Percy: FIGHT TIME!
Percy five minutes later: BITCH LET ME FIGHT!
Hey guys, just something I wanna know peoples opinions on, is Canon Luke redeemable? Like at any stage, I'm only asking 'cause something I'm planning for Percy will probably adjust the way she sees certain things and I'mma be honest, I have a soft spot for good Luke so do you guys think there is any stage at which he is redeemable? I'm curious, like, if he'd take up an offer to get the fuck away from Kronos.

Ryan Fowler: Percy is very annoyed at the end of this chapter.
Guest: It's more that there's never been any Greek Demigods who are also magicians before, the worlds try to keep separate to avoid fighting, so a child who's part of both worlds... they're gonna be very weary of her since the worlds don't usually mix- remember what happened when Greeks meddled in Egypt? It ended with Egypt falling. But their opinions on her vary from god to god based on other factors as well- Isis and Horus would probably be more distrusting but, well, their hosts were Sadie and Carter so they know more about her, and Babi and Nekhbet already don't like the Kanes so their opinions are gonna be harsher. Does that make sense?
Percy stared at the man- who was shorter than her. And did that mean that Sadie wouldn't call Percy shorty anymore? It wasn't her fault! Her mom promised that she'd have a growth spurt eventually. Admittedly it seemed kinda impossible- Percy was half convinced that she'd be stuck being the tiny one forever and ever.
Still, that wasn't actually important for the moment, she turned her head slightly, shifting her wings as she looked at Sadie- who looked about as shocked as Percy felt- though Emma yelled, "Come on!" and she and Liz rushed towards the man. Not always a good idea with their lives but- well, it didn't leave Percy and Sadie much of a choice. Percy left Sadie's shoulder, a firm flap of her wings and she was soaring towards the newcomer.
And as she got closer she was more and more- well, reluctant. He was definitely short, and stouter than uncle Amos. And ugly too-Percy honestly wasn't sure if she'd ever seen anyone so ugly before- and she felt guilty for thinking that- he might be a friend after all. But his facial features were positively
Neanderthal. Under his thick furry mono-brow, one eye was bigger than the other. His beard looked as if it had been used to scrape greasy pots. His skin was poxy with red welts, and his hair looked like a bird's nest that had been set on fire then stomped out.
When he saw Sadie, he scowled, which did nothing to help his appearance.
"About time!" His accent was American. He belched into his fist, and the smell of curry nearly knocked me over. "Bast's friend? Sadie Kane? Where's the other one-"
Percy let out a shriek- and the man paused, "Got it." he nodded.
"Uh, yeah, I'm Sadie." Sadie spoke reluctantly, eyeing him almost nervously. "Just by the way. We have two gods trying to kill us."
The warty little man smacked his lips, clearly unimpressed. "Guess you'll want a bridge, then."
He turned toward the curb and yelled, "BOO!"
A black Mercedes limousine appeared out of nowhere, as if it had been scared into existence.
The chauffeur glanced back at the, and arched his brow. "Well? Get in!"
Percy hesitated for maybe a second before fluttering into the limousine- transforming back with practised ease and flopping into the seats- she'd always thought that limo's were supposed to be luxury- but it was more messy than her bedroom had ever been- littered with takeaway curry containers, old news papers with grease and chips stuck on them, chip backs and- and socks? Percy pulled a face as Sadie, Emma and Liz puled into the back with her, Sadie hugging her tightly.
"Don't just dive in on ahead." she huffed, "And don't- I saw you falling Percy you can't scare me like that! You just can't I almost went crazy seeing you fall."
And Sadie looked incredibly pale- Percy was willing to bet it wasn't just from the shock of seeing Percy nearly die. And as Sadie spoke the door was being shut and then their driver was in the front and slamming his foot down, taking off.
Percy shifted so that she could peer out of the window, and she blinked rapidly as they barreled out of the station. The police had cordoned it off, but the limo swerved around the barricades, past a cluster of BBC news vans and a mob of spectators.
No one paid them any attention, but then normal people were boring like that- if they didn't believe it could happen then it didn't in their eyes.
