I only own my OC, Taylor, I do not own Tess, or any of the Kubo and the Two Strings characters.
Taylor and Tess soon rose from the ground and were somewhere cold and snowy. They both felt a bit warm despite the frigid climate, Taylor soon thinks it might be the kimonos. Taylor soon said, "Okay Tess, let's find him." Tess nodded, and Taylor begins to walk through the storm. Calling for Kubo, until she sees something in the distance, she soon sees what looks like a Japanese Macaque, or snow monkey, and next to it was a familiar figure, Taylor soon said, "Kubo!"
The Monkey looks at them, and asked in a female's voice, "Who are you, and how did you get here?" She soon looked then said, "Wait, you're the girl that he brought to the cave, Taylor Fearbrave."
Taylor nodded, then looks at Kubo and asked, "How is he?"
"He's breathing," the monkey replied. She looks at him, and said, "Kubo. Kubo!" Kubo soon woke up a bit, as the monkey asked, "Can you hear me, Kubo?" Kubo gasps, and looks around, and sees no one but the monkey, Tayllor and Tess, as the monkey said, "I said your mother is gone. Your village is destroyed. Burned to the ground."
"Despite that, there are some survivors, Kameyo, Hashi, Hosato, and his daughter is among the, I left Carmelita to search for more survivors," Taylor said.
Kubo soon got up, and tried to get away from them, then the monkey said, "We landed here in the Far Lands. Your enemies aren't far behind." Kubo soon tries to back away from the monkey, but she soon said, "We must search for shelter before your grandfather comes." Kubo stops when he touched the shamisen. The monkey walked towards him, and said, "We need to go now," she turns around, then looks back, and said, "Come on, get up, let's go." Kubo looks around, then gets up, grabs the shamisen, goes and gets on her back and she begins to move, with Taylor running with it through the blizzard. Eventually it was getting dark, but they found shelter, which was a carcass of a whale, the monkey soon said, "Once we're inside, you might be tempted to complain about the odor," they gaze at the whale, then the monkey said, "Keep in mind my sense of smell is 10 times stronger than yours." She then looks at Tess, then said, "And I think it's the same thing to the rat on Taylor's shoulder."
"Ottsel, I'm an ottsel," Tess said, surprising Kubo and the monkey.
Taylor groans and said, "Not again."
The monkey clears her throat, and goes down to the whale, while Taylor and Kubo followed her. Inside the whale, the group sat around a fire, which was cooking a broth of something. The monkey soon moved the stuff in the broth, while Taylor and Tess were sitting across from each other, while Kubo looks in shock at the monkey. She scratches her chest, took out a bug, eats it, then yawns, showing her canines. Kubo still stares at her, Taylor notices it, and said, "Kubo, it's not polite to stare."
They soon see the monkey scratch her back with her left hind leg, but then looks at the group, then said, "You have questions, Kubo, I can tell. I do too, but one for Taylor," she looks at Taylor and said, "How did you and Tess get to the Far Lands from the village?"
Taylor soon replied, "I used a new ability, Teleportation," she soon looked at a spot not far from them, touched the ground with the diamond part of her staff, spins into a circle, then was engulfed in a light, sank down, but rose up not far from them. Kubo and Monkey were surprised, Taylor soon went back to the fire and said, "I know, impressive, but that's not all I can do." She then tapped the diamond on her staff, and soon she disappeared, she soon reappeared, and said, "Invisibility, and many others, including Median Vision, which I used in the festival and saw the spirits." Kubo was surprised, Taylor looked at him, then said, "And no, Kubo, I didn't see your father, which makes me believe that he might still be alive."
The monkey soon said, "Well, that is surprising anyway, now for your questions Kubo."
Kubo soon asked, "Who..."
"You get three," the monkey replied, interrupting him.
Kubo paused, then said, "I think I have more."
The monkey said nothing, then said, "Three, but first you're gonna eat."
"Why only three?" Kubo asked.
"Okay, that was your first question," Monkey replied.
"What? I don't understand what's happening!" Kubo exclaimed, then asked, "Who are you?"
The monkey looked and asked, "You don't recognize me?" She soon sat in a position, and Taylor, Tess, and Kubo then recognize her as the trinket Kubo was supposed to keep with him at all times. She soon said, "All these years, you had to keep me in your pack. Well, now you know why."
"But you were a wooden charm," Kubo said, spaced his index finger and thumb, and said, "You were this big," he widened his eyes, and said, "I called that charm 'Mr. Monkey.'"
"More like a 'Ms. Monkey,'" Taylor said, causing the monkey to glare at her, then she said, "Sorry."
"Anyway, if I were alive at that point, I might have found that insulting," Monkey said, paused a bit, then said, "Look, your mother used the last of her magic to save you and bring me to life."
