Chapter 15

The gunships took the surviving Jedi away from the arena. As the three transports travelled away from the cliffs, past a parked Acclamator Assault ship and into the Geonosis wasteland, they were joined by a fourth gunship as Anakin witnessed the start of a full-scale war.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In one of the other gunships, Master Yoda, Mace and Ki-Adi Mundi were talking about Dooku.

"If Dooku escapes," Yoda said as he tapped his gimmer stick on the floor of the gunship and turned to face the other two, "rally more systems to his cause, he will."

Mace looked as if he was about to say something, but then a red laser bolt flew past the open door of the gunship. As the three gunships moved around a tall rock formation, a few more red lasers were fired in their direction. Right behind the four gunships were three more that had been launched to help with the fight.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

As the gunships flew towards the Trade Federation starships that were parked along the rocky plains, the one that Anakin and Obi-Wan were in rocked a little bit because of the turbulence.

"Hold on," Obi-Wan told him as he held the spare ignited lightsaber in his left hand while holding onto the door with his right. He watched as Anakin moved to the back and grabbed on to one of the handholds.

One of the giant starships began to lift off from the surface as the gun placements on some of the transports began to fire at the remaining starships in an attempt to stop them from leaving. There was a bit of flak beginning to appear in the air as some of the Separatist ships began to return fire. Both Jedi could see that the Republic and Separatists forces on the ground were attacking one another, with no hint of mercy within them as they fought.

Anakin noticed a small weakness, mainly the energy holsters that were busy supplying power to the tall, cylindrical ships. "Aim right above the fuel cells!" He called out.

The gunship they were in rocked slightly as it launched two torpedoes at one of the enemy ships that dotted the ground. As the transport flew past the ship, Obi-Wan and Anakin saw the torpedoes slam into the middle of it. The resulting explosion caused the ship to fall down, flattening a few B1, B2 and dwarf spider droids as they ran away, trying to escape what was to be their first and last battle.

Obi-Wan looked out of the gunship, saw what had transpired and looked up at Anakin, a smile on his face. "That was a good call Anakin," he told him.

Anakin couldn't help but smile.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

On the ground, some of the other gunships who had gone to pick up some of the other survivors who had not been in the arena were touching down, letting the Jedi and their troops disembark before taking off again.

Above the Jedi and their troops, the three gunships that were carrying Anakin and the others flew across the plains, shooting down enemy droids and starships.

One of the gunships that was near the one that Mace, Yoda and Ki-Adi were in got hit by a laser, which caused it to explode, killing everyone who had been aboard it. The three Jedi were nearly knocked over in their own gunship as it was rocked by the force of the blast.

Mace leaned away from his spot by Ki-Adi Mundi and yelled, "Pilot! Land in that assembly area."

The clone turned his head and replied, "Yes sir."

The gunship soon landed on the ground where an Acclamator was busy offloading all its troops and vehicles that the clones would be using. Mace, Ki-Adi as well as Kit Fisto got off and jogged over to a few groups of clones that were waiting for them.

"Sir," One of the clones who had yellow paint on his armor said. "I have five special commando units that are waiting for you to give them their orders."

Mace nodded and had them follow him. Kit Fisto and Ki-Adi did the same with their units.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Back in the gunship, Yoda looked over to the pilot and said, "To the forward command center, take me."

The transport lifted off and Yoda watched with a heavy heart as the members of the Jedi Order, who had formerly been peacekeepers, were now forced to take part in a war that they had no business fighting in with the clones following their lead.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

On the ground, Mace and his fellow Jedi, along with their troops, bravely led their troops into battle against the massive army of droids and other machines that the Separatists had launched.

Jedi Master Kit Fisto raised his lightsaber over his shoulder. Behind the Jedi, one of his troops got hit in the chest area and died right there on the battlefield. Then the Nautolan Jedi deflected two laser blasts as they came flying at him. Right behind his unit was Aayla Secura, who was another Jedi, with her own unit of clone troopers.

The two gunships that had drooped them off prepared to head back into the sky and rejoin the air battle.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Back on the gunship that was carrying Anakin and Obi-Wan, the Knight suddenly spotted an enormous Trade Federation planetary landing ship starting to rise from the ground as the battle was drawing near its position.

