It was a beautiful summer day- the sun was shining, and the birds outside the palace were chirping happily. Belle and Prince Adam were having a wonderful breakfast in the grand dining room. "Are you enjoying your breakfast, Belle?" Adam asked. Belle smiled then replied, "Yes, I am. Thank you." Adam smiled brightly. After breakfast, Belle and Adam were helping to clean up the kitchen. Suddenly, Cogsworth entered, carrying a scroll in his left hand. He approached Prince Adam.
"Pardon my interruption, Master," Cogsworth said, continuing. "But, I have this note for Belle that just arrived." Adam kindly asked him to give the note to Belle, as he was busy helping Mrs. Potts with the dishes. Hearing the duo's conversation, Belle walked forward, carefully took the note from Cogsworth, thanked him, and left the room.
While Cogsworth left the room to carry on with his duties, Belle and Adam were just finishing cleaning up in the kitchen. Once they were completely finished, the couple walked over to the library to look at the mysterious note that was sent to Belle. When they entered, they sat down at a nearby table. Belle wondered who the note could be from. So to find out, she gently opened the scroll. Prince Adam watched as Belle unraveled the note. As Belle opened and read the note, she realized that it was from her father, Maurice. "It's from Papa," she said with excitement. Adam questioned what the note said. Then, Belle read the note allowed.
My Dear Belle,
Tomorrow is the first ever invention fair that is being held in the village. I have thought about entering it with my newest invention, which I have currently started. I will need your help in order to finish it on time. I will also need you to help me demonstrate it.
I would appreciate it very much if you could come to the village this afternoon after lunch or as soon as you can to help me set up and finish my invention. And if you would like, bring Prince Adam along, too. I sure could use all the help I can get.
I hope to see you and Prince Adam soon. I will be at the cottage, continuing to working on my invention.
Love your father,
Maurice
After reading the letter, Belle was very excited. "Oh, how exciting." Belle said, joyously. Prince Adam was also very happy to hear this good news, but at the same time, he felt nervous. Adam had not been to the village since he was a child- not since the curse was casted upon him. So, he didn't know what to expect. Would the villagers forgive me for the way I treated them twelve years ago? Would they accept me as their ruler once again, he questioned himself with doubt. Adam stood up from the chair and walked three steps forward. When Belle looked at Adam, she could immediately tell that something was wrong.
"Are you alright, Adam," Belle asked. Adam turned around and looked at her. "Oh, yes. I'm alright. It's just that, I haven't been to the village in a long time, and I'm afraid that the villagers will not believed that I have changed and might not accept me again as their ruler." Feeling concerned, Belle got up from her chair, walked towards Adam, gently placed her hand on his shoulder, looked at him lovingly, and said, "Don't worry, my dear. If you'd like, I would be happy to show you around the village and introduce you to everyone. Maybe it will help boost your public appearance as well as maintain your royal status and reputation. What do you think?" Hearing her sweet and gentle encouragement made Adam feel a little better. He looked at her and smiled. "I would like that very much. Thank you, Belle." They embraced each other happily.