Taylor, Tess, and Kubo, bowed their heads, since they now know Sariatu was gone, the monkey looked at them as well, then remembers the broth got some stuff to scoop it up, and said to Kubo, "Here. Drink."
Kubo took the broth, sniffs it, retched, then said, "It smells."
"Everything in here smells," Monkey said.
"Yeah, I'll say," Tess said.
Monkey soon said to Kubo, "Drink it."
"I don't want it," Kubo replied, trying to give it back.
Monkey pushed it back to him, and said, "I said drink it."
"You're a mean monkey, aren't you?" Kubo asked.
Monkey smirks, and replied, "Yes. Yes, I am. And that's three. You're out of questions now, so just listen," she walks back to her spot, then continued, "I'm here to protect you, Kubo, and I believe Taylor and Tess are as well," Taylor and Tess nodded, then Monkey continued, "And that means you three have to do as I say. So, if you don't eat, you'll be weak," she grabs another bowl, and said, "If you're weak, you'll be slow. If you're slow, you'll die," she scoops up the broth for herself.
"Point taken," Taylor said, while she and Tess scooped up some broth, and drank it, and eventually got it down with relief, Taylor soon said, "A little hot, but actually, not bad," Monkey was soon please by Taylor
Kubo soon showed a face of disgust, slurps it, but exclaims, dropping it back into the bowl, and yelled while fanning his mouth, "It's too hot!"
Monkey placed her bowl down, took his, blows on it, gave it back, and said, "Drink."
Kubo soon did some loud slurping, shocking Taylor, Tess, and Monkey, he then said, "Oh, excuse me."
"Real mature, Kubo," Tess said.
He soon did it again, then Monkey had enough, put her bowl down, and said, "Okay, you better start taking this seriously, Kubo. This is real. This is not a story." Kubo glares at Monkey, as she continues, "Those things, your aunts, they never get hungry. They never sleep. They will find you! And if we're not prepared, they'll kill me, and maybe Taylor and Tess and take your other eye."
Kubo was then shocked.
"Well, I can at least see if they might be nearby," Taylor said, getting a confused look by Kubo, and Monkey, Taylor then took out the feather, and said, "This feather might be from their capes, so I can use one of my abilities, Enhanced Clairvoyance, and see things from their point-of-view, and I can give you guys a heads up."
"Hm, you are really impressing us," Monkey said.
"Thank you," Taylor replied.
Despite what Taylor said, Kubo felt sad, thought, and asked, "What are we gonna do?"
"I thought you were out of questions?" Tess asked.
"This one's free," Monkey said to Tess.
Kubo soon remembered one thing, looked at Taylor, and said, "Where's Carmelita, anyway?"
"She's back at the village, or whatever's left of it, helping Hashi, Hosato, his daughter, and Kameyo search for more survivors," Taylor replied.
Kubo sighed in relief that his friend is still alive.
Monkey then said, "Now back to what you asked me Kubo. We're going to find the armor. It's the only thing that can protect you."
"So, it's real. Really real," Kubo said, remembering the stories he and his mother told, which Monkey nodded in reply.
"Yeah, real as many adventures Tess and I mostly did," Taylor said.
"What?" Kubo asked.
"I'll explain later," Taylor replied.
Kubo soon had a strand of hair that he pulled from Sariatu, Monkey held out her hand, but Kubo retract it, she soon said, "Don't worry. I'm not going to keep it."
Kubo soon gave it to her, and said, "I pulled it from her head. I didn't mean to."
Monkey soon twirled the hair, while saying, "Your mother was very powerful. She blessed your robes so when the need was most, they would fly you away. She used the last of that power to bring me to life," she soon turned it into something, and said, "This bracelet, her hair, it's a memory. And memories are powerful things, Kubo," she gives it to him, and said, "Never lose it."
Kubo held out his left arm, and Monkey ties the hair to his wrist, then he asked, "One more question?"
"Last one," Monkey replied, stirring the broth.
"Do you know where it is?" Kubo asked, causing Monkey to look at him, then he asked, "The armor?"
"No. No, I don't," Monkey replied. Kubo soon was disappointed, then Monkey said, "Now, go to sleep."
"Yeah, it might be a good time to get some shut eye," Taylor said, she soon lied down, and said, "Goodnight."
Tess laid down as well, so did Kubo, who said, "Goodnight, Taylor, Tess, and Monkey," and both he and Tess went to sleep, Taylor looks at monkey, who smiles, and kept watch, while she too went to sleep.
Taylor has found Kubo, and now they will soon begin to find the armor. Will they, along with Tess and Monkey find it? Anyway, if you're reading this, thanks for reading.
