"Come everyone, let's move in an orderly fashion."

I silently cursed out, if these people kept moving at the rate that they were, the mummified humans would catch up to us. The chunins were doing their best to keep the dead humans out of the village.

It's not like we could go and do it. Our main priority was to keep inside the village just in case Tezo decided to appear. It was like an army of them flooding through the gates, that's what the chunin near the gates was saying. They were getting all the action while we were stuck here on watch waiting for Tezo to appear.

Four Anbu appeared in front of us, and Shikamaru walked up to them to talk. I wanted to know what was going on so I kept my eyes on both.

Shikamaru then pointed his finger towards me. I placed my hands on my chest, asking non verbally if he was talking to me. He nodded his head, yes using the same hand to wave me over.

"This is the guy you're looking for." Shikamaru patted me on my back leaving me alone with the anbu.

"Do you need something?"

"Lady Tsaunde would like to see you. She wants you to come into the tunnels underneath the hospitals."

"Why would she wan-"

I nearly shitted myself, I took off in the direction of the hospital. There was one reason why she would want to see me in the tunnels underneath the hospital.

Sakura-chan was having the baby.

We've discussed the birth plan thousands of times, I could probably write it out backward. It was game time. Then it hit me, Sakura-chan was having the baby. My hands grew clammy, while my mouth grew dry.

I was not ready for this.

I ran towards the opening of the tunnel, there was a secret entrance near a tree that was not too far away from the hospital. I jumped down into the tunnel, I heard Sakura-chan scream out...it sounded painful. I ran faster towards the sound of her screams. The Anbu that was guarding her door immediately let me in the room. I probably would have fought them if they wouldn't have.

I instantly felt sick when I saw the state Sakura-chan was in. She was thrashing around in the bed, her hair was disheveled, the amount of sweat that was around her body looked like she just got out of the pool.

Only Tusande and Shizune were in the room. I sped over to the side of the bed where Sakura-chan was. "What's going on?"

"Her placenta detached from the wall. It caused her to lose a large amount of blood today. Not only that, the baby is forcing his way out of her because the placenta is his way of getting all the nutrients. No, he wants out because the placenta has detached itself. We came to terms that the baby needed to be delivered today. There's no way for us to deliver the baby vaginally, her cervix is inflamed and her pelvic bone is shattered. We have to do a cesarean."

I shuddered at the thought, all of that was going on inside of her body,"Okay, what's keeping you from doing so!?"

"We're waiting for the epidural to kick in Naruto!?"

Shizune placed a wet cloth over Sakura's forehead, too much was going on for me to fully comprehend. "His heart rate is dropping...Sakura you need to calm down. Your baby is in distress"

"Can the shit work any faster!?" I grew irritated, they were all just prancing around while Sakura was in pain. The baby needed to get out now.

Sakura grabbed the front of my jacket pulling it down towards his face. I was scared to even say anything to her right now. "Take him out now! Get him out of me right fucking now!"

"Lady Tusande the baby has been without nutrients for too long we need to take him out now."

I grabbed Shizune's hands from getting the scalpel, "What!? No! Let the epidural his can't you see she's in enough pain as it is!" There is no way she's going underneath the knife without any medications.

"Naruto, it's okay. I can take it."

"No, you can't take it. You could die!"

"Uhh! Please take him out!"

Granny took the scalpel out of my hand. There's nothing more I could do but comfort Sakura-chan to the best of my abilities. She was already in pain now she was about to feel a different level of pain.

"There's no debating. We're taking him out now. Give me the shot of morphine."

I sat back in horror watching granny stab Sakura in the hip with the needle. Granny grabbed the scalpel eyeing Sakura's belly as she did. I grabbed one of her hands, squeezing it tightly.

"Here we go."

Granny was about to slice Sakura's belly but I stopped her. I placed my hand on her belly, preventing anyone from doing anything.

"Wait wouldn't this be painful? I'm not ready for this." My voice came out in a whimper, there was no way in hell that I could sit here and watch her get cut open without any medications. I would be a bad fiance if I did. "I think-"

"Naruto shut the fuck up!" Sakura-chan barked.