Their new chauffeur whistled as they drove, and Sadie shifted slightly, arm still wrapped around Percy's shoulder, and she peered at the sun visor- where there was an identification card with his picture- sort of. It had been taken at point-blank range, showing only an out-of-focus nose and a hideous mouth, as if he'd been trying to eat the camera. Percy pulled a face as she tried to make sense of the jumbled letters- her dyslexia was always annoying but at home she could usually use translation spells- and when she'd been being homeschooled it hadn't been an issue because her dad knew she learned better with practical lessons.
And to make it worse the letters always seemed to shift and get all jumbled even more when she was stressed- and given the day she'd had she could hardly be blamed for being stressed.
Thankfully Sadie spoke a moment later before Percy could get a headache, "You're Bes?"
"Yes." the man ahead of thems voice was short, sharp even- then again the situation did kinda call for sharpness- they were being chased by two pissed off gods.
"Your car's a mess," Liz muttered.
"If one more person rhymes," Emma grumbled, "I'll throw up."
"Is it Mr. Bes?" Sadie asked "Lord Bes? Bes the Extremely Short?"
"Just Bes," he grunted. "One s. And no, it's NOT a girl's name. Call me Bessie, and I'll have to kill you. As for being short, I'm the dwarf god, so what do you expect? Oh, there's bottled water for you back there if you're thirsty."
Percy and Sadie both looked down in unison. Rolling about at their feet there were two partially empty bottles of water. One had lipstick on the cap, the other looked as if it had been chewed on.
"Not thirsty." Sadie decided quickly, Liz and Emma murmuring in agreement- and they all looked at her in shock when she bent down and grabbed the bottles.
Percy rolled her eyes, "I'm not drinking them." she unscrewed one of the caps and promptly poured the water over her right shoulder- which was aching most.
"Oh." Sadie nodded in sudden understanding.
"Uh- what?" Emma blinked- "Wait- where's the water gone?" because Percy had willed it away.
"Just think of it as magic" Percy said simply, rolling her shoulder, the ache was nowhere near as bad any more.
And honestly Percy was impressed at how well Emma and Liz were coping with everything- she could see why Sadie was friends with them. They were pretty tough. And Percy turned her head to look out of the window again, police vehicles were blocking the bridge that they were heading towards, but Bes swerved around them, jumped the pavement and kept driving. The police didn't even blink.
"Are we invisible?" Sadie asked- which earned her and incredulous look from Percy- because honestly, she figured Sadie would be used to most mortals being blind to the obvious."
"Sadie, you ask that now? Are you forgetting how they literally just glossed over the whole huge Pyramid randomly showing up in D.C. Back in December?"
That made Sadie pause, a considering look on her face before she shrugged, "Okay, okay I'll give you that one."
"Mortals are pretty dense." Bes belched the words, "Present company excepted, et cetera."
"You're really a god?" Liz asked.
"Huge," Bes said. "I'm huge in the world of gods."
"A huge god of dwarves," Emma marveled. "You mean as in Snow White, or—"
"All dwarves." Bes waved his hands expansively, which made Sadie shift nervously as he took both of them off the wheel. "Egyptians were smart. They honored people who were born unusual. Dwarves were considered extremely magical. So yeah, I'm the god of dwarves."
Liz cleared her throat. "Isn't there a more polite term we're supposed to use nowadays? Like…little person, or vertically challenged, or—"
"I'm not going to call myself the god of vertically challenged people," Bes grumbled. "I'm a dwarf! Now, here we are, just in time."
He spun the car to a stop in the middle of the bridge. Well, that was good, running water- and also just water in general. Percy could work with that. Now they just needed to figure out how to deal with the angry gods. Percy shifted, turning and looking back, pulling her face at what she saw.
A winged black shape was circling over the riverbank. At the end of the bridge, Babi was taking care of the barricade in his own fashion. He was throwing police cars into the River Thames while the officers scattered and fired their weapons, though the bullets seemed to have no effect on the baboon god's steely fur.
"Why are we stopping?" Emma asked.