"Attack that Federation starship, quickly! Do not let it leave the surface," Obi-Wan said, pointing to the ship.

The pilot complied and fired its torpedoes at the bulbous ship. Another gunship followed the one that Anakin and Obi-Wan were in and fired its torpedoes as well. Then both gunships broke off and veered in different directions just as the torpedoes crashed into it.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The transport that was carrying Master Yoda had at last reached the forward command center. It proceeded to hover a little off the ground as a ramp appeared to allow the Jedi Master to disembark.

"Master Yoda," The lead trooper said as he raised his right arm and pointed to the open field ahead of him, "All forward positions are advancing on the battlefield."

"Very good, very good," Master Yoda replied as he slowly made his way down the ramp.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

On the battlefield, an All-Terrain Tactical Enforcer was dropped off in the middle of the battle by a Low Altitude Assault Transport carrier. As the transport carrier flew off, the Separatists fired rockets at the Jedi and their troops. Another LA-AT carrier dropped off another AT-TE, but as soon as it flew off, the tank was immediately blown up by more rockets that were fired from the enemy.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Count Dooku, Nute Gunray, his lieutenant, Poggle the Lesser and the other members who made up the newly formed Separatist Council were in a huge room with a large circular viewscreen in the center and many other monitors lined around the room, where the Geonosian soldiers could monitor and direct the ongoing battle.

Everyone who was around the table watched as the Republic gunships targeted the Federation starships that were still anchored on the ground. Even though the ships on the ground could fire back, it wasn't going to be much help. Once those ships were in the air, they still wouldn't be able to do much as they were slow and heavy.

The Viceroy took one look at the scene before him and internally panicked. He knew that the Federation had approved of his plan, but only if they were able to keep their involvement a secret. Like the rest of the corporations that were going to be playing both sides of the war, they had vowed to do the same.

"This is not looking good at all," Gunray said.

"We must get our ships back into space," the other Neimoidian said, causing Gunray to turn to him and nod. As one they turned and walked out of the room without even bidding farewell to Dooku who had been standing right beside them.

Then Poggle said something in his native language which was made up of clicks, chirps, whistles and some words.

"My Master will not allow the Republic to get away with this treachery," Dooku responded.

Poggle said something else as he was now standing near a console that had the plans for their ultimate weapon stored in them. He reached over and pressed a few of the keys, downloading the schematics onto a cartridge. When it had finished downloading, he pulled the small device from the drive and walked over to the Count as he told him something in his language.

Dooku nodded and took the device from the Archduke. "I will take the designs with me," he said as he thumbed on the device and watched the small image slowly rotate. "They will be much safer in the hands of my Master on Coruscant." He switched off the device and with a curt bow, left the room.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Back on the battlefield, the Republic was managing to turn the tide in their favor. As two more enormous Trade Federation planetary landing ships were beginning to take off on the orders of the Viceroy and his lieutenant, Master Yoda spotted them and said, "Focus all your fire on the nearest starship."

"Yes sir," one of the clones replied. This particular clone had red paint on his armor. Then he turned around and told his men who were working the controls for the stun cannons, "All quadrants fire on sector five-one-five."

The men obeyed and fired their stun ships at the closest ship. It worked and soon the large round ship came crashing down to the dusty surface, creating a giant dust storm in which no one could see for a few minutes. The clones continued to fire, managing to take down a few more of the droids.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Obi-Wan and Anakin's gunship managed to make it through the dust storm. As their vision cleared, Obi-Wan spotted a speeder and two small ships guarding it as they fled into the canyons. "Look! Over there!" He called, pointing directly ahead of them.

Anakin looked in the same direction and knew immediately who it was. "Dooku," he said. "Follow that speeder!"

"Yes sir," the clone pilot acknowledged.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Count was unconcerned as he knew exactly who was chasing him. He pressed two buttons on his speeder and with a simple wave of his right hand, the two ships that were guarding him fell back to try and slow down the gunship.

As soon as the ships were in position, they opened fire, letting loose blast after blast that rocked the gunship. Both Anakin and Obi-Wan tightened their grips on their handholds as their pilot started to weave back and forth, avoiding most of the blasts. A huge blast rocked the ship as it was hit, but both of the Jedi managed to stay upright.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Over at the forward command center, Master Yoda narrowed his eyes after sensing a disturbance that he knew all too well. He suddenly knew where he needed to be.

