Time was for healing wounds. It had taken a long time for her to even come to something resembling some level of peace. What were the years for? Time to learn everything left behind on this world! What were the nights for? Having nightmares and dreams that basically said, "You fucked up". What were the days for? Keeping busy. After all, being alone made insanity quite boring. Fifty years…she was alone…until the start the new year.

A portal opened in the ice and snow long abandoned and out slipped several people before it closed. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiao Long, Jaune Arc, and Neo Politon.

"Is this Vale?" Yang asked. "What the hel-WHOA!"

Another portal opened as out came Raven and Taiyang who fell with a thump.

"Dad!" Ruby and Yang said at they helped him.

"I'm here too!" Raven said getting up herself.

"Can you tell us what happened then? Why aren't we in Vacuo?" Weiss asked shivering a bit.

"I don't know…I don't even know how long we were in that portal." Raven said. "All I know is the people were dying from beams from the sky. I shove him and I into a portal aimed at you, but then nothing….until now."

"We…were between worlds." Ruby explained. "On some kind of island…it took us a month to escape."

Weiss was on her scroll trying to get any information only to barely hit a signal. She balked when the date adjusted to the current date before the panic set in.

"Weiss, what's wrong?" Ruby asked.

"The date…today's date. Look at it." Weiss said blankly as they used their scrolls.

Ruby dropped hers in the scroll in disbelief. Fifty years had passed. Ruby fell to her knees shaking as the wind blew. Jaune frantically trying calling Ren…Nora….his sister…anymore. Only for the call to fail each time and Jaune getting more panicked. Blake tried looking to see what happened…and what from she could see…The Brother Gods came and killed everyone. As far as they knew, they had failed in their mission.

Neo rolled her eyes. She was just happy the source of what dragged her and Roman in this mess was dead. She could be in peace with this and the fact that the 'heroes' were losing their perpetual shit.

"What do we do? Where do we even go?" Weiss asked herself as Ruby got up with her scroll. "Everyone we known is dead, Ruby!"

"My whole team is gone…" Jaune choked out before trying not to break down.

Ruby wanted to be positive, assure her friends, and push on. But she couldn't do it. Not with proof that she screwed up massively in front of her face. Here they were in the cold with no direction. All alone with themselves and their thoughts. Weiss was already on the brink…and all they could do is trudge into the cold hoping for finding some of kind of shelter.

For those it seemed the realization of their errors in judgement were now setting in. They were wander. Time now irrelevant. Hope dead to wind like what was Remnant.
