Ianto was bathing the little one, washing a little bum as he crooned and those eyes stared up at him intently. Ianto knew this was going to be more than the others. His need to protect, fight and snarl at the world… to make Shay big, strong and fearless… held his heart and soul firm.
"Hey… Marv rang. Someone has been sniffing around the Lake House, trying to break two locks on one of the bigger buildings. He has the Amphibious at his place now" Jack said, leaning over to croon "Hello Shay-mouse. Heyyyyyyy"
"I am really surprised at Hawk, he is handling this so well" Ianto said as he lifted the baby and Jack grabbed the little slippery body with a towel.
"super heroes don't always have ot wear capes" Jack said as he kissed the little face, those eyes so much like Toshiko's but a paler amber as a little face screwed up into a gummy squeal in return "Awwww… do you see that? Someone is saying hi."
"I found something out today while talking to one of the Biddies" Ianto said after a while "Shay in ancient Egypt was the god of fate or destiny."
"Really?" Jack asked "and I thought it was just me."
"Just you what?"
"Thant thought we were fated to be this little one's parents."
Ianto smiled widely as he tined to kiss him and said softly "No Cariad… I know. The gods do not give us more than we can take and … my whole life was to prepare me for this task. I know this. No…not a task. A gift."
Jack nodded; glad Ianto was focused on the baby, and not that stupid flu.

Ianto knew that he needed another vehicle, one that would fit all the babies comfortably so he went to the dealership that specialized in larger transports. Hawk and Jack came as well and Ianto was relieved to find the Cat Bag left behind.
"Hello Doctor… ah Captain" Gerry said happily as he watched the family emerge from the SUV "Wonderful to see you all!"
Hawk took off with the little black cat under his arm that Ianto had not even noticed in the back with him. At least it has a harness on and a leash I guess. Ianto ignored it, the dogs refusing to get out as they slept on the very back seat, snoring.
"I want something not too big, easy to manoeuvre but with at least two back seats with three full seats… three car seats need to fit ya see, as well as room for my… oooooo" Ianto saw the SUV that was low to the ground and looked super swish. It was a new model that had the suicide doors on one side to make it easier to get things in and out.
Ianto leaned into the SUV to see the back seat that would easily fit all three baby seats and have room for their toys and such, the other seat turned to back onto the front seats, facing the back seat so Angel and Ton could tend their brood happily. Huge floor space… clearly for a wheelchair or something with one of the back seats removed… clever.
Perfect.
