As the days passed the ants grew more accustomed to living in the valley and got more acquainted with the residence. But the ants, sans Atta, Dot, and The Queen, were not happy to see Flik. But Flik didn't care about them anymore. The two princesses were secretly watching Flik and the little dinosaurs play tag.
"I just don't understand." Atta said. "Why does Flik not care I'm, I mean we're back in his life and isn't begging to be let back in the colony."
"Because, he's gone from being mistreated by you and the council to living with a family that loves him." Dot answered. "I mean just look how much fun their having."
"I didn't mistreat Flik." Atta said defending herself.
"You kind of did." Dot rejected. "But why do you even care what he does? I mean the only way I can think of is if you-" Dot said before stopping. "Wait do you like Flik?" She asked.
Atta was surprised and nervous. "Eww, no way. Your crazy." She shouted.
"Okay, okay, I was just asking." Dot exclaimed "Calm down."
"Sorry, but don't say that again." Atta said.
"Okay. Can I go play too?" Dot asked.
Atta looked concerned but then figured there would be no harm. "Alright, just try not to get stepped on." She answered.
Dot started leaving but then paused a bit. "By the way, when are you gonna ask Flik out?" She chuckled before leaving.
Atta just walked away. Meanwhile Dot made her way to Flik and the dinosaurs. "Hi can play with you guys?" Dot asked them.
"Sure." Littlefoot told her. Cera walked up to her and tagged her. "You're it."
"Hey no fair!" Dot said as she began chasing them. But they were stopped by laughing. It was Marl and Loid. "Hey look, it's little Speck playing with a bunch of dinosaurs." Marl said.
"The name is Dot." Dot told him.
"Well, Spot we-" Loid said but Cera cut him off. "Hey we don't play with or let mean kids hang around us. Go away!"
"Yeah kids like you that aren't welcome, aren't welcome." Ruby yelled.
"So scat, you ants before I get hungry." Chomper said.
Marl and Loid just ran off in fear.
"Wow." Dot said.
Later she was back with Atta. "And then they told Marl and Loid off and they didn't dare talk back. And then we played tag all day. It was awesome!"
Atta was very impressed. "Wow, pretty cool." Then she decided something. "Dot stay here, I'm gonna go do something." She said before leaving.
Flik was walking around alone and Atta showed up. "Hey Flik."
He looked back. "Princess Atta?"
"Flik, can we talk please." She asked.
"Sure." He answered.
"Well I was just wondering how you came to live here." She asked.
He explained the story of how he met Littlefoot and the others. They saw Littlefoot heading home with two other Apatosaurs.
"Oh they must be Littlefoot's parents." Atta thought.
"Well actually they're his grandparents." Flik corrected her.
"Oh. But wait in all my time here I've never even met Littlefoot's mother where is she?" Atta wondered.
Flik got worried at this question. "Uh classified."
Atta got confused. "What? Why?"
"None of your business." Flik said before leaving in a hurry. Atta looked suspiciously at him.
Later at night. Atta was sneaking out when she was caught. "Atta."
She turned around and saw Dot, Marl, and Loid.
"Going to spy on Flik?" Atta just nodded. "So are we." With that they snuck out.
They came to see Flik asleep with the Apatosaurs. Suddenly Flik began to shiver in the cold of the night.
"Well I bet he's missing the warm and cozy anthill now." Marl said quietly.
"Serves him right." Loid added. "Wouldn't you say?" Atta and Dot didn't say anything.
Suddenly Flik awoke and felt something around him. Littlefoot had woken up from Flik's shivering and wrapped his tail around him to keep him warm. The two smiled at each other and Littlefoot snuggled and wrapped himself around Flik and the two went back to sleep.
"Aww that's so sweet, cute, and thoughtful of Littlefoot." Atta said.
"Yeah, he has to be the nicest person I've ever met."
Marl and Loid just stared at them blankly they didn't understand why Littlefoot and the other dinosaurs would show Flik so much kidness but the dinos saw Flik completely different from the way they and the other ants did.
The four ants soon went back to the anthill before someone realized they were gone.
