Chapter 1: Under the Same Rooftop, Technically

It was after the noon when she had heard something coming from the apartment beside hers. Her landlady has told her that someone has been planning to move in the vacant space, which was only one considering the apartment complex was just so small with only two spaces for rent.

Putting her headphone away, she then wondered whether she should greet her new neighbor or not.

If she didn't, then they would think she's just a bitch, but she also afraid if her new neighbor is just a stinky creep. Don't get her wrong, she's alright with otaku and stuff as long as they're not being too gross or creepy since she herself usually sang vocaloid songs for cover or just for fun.

Well, some of the songs is actually good, wait no, most of them are actually good and particularly hard to sings but she don't want to admit it even in her own thought. People would no doubt laugh at her if they found out she listen to vocaloid, not to mention her skill and hobby in playing a game. God, she will bury herself alive if people found out.

With a hard feeling in her heart, she forced herself to greet the new folk with a sigh while hoping her fear won't be true.

Putting on her green hoodie, she walked out of her apartment and went to the only door presence on this floor except hers. She could still hear the few hustle from the other side of the door.

She hesitated a bit, but then proceeds to knock the door a few times and the noise finally stopped. But before she could prepare, the door suddenly opened wide and revealed a rather disheveled boy.

He has a messy black raven hair with a few locks entangled and almost covering his eyes while a single gravity defying strand cutely poked from the top of his hair. He was rather pale than most boy around her and somehow have a grumpy cat aura around him.

But then before anyone could form any word to speak, their eyes meets and a look of recognition shared between them. Then all hell breaks loose.

"Hah? What are you doing here? You're stalking on me, aren't you? Ew, gross." She looked at him with disgusted face, which switched some button on his nerve.

"Hah? What the hell are you talking about? Stalking you? As if. I would rather die rather than do that, Ms. Beeg Head?" Annoyance and irritation was clear on his face.

"Hah? What the hell was that!? You, creep!?"

"Oi oi, at least pick a better word than that. I'll seriously get bored if that's what you always said."

She felt her own blood boiling hotly because this, this creature made only to annoy the hell out of her. Why did she need to meet him again? Looking on his impassive face at the school for everyday was already driving her nuts.

This is Hikigaya Hachiman, classmate and apparently a seatmate of her. At first, no one knew his whereabouts as he missed the opening ceremony and went absence for the entire two weeks without anyone knowing anything. Rumors started to pop up here and there about him being delinquent and despite her appearance and attitude, she quite didn't believe it.

But then when he finally attended the class and they had an assignment together, she changed.her mind and wholeheartedly agreed with those rumors. The guy is an absolute asshole, that was what she thought about him once he opened his mouth.

How could she not? He basically insulted her at their first meeting (even if she was the initial cause of the banter between them). Not only that, he also ignored her and spewed some bullshit about riajuu and stuff. And the most things that pissed her off is that the way he seems to do it without looking at her as if she was nothing and only focused on his little book.

It was infuriating and she was glad they shared the same feeling to each other.

But then fate didn't stop her torment on her. From that day onward, they kept getting an assignment together and on some occasion, she actually tried to make their grudge down and befriend him. But the bastard just looked at her suspiciously as if she had something horrible planned for him.

If not that, he would usually told her to leave him alone since he don't like to attract any attention on him before went back to his own pitifully lone world.

And now she has to endure being this guy's neighbor? Dear god...

Hachiman himself was clearly annoyed by this unexpected outcome. Screw him and his luck, he already needs to hold himself at the school but now he had to endure this loud bitch as his neighbor?

He had to admit; she was scary despite her limited vocabulary. But it didn't stop his mouth to start a fight between them which irritated him so much. That's also not mentioning her bossy attitude, grumpy look and she usually become too loud for his own liking. Why doesn't she just being quiet like her bespectacled friend?

This is Miura Yumiko, the queen bee of the first year and he had no doubt that she would become even more unbearable next year.

All in all their feeling is mutual and they're far more pettier than a lazy fat cat.

"Ahem." Suddenly, their stare off was broken by a fake cough from a new third party. As their stares were now redirected toward the source of it, they found a stoic looking woman staring at them.

She has a short bluish black hair in bob cut with a bang covered her left eyes. The only visible eye of her showed them an impassive and bored black gaze to them.

This is Aoi Ooya, their landlady.

"Can I help you both?" The way she talk was also as monotonous as her face and somewhat gave them a shudder at how cold and mysterious she act.

"I-It's nothing, Ooya-san." Yumiko answered her with nervousness dripping in her voice. Even she would admit that the mysterious lady creeped out her with how she could slip and sneaked without anyone noticing. That's not to mention her automated-like personality.

"I presume you two knew each other, no?" They nodded. "Well, I'll leave you with your time then. I hope you have a nice day."

And as she left the both of them alone, they released a breath they had unknowingly held while still looking at her leaving figure.

"I swear something about her is just not right."

"Yeah, but her pay rent is pretty good so I guess we shouldn't said something bad about her."

"Yeah."

And then they snapped out of their daze and went into another glare off.

Unknown to them, the very same stoic lady have a thought that completely contradict her look and personality. With a slight spark on her eyes and hidden giddiness on her heart despite her still stoic look, she scouted them with binocular from afar.

"I don't know why, but my rom-com radar is tingling."

-oOo-

Boom, another one coming.

Like the title said, this is pretty much gonna be just a slice of life with music story where these two teenagers became a singer. Easy.

Also, starring Aoi Ooya from 'Akutsu-San, Please Go Home!' manga. Why? Because she's such a mood and relatable.

Anyway, the sugar in the future chapters would quench all of your lack of fluffiness in life. I actually planning to write ShizuHachi fic that taking inspiration from the 'hiratsu-kawaii shizu-kawaii' fan made anthology manga but with an actual plot, although light, and decided to do it later. If you didn't read that yet, then you will regret it in your life.

There will be a few music, J-pop specifically, that will pop up in this fic, so I guess I can call this a music fic. Hopefully, I will be successful at spreading the light of J-pop song lol.

Hopefully you may enjoy this fic while I can't stop giggling while writing the future chapter of this fic. Help!

Bye~bye~
