Sword Fights
There are many things that Remus Lupin expects to find in the third year boys dormitory; dirty clothes strewn about, old snacks, crumpled homework, and odd and pungent smell of boy. This, however, was not on the list at all.
Feathers floated lazily through the air, splintered wood was scattered on the ground, and an odd acrid scent assaulted his nose.
"Unguard!" A voice yelled, before Remus was tackled to the ground.
"Unhand the fine maiden or I'll run you through!" Yelled another voice.
"Maiden?!" Remus cried, wriggling free from the body on top of him and scurrying to his bed. "What are you doing?"
James Potter came tumbling into view, stopping at Remus' feet. He had the most ridiculous hat on, his Gryffindor tie wrapped around his forehead, and a wooden sword in his hand.
"Fair maiden! Are you well?" He cried, grabbing Remus' hand and pulling him into an awkward embrace.
"Lemme go!" Remus said as James crushed his ribs.
"Ha! You and your lover will never escape my grasp!" Sirius jumped onto the bed and flourished his sword, nearly smacking himself in the face. "Unguard!"
James pushed Remus out of the way as Sirius thrust his sword at them. The sounds of wood clacking filled the room as James and Sirius jumped and twirled around the room, trading barbs.
"You fight like your mother!"
"Have you met my mum? That's a compliment."
Remus watched in complete befuddlement as the two continued to spar. He realized the feathers were coming from Sirius' pillows which had been ripped open and strewn about.
"Your maiden shall be mine!"
"You scallywag! You'll never take them!"
Remus sighed. He didn't know when or why they decided he was going to be a maiden. He had just wanted to take a nap before dinner. Resigning himself to his fate, Remus conjured another wooden sword and hopped onto his bed.
"You're both scoundrels! I will fight for my own hand!"
2 hours later, Peter came in to find the three boys lying tangled in ripped pillows and bed curtains, bruises beginning to form all over their bodies, and exhausted smiles fixed on their faces.
Naps could wait.