I kept my mouth close, I didn't look, I couldn't look. I removed my hand from her belly, placing it by my side. My heart began to beat out of my chest. I used the bed to brace myself because I was on the verge of either throwing up or passing out.

I felt Sakura's hand squeeze in mine. It all happened too fast for me to process it, I heard her sickening scream pierce my ears but it didn't stop. She kept screaming and screaming. Her nails pierced the skin on my arm. Blood was drawn, it trickled down my hand onto hers. I could smell her burning flesh in the air, I heard when the blade cut into her delicate skin. I still couldn't look.

I only cried out begging for it to be over already. "Please just hurry" I whispered to myself, I avoided everything. I kept my attention on Sakura and I intertwine hands on the bed that was covered in my tears.

She begged for Tsunade to stop but Tsaunde kept going. "Stop it! Stop!" Her frail voice was running circles in my head.

I let her punch me, I let her scream at me, hell she could kill for if she wanted to. She even tried to fight Tusande but Shizune and I had to hold her down. I kept apologizing over and over to her.

Her deep green forest eyes were only filled with agony.

"Hurry up granny! "Sakura was still screaming out in pain, I had to change the cloth on her head every time it would get warm. It was the only thing I could do to make her as comfortable as possible.

"What is that!?" Tsunade yelled, I kept my hand on Sakura's but I glanced back for the first time to see what she was talking about. The only thing I saw was the sheets that were covered in blood and half of her guts laying outside of her body. I forced myself to look away back at our hands on the bed.

Tsunade motioned for Shizune to come over. I started to panic, I could see Sakura-chan panic as well. This was bad, this was really bad. Her heart was racing and if I remember anything from what she has taught me. I would know that if a patient is bleeding and their heart rate keeps rising that means that the heart is only pumping blood faster out of the body.

"Sakura-chan try to control your breathing."

"I can't..it's too painful to breathe." She screamed.

Fuck, her ribs are still broken. They haven't been healed yet.

"I know it's hard, baby and I know you are in a lot of pain. But you have to control your breathing or else you'll bleed out."

Sakura didn't say anything else, she just leaned her head to the side screaming out in pain. Tsunade was still observing whatever she had found in Sakura's belly. I started to grow impatient. Sakura-chan could possibly die right now.

"It looks like a cocoon?" I heard Shizune say, "My blade won't let me cut anymore!" Granny said.

My ears perked up at what they said, "What!?"

I asked Shizune to switch with me. Maybe I could help with the situation. I wasn't a medical ninja but Sakura-chan has taught me a few things. I mustered up the courage to look inside of her, I nearly wanted to faint at what I was seeing. "Oh my god."

"What is it Naruto!"

I was speechless, how could this have possibly happened. There's no way...unless our baby was capable of doing this. That's impossible though. "This type of skin looks like when I turned into eight tails when Pein attacked."

Tsaunde gasped, she studied the flesh that was once a placenta but now it was more like a cacoon protecting the baby from any outsiders. "How!? Wait...That's why my blade isn't working. Use your chakra to get him out!"

"Huh!? I'm no medical doctor!"

"This is life or death! You can either watch both of them die or you can grow some balls and rip that baby from out of there!"

I looked back at Sakura for confirmation, her eyes were completely closed. "Sakura-chan!" I tried to reach out to her, granny only pulled me back.

"Let Shizune handle it, Gaki. Our only concern is getting this baby out."

I sat back watching Sakura's motionless body. Shizune placed an oxygen mask on her, she also gave her another shot but this time it was in the side of her neck. I wanted to grab her and hold her but I couldn't. I had to get our son out of this mess.

I pushed all of the negative thoughts out of my head, "How do I get him out?"

"Use your canines, claws, infuse a fucking blade. Do something!"

My natural instinct told me to use my claws. I transformed my hands with Kurama's chakra, I ripped open her womb with one strike. I looked back at granny for further instructions. She told me to keep going until I saw the body of my son. I kept striking at her womb carefully not to allow my tears to fall in there. Whatever this was that had my son in there, it was hard and very tedious to get through but I was determined to get through it.

