~~Hello everybody, I'm back with a new chapter.

I do not own any of the characters from My Hero Academia.

Only my original characters belong to me.~~

My alarm woke Ariel and me up at 7:00 in the morning.

Deku tiredly lifted his head and shook his ears.

I sat up and kissed the top of his head.

"Good morning Deku," I said.

The dog wagged his tail at me in response.

I then took a picture of his cute, droopy face.

Then I looked over at Tsu who was still asleep in the dog bed.

Ariel yawned while staring out the window.

"The sunrise is so pretty," she said.

"It sure is," I replied quietly.

I silenced the alarm after picking up my phone.

"Oops, sorry about that. I forgot to turn it off last night," I said nervously.

Ariel just giggled in amusement.

"I do that all the time," she replied.

Deku closed his eyes and curled up again.

I grabbed my necklace from the bedside table and then put it on.

Hitoshi Shinso was fresh on my mind for some odd reason.

I oddly adore that brainwashing quirk of his.

I silently wished he was able to use that wonderful quirk on Kara.

His low voice echoed in my head.

It sounded very pleasant and reassuring.

The Big Bang Theory had been temporarily wiped from my mind.

"Thank you Shinso," I thought while smiling.

I put the first disk back in the DVD player and then played episode 20.

Gasping in surprise, I suddenly felt my chest warming up.

"Wo, this is insane," I said frantically.

The jewel on my necklace began to heat up as the theme song played.

I was almost too afraid to touch it.

Sparks rose from the jewel as I carefully picked it up.

"You've got to come see this Ariel," I hollered.

Ariel quickly jumped off the couch and then rushed over to me.

She then looked down at the jewel in my hand. "How did this happen?"

"My necklace must be enchanted," I answered.

Ariel and I remained silent in complete shock.

We didn't know what would be in store for us today.

"Let's just watch the match between Shinso and Midoriya," I said, trying to brush off this whole topic.

"Good idea Sioku," she simply replied.

We continued watching Tv for two hours as the dogs slept.

Tsu woke up and let out a loud yawn.

Ariel and I laughed while looking at her.

"I love it when they do that," I said.

Ariel nodded her head in agreement.

Deku heard us laughing and sat up.

He stretched before climbing into my lap.

I lovingly wrapped my arms around him.

"Come here Tsu," said Ariel.

Tsu walked over to Ariel while wagging her tail.

I gave Tsu a pat on the head as she sat down at our feet.

Ariel checked the time on her phone. "It's after 9:00 Sioku. Let's take the dogs outside."

Deku jumped off of my lap and then headed for the door.

Tsu barked in excitement while following behind him.

I quickly made a TikTok video of their excitement while I had the chance.

Afterward, I stretched my legs and then changed into regular clothes.

I put on tennis shoes, blue jeans, and a My Hero Academia T-shirt.

Ariel decided to play rough with Deku and Tsu.

They barked loudly while chasing her around my room.

Suddenly, there was a knock on my door.

All of the noise soon faded away.

"Come in," I said.

Melody opened the door and walked inside my room.

Jersey rushed in from behind her.

She barked while circling around Tsu and Deku.

"HeySis," I said with a smile.

"Good morning Melody," said Ariel.

"Good morning girls," she replied.

Melody stared at me and noticed that my sadness had completely disappeared. "You're looking a lot better this morning Sioku."

"Yeah, I've been distracted by Ariel and My Hero Academia. These hyper dogs need to go out now," I replied before laughing.

Ariel held the door open, and all three dogs rushed out at once.

I giggled at the sound of them running across the floor.

We followed them downstairs in order to catch up with them.

Kara was watching Gray's Anatomy in the living room again.

I immediately pictured Shinso standing beside me to distract myself.

Ariel chased after the dogs as they raced toward the back door.

They took off running as soon as she let them outside.

"Your dogs are wild," said Ariel.

"I wouldn't trade them for the world," I replied gratefully.

Ariel and I looked up memes in the dining room while Melody was in the kitchen preparing breakfast for us.

I laughed out loud after reading my favorite meme.

Tears poured from my eyes as my face turned bright red.

"That one gets me every time," I hollered.

We heard a scratching noise coming from the back door.

"Don't let the dogs in until you're done with breakfast," said Kara.

