AOOOB C8

So basically This will be a filler chapter but then again most of the first season of Avatar tended to be a filler until reaching the North Pole.

I own nothing.

:Chapter Start:

The Great Gorge-several days after the Jet Incident

Sokka was packing up their camp nearby a large canyon that they would be flying over today after camping next to the location after spotting a stone hut near a broken downward ramp. They stayed there for the night after Aang spotted the Canyon and wanted to explore the edge before continuing to travel North. Sokka sighs as Ankh growls at the last piece of Rock Candy he had left to eat before he began eating it as everyone was cleaning up the camp site. They were doing this in silence as Sokka and Kitara were still upset to each other.

Aang was upset that the two were fighting, while Ankh simply found it annoying. Though everything froze as two Earth Kingdom villagers, one appearing as a barbarian while the other looked really wealthy. The two arrived at the same time and started arguing about who would travel the Gorge first. Sokka shakes his head as he continues packing up camp. Aang frowns at the two before asking, "Why can't both your clans go together?"

It was a simple idea and would work except for one thing, Two clans of idiots as both refused as the two Clans were seen walking together while shouting at each other in anger. They would have continued arguing when the Guide through the Gorge arrived and says, "I am the Guide," Sokka blinked at that before hearing him continue, "For those travelling through the Gorge must follow this one simple rule, NO FOOD IN THE GORGE!" causing both groups to argue until the Guide states, "This Gorge has many dangers the biggest is the local wildlife and Food attracts them. Now who intends to cross the Gorge."

Unfortunately this was when the two clans start fighting again and Aang learning that the Gorge could only be crossed once a month due to the current conflict with the Fire Nation, so the three day journey only occured on the day of the full moon. Aang decided to follow his duty as the Avatar as he says, "How about everyone crosses while Appa flies the Young and Elderly over the Gorge. Then we can help ensure that any of the Wildlife does not attack."

At this point the two groups question who he was and Aang introduces himself as the Avatar and then both groups accepted his offer while both warning him about the other clan. Eventually all the Young and Elderly were put onto Appa while the rest of the clans ate most of their food to not waste it. Once the sun reached noon the Guide led the large group to the downward broken ramp as they continue along before the Guide fixed the bridge and once they reached the bottom the Guide destroyed the path back and when asked about it the Guide says, "We can't have the Fire Nation Follow us."

With that they travelled for several hours with the two clans bickering the entire time. Ankh and Aang did not like that as were struggling to shout back at them. Unfortunately before they could shout at the two clans as an army of Literal Giant Ants started attacking the large group resulting in the Guide having a bone broken in his right leg and his left arm. Unfortunately that was the point where Aang had enough when each Clan started shouting at one another blaming the other clan for this mess. Aang shouts, "I have had enough of your bickering! So from this point on, each clan will be kept apart with me in the middle," he points at the large stone wall splitting the two sides of the Gorge path. Aang with Ankh's help carried the injured Guide up on top of the stone wall as the two clans split, with Sokka walking with the Barbarian group and Kitara with the other.

They continued walking until nightfall where both groups made their camps, with Sokka and Kitara were shocked to learn that their group brought food into the Gorge assuming the other clan would do the same. Kitara accepted their reasons while Sokka was upset with his group. Kitara and Sokka would then go on to ask why the two clans hate each other.

As it turns out the clan that appears wealthy clan, a hundred years ago, had completed a ritual to send one male to take the Orb of Light through a mountain pass through two gates along the mountain pass. The issue was that the path took the Male with the orb pass the Barbarian village. For several hundred years the Barbarians let the other clan to their ritual. About a hundred years ago, the ritual started only the man was attacked by an unknown thieves searching for the Orb only a member of the Barbarian Village helped the man completing the ritual to the Barbarian village who was injured in the fight and had asked for the man who saved him to complete the ritual in his stead. This is where the story splits to two different versions.

The wealthy looking clan believed that the Barbarian clan stole the orb and was caught and imprisoned until the day he died.

The Barbarians completed the quest and after helping the Ritual Man return to the village they were blamed for the Orb never being returned and the culprits. Their clan member who completed the quest had been killed for being a thief.

But what both clans can agree on, the Orb was lost and neither clan knew what really happened.

Next day-Midday-Gap in the stone barricade.

As the two clans rested away from each other Sokka and Kitara walked over to Aang and Kitara spoke first as Ankh stood on a rock as look out while he was starting to suffer a head ache for an unknown reason. Kitara spoke, "The Wealthies have done nothing wrong, they have had to deal with the Barbarians stealing from them and claim they are helping them."

Sokka simply says, "The Barbarians, under the assumption that the Wealthies would do the same, brought food," Aang was shocked before Sokka continued, "Also I don't think these guys know what they are fighting about anymore."

Kitara rolls her eyes before saying, "They stole from the Wealthies."

Sokka sighs as Ankh was gripping the side of his head. Sokka then continues, "Apparently the stories share one fact, the Wealthies got their Orb back but claim that the Orb was lost."

Aang simply asks, "What happened to it?"

Ankh gripped his head before his eyes turned from Red to Blue as he says in a calm voice, "The Fire Lord's treasury, Fire Nation stole the Orb, it had properties that enhance Waterbending," before falling down to his knees in pain.

Sokka rushed to his side and asks, "What's wrong?"

Ankh blinked several times as his eyes flash between blue and Red before staying red as he says, "I don't know. Something is wrong with this body."

Sokka simply asks, "Think you can handle it until we reach the North Pole."

Ankh growls and says, "I have too, unless you can find a new body for me."

Kitara simply says, "We can't just ask someone to give up their body," glaring at Ankh.