The clone commander who stood beside Master Yoda finished surveying the battlefield and lowered a pair of electrobinoculars from his helmeted face and turned to look at the Grandmaster. "The Separatist droid army is in full retreat," he said.

"Very good Commander," Master Yoda said. "Bring me a ship."

The clone nodded and did as the Jedi had commanded.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dooku flew into an open hangar with Anakin and Obi-Wan's gunship right behind him. The pilot managed to land just in front of the entrance and both of the Jedi ignited their lightsabers and leapt out along with one of the clones. As soon as the gunship soared away from the landing, it was destroyed from the constant fire of the fighters as they swept past.

Dooku, who was standing at the back of the hangar near a pedestal, waved his hand and sent his personal droid on wheels rolling away as it headed for his ship which was all ready for him to escape in. Then he heard the sounds of approaching footsteps behind him. The Count stayed where he was, not even bothering to turn around as he knew that both Jedi had their lightsabers ignited and in their hands.

Obi-Wan and Anakin rounded the corner as they ran past the speeder bike that the Count had used to get to the hangar. Kenobi brought his lightsaber up into a mid-guard position and placed his other hand on the hilt, while Anakin kept his lazily at his side.

Dooku then turned around, his cape swishing behind him as he caught sight of the two Jedi. He didn't say anything, just stood there and watched as both Anakin and Obi-Wan moved to block his escape route.

Anakin seemed to glare at the man as he said, "You are going to pay for all the Jedi whom you killed in the arena today, Dooku." He took a deep breath and ignored the anger and rage that he felt as he remembered all the Jedi whose lives had perished in the arena where his own master had been sentenced to death. The young man could sense that Dooku wanted to play on his emotions and get him angry enough so that he would rush in and attack him head-on. Instead, he simply raised his blue lightsaber in front of him.

"We'll take him together Anakin," Obi-Wan calmly told him. "Go in slowly on the left." This way, Dooku wouldn't be able to predict their actions. The Knight knew that they only had one chance to capture Dooku and was not about to let Anakin jeopardize that.

Anakin nodded, making sure that the Count didn't see it and moved to the left. Obi-Wan stayed where he was, waiting until his younger brother got into position. Then, once they were ready, they both attacked Dooku.

Dooku stepped back, smoothly avoiding both attacks. Then he smiled dangerously and raised his left hand, shooting blue lightning from it.

Anakin was unprepared for the counterattack and wasn't able to raise his lightsaber in time to block it. The young man cried out in agony as the concentrated energy hit him and he went flying backwards into a wall. As he slumped to the ground, he could feel every nerve in his body hurting as if he had been lit on fire.

Dooku ceased his attack and turned his attention to Obi-Wan, who had begun to circle around the fallen Jedi while keeping his lightsaber in front of him. "As you can clearly see, my powers are far beyond yours," he told him as he shot another concentrated streak of force lightning at the Knight. "Stand down."

Obi-Wan caught the blue energy with his own saber, letting it get absorbed by the blue blade. "I don't think so," he answered. He knew that he needed to be careful as Dooku was obviously more powerful than either of them had anticipated.

The small smirk that had been on the Count's face disappeared as he pulled his own lightsaber free from his belt. Then he ignited it, revealing the red blade.

As Obi-Wan advanced towards the Sith apprentice, he twirled his blade twice and then placed his other hand on the hilt as he attacked. Dooku quickly and effortlessly moved his lightsaber to block the Knight's attacks. As he came at the older man from his right, Dooku held up his saber and clashed with Obi-Wan.

As they continued to trade blows, the Knight realized that the former Jedi was far faster and more experienced than he had expected him to be. As the Jedi moved to attack Dooku again, the Count managed to leap over the blade and circle around him.

"Master Kenobi, I'm disappointed in you," Dooku said in a taunting voice. "Master Yoda holds you in such high esteem." He watched as the Knight kept silent, refusing to let his taunts pull his attention off of him. Then Dooku attacked and ended up clashing with Obi-Wan again. "Surely you can do better than this!"