"You got it," I replied happily.

I was silent again during breakfast because Shinso was still on my mind.

I smiled while picturing him in my head.

Melody gave me a friendly look.

She was glad to see that I wasn't upset anymore.

"Let's go play outside after we're finished," suggested Ariel.

"Good idea, but I need to do my chores first," I replied.

Melody and I cleaned the kitchen once breakfast was over.

Ariel and I then walked out the back door.

The sky was clear, and the sun shined brightly.

I took in a deep breath, smelling the sweet grass.

"This is so nice," I said with a relaxed sigh.

Ariel nodded her head in agreement.

The dogs joyfully greeted us as usual.

First, Ariel and I kicked a ball back and forth from one end of the grass to the other.

I then pulled out my phone and took a video of Jersey chasing the ball.

"Jersey you're adorable," I said before laughing.

Deku came running buy and knocked Ariel's legs out from under her.

"Ariel," I hollered with concern.

"Don't worry, I'll be okay. My dogs and I always play rough. This happens to me all the time," she explained.

"I'll help you," I replied calmly.

I slowly walked over to where Ariel was sitting and then carefully pulled her up.

There was a bruise on her right side.

"You should look at it before we continue playing," she suggested.

"Good idea," I replied.

We then walked over to a giant tree and sat down.

Birds were chirping in the treetops above us.

I gently lifted up Ariel's shirt to examine the bruise.

Then I lightly placed my hand over it.

She winced at the pain and soon felt it disappear almost instantly.

"Fortunately this isn't as serious as I thought," she said in relief.

"Yeah I know," I replied with a small smile.

I gasped in awe while looking down at her side.

The bruise had completely vanished.

I stared at her in utter shock and amazement. "Oh my gosh, I have a quirk. This is cell activation Ariel!"

She looked up at me in confusion, "How do you know Sioku?"

"I watched Katsuma use it in the trailer for Heroes Rising," I answered.

Ariel stood up and brushed herself off.

Then she walked to the middle of the grass.

"Let's see if I have a quirk too," she said hopefully.

"Imagine a dog in your favorite breed," I replied encouragingly.

She stood silently for a minute lost in thought.

A mysterious bright light appeared above her from out of nowhere.

I watched in awe as Ariel suddenly vanished into thin air.

Deku and Tsu sniffed around the yard, but they couldn't pick up her scent.

A few seconds later, I saw a Yellow Lab standing in the grass.

I cautiously approached the dog while staring at her long, gorgeous fur.

The dog gently wagged her tail while looking at me.

"You're so beautiful, is this you Ariel?" I asked in excitement.

She nuzzled me in response.

"We need to tell Kara about our quirks right away," I said.

Ariel shook off and then vanished again.

She reappeared as herself after a few seconds.

"Wo, that was crazy," she said with a stunned expression.

"I agree, this is still hard for me to take in. I thought that having a quirk would be impossible," I replied in confusion.

Ariel and I walked back inside with the dogs following behind us.

Kara was watching The Big Bang Theory in the living room again.

"I'll just listen to Sheldon's voice from a safe distance," I said to myself.

Ariel laughed out loud in response. "You crack me up Sioku."

Deku and I ran laps around the open area near the dining room.

He barked loudly while chasing me.

Ariel made TikTok videos of us while grinning at Deku.

"Settle down," hollered Kara.

I paused as my face heated up in embarrassment.

Deku then ran up to me while wagging his tail.

I firmly grabbed Deku's collar.

"Sit Deku," I ordered as I took a seat on the floor.

He shook his ears before sitting down beside me.

I rubbed his side while lost in thought about my quirk.

"Let's go tell yor sister the great news," said Ariel joyfully.

"Okay," I replied, still feeling slightly annoyed.

Ariel and I walked down the small flight of stairs and into the living room.

The dogs quickly followed behind us.

Ariel sat down next to Tsu who was asleep near the entertainment center.

I anxiously stood beside the couch where Kara was sitting.

"Guess what Kara, Ariel and I discovered our quirks while playing outside. I have cell activation," I said with a small smile.

"My quirk is K9 transformation," Ariel added.

"I'm so happy for you guys. You're still not watching The Big Bang Theory Sioku," Kara replied in a cheerful tone.

I just smiled back while imagining Shinso.