I kept ripping and tearing at it. I did it three more times until I saw my son's back.

Tsaunde pushed me to the side, "Let me take over!"

Granny pulled him out of Sakura's womb. At first, he didn't cry but after a few pats on the back, I heard my son cry. Granny motioned for me to cut the umbilical cord and that's what I did. My shaky hands grabbed the scissors to cut across the flesh.

She then handed him over to Shizune, I kept my blurry eyes on him. The sound of his cry was music to my ears. He was here. Shinachiku Uzumaki was here. I tried to keep my composure but I was falling apart. I wanted to hold him, kiss him, and even tell him how much I loved him but I couldn't. I wanted him to be placed on his mom's chest so she could cradle him against her. I wanted her to be the first one to hold and kiss him. She deserved it. She deserved to be awake to hear his first cry but she wasn't. That'll be something that I'll feel guilty about every day.

"Shizune take care of the baby. My focus now is Sakura."

I want to stop hiccuping so I can ask questions. I was too emotional right now.

"Is Sakura-chan going to be okay?"

"Yes, she will, She passed out from the amount of pain that was caused upon her. Now she should be fine. I'm pretty sure the epidural is now taking effect."

Tusande pushed me towards Shizune. She was now healing Sakura. I followed Shizune to the baby bed where she laid Shinachiku. His plushy red cheeks were prominent, he also has whisker marks just like I have. Blonde hair from my side of the family, mostly from the Namikazes. If he would have had red hair then he would definitely be a true Uzumaki. He also has green eyes which he got from Sakura and her mom. His eyes had me in a trance, those deep green eyes reminded me so much of Sakura-chan.

He was perfect.

"Wow, you're a big boy." I choked out, My heart was beating out of my chest. I placed one of my fingers in his hands. "Hi, I'm your daddy. Nice to meet you Shinachiku."

My heart nearly burst when he kept his eyes on me. He was everything to me. I never knew I could love someone more than Sakura-chan. I never truly knew how it felt. This is one of the best feelings in the entire world.

"Naruto?"

"Yes?"

"We need his name for the birth certificate."

I honestly didn't want to give him his name yet. I wanted to wait until Sakura-chan was awake so we could fill it out together.

I sighed softly, "Hai, Uzumaki Shinachiku."

"Shinachiku? You guys must be keeping those ramen names in the family."

"What can I say, it's a tradition." A dry chuckle escaped from my lips.

"Here hold out your wrist." I held out my wrist for her, she wrapped a dark orange band around my wrist. "We put this around the parent's hand so the babies won't get lost. Even though we're underground it's still protocol."

The band read, "Father of Shinachiku Uzumaki. 11/07." If it wasn't already surreal enough that I was his father.

Shizune pulled his small movable bed towards Sakura's bed, she was still out cold but her breathing was regulated. Tsunade was still healing her, Shinachiku and I were waiting by her bed patiently for her to wake up.

"Congratulations Naruto."

I smiled, my grin was so large my cheeks began to hurt, "Thank you baa-chan."

"If you don't mind. We're going to take this to get examined."She held up the placenta, "This by far has to be one of the wildest things I have seen."

"I wish someone was around that could tell me if my mom went through the same thing as me. How does someone turn a placenta into something like that?"

I put my head between my arms, and I began to pull at the ends of my hair. I needed answers.

"Hmm, I don't know but we will know once we take a look at it."

"Do you think that Shinachiku possesses the powers of Kurama?"

"That's hard to tell yet I want to say yes. I can't confirm it but that kid of yours had a lot of stamina and chakra."

We both we're now standing over him. I couldn't get enough of looking at him.

"Hmm, he's already like his mom."

Granny placed her hand on my shoulder making me look up at her. "Yet he's a fighter like his dad. A normal baby would've been dead after a few minutes of the placenta detaching itself from her. I'm assuming that's where that thick layer of skin came from, he was protecting himself."

"Is that even possible?"

"I honestly can't tell you what's and what's not impossible."

