Over at the town hall, the 'Eight Smashers' were hanging out together ironically playing Smash Brothers on a Nintendo 3DS of their color. Kaiser was battling against Amber Lee, Zoey, and Robbie. Lani, Alex, Alexa, and Sandy were having their match.

"Seems XanTech's boss are celebrating. One of them is overseeing operations is visiting here today." Robbie said. "There's going to be a party in a few days. Rei agreed to come as my +1." Robbie said with an eager grin.

"Robbie's finally got a girlfriend. Let's see if it lasts." Zoey joked.

"Hey, Robbie can be wily, but he's a good person." Sandy said defending him.

"You're only defending him because you two used to date." Alex joked.

"We realized we were better off as friends." Sandy said plainly. "Dating him only puts my point that he's not a bad person. Are you deriding my taste in men? You went on a date with Kaiser."

"It was a prom date." Zoey said with a pout. "And he's like a brother to me."

"Considering he could have almost got together with Ankha…" Alexa teased as Kaiser sigh.

"I can't believe Ankha had been holding a torch for me, but never spat it out." Kaiser said sheepishly. "But I'm happy with Isabelle."

"Where's the puppies, then?" Amber Lee joked.

"I figured she'd ask you for a litter." Lani joked as Kaiser's eye twitched.

Kaiser promptly whomped them all with a Bob-omb and won the match.

"Damn!" Robbie said shaking his head. "By the way, I want you and Isabelle to come with."

"You do?" Kaiser said as the four were about to start another match.

"Yeah, but you need to help me with something. Getting Pyrrha to come with us as our security." Robbie remarked.

Ruby came back to the island from another cave run carting some loot she could sell for a good profit. She wanted to do runs fairly often to keep herself in shape and have something to do. As Ruby went inside to count the spoils, Team JPNR was having a barbeque to celebrate a week in what they called their little paradise. Pyrrha was finding her stride in using her semblance to build things and was growing well-liked by the Accel Twins who paid her well. She had used that money to upgrade her and Jaune's shared home in size and with new furnishings. Ren was still working with Amber Lee at her bakery, but he was saving money to get a building to start up his business in food service soon enough. Nora and Jaune were making strides monster hunting. All around, there was plenty of things to celebrate. They were waiting for their sister team to show up with the extras.

"Ribs are almost done." Ren said flipping them.

"Yo." Yang said coming up soaking wet.

She had come out from the ocean, water pooling down her fit frame that was clad in a tight-fitting wetsuit and flappers. Her scuba mask hung around her neck.

"I caught some red king crabs." Yang said with a cheeky grin. "Ren, could you maybe cook them up on the grill?"

"All right, I can do that…after you go get me seasoning." Ren said dryly as Yang nodded.

Blake arrived with a tin of tuna salad finger sandwiches and a salad bowl putting them down on the picnic table.

"Weiss is waiting for Amber Lee to get off from her break to order the desserts." Blake said getting her beach chair out of her Inventory. "Ruby texted me she's on her way with the cooler of drinks."

Ruby arriving tugging a cooler having cleaned up and changed to a parrot print floral top, red shorts, red mid-top sneakers, and a big floppy sunhat.

"I got Sprunk, Logger Beer, e-Cola." Ruby said as Yang returned.

Out from the wetsuit, she changed to an orange tank top, yellow chino shorts, and sandals. She put the shopping down for Ren on the table as she got her seat. Ruby got out a beer for Yang and cracked it open for her before giving it to her.

"I just want to say, I'm glad that even if we ended up worlds away that we're here together." Yang said gently. "But…I miss my dad."

Ruby put her hand on Yang's shoulder as Yang took a swig.

"I do so. Hopefully, he'll turn up." Ruby said as there was a somber air to the table.

They all took a beer.

"To our fallen and lost comrades, family members, and allies. Lost, but not forgotten." Jaune said as they toasted.

They all feasted on those grilled ribs savoring the flavor and the time they spent together. Watching from afar was Mercury who was on a cell phone.

"Lapis. I didn't even think you knew I was alive and well" Mercury asked.