"That's okay, I'm going to be way too busy for that anyway. Ariel and I will train very hard and then enrole into UA High together. I'll also prove to you that I'm mature enough to watch whatever I want," I replied seriously.

Kara gave me a competitive look before I walked away.

Ariel remained silent as she was equally stunned by my positive attitude.

"Let's go make lunch Ariel," I suggested.

"I'm right with you," she replied with a smile.

We headed back up the stairs and into the kitchen.

I lost myself in a daydream about entering UA while preparing our lunch.

Ariel smiled at me in amusement.

"I haven't seen you this excited since our last day of middle school," she said.

"I'm more determined than excited. I want to try out for the support course," I cheerfully replied.

I handed Ariel her plate and then walked over to the dining room with mine.

She sat in the chair across from me.

I decided to start a conversation and looked curiously at her. "What course are you trying out for?"

"I'm trying out for the hero course," she answered.

"I can definitely see you doing that," I added.

After lunch, I cleaned up the kitchen and dining room.

I then led Ariel upstairs and into my room.

Deku quietly walked in and then laid downin the dog bed.

I sensed the peaceful aura around him.

After closing my door, I flipped on the light switch and then turned on the fan.

We felt refreshed by the cool air.

"It's time to do some research on this school," I said with pure determination.

"You must be really serious about this training," she replied, still not understanding the sudden change in my behavior.

"Kara needs to stop treating me like a little kid. I want to make great use of my quirk," I explained.

"That doesn't mean you have to give up on having fun. Sioku, you don't need to change for anybody. I like you for who you are," she added with concern.

Ariel's kind words brought a warm feeling through my system.

"That is why you're my best friend. Thanks Ariel," I said gratefully.

It felt good to hear those reassuring words from her.

I decided to work beside Deku.

His peaceful aura always helps me think clearly.

Ariel situated herself on the sofa.

I put on my favorite Anime playlist using the Alexa speaker.

We pulled out our laptops and then logged onto the UA website.

There were many pages on various courses.

I wrote down all of the requirements for the support course in my notebook.

Ariel read the study guide for the hero course written exam.

My mind started to wander, but I managed to bring it back.

Ariel smiled at me in amusement as she saw my face turn red.

I thought about Shinso to keep my mind off of Sheldon.

Our study session went on for three hours.

I was no longer able to sit still.

"Let's go do some fitness training," I suggested.

"I'm ready for a break from studying too," she replied in relief.

Deku rushed after us as we left the room.

He then headed straight for the door after following us down the stairs.

"You can go out Deku," said Ariel while sliding the glass door open for him.

I watched happily as Tsu tackled him to the floor.

"She really missed him," I said.

Ariel giggled in response.

We headed down to the exercise area beside our laundry room.

I put my ear buds in before hopping onto the elliptical.

Ariel stepped onto the treadmill beside me.

"Kara can't stop me from listening to the theme song," I said with a grin.

"That's true," she replied before turning away.

I put the Big Bang Theory theme song on Repeat and then broke into a run.

Ariel watched as my face flushed with pure motivation.

Sweat started to drip profusely down my forehead 20 minutes later.

My heart pounded rapidly as I picked up speed.

"Sioku," Ariel called out.

I panted heavily while slowing myself down.

"You're pushing yourself too hard. You should stop and rest," she said with deep concern.

"My hyperactivity got the best of me again," I replied weakly.

I carefully stepped off the elliptical and then sat on the wooden bench.

Deku was laying on the floor behind me.

I slowly reached down and peted his back.

He let out a long sigh.

My strength finally returned after 15 minutes.

I carefully walked over to the cooler and then grabbed a water bottle.

Deku jumped into my lap as soon as I sat back down.

"Oh Deku, I shouldn't have to work so hard to gain Kara's trust," I said while petting him.

Ariel stepped off the treadmill and then took a seat beside me.

She curiously sniffed the air. "It smells like dinner is almost done. We should go wash up."

"Let's go Deku," I said while gently nudging him aside.

Deku hopped down and ran toward the kitchen.

Ariel and I raced each other to the bathroom.

Tsu barked loudly as she chased us.

I gave the dog a big hug before washing my hands.

Afterward, I walked into the kitchen with Tsu following behind me.