"Wait, can that be even passed down as genes?"

I followed her finger down to Shinachiku's face. She was pointing to his prominent whiskers.

"By the look of those whiskers on his face, he has some type of power within him. Maybe it has something to do with the person giving birth to a baby. Your mom's mom wasn't a host of the jinchuriki when she was born but you were. You had the beast within you when Shinachiku was born. Maybe your mom passed the gene to you and you passed it down to your baby.

"That could be a possibility."

We stayed silent for a minute. I was trying to connect the dots but nothing was connecting. I should leave that type of thinking to smart people like Shikamaru and Sakura-chan.

"Well, Sakura's all healed up. She should wake up anytime soon. Do you guys need anything?"

"No, I think we should be fine."

"Alright, I need to head out for a second. I'll be right back."

Shizune followed granny's footsteps, they both left out of the room leaving Sakura, Shinachiku, and I alone. I was extremely exhausted, mentally and physically. I could use a power nap right now. Shinachiku was fast asleep so this was the perfect time to do so.

There was a chair not too far away from me. I used that to put my feet in, it was quite soft. I reclined back in the other chair letting sleep consume me. I only had my eyes closed for a minute when Shinachiku's cries filled the air.

I nearly panicked. What was I supposed to do? How do I stop him from crying? I didn't even know how to hold a baby. I used my food to roll his bassinet to me. I rubbed his belly through the blanket that was wrapped around him. He only cried harder, I even tried to make silly faces but that pissed him off even more.

"Come on Shina, please work with me. I know I'm not your mom but we're in this together." I picked him up from the bassinet. I held him awkwardly until I reached my chair. He was still crying, he threw his plushy arms around during the tantrum. I tried to rock him back and forth gently, but he suddenly calmed down. He was whining but the small temper tantrum he was throwing faded away.

"I think he's hungry." Sakura's groggy voice filled my ears.

"Sakura-chan!" I turned my body so I could see her beautiful face. She looked horrible but she was still as generous as ever in my eyes. "You did it. Shinachiku is here!"

"Can I see him?'

I nodded my head, I carefully walked over to the bed. I lowered him in my arms so she could see his face, "I want to hold him. Can you help me?" I completely forgot that she was still numb from the medicine that was given to her. I helped place him in her frail arms, I helped her keep him close to her chest.

"He's so beautiful. He looks like you, Naruto."

Her eyes were filled with tears, as they fell I would wipe them away for her. Shinachiku was awake but now he was back to sleep since he was in Sakura-chan's arms. Maybe he wasn't hungry, maybe he just wanted to see his mom.

"Yeah, but he has your eyes."

Sakura smiled weakly, "If it weren't for his eye colors he would be a miniature version of you."

"He's perfect."

I kept my hands on his back supporting him while Sakura wept silently. I held them both close to me, I never wanted to let them go. This moment will forever be engraved in my head.

Sakura tapped my cheek, I lifted my head, a curious look was slowly surfacing on my face.

"I can't hold him any longer. He's starting to hurt my chest."

"Aish, sorry Sakura-chan, I forgot about that. Here I'll lay him beside you and then we can turn you on your side. How does that sound?"

"I would love that."

Shinichiku was still fast asleep when I lay him beside Sakura-chan, I used a pillow to place it under her ribs so she wouldn't be as uncomfortable. Sakura pulled Shinachiku closer, laying his head on the pillow alongside hers.

"Are you comfortable?"

"Mhm"

"Good." I went back to my chair to sit. I made myself comfortable before trying to close my eyes again.

"Do you want to lay down too?"

"No, I'm fine."

"Come on Naruto, you seem tired."

I didn't bother to argue with her, she would have just kept nagging me until I was in the bed with them. I made my way over to the bed with them. The bed was small, it was made to fit the mother and the child only but we made it work. I laid down wrapping my arm around Sakura's waist bracing myself since I was nearly on the edge of the bed. I placed my head on my arms, the pillows were taken over by Sakura-chan and the baby. I wasn't complaining though, they needed them more than I did.