Sokka simply says, "I think he meant someone about to die, much like his current body."

Aang frowns before saying, "We need to get out the Gorge first," with that Ankh and Aang took the guide back up the next stone Barricade while Sokka and Kitara returned to their clan groups to continue walking.

Kitara though informed the Wealthies about the Barbarians bringing food into the Gorge and blaming them for the Giant Ant attack, which was unfair as they brought food as well and they completely ignored the fact they broke the rule of the Gorge.

Sokka informed them of what Kitara told them and says to the Barbarian Leader, "Hundred Years ago, why would the Fire Nation want to frame your Clan for stealing the Orb."

The Barbarian Leader blinks before they narrow and say, "Our Clan controlled the mouth of a River into the Earth Kingdom, when the two clans started fighting the Fire Nation destroyed our village and forced us to leave our home."

"Then you were blamed for the Wealthies from having to leave their home?" Sokka questioned and got a nod from the Barbarians. Sokka breathed heavily before they continued to walk through the Gorge until the made camp at the next gap in the Barricade for the night. Sokka stayed awake as he noticed a girl from the Barbarians left the group and met with a boy from the Wealthies and the two embraced. Sokka watched and could only smile at the pair before walking away to see Kitara spying on them.

Next day

Kitara was walking with the Wealthies mainly with the boy she spotted and tried to talk about what she saw to the boy the night before. Only the boy claimed that she must be dreaming while the Wealthies got angry about the apparent problem that Kitara revealed causing the two groups to almost get into a brawl about the Barbarian 'Tramp' forcing herself on the 'Manipulative' boy.

Aang was getting annoyed at this and the only reason he did not get the chance as Sokka got between the two clans and shouted, "That is enough!" everyone was silent as Sokka continued, "This is my friend Ankh, he is a demonic hand possessing the dying body of the Fire Nation. Ankh can access the memories of the body he is possessing and now knows where the Orb of Light is. The Fire Nation Stole it, and blamed the Barbarian Clan so that they could invade their home and gain access to the River they guarded that connected to your villages!" Everyone was silent before Sokka shouted at the Wealthies, "Let me guess, you guys brought food into the Gorge thinking the Barbarian Clan would do the same. Well guess what, both of your clans are fighting over something that the Fire Nation caused so get over yourselves and let these two people who love each other be the start of your future and focus your rage on the Fire Nation that kicked you out of your homes," with that Sokka started walking away only to stop turn around and take a couple apples out the Wealthies Clan leader's pocket and threw one to Ankh and the other to Aang to eat.

Ankh ate the apple completely while Aang looked at the apple and glared at the Wealthies before being exacerbated about the whole situation. Either way they reached the end of the Gorge and found a sheer wall they needed to climb and unfortunately they had no way of doing that until they had been attacked by Giant Ants and Aang managed to save everyone and coraled the Giant Ants enough for everyone to ride up the cliff and managed to get to safety as Aang threw the apple back down the cliff having all the Giant Ants follow him.

Aang was reunited with Appa and Aang just fell asleep on Appa's fur. Though he had to be awoken as he was asked to officiate the wedding between the two lovers and joining the two clans together and then the two clans left together walk to their new home at BaSingSa.

Kitara asks Sokka, "How much of what you told them are true?"

In answer, Sokka grabs the sketch pad that Ankh had in his pack before finding a sketch of what was clearly a room filled with treasure before pointing at the one item in the room that Ankh spoke about. Aang looked at the image carefully before blinking and says, "That looks like a CrabClam Pearl."

Ankh blinks again and his eyes were blue once more as he says, "Yeah, an old one about five or six hundred years old before being caught by fishermen," be blinks again and his eyes were red again as he asks, "Why does that keep happening?" Sokka was concerned for his friend as they loaded up Appa and continued their journey.

Random Fishing Village Several days later

Appa had landed at a random fishing village to purchase supplies only they did not accept Cell Medals as trade. Eventually they had tried talking to several market stalls and eventually sighs as they tried to make a plan at the docks. Apparently a storm was brewing and a Fisherman's crew were not willing to leave land due to the risk of a possible storm. The Fisherman's wife was even shouting at the man who wanted to still go out and fish this close to the end of the fishing season would be over in three days.

Sokka saw an opportunity as he stands and says, "I am going fishing, If I am not back in two days continue without me."

Kitara shouted at him, "We need supplies not fish!"

"We need money for supplies. So I am going to go earn some money to buy supplies," Sokka states before Ankh sighs.

Ankh stands and says, "I am going with you," Sokka blinks before Ankh continues, "Anything happens to you, I can't get more Cell Medals," with that the pair walked over to the Fisherman and offer to work for him to get minimum pay to buy supplies and they were offered full pay for a full catch of fish.

With that the three were on the fishing boat and the man took them out to sea as Sokka managed with the net while Ankh handled navigation for the trip. Unfortunately the Storm happened like it was expected only with Ankh at the helm they had no trouble through the night. Minimal damaged and a hold filled with fish before seeing Appa flying in after the storm to find a soaked Sokka and Ankh and a cackling fisherman with a hold filled with fish, his highest paying season yet.

Kitara and Aang were happy to see Sokka alive with Ankh after almost dying themselves from going to save Sokka. The issue was that Sokka was in better condition than Aang and Kitara, with Kitara learning the truth of why Aang vanished for a hundred years.

They returned to the village with the boat with minimal damage and helped sell the fish in the markets and managed to buy all the supplies they needed before flying on Appa heading North again until they were forced to land. Sokka becoming sick.

With Kazari-Fire Nation Regional Outpost

Kazari hidden in his human form walked around the Fire Nation soldiers like he belonged there before finding his target, Captain Zhao before smiling.