"Tsu, out," I said firmly.

Tsu made her way back into the living room and then laid down on the floor.

Kara sighed and walked toward the back door. "Come on dogs, let's go outside."

The dogs immediately bolted through the dining room and out the door.

Ariel joined me in the kitchen a few minutes later.

"You still have sweat on your forehead," she pointed out.

I laughed nervously before rushing back to the bathroom.

I then used a wash rag to wipe the sweat from my face.

Ariel cheerfully spun me around in a circle as soon as I reentered the room.

"My legs are still sore from our workout. Kara will yell at us if we play around in here," I groaned.

"Oh don't worry about her Sioku. I'll take the blame," she smoothly replied.

I just smiled at her in response.

Melody and Kara were already preparing their plates.

Ariel and I stood silently while waiting our turn.

We then joined my other sisters at the table after making our plates.

There was too much on my mind.

I didn't care to strike up a conversation.

Ariel watched TikTok videos about My Hero Academia on her phone.

I laughed out loud when she read her favorite memes.

Melody looked at Kara with a satisfied expression. "What did I tell you? I knew that Sioku would get over it."

Kara just nodded her head in agreement.

After dinner, Melody and I did our chores.

I let the dogs in before the sun started to set.

Afterward, I cheerfully raced Ariel up to my room.

Deku and Tsu bolted up the stairs behind us.

I laughed out loud at their excitement.

"That's the spirit Sioku," said Ariel as she patted my head.

The dogs had a wrestling match in the middle of my floor.

Ariel took a short video of their match.

I placed my necklace on the bedside table.

We changed into our PJ's and then brushed our teeth.

Afterward, I played the same DVD from last night.

Deku and Tsu settled into their usual spots.

I climbed into bed and then curled up around Deku.

Ariel took her spot on the sofa.

"I'm so tired from our training," I said with a yawn.

"So am I," she replied.

I still couldn't believe that Ariel and I had quirks.

My dream of going to UA High was finally coming true.

Ariel fell asleep during the second episode.

I stayed up to watch the battle between Midoriya and Shinso.

I've been seeing a light of hope in him lately.

My mind drifted off as I watched the fight between Todoroki and Midoriya.

~Morning~

The next day began our long three months of rigorous training for UA.

Kara's harsh words echoed in my head over and over.

I wasn't going to let her tear me down anymore.

Ariel and I studied for hours on end.

Our workout sessions were also intense.

There was no time for us to sit down and watch Anime.

All social media was cut from our schedule as well.

I barely had enough time to spend with my sisters.

I switched back and forth between listening to The Big Bang Theory intro and Shinso's voice as motivation to push myself forward.

Ariel gave me words of encouragement whenever I needed them.

Having Deku and Tsu around kept my sanity in check.

My serious training is paying off because I'm able to stay focused for longer periods of time.

Being at UA is going to change my life in the best way.

~Three Months Later~

It was the night before our entrance exams.

Many fearful thoughts raced through my mind as I sat silently on the couch.

I was afraid of losing focus and failing the written exam.

Ariel noticed me fidgeting around beside her on the sofa.

She reassuringly put a hand on my shoulder.

"Don't worry Sioku, you'll do just fine. You've worked so hard for this," she said calmly.

"Thanks Ariel," I replied with a sigh.

Deku climbed onto the sofa and then sat in my lap.

I hugged him while thinking about Shinso.

Ariel took a few pictures of us.

"Let's go to bed," I said before yawning.

Deku shook his ears and then hopped down.

He chased his tail before situating himself on my bed.

"I'm going to put on My Hero Academia first," Ariel replied.

I smiled warmly at her. "That would make me feel better about the exam."

I joined Deku after placing my necklace on the bedside table.

Hearing Shinso's pleasant voice helped me calm down.

His brainwashing quirk caused me to fall even deeper in love with him.

I felt myself drifting off by the end of that episode.

A few hours later, I woke up from a horrible nightmare.

I was paralyzed with fear.

The frightening sequence of events played in my head.

That dream felt so real to me.

My heart pounded rapidly as I panted.

Deku whined while nudging me with his nose.

I still didn't move.

He laid his head on my shoulder.

Feeling the dog's warmth, I imagined Shinso comfortingly whispering to me at the bedside.

