I only own my OC, Taylor, I do not own Tess, or any of the Kubo and the Two Strings characters.
Taylor and Tess soon woke up, but then saw Monkey trying to wake up Kubo. She whispers, "Kubo." He soon woke up, seeing the face of Monkey, who said, "You were talking in your sleep. You were dreaming, calling out to your father, and then the paper flew out of your bag and folded itself into him," she pointed with her thumb an origami paper fold of a man in samurai armor with a beetle symbol on its chest, making them think he might be a Little Hanzo. Taylor and Tess were shocked, along with Kubo.
"What was he been doing after that happened?" Taylor asked.
Monkey replied, "He's been standing there for hours, quietly judging us." Kubo got up, walking with a smile towards the samurai, Taylor, Tess, and Monkey soon followed him.
"Wow, it must've taken a miracle to make this magically in your sleep Kubo," Tess said.
Everyone soon sits near the samurai, as Monkey said, "I'm not even convinced this can count as origami." They see the man turn towards the group, as Monkey said, "I could swear scissors were involved."
Kubo tries to reach for the samurai, but it hits his hand with his sword, Kubo retracts his hand and said, "Ow," Kubo then explained, "Back home in the cave, my mother's dreams did this, and the paper always unfolded itself by morning." Little Hanzo soon turned, and walked towards an exit, which the others looked as he moved, climbed up a pile of snow, and points at the exit with his sword.
Everyone looks in confusion then Monkey asked, "What's that about?"
Kubo gets up, walks to Little Hanzo, while putting on his back the shamisen, grabs him, and turns him away from where he was pointing, which Little Hanzo then looks back at the exit, used his heels to go back to the position he original was before Kubo moved him. Kubo did the same thing, getting the same result. Kubo soon asked Little Hanzo, "What are you doing?" Little Hanzo soon dropped his arms, shook his head in frustration, points his sword a t Kubo, and swings it to the exit. Kubo looks up, then said to the group, "I guess this is how my father answered me, despite he might still be alive."
"This might come in handy," Taylor said.
Monkey looks at it and said while Little Hanzo moves towards the exit, "Hmm. I'm tempted to say that entrusting our fate to the guidance of a small paper man seems like a bad idea." She paused, then said, "But it's the best bad idea we have."
"Well, Tess, you ready for another journey," Taylor said.
"Yeah, you and me, Taylor on another great adventure," Tess said, climbing onto Taylor's shoulder.
Taylor smiles, then said, "I just hope Carmelita is doing fine finding more survivors in the village, but I can't see for myself, since I forgot to get an item to used Enhanced Clairvoyance to see things through her eyes."
The group soon began to walk across the snow, Tess soon said, "You know it's a bit odd that we aren't getting cold, maybe our kimonos must be really keeping us warm."
"I might think you're right Tess," Taylor said, who soon looks, and said, "And look at some of these statues, must've been some great architecture back in the day."
Taylor soon sees Little Hanzo, pointing the way on the shamisen, Kubo soon heard a bird chirping, smiled, looked at it, moved the shamisen, which caused Little Hanzo to be on Kubo's shoulder, and began playing it. While playing, a piece of paper flew up, and folded into an origami bird, this surprised the bird and caused it to fly away, but the origami bird followed it. The bird tried to attack the bird with its feet, then flew away with the origami bird chasing it, everyone watches, while Kubo keeps playing, stops, then played some more, causing more paper to fly up, and folding into more origami birds, this caused the real bird to be really shocked, and flew away, but the other birds chased it, everyone watches, then Kubo ran past them, Taylor and Tess, soon see the birds, and ducked, while Monkey's fur got blown by the wind made by the birds, until it was all poofy. Kubo soon stopped running, as the birds circle around him, then helped him up, and showed that he might have wings, he soon stopped playing and screams and falls down a ledge. Taylor, Tess and Monkey were shocked, and went to the ledge.
They looked down and Taylor asked, "Kubo, are you okay?"
They soon hear him laughing, for it was a small fall, and it was cushioned by the snow, Taylor soon laughed a little since Little Hanzo was trying to make a snow angel.
Everyone soon went down to where Kubo is, Mankey soon said, "You're growing stronger," Kubo was smiling, but frowns as Monkey said, "You might not wanna look quite so pleased about that." She soon grabs Kubo's shoulders, and helped him up, then said while brushing the snow off him, "We grow stronger, the world grows more dangerous." She soon gets some snow off Kubo's face and said, "Life has a funny way of keeping things balanced."
"You're right on that, Monkey," Taylor said.
Kubo soon asked, "Monkey, do you ever say something encouraging?"
Monkey looked at him, and replied, "I encourage you not to die," she then smiles, lets her tongue out, laps her hand with it, and used it to move Kubo's hair that was covering his eyepatch, tapped his head, turned around, and kept moving.
"Well, that wasn't much encouraging," Tess said.
Kubo was shocked, but glared, then muttered to mimic what Monkey said, "'I encourage you not to die.'" He shook his head, and the hair covered his eyepatch again, and kept moving, along with Taylor and Tess. Taylor soon felt something, as if someone was watching them, but dropped it, and looked on ahead. Taylor soon sees Kubo looking at one of the origami birds, which were all following them, he then thought of something, Taylor knew what he was thinking, which isn't good, he then strums the shamisen, and the bird soon hits Monkey by the rear, surprising her with a grunt. Kubo laughed a bit, but looked surprised, as Monkey rubbed her rear, glaring and growling at him. He soon hit his neck, rubbed it, and said, "Mosquitos. Annoying."
"Mosquitos don't thrive in the cold, Kubo," Taylor said, causing him to be surprised, while Monkey still glares at him, but then turned to keep moving. Kubo soon got the mischievous smile, looks up at the origami birds, but three of the flew down, causing Kubo to worry, while the birds turn into mosquitos, causing Taylor to say, "Unless they are made of paper."
Monkey then jumped and grabbed the origami mosquitos with her arms and left hind leg, and landed in the snow, which cleared, showing her glaring again. Kubo soon gulped, Monkey soon went to him, and he said, "Wasn't me, I swear."
She soon shows him the paper, he then grins, but then she turns him around, and puts the paper back in his pack, and said, "Paper runs out, as does patience."
"I didn't ask them to do that," Kubo said, then Monkey turns him back to face him, then Kubo said, "The second time." Monkey glared at him, then Kubo said, "I didn't! At least, not exactly. I mean, I felt it, but..."
Monkey soon interrupted him by saying, "Magic is not meant to be easy. You need to learn control. Concentrate on what you're doing, and always remember," she then poked him in the chest, and warned, "don't mess with the monkey." She then turned to keep moving.
Tess soon went onto Kubo's shoulder, and asked, "So, to you, lesson learn?" Kubo nodded, and everyone kept moving.
Well, the group got a new member, despite being small, and Kubo's getting the hang of the magic more, despite still can't get much control, but what was that feeling that Taylor felt.
