[A Few Months Later]

"I'm surprised you wanted to see me." Ozpin said crossing his arms. "We haven't seen or spoken to each other since well…"

"I'm aware and I do want to apologize for that." Salem remarked with a sigh. "I've had time to cool off. After tossing in the towel, I realized I made many mistakes and while you have as well…all of it was my fault. Thousands of years wasted fighting each other…and for what?"

The two had met up in Emerald Forest to talk upon Salem's, and the two were alone under the night sky.

"What brought this on?" Ozpin said warily.

"Well…Yuki and Cinder have finally become a couple. With Team YUKI getting their licenses thanks to what I was able to get Lionheart to do. Side note, you let a total pushover run Haven…for shame, Oz." Salem said as Ozpin made a mental note to throw Lionheart off a steep cliff. "Team YUKI has informed that they're leaving my employ for a time. Seems they have their goals to finish and Cinder's going with them. Watts is starting his tech company in Mistral…so he's spending less time. Even, Mercury and Emerald are leaving…for a while at least. So, for the time being…I'm all alone again."

The moment was quiet for a time as both did not speak letting the sounds of nature take over for interim. For all their issues, they both each other's pain. If anything, they were who the other who could relate to. Ozpin sighed.

"I'm not asking for continuing our relationship….but to start over." Salem said leaning against a tree. "We both have been burning each other…yet we're the only ones who get each other."

"It's messed up, isn't it? I want to say yes…so sadly. But what of the consequences?" Ozpin remarked.

"Ozpin, there's something…I need to confess. Something Team YUKI has informed me…we may have a common enemy now more than ever…" Salem said with an air of worry.

Salem explained everything of what she was told…of the cult worshipping her and the Grimm King in the shadows using them to get himself freed.

"Grimm King?!" Ozpin said horrified.

"And he's lived just as long as us, Oz. He and his queen…are remnants from the Old World like us. If we're going to stop them, we need to work together." Salem said seriously. "At the least, we can work on healing each other while we fight side by side. So, what do you say?"

Salem extended a hand as a soft breeze blew through her hair…and Ozpin took her hand.

"I guess it'll just be like old times again." Ozpin said.

(A/N: Disengaged Salem comes to a close with an ambiguous yet hopeful ending for you all. As for Detached Salem…I'm cancelling it to convert it a challenge. If anyone else wishes to continue it, it's more than fair game as long as you PM me. But, what's next? Well, that's going to be a real show stopper.)