Deku's warmth felt very relaxing.

My heart rate slowly started to decrease in speed.

I carefully rose from my bed and then replayed the disk.

The pressure in my nerves began to fade away as I watched the show.

I pulled Deku into an affectionate embrace and held him tight.

"I hope that Shinso will hold me this way in the future," I whispered while smiling.

Midoriya's match with Todoroki helped me fall asleep again.

~Morning~

My alarm woke Ariel and me up at 7:00 AM.

I felt happy and refreshed.

Deku shook his ears while stretching.

"You're so cute Deku," I said before laughing.

He jumped down from my bed and then sat near the door.

Tsu let out a yawn before rising from her bed.

She circled around Deku while sniffing him.

"Good morning Sioku," said Ariel as she stared at me.

"Good morning," I replied with a yawn.

I was too busy imagining Shinso to think about the entrance exams for a while.

I made TikTok videos of myself dancing in front of the mirror.

Ariel smiled at me, amused by my dreamy behavior.

"Someone's in a good mood," she said happily.

"Well, I did have a horrible nightmare last night. Then I had an amazing dream about Shinso! He was so romantic," I explained.

My face pinked up as I thought of him.

She just laughed out loud in response.

Ariel hopped off the sofa and then walked toward the bathroom.

I changed into my school clothes and then brushed my hair.

I wore black tennis shoes, black pants, a white shirt, and a white jacket.

Ariel walked in a few minutes later.

She was wearing black dress shoes and a long, black dress with a white cover over it.

Deku and Tsu playfully tackled her to the floor.

I laughed so hard as they licked her face.

"I love you guys so much, but I can't get dirty right now. I'll pplay with you after the exams," she said.

They shook off as she carefully stood up.

Ariel then used a lint roller to remove the dog hair from her clothes.

I opened the door to let them out.

"Come on dogs, let's go outside," I said cheerfully.

They bolted down the stairs as I happily chased them.

Kara was watching The Big Bang Theory in the living room again.

I blushed while listening to Sheldon's voice.

"Today is not about Sheldon," I sternly said to myself.

Melody met me at the bottom of the staircase.

She wore a red night gown and her long hair in a ponytail.

I gave her a warm smile.

"Good morning Melody," I said.

"Good morning, I'll take the dogs out since I'm not going anywhere today. I wish you the best of luck on your exam," she replied.

"Thank you," I added.

Ariel came down a few minutes later.

She looked curiously at me. "Sioku, what was all of the commotion about?"

"The dogs," I answered before laughing.

Melody led the dogs to the back door and then slid it open.

Ariel and I walked into the kitchen.

I quickly prepared breakfast for Ariel and me.

"The bus will pick you two up at 9:00," hollered Kara.

"Okay thanks," I said in relief.

I checked the time on my phone.

"It's 8:15 right now," I said to Ariel.

"We still have some time," Ariel replied.

We talked and laughed about our favorite My Hero Academia memes in the dining room.

I didn't want to worry too much about the exams.

After breakfast, Ariel and I cleaned up the kitchen.

Then we grabbed our bags from the closet.

Melody let the dogs in a few minutes later.

I giggled at the sound of them running across the wood floor.

Jersey barked loudly while running circles around Tsu.

I nervously rubbed my hands together while looking out the window.

Deku quietly walked up to me and then sat at my feet.

I smiled while rubbing him behind his ears.

"I love you Deku," I said before kissing the top of his head.

Ariel checked the time on her phone.

"It's 9:00, the bus should be here by now," she said impatiently.

"Let's go out to the gate," I replied.

After letting go of Deku, I reluctantly followed Ariel out the front door.

I looked up at the sky while lost in deep thought as we walked.

The white, puffy clouds were very pretty.

I anxiously paced back and forth as soon as we stopped.

The bus finally arrived after five minutes.

Ariel and I stepped on as soon as the doors opened.

I sat in the seat directly behind the driver.

Ariel waved at me before moving to the back.

I found myself sitting next to a boy with indigo hair.

He wore a dark blue tracksuit withthick white lines, a cloth around his neck, and a detachable mask-like device around his mouth.

This boy looked very familiar to me.

I smiled at him with admiration.

"Excuse me sir, what's your name? My name is Sioku," I said politely.

"I'm Hitoshi Shinso," he answered.