"I actually recently discovered you…why the radio silence though?" Lapis said as he chuckled.

"I'm retired. After everything that happened before our world got wrecked, I ended up with an opportunity to start over after losing my original Emerald." Mercury said gently. "But you mentioned some news."

Lapis explained everything about the events of the 'prime' timeline and Yuki's gamble.

"Shit, Yuki's pretty lucky indeed. If the Prime Counterpart is secure, operations can expand." Mercury affirmed. "But are you and Kelly planning on visiting here?"

"Just to pick up Robbie and his party. Speaking of parties, we do want you there if you can make it." Lapis said. "We'll pay for childcare."

Mercury thought about it.

"Tell you what, I'm come with Emerald, but I need a favor. I have a maid with a kid, and the maid's reeling from sickness. Could you heal her?" Mercury asked.

"Consider it done. I need to pay Ninten a visit, and I'll be there tomorrow." Lapis said. "Consider rejoining us, we could use your aid considering the Prime timeline is in lock."

"I'll think about it. Goodbye." Mercury said before hanging up.

He walked back inside the house as Ella was doing some chores. She still looked a bit unwell but was able to move around to do light work. Melanie and Diamandra were in their highchairs being fed by Emerald as Cinder was on the couch watching cartoons.

"Emerald, can I talk to you for a bit?" Mercury said gesturing for her to follow.

"Ella, can you feed the twins?" Emerald said as Ella nodded.

The couple went upstairs to their room.

"I just got a call from an old friend. I didn't tell you this, but I used to work for XanTech." Mercury said. "It gets a bit more complicated…then that."

He told her enough to make his point.

"Ok, so you're basically a fusion of you and the Mercury I know." Emerald said sitting on the bed.

"Not exactly. More like we merged, and I won out in a sense over the old Merc you used to know." Mercury said as Emerald looked lost on how to take this.

"What happened to your original Emerald?" She asked.

"I lost her alongside my original world. We weren't together this…bad decisions in our lives put apart on both ends. I got a second chance in you…and to better myself." Mercury said. "I just didn't know how to tell you…but I had to do because the company wants me back."

"Why so?" Emerald asked.

"Major gains had have allowed to up production and a better grip on the worlds the company got roots in. They need all the help they used to have, and I told her I'd think about it." Mercury mused. "But they are holding a party and they invited me to come. I said I'd go if she could heal Ella up, and she agreed."

"And of course, I'm coming with you." Emerald said as he hugged her. "Even if this has all happened, it doesn't change who I fell in love with."

"Love you too, Em." Mercury said.

On the open ocean was a sizeable three-story yacht baring a few flags, one of them baring XanTech's symbol…and the other the personal emblem of the ship's owner: Lapis L. Kristal. She sat in her dining room having lunch with her ship's crew.

"I made cookies."

"Summer, I wish you'd stay on board as a part of my staff." Lapis said stuffing a few down her mouth. "These are heavenly."

"I'm glad you like them, but I can't stay. After being away from my daughters for so long, I can finally reunite with them." Summer said with a wide grin.

Summer Rose had been in the Animal Crossing world far longer than XanTech was aware of. She actually was here for several years and had even remarried to someone she met, Yu Ayashi, forming a duo of globetrotting explorers. She had actually come across Lapis when her and her husband's boat was sinking. Lapis offered a ride and was able to explain a few things leading to what happened now.

"So, about her ex-husband?" Yu asked.

"Not sure. We're still searching to find any more Fallers but not making it high priority. What we can be confirm is Summer isn't a split counterpart. She's exclusive to this verse and not the other one leading to theorize Raven might be the opposite." Lapis said thoughtfully. "Weiss is going to be pissed to know her family is an exclusive to the other verse. Or maybe just pissed her sister isn't the one to also be a splitter."

(A/N: It was rather obvious that Summer was going to show up in this side of the series. As for why I excluded Weiss's family, it was a bit of equal exchange. There is someone of Weiss's that is going to be exclusive to this universe, and it's telling who it is. The question is Taiyang and Blake's parents.