Obi-Wan broke the saber lock, whirled around and got into another saber lock with Dooku. That one was soon broken as well and the Knight ran around and leapt off the ramp that led up to the Count's personal ship.

Anakin softly moaned in the corner where he had been flung after being hit with force lightning.

Obi-Wan moved to attack Dooku again end ended up trading more lightsaber strikes between the two of them. He could sense Anakin slowly beginning to move in the corner and quickly brought his attention back to the fight between him and Dooku. The Knight pushed upwards on Dooku's blade, intending to break the saber lock that they found themselves in. What he didn't see was the Count's sadistic grin that was on his face. As the Knight pushed downwards on the red blade, he was caught off guard as Dooku's blade managed to catch him on his right shoulder and then his right thigh.

Obi-Wan's nerveless fingers dropped his borrowed lightsaber on the floor. It rolled away from him as he collapsed for the two strikes that Dooku had given him had effectively taken him out of the fight. As he lay on the floor, his right hand covering the wound on his thigh that hurt when the Knight moved his leg, he watched as Dooku slowly approached, swinging his saber from his left hand to his right and back to his left.

Anakin could feel his brother's pain and slowly opened his eyes to see that Dooku had raised his lightsaber above his head and was preparing to put Obi-Wan out of his misery. He activated his lightsaber and used the force to propel himself across the cavern and block the strike.

Obi-Wan, who had closed his eyes, thinking that he was about to become one with the force, opened them to see that Anakin had come to his rescue.

"That was brave of you young Skywalker," Dooku said as he pressed down on Anakin's saber, "but foolish as well." Neither of them noticed that Obi-Wan was summoning his borrowed saber to his outstretched hand. "I thought you would have learned your lesson."

Anakin merely grinned. "I am a slow learner," he responded as he broke the saber lock that he had been in. Then he heard Obi-Wan call his name and turned just in time to catch the borrowed lightsaber that the injured man threw his way. He ignited it and struck at the Count.

Even though Anakin had the advantage with two sabers, he had not practiced enough to master the art of dual-wielding. Dooku took advantage of this and quickly struck the second blade that Anakin held in his right hand, slicing the hilt in half and forcing the young man to drop the ruined saber.

The young Padawan still had his original saber and used it to slice through a power cable on the floor. Sparks shot out of the ruined cable and the lights in the hanger flickered as they went out.

As Obi-Wan continued to watch the fight, the only things that he saw were the forms of both his apprentice and the Sith lord.

Anakin tried to find an opening so he could attack Dooku, but couldn't. He searched and searched, but was unable to find one as Dooku's lightsaber technique was meticulous, graceful and refined.

The Count knew that the fight needed to end, so he could make his escape, so once he had the young man right where he wanted him, he lashed out with his saber, coming up underneath Anakin's right arm and severing it from his elbow, causing the padawan to lose his lightsaber in the process.

Anakin gave a mild cry of pain as Dooku took his right hand off of his saber hilt and force pushed the young man back towards where Obi-Wan lay on the ground.

The Knight gazed at his younger brother as his head rested on Obi-Wan's red boots.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dooku's expression faltered as he deactivated his lightsaber. Then he looked up as he heard the familiar sound of Master Yoda's gimmer stick echoing throughout the now silent hangar. He turned around to see the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order walking into the room. "Master Yoda," he said in a calm voice.

"Count Dooku," Master Yoda responded.

"I'm afraid that you have interfered with our plans for the last time," Dooku said as he raised his right hand and summoned a large unit, pulling it from its place on the wall. It sparked and groaned as the cables that it was attached to broke in half. Then he sent the object towards the Jedi Master.

Master Yoda dropped his gimmer stick as he lifted his left hand and used his own mastery of the force to toss away the unit and slam it into a nearby wall.

Dooku was not impressed and used the force to send another object at the Grandmaster, but again, Yoda used the force to catch the object and fling it away. The fallen Jedi seemed to get angry, although he didn't show it. Lifting both of his hands in the air, he used the force to bring down a section of the roof, hoping that it would be enough to crush the small Jedi Master who was standing before him.

Yoda managed to raise both of his hands in the air and catch the falling rocks. As though he was dumping an easy load, he pushed them away before bringing his hands down in front of him. "Powerful you have become Dooku," he said. Then he sighed a little. "The Dark Side, I sense in you."

