The convoy roared across the bridge as the Hoodlums converged and by the time the men were swinging closed those huge wrought iron gates Ianto loved so much, they were all safe.

Ianto met them all at the hall, food and happy villagers waiting to welcome them in. Hawk and Ton were stropping around with their faces full of importance, both with clipboards… yeah… somewhere along the line Hawk had 'procured' a black one half the size of a normal one and he was counting children.

Ianto knew he would have it all wrong, counting some kids several times as it never occurred to the child that kids moved around but at least he was busy. Ianto was busy too, making sure those being billeted into the village were happy and those who were going to live in the Hoodlum facility were all settled.

Jack watched Ianto with mild concern and approached him when he saw him in a quiet corner "Ianto? What are we doing here love?"

"We are battening down, I feel… nervous." Ianto admitted "Someone sniffing about, asking questions. Could be someone just looking to stir shit for the clan but… the fact we have so much stuff that others would like then… maybe we need to pull together, look at what we are all doing and readjust our way of living."

Jack stared at him then said softly "The truth."

"OK… I have the heebie-jeebies with this flu going around and those mercenaries wanting our gear. I want to have our people around us, our doors shut and our guns loaded."

Jack nodded and then asked "so the van with suicide doors is not just for the kids… we are buying another more covert troop transporter aren't we!"

Ianto shrugged and moved away as Jack considered and saw that it was not such a bad thing. He thought abut a lot of things Ianto had been reading out loud to him recently, things clipped out of the news paper and left on the table that Jack had picked up and read.

Jack went to see Conner and check if the old SWAT vehicle he had sitting in the barn needed a bit of a tune up.

To be safe.

Jack would support Ianto, make him feel safe, make their village feel safe… and maybe… maybe…

Get the Webley out.
