lazy lately, but thank you all so much for your patience. We're getting closer to the U.S.J. Incident, while Class 1-H would be busy taking their test and not knowing that their peers are being in serious danger. Number 16 is named Tomu, after Tomura Shigaraki. Reading the current manga, I don't know what else to say, other than I love you all. I don't own the canon characters as they rightfully belong to their actual owners while I only own my OCs.
Warning: Panic attack in this chapter.
In the quietness of the school's library, Izuku read over his notes and books he borrowed. In two days, he and the rest of Class 1-H will have their test. Even though they're not being graded, he still wanted to prove to Power Loader that he's worthy of being at U.A. regardless of his Quirkless status. The green-haired boy spends hours on end just to make his test impressive enough to his teacher. He's not going to leave this school until he graduates.
"Some heroes have to wear gloves because their touch-based Quirks make it physically difficult for them to hold other people and objects. Other heroes have sight-based Quirks like Eraser Head or Hatsume-san, so they might need eye drops or specially made glasses. And finally, some heroes have Quirks that gives them super strength like All Might, but to control it is already hard since they have to be extremely gentle since they can seriously injure or kill people without any restrain," Izuku mutters to himself as he looks over everything he has with him.
It was just him during free time. Everyone else in class had decided to study with each other since they wanted to get to know each other a lot more. The green-haired boy didn't want to bother anyone, so he went to the library by himself while his classmates didn't notice he was gone.
Not that Izuku mind. He's used to his peers not noticing him gone, especially since he often overhears them talking about how things would be easier for them if he could just go away. To go unnoticed in school is something that comes with him.
While Izuku was sitting by himself at a table, his muttering did cause a few of the other students to be a little creeped out by this and move towards somewhere else instead of asking the green-haired boy to stop. Izuku was just too focused on his studies that he didn't notice that some of his schoolmates had moved to the other side of the library to study in quiet.
"And if I add some water in the elbow area, then the hero can have more water during an emergency," Izuku whispers as quietly as possible.
The green-haired boy went on and on talking to himself that he didn't even notice that he was basically by himself at this point on the left side of the library.
Izuku checks his phone to see the time. 12 more minutes until class start again. Deciding that it was time to stop and take a break, Izuku gather his stuff and place them in his yellow schoolbag before finally exiting the library. The green-haired boy look through the hallway cautiously in case Kacchan was nearby. Remembering how they met on the first day of U.A., Izuku didn't want to run into his childhood friend again for a while. Out of fear that his former best friend is still angry at him for getting him in trouble with the teachers.
"Hey, isn't that the Quirkless kid from Class 1-H?" An upperclassman asks his friends as Izuku walked past them.
"Yeah. He's the kid that got picked on by that student who got in trouble the first day," One of his friends answered quietly.
Izuku could hear the other students talking about him as he walk past them. He was so used to this by now. People talk about him while he walks away from them. He didn't expect it to stop when he reached to U.A. anyway. Kacchan probably told his classmates that the reason he got in trouble was of him: Quirkless Izuku Midoriya. The only student in school who didn't have a Quirk, unlike the rest of the student body who at least have a superpower of their own regardless if it's considered to be weak to others.
"I really feel bad for him. It can't be easy to be Quirkless," Another said.
"Sensei said if we ever meet him, we need to be careful," A female student added.
"I never thought Quirkless people could go here too. I always thought they go to a special school for Quirkless to escape problems at other schools," Another girl says.
Izuku held onto his bag tighter. The whisper almost sounds like loud talking to him. It was almost like the other students didn't bother to keep their voices down.
"Of course, I'm here. Just because I'm not special as the rest of you, doesn't mean I earn my place like the rest of you. I know you think of me as someone who doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as you, but I'm here and I'm going anyway," Izuku thought before he quickly realize that he was holding onto his schoolbag a little too tight.
The other students' stares felt like the whole world was judging him again. No matter where he goes, Izuku will be seen as a loser who doesn't know his place in this society or someone who needed protection. Either way, he hates to be seen that way. He just wants to be an equal to someone.
"Hey! It's All Might-sensei!" The upperclassman from earlier excitedly says as he quickly walks past Izuku with his friends.
The Symbol of Peace had just entered the hallway and was quickly surrounded by the students of U.A. High. He simply chuckled as the students all eagerly wanted to ask him for an autograph. This was a dream come true for them. Having the Number 1 Hero teaching at your school was something every kid wanted.
"Alright, alright, students. One at a time now," All Might happily remark as he tried to keep the kids in order.
All the students look at All Might with stars in their eyes along with love and admiration towards the man.
Everyone...
Except for Izuku, who stayed behind.
The green-haired boy felt his entire body shaking and his insides began to tighten. After all these weeks, he was finally in close contact with All Might again, the very same man who used to be his hero and the one who crushed his dream.
The hallway was starting to feel small and the air around him was getting harder to breathe. Izuku tried to breathe in and out to calm himself. The praise of the other students made it difficult to stay calm, however. They told All Might how great he is and how he inspired them all to be great one day.
"You're awesome, Sensei!"
"I hope I might one day be as strong as you, All Might-sensei."
"You saved my grandmother from a villain once. We're forever grateful, Sensei."
Hot tears soon form in Izuku's eyes. He covered his ears, but the praise had managed to be heard despite Izuku's hands covering them.
"I don't think you can become a hero without a Quirk."
Izuku quickly left before All Might could even notice him. Too afraid that his former beloved hero will tell him something that he didn't want to hear. He walks fast as he could since he couldn't run. He needed to get to the restroom before he made a mess in the hallway.
"I'm going to have a good day today! I'm going to have a good day today! I'm going to have a good day today! I'm going to have a good day today! I'm going to have a good day today!" Izuku repeated his special words as he got to the boys' restroom.
Hurrying into the nearest stall, Izuku threw up in the toilet. Coughing up, the green-haired boy felt his tears were running down his cheeks. The poor tiny boy felt all his energy had left for the day and his body wanted to go back home and rest for the rest of the day. But Izuku couldn't miss out on class. He needed to keep going to prove he isn't some fragile kid. He was stronger than they thought.
Thank you all for reading this. Again, I'm so sorry for being lazy lately. Whenever I wanted to write a chapter, I get distracted. Feel free to tell how to tell me how do you feel about this chapter. I'm planning to have Izuku and Shoto's talk go differently here since things are different now.