"I've become more powerful than any Jedi," Dooku responded, as he raised his left hand. "Even you." As he finished speaking, blue force lightning shot out of his hand and raced towards the Jedi Master.

Yoda didn't panic or flinch. Instead, he caught the lightning in his left hand. The power and force of the lightning forced his hand to move back a little. Letting it swirl in a ball, the small, diminutive Jedi Master summoned the strength that he needed to push his hand forward, sending the lightning back at his former apprentice.

Dooku quickly raised his left hand and deflected the blast of redirected lightning into a wall. He seemed to be a little shocked at what he just saw, but quickly recovered and sent another blast of lightning at his former master.

The small Master smirked yet again as this time, he simply caught the lightning and absorbed it. "Much to learn, you still have," Yoda told him.

"I see that this little contest cannot be decided by our knowledge of the force," Dooku said as he reignited his red blade, "but by our shills with a lightsaber." He gave a small salute with his blade and then lowered it to his left side.

Master Yoda moved his beige cloak aside and summoned his shoto lightsaber to his hand with the force. He ignited the green blade and held the hilt in both of his hands.

Both Dooku and Yoda leapt in the air and landed on the floor, only for them to strike at each other. As their sabers clashed with each other, Yoda broke off the saber lock and used the force to propel his small body around the area. The small Jedi Master even leapt off of one of the wings of the Count's solar sailor, got up to the front of it and then bounced off of the wall that was next to the ship.

As both the Jedi Master and Sith apprentice continued their duel, they found themselves in a saber lock.

"Fought well you have, my old padawan," Master Yoda said.

"This is just the beginning," Dooku responded, knowing that he didn't have much time left. The Republic forces would no doubt be on their way to the hanger. He turned his head, successfully freed one of his hands from his saber hilt and using the force, he pulled a large power column free from where it was attached to its base and then let go, hoping that Yoda would break off the fight to save the helpless and injured Jedi.

Master Yoda did just that.

In one smooth and quick motion, he deactivated his lightsaber and put it away. Then he reached out with both of his hands and caught the tall piece of tubing in his hands.

Dooku took that opportunity to climb on the ramp and make his way to the door of his ship.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Obi-Wan woke up, only to find a large metal tube falling towards him and Anakin, who was still unconscious as he was in pain from losing his arm.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

As soon as the Count had reached the door, he paused and looked back at the scene before him. He could see that Yoda safely had the tubing in his grasp.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Jedi Master opened his eyes to find it floating just mere inches from both Anakin and Obi-Wan. Closing his eyes once more, the Jedi Master called upon the force to help him move the tubing behind them. Then, once he sensed that it was safe, he let go and the tubing dropped to the ground just as the ramp retracted from off the floor and the door that led to the rear of Dooku's ship closed.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Anakin woke up from his haze-induced pain but soon fell unconscious again. Obi-Wan meanwhile was awake and solemnly looked at Master Yoda and then glanced at Anakin, who had groaned from the pain of losing his right arm.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Master Yoda softly sighed as he knew that Dooku, who had been his apprentice was now lost to the Dark Side.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Count knew he had lost this battle, so he ordered his personal droid to take off. The engine was soon started and not a minute later, Dooku was fleeing the hanger and the rocky planet. Once his ship had reached outer space, the sail unfolded and helped guide the ship past the Federation ships that were in orbit over Geonosis. Once he was ready, the command was given and the ship jumped into hyperspace.

He was on his way to Coruscant.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In the hanger, Master Yoda had collected his gimmer stick with the force and was steadily making his way over to Obi-Wan and Anakin.

The Knight, who was well enough to move, maneuvered his legs out from underneath Anakin's head and got up off the floor. Then he limped over to Anakin as the Padawan used his left arm to help push himself up off the floor. Obi-Wan helped him up, making sure to be careful of his right arm that was now just a stump.

AN: Dooku has escaped from Geonosis and the battle that has started the Clone Wars is now over. Yes, Anakin still loses his arm. Originally, I wasn't going to have him lose it, but then I dismissed that idea and decided to follow the movie.

Two more chapters to go and this story will be complete!

UP NEXT: The aftermath of the battle at Pretranaki Arena and Anakin goes to speak to the Council about a few things.