I was dozing off slowly, Sakura-chan on the other hand was not. I made a slight effort to get her to get some rest, she wouldn't. She kept her eyes on Shinachiku, admiring every feature of him over and over again.

"Naruto?"

"Hmm." I opened my heavy eyes, just as fast as I opened they closed. "Do you hear that?"

"Hmm, Sakura-chan it's probably nothing." I yawned snuggling deeper in the blankets. Sakura said something else, I chose to ignore, sleep was slowly consuming me. She kept hitting me but I chose to ignore it too, sleep was consuming me.

The sound of Shinachiku's whimpers filled my ears making me feel like I was in a daze. It didn't last that long, there was a sound, it sounded like a rock crashing. I instantly shot up from the bed, there it was again but this time it sounded like it was above us. Small pieces of rock fell from the ceiling of the tunnels onto the bed and my head. I held out my hands watching the small pebbles fall onto them.

The door of the room bursts open revealing Tsunade with a panicked look, "Naruto take Sakura and the baby! You need to get out of here." She started to unhook Sakura from the monitors, the epidural was pulled from her back right along with the oxygen mask that was beside her.

"What's going on?" Sakura whimpered.

"There has been an attack above us. We don't want to risk having you down here."

"What an attack!?"

"Yes, an attack. We're not sure if they are intentionally trying to find out where you are or not."

Fuck.

I got out of the bed making my way towards Sakura's side of the bed, "Sakura-chan can you still not feel your legs?" Sakura shook her head no. My only option was to carry them both in my arms but how? "Come on."

"Wait, I'm scared." She placed her hand on my chest not allowing me to come any closer to her.

"Sakura-chan, please work with me. We need to get out of here."

She held her hand there a little longer before she finally dropped it down to her side.

"Okay." I grabbed Shinachiku, placing him in Sakura's arms. She cringed a little from the pain in her chest. There was no way for me to grab her without her being in pain. Her pelvic bone was broken right along with her ribs. Her legs were numb but she was complaining about still being tender from earlier chaotic labor and delivery.

"I can't hold him for that long. I'm scared that I might drop him, Naruto."

"Okay, I have an idea."

There was a small blanket that was on the bed. I took it, wrapping it around Shinachiku and Sakura tying it around her body. Shinchiku was laying on her chest with Sakura's arms around him. The blanket kept them both in place.

"Come on, let's go."

I grabbed Sakura in my arms, Shinachiku was still sleeping on his mom's chest. Sakura slowly but surely was falling apart in my arms. She kept whispering, 'I'm so scared.' I knew she was terrified, hell I was terrified. Not only did I have to watch over her but we just had a baby who was so pure, he didn't deserve to be born in such a chaotic time.

Granny pushed me towards the door, giving me the okay to leave the room. I made sure Sakura-chan was okay before I left. I ran out of the room with them both in my hands. While running down the hallway there was a lot of visible dust in the air. debrief was all over the place.

"Sakura-chan put that blanket over his head."

Sakura removed one hand that was wrapped in the blanket to put the piece of the blanket over his head. I had to manage walking over big rocks with them both in my hands, not only that but I knew from the outside noise that there was a fight going on with someone out there. If it couldn't get any worse, the exit of the tunnel had a huge hole in it, if you looked up you could see the night sky.

An Anbu appeared next to me, they examined Sakura then the baby, "Naruto Uzumaki, we'll clear the way for you."

"Hai, I need to get to my house."

"We're going to have to speed there. If that's okay for the lady and the baby." They asked a question in Sakura's favor.

"That's fine." She said slowly.

"Here." Another anbu appeared with a blanket. She placed it over my body so Sakura-chan and the baby were completely covered. "It's November, not the summer. The baby would freeze out there."

"Thank you."

"No problem...let's go."

This first anbu jumped to the surface, he held out his arms to grab Sakura-chan and the baby while I climbed out behind him. He placed them back in my arms once I was above ground, we were underneath the hospital. The hospital was almost destroyed, whoever did this was a complete psychopath. They even managed to blow up the tunnel entrance and exit.