Bes stood on his seat and stretched, which he could do quite easily. "It's a river," he said. "Good place to fight gods, if I do say so myself. All that force of nature flowing underneath our feet makes it hard to stay anchored in the mortal world."
And sure enough his face was shimmering almost like a mirage- proof enough, not that Percy had needed it in the first place. She knew how important water was. The only gods who weren't effected were those who were connected to water.
Percy didn't even hesitate, pushing open one of the doors and clambering out- pretending that she couldn't hear Sadie's frustrated; "You could at least pretend to wait for me to tell you it's okay!"
"I don't need permission- 'sides it better to ask for forgiveness than permission."
"I'm gonna kill you one of these days! Liz, Emma we're getting out!"
"Getting…out?" Liz whimpered.
Emma swallowed. "Are you sure—"
"I know you guys are scared but you need to trust us and do everything I say."
And then Sadie was out of the car by Percy's side, and Emma and Liz followed- though they stood behind Percy and Sadie.
Bes stifled a yawn, "Need my help?" he was still sat in the car, but with the doors open it was easy enough to hear him.
"Um..." Sadie frowned, glancing between him and the two approaching gods- Babi was lumbering towards them as Nekhbet circled above him shrieking orders-and they didn't seem to be very weakened by the river.
"If you can help us then yeah." Percy decided, focusing on the feeling of the water beneath them, the currents of the river- though she very much hoped that Bes could figure something else out- she'd rather not drown Sadie's grandparents.
"Right." Bes cracked his knuckles, "Shut the door."
Sadie opened her mouth, probably to ask him what he was planning, but Percy simply kicked the door shut, and as soon as it was shut they heard the clicking of the locks.
"You do realise we're on our own now." Sadie complained, and Percy gave a small shrug, gripping her staff tightly.
"You say that as if it bothers me." she shot her sister a grin, "You protect your friends, I get to do the fun stuff-"
"Percy you are the only one who thinks that fighting scary stuff is fun- even Carter doesn't actually take pleasure in doing it-"
"Hey, don't blame me." Percy grinned, "It's in my blood." and then she took off, sprinting towards Babi and Nekhbet.
She met Babi halfway, dropping and skidding as he lunged towards her, huge meaty fists swinging through the air- and a blow from one of those would probably cave in her skull.
But she slid underneath them, between his legs- and she pulled a face as she did- by all the gods he stunk- and then she was out the other side, behind him-and she could hear Nekhbet barking orders at Babi, telling him to turn- but Percy was already surging to her feet and whirling around, launching herself upwards and bringing her staff around, smashing it over the baboon gods head- mentally apologising to Sadie's gramps as she did- though the god didn't seem to be in too much pain- he bellowed, lashing out with his fists as he turned, and she managed to plant her foot on his shoulder, kicking herself backwards before he could grab her, hitting the ground in a roll and lurching up again, "TAS!" and thick ropes formed around his arms, pulling them to his sides.
That annoyed him and he lowered his head, charging towards her even as he struggled against the ropes- and he got free pretty quickly, Percy dove to the side, unfortunately he managed to snag the back of her dress and he yanked her towards him.
"Crap!" Percy shrieked the word as she stumbled, twisting and smacking her staff against Babi's hand, "Maw!" and water shot out of the top of her staff, hitting the baboons face hard, he stumbled backwards and Percy let out a whoop- unfortunately he wasn't the only god present and a moment later she felt Nekhbet's claws cutting into her back and shoulders as she was lifted off the ground, dragged up so high that she felt dizzy staring down below her even as she struggled.
She tried to flail backwards to smack Nekhbet with her staff but instead her grip on it slipped- and she could see Sadie far below now, even as her staff fell all the way down to the bridge- very car from her grip. Sadie had already summoned a protective circle around her and her friends- but Babi was attacking them and Percy wasn't down their to help.
"Oh I am gonna beat you up you winged bitch!"
"Let's see how Sadie Kane does without the little protector-"
"Oh heck no-" but Percy was already being thrown- and she shrieked as she sailed over the side of the bridge- but hey on the plus side at least she'd be landing in water.
