I only own my OC, Taylor, I do not own Tess, Carmelita, or any of the Kubo and the Two Strings characters.
Taylor, and her friends soon caught up with Kubo, he saw them, and asked, "What do you girls want?"
Taylor replied, "I'm sorry, we just need some place to stay. You think we can stay with you for a while, please?"
Kubo looked at them, and said, "Okay, I just hope mother will accept this," so Kubo, Taylor and Carmelita continued up to the mountain, with Tess on Taylor's shoulders.
They soon reached the mountain, and into a cave, where the woman from Taylor's vision was sitting there. Taylor also sees that cut she got has left a scar. Soon the sun set, and Kubo's mother said weakly, "Kubo," she blinked a bit, and said again, "Kubo."
"Yes, Mother," grabbing his mother's hand, lifting it and said, "I'm here."
His mother sighed and smiled, but then looks at the three strangers behind him, and asked, "Who are you three?"
Taylor bowed, and replied, "I am Taylor Fearbrave, and with me is Carmelita, and Tess," Tess and Carmelita bowed, then Taylor soon said, "We're sorry for coming here, but we wish for a place to stay, just for a day or two."
Kubo's mother soon said, "Very well, I am Sariatu, Kubo's mother," Kubo's mother, Sariatu soon bowed.
"Thank you, Sariatu," Taylor said, bowing back.
Kubo soon asked everyone, "Hungry?" Everyone looked at him and they all nodded.
After having a meal of rice, Sariatu begins telling the story of Hanzo's adventure, "And even though he could barely see his own hand in front of his face, Hanzo and his army of loyal samurai pressed on through the blizzard." Sariatu soon twirled a bit and mimics some whooshing of the wind, Kubo giggles at that, his mother continued, kneeling down towards him, "And suddenly, as quickly as it started," Sariatu soon hugs Kubo, and said while waving her hand, "the storm cleared before him. Hanzo breathed a sigh of relief, for he was home."
"His fortress?" Kubo asked, and said, "The Beetle Clan Castle!"
"Yes," Sariatu replied, getting up, and said, "At the very edge of the Far Lands," she turned to her, and hid her mouth behind her kimono covered arm, and said while lowering her arm down, hidden from the Moon King by powerful magic."
Taylor, Tess, and Carmelita were amazed at the story, but Taylor soon remembered the vision, for the fortress was destroyed, but then Kubo asked, "And then what happened, when he got to the castle?"
Sariatu paused, and asked, "When who got to the castle?"
"Hanzo! My father!" Kubo replied.
"Hanzo... Hanzo was at the castle?" Sariatu asked, she soon thought and said, "He..." she soon turned and said, "Just give me a second. I'm... No. It's gone. I can't..." Kubo soon picked up the origami Hanzo, as Sariatu said, "I'm sorry, Kubo." He looked at it, as his mother said, "Perhaps I could recall a different story."
Taylor soon knew that bonk on the head during the vision must've caused some damage to Sariatu's memory.
Kubo soon asked, "Mother, what was Father like?"
Sariatu turned, smiled, and replied, "Oh. This one is easy," she soon did poses like she was holding a sword, then like she was about to shoot an arrow, and said, "Hanzo was a mighty warrior, skilled with sword and bow."
"No, what was he really like?" Kubo asked, then said looking at the origami, "When he wasn't fighting, when he was with us."
Sariatu exhales with a smile, and said, kneeling to her son, "He was just like you."
"Like me?" Kubo asked.
"Yes," Sariatu replied, paused then continued, "Strong, and clever, and funny," she soon reached and pinched lightly Kubo's cheek, and said, "and, oh, so handsome."
Kubo got his mother's hand off his cheek, rubbed it with his arm, and said, "Ugh. Mother."
Taylor, Tess, and Carmelita laughed, while Sariatu chuckles and said, "Come on!" Sariatu paused, then said, "Never forget how much he loved you, Kubo. He died protecting us."
The girls soon frowned, and bowed their heads upon hearing that, and Kubo soon felt sad, then asked, "Did the Moon King..."
"Uh," Sariatu interrupted her son, and said, "Your grandfather."
Kubo soon asked, "Did Grandfather and your sisters really kill my father? It can't be true, can it? They're family."
"With people who do this, I doubt they are family, especially when I saw an elderly man tried to sacrifice his granddaughter for immortality," Taylor said, recalling an experience from a past adventure."
"What?" Kubo asked.
"I'll explain later," Taylor replied, she looked at Sariatu and said, "Unless I am wrong."
Sariatu replied, putting her hands on Kubo's arms, "No, Taylor you're right, like that man, they are monsters." She turned to her son, and said, "Grandfather and my sisters stole your eye, Kubo. They must never find you again. Never!" This was scaring Kubo, as his mother said, "You must always stay hidden from the night sky, or they will find you and they'll take you away from me. Promise me you will never let this happen. Promise me, Kubo!" Kubo nodded in reply. Sariatu soon calmed down, then picked up a trinket that looked like a monkey, and said in a mimicking voice, "Don't be sad, Kubo." She waves the trinket and asks, "Kubo?" Kubo looks at the trinket, while Sariatu asks still in the voice, "Remember what you must do, Kubo?" Sariatu chuckles at this, then asks again, "Remember?"
Kubo sighs, and replied, "Keep you with me at all times, Mr. Monkey.
"And?" she asked.
"And keep Father's robes on my back at all times," Kubo smiles a bit.
"Yes, Kubo," Sariatu said, lowers the trinket, and said, "And there's one more thing," she leans toward her son, and said, "Never, ever stay out after dark," she lifted the trinket up and asked while smiling, "Huh? Remember?"
Kubo soon moved the trinket out of the way, and replied, "Yes, Mr. Monkey."
"Good boy," Sariatu said, and she hugs him, then chuckles, then she yawns, then felt her energy fade, and she looked like how Taylor saw her before the sun set.
Kubo soon said, "Bedtime." He soon helped his mother lay down, put some covers over her, and blew out the candle. Taylor, Tess, and Carmelita soon thought to sleep as well.
Later that night, Taylor was awake, looking at the night sky, despite not seeing the moon. Then she heard something, she turned and saw that the paper was moving around, which woke up all but Sariatu. They all look at the papers floating around them, some taking strange shapes, then they heard Sariatu panting, Taylor might think it's a nightmare, for she was moving frantically in her sleep. Kubo soon went to her, and said, "Mother, wake up. You're dreaming."
"No. Kubo," she said while waking up, when she did, the paper stopped floating and went down all over the floor, some even buried Tess, which caused Taylor and Carmelita to giggle a bit, but heard Sariatu asked, "Kubo, is that you?"
"Yes, Mother. I'm here," Kubo replied.
Sariatu soon smiled, but frowned, stood up, and asked while putting a hand to his face, "Kubo, what happened to your eye?"
Taylor soon knew she barely remembers after that hit in the head, but Kubo soon helped Sariatu go back to sleep, and the others sleep as well.
So, Taylor and the others met Kubo's mother, Sariatu, who I also looked on Wikipedia the name, but Taylor feels sorry for Sariatu, for she was losing her memory since she got bonked on her head.
