"Hey" Jack said as he leaned on the doorframe to Ianto's Wardrobe Room.

"Hey your own self" came the cheeky reply as Ianto laid out a fine vintage sit and then searched for the right shirt to go with it.

"Dressing for something important?" Jack asked, drinking in the deep purple shirt that added to the dusky purple suit.

"Yep."

"Am I included?"

"Hmmm"

Jack headed to the bedroom to find his own suit already on the bed, the shoes freshly polished on the floor and socks neatly placed inside one. Ianto really thought of everything as the socks matched the tie. Oh, midnight blue.

Jack dressed with eagerness as he started to realize what was going on and by the time the handsome man in the vintage suit came to get him, he was ready to roll.

The back yard's gazebo was all decked out, the food was wonderfully waiting and Ianto was wonderfully attentive. Then came the music and dancing and the lights came on as dusk fell.

"Where are the kids?"

"Connor's. Watching the trial cams for a rabbit warren" Ianto breathed in his ear "We have ALL night… Shay is with Ton and Angel too."

"Oh wow… this impromptu Date Night is so wonderfully unexpected" Jack gushed happily "And soooo deserved. I finished the petting zoo."

"I know… you just have to have an opening and naming ceremony." Ianto agreed as they slow danced "But first… you need to help me learn how to pet affectively. You know I am all about the research"

"Oh… petting research?"

"Yeah. How hard. How often… when to pause… you know… I need a good teacher" Ianto let his chin fall to his chest so he was looking though those long lashes and Jack felt his pants suddenly become several sizes too small.

"I love you Ianto" Jack whispered "My whole life… you are my whole life."

"And you are mine Cariad. Without you… I … I don't know how Dad goes on without Tad. I know we will always be together, in the end… we will be together." Ianto said as he closed his eyes and let his head fall to Jack's shoulder "Remember that. If you are ever in danger and I am not there… you are not allowed to die. OK?"

"Oh baby… my death will come with you in my arms breathing your last breath first" Jack assured him "Nothing else will do."

"Sap."

"Hey! You started it!" Jack laughed as Ianto spun away and cheekily called over his shoulder "Come die with me Cariad… a small death."

Jack ran for his life.

His love.
