A/N - It's been a very long time since I last updated, I'm so sorry! Thank you so much for waiting, I hope this is okay!

Say you'll come with me

Her strong yet fragile heart was pleading. She remained, clinging to hope that the silence would soon be filled. Seconds felt like hours. "You won't come with me?" She urged again. Just as a weary expression began emerging on Kristoff's face, Anna continued. "I'll go alone." She said, setting forth with her ever decreasing confidence. That was bravery, something Elsa had always commended her for.

"No, I'll come" Kristoff called, Olaf had arrived beside him in an instant, eager to bring everyone together again.

"Okay, lets go." Anna straightened up, filled with determination.

"They have to be around here somewhere." Anna sighed, this terrain was unforgiving, especially when it was so dark.

"Anna they might not even be here." Kristoff warned. "They're busy you know, with.. erm..."

"With what?" Olaf asked, Anna stopped momentarily.

"Troll stuff." Kristoff shrugged. "It's hard to keep up with." Anna chuckled, before venturing forward. It was a half hour before they found them, there was light, a gentle glow that gave Anna hope. They ground rumbled beneath them, and soon the trio were being smothered in hugs and compliments. It was uplifting, in such a dark time to be comforted.

"It's been too long!" One troll said. "You're family, we must see each other more often!"

"That's actually why I'm here." Anna started, stabilising herself on the ground - relieved she hadn't been standing on a troll. She chewed on her lip briefly, trying to find the words. "Elsa's stuck in the Enchanted Forest" She exhaled deeply, needing to compose herself. "You need to fix it, you need to bring her home." She said, seeing the trolls split into two groups, making way for Grand Pabbie. "I need your help" Anna continued, "I've tried just about everything, I can't do this alone."

"I heard what happened." Anna was thrown by his lack of urgency, he seemed too calm.

"And you're working to fix it?" She furrowed her brows. "You are, right?"

"Anna, you consider yourself a fatalist, don't you?"

She tilted her head, slightly bewildered that she wasn't being told a straight answer, that there wasn't an immediate yes. "Hm?"

"The universe brought you and Elsa together, you were meant to reunite" He prompted, to which Anna eagerly nodded.

"Yes, She's my sister, she's the very best of me" Anna smiled, she remembered how much joy they had together as children before the separation, she believed in happy endings.

Grand Pabbie trudged down the makeshift platform to Anna's side. Solemnly, he eased his hand into hers. Anna knelt down, listening earnestly.

"You and Elsa have experienced the very worst of life's possibilities, we've all witnessed it."

Anna held her breath, the light in her eyes beginning to dim as the sky above grew grey.

"And you - are once again choosing to bet against the universe."

"Because, after all we went through, the good things that came after made it all worth it. I will bet against anything that puts us apart, some things are just meant to be, Elsa and I are just meant to be, she's my sister."

It was true, Anna was stubborn. Being shut out for years, she had held onto the hope that she and Elsa would be reunited one day, it just made sense.

Grand Pabbie stammered, she watched this wise troll waver with uncertainty. "When I heard about the separation, I didn't think there would ever come a day you and your sister could live harmoniously..." Taking a deep breath, he said with finality, "Luck runs out. Sister or stranger - the universe can tear you two apart if it so wishes, some things are just meant to be."

She stepped back, they weren't working to fix this at all.

"So you mean to tell me you won't do anything?" Anna asked. Angry was an understatement, she was pissed off. "You're comfortable knowing, and doing nothing!?". This was the first time Anna truly felt like she was looking down on him. Even as Grand Pabbie went to speak, Anna robbed him of making an excuse, his lack of remorse said all she needed to know. "What use are you anyway?" She laughed wryly "From what I've heard you pretty much skipped past 'Love will Thaw', you're the reason we were separated at all! Scaring my family like that!" Her arms were flailing, unable to keep her anguish inside. "This is the most communicative you've been since.. - since ever! - and that's what you say!?" She huffed, shaking her head and turning her back to him. "You don't know shit, Grand Pabbie! Fuck you!" She cursed loudly with finality.

"I'm never talking to that wretched old piece of rock again! Ever!" Anna declared, her stare doubling down on Kristoff, who had been having his own family reunion some distance away.

"Hey - that's my family Anna, you can't talk like that!" Kristoff said, perplexed. He silently apologised to the trolls surrounding him, ushering them away.

"I'm sorry, I just meant him." Anna choked, gesturing to where she had just come from. Her heart clenched as she watched the other trolls wander away from her, whispering amongst themselves, it was their glances back at her that only furthered her guilt. She couldn't look up. Her throat was raw, lip quivering.

"Anna?" He prompted, Anna however kept her back to him.

"He doesn't know anything." Anna sniffled, Kristoff couldn't be sure if she was talking to him.

Sister, or stranger - The universe can just as easily tear you two apart.

She began to pace, her eyes fixed to whatever step came ahead of her. The world was tuned out, the only noise coming from the nonsense he had spouted swirling in her head, faster amd faster creating a tornado. The storm was spilling, and tears were rolling down her face.

"Anna what did he say?" Kristoff asked more urgently, making poor effort to intercept Anna's path.

Wanting a hug from Elsa, she became painfully aware of how far away she was. She felt homesick. Turning to Kristoff, she used the hem of her sleeve to wipe her eyes. "Where's Olaf?"

"With Sven" Kristoff replied. Seeing that she had been crying, he began "Anna-"

"- Go and get him, we're leaving." Anna informed.

"Sure." He watched Anna turn around again, she was hurt, and failing to hide it. "Are you okay?"

"I just need a moment." Anna looked down to the floor.

"Okay, we'll go when you're ready." He said quietly.

And she stood there, alone on that cliffside, crying. Her tears fell into the river below, dropping with her heart in her chest. It was like she was a kid again, begging every adult who supposedly were more able, more knowledgeable, and reliable, to help her get her sister back to her. It all led to no avail, she had to find out alone.

She would do this alone too.