We ran towards the house dodging as many of the mummified humans as we could. They came running full force at us screaming. The anbu was slaughtering them left and right, they did it as if it were nothing to them.

Sakura was calm for the time being, sometimes I could feel her jumping in my arms. I did my best to console her, I tried to make her as comfortable as possible.

"Is that your house up there?"

"Yeah."

"Alright, we'll hold them off. Make it to your house."

I nodded my head running full force to our home. I opened the door as fast as I could, I made a beeline for the basement that was below our home. It was the only place that could keep them safe for the time being. If only I could get down all the flights of stairs in time.

Once I made it I opened the door of the basement. I took the blanket off of Sakura-chan and untied the blanket that held Shinachiku to her chest. They were both now laying in the bed in the same position they were in before all of this happened.

I heard footsteps coming down the stairs.

Who is that? There were only a few select people who knew about this place and most of them were out fighting. My hand went inside of my pocket and slowly brought out the kunai that was in there. I kept my eyes pinned on the door waiting for whoever dared to step foot in my house. The door opened but no one was there, that was until I looked towards the ground to see Kato standing there with snacks in his hand.

"Oh, man!" He dropped all of the snacks in his hand. He had the biggest grin on his face while running towards me. I scooped him up in my arms. "Why didn't anyone tell me the baby was born! My brother is here!"

Sakura smiled at Kato, she brought the blankets down from Shinachiku's face so he could see him better. "He was born a few minutes ago, Kato."

"Sakura-san are you okay?"

"I'm fine...how did you get down here. I thought you left with the anbu?"

Kato crossed his arms across his chest, "I did, I told them to take me here. Nii-chan told me if anything were to happen to come down here."

I merely facepalmed, "Kato, I said, do that if something happened when we're in the house. If the village is under attack you go to the Hokage monuments."

"But they can sense my chakra in the Hokage monuments, they can't sense my chakra in here."

I thought about it for a second, he was right. "Ehh, that's true. Next time go to the Hokage monuments."

Kato nodded his head while giving me a thumbs up. I gave him a small hug before placing him back on the floor. He ran after the snacks that he dropped earlier on the ground. Sakura on the other hand was nearly about to fall asleep. It was now or never.

"Hey, I'm about to head out." I nervously said.

"What!? You can't just leave Naruto." She shouted but it came out as a whisper.

"Sakura-chan you'll be safe here but I can't just stay here and do nothing while the village is under attack."

She reached out, pulling me closer to them both. "Naruto no...what...what if history repeats itself."

"I won't allow that," I said sternly, there was no way in hell I would allow something like that to happen again. I was not going to lose my family, not now or ever.

"How? Fate isn't in your hands. I can't do this alone. I can't raise Kato and Shinachiku alone. Naruto I can't live without you."

Sakura began to cry in my chest. I held her in my arms as she cried. Shinachiku was in the middle of us whimpering softly. I reached out to rub his short blonde locks of hair."Sakura-chan...nothing is going to happen. I'm coming back to you, Shinachiku, and Kato. Although I'm still considering Sasuke...but I'm coming back."

I tried to throw that joke in there to make her laugh but she didn't. Her lips only trembled harder, her tears following out more. "I love you Sakura-chan." I kissed both of them on their heads. I had to forcefully take her hands from around my waist. She tried to grab me again, I got up from the bed before she could.

Kato was near the door still picking up his snacks. I bent down helping him place them back in his hands.

"Nii-chan, you go and protect the village. I got everything in here under control."

"I'm trusting you, Kato."

"I got it nii-chan." Kato gave me one last hug before running to the bed where Sakura was. He placed all of his snacks on the bed, opening them one by one.

I stole one last look at Sakura-chan. She had her face buried in the blanket that was wrapped around Shinachiku. I tried my best to ignore her cries but each one was like a stab in my chest. I walked back up the flight of stairs towards the main door that led outside. I summoned a toad, specifically the son of Kosuke who was once my messenger toad.

"You need something boss?"

"I need you to watch over this house. If anything happens or you feel any type of suspicion report back to me ASAP."

"Got it, boss."