At the sound of his name, I gasped in amazement.

My heart nearly jumped out of my chest.

I looked into Shinso's beautiful, dark purple eyes.

That same gorgeous light of hope I imagined was shining brightly in them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Shinso," I said cheerfully.

"Same to you Sioku," he simply replied.

The sound of his pleasant voice caused me to tremble with joy.

Hearing Shinso's low voice in person was unbelievable to me.

I looked curiously at him, "My quirk is cell activation. What is your quirk?"

"Brainwashing," he answered plainly.

Hearing that word lit a joyful spark in my heart.

I remained still with a stunned expression on my face.

My dream of meeting Hitoshi Shinso for real has officially come to life.

This moment was suddenly interrupted when I heard a few people whispering in the seats behind us.

They pointed at me while glaring at Shinso.

"What's a super cute girl like her doing with that psychotic villain?" "He probably brainwashed her into feeling sorry for him." "That ugly villain doesn't deserve any friends." "Why is he taking the entrance exams anyway?" "He should be locked up for controlling people's minds." "That evil kid will never have a good life."

Their painful words cut deep into Shinso's mind like sharp knives.

He tried to push them away to no avail.

I watched in horror as Shinso hid his face in utter shame

Tears poured from his eyes like waterfalls.

I comfortingly placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry Shinso," I said softly.

He let out a shaky breath. "You shouldn't worry about me Sioku. I'm used to being tormented every day."

My heart broke after hearing those words from him.

I felt the heat of absolute terror burning within my body.

"This is not okay Shinso! I won't let you live like this anymore," I said sadly.

"Thank you Sioku, that means a lot to me. You're the only person outside my family who has cared enough to say that," he calmly replied.

I smiled while ruffling his hair. "You're welcome Shinso, I'm happy to be your friend. You're one of the few people who have given me the chance to talk."

He smiled back while straightening himself up.

My conversation with Shinso had me lost in deep thought.

Everything was playing in my head all at once.

I looked out the window as the bus came to a stop.

Rose bushes bloomed on both sides of the bus ramp.

"Those roses are so pretty," I said happily.

There was a giant building up ahead.

My eyes widened as I read a sign that said UA High in big letters.

The letters were decorated with gold sparkles.

"I can't believe that we're taking our exams here," said Shinso nervously.

I put my arm around him. "Don't worry Shinso, I know you'll do just fine. You, my best friend Ariel, and I will get into UA together."

Shinso gave me a hug while smiling.

He seemed to be encouraged by what I said.

I just blushed in response.

Shinso laughed at the sight of my bright red cheeks.

"I'm glad he's happy again," I thought.

Shinso and I waited until everybody else was off the bus.

We sat down at a picnic table after stepping off.

Sitting beside Shinso was almost too good to be true.

We paid no attention to the people walking by.

The fresh air felt very relaxing.

I was finally able to think clearly again.

I checked the time on my phone.

"It's only 9:45, and the exams don't startt until 10:30. We still have some time to hang out," I said cheerfully.

Shinso pointed to a smaller building to the right of us.

"Let's go get some coffee at that cafe over there," he suggested.

"Coffee sounds fabulous right about now. Let's get a move on," I joyfully replied.

Shinso took my hand as we stood up.

I immediately lost myself in a daydream.

His touch felt warm and Gentle.

We were headed toward the cafe entrance when a blond spiky haired boy with explosive palms stopped us.

He wore knee high combat boots, baggy pants, knee guards, a belt, a tight, black, sleeveless tanktop, a metallic neckbrace, and a black, jaggid mask.

I looked closely at the sparks coming from his skin with curiosity.

"Wo, that's an awesome quirk," I said in admiration.

"Please be careful Sioku! Don't step any closer to him," Shinso warned.

The blond haired boy stomped up to Shinso, anger present in his features.

"Get out of here right now Villain! This place is for heroes only," the boy shouted.

He furiously aimed an explosion at Shinso with burning hatred in his red eyes.

I stepped in front of Shinso to protect him from the blond haired boy's powerful explosions.

"Hey, stop that! Shinso did nothing to you," I yelled back.

The enraged boy tried to push me out of his way, but my feet were firmly planted on the floor.

Shinso squeezed my hand tight while shaking violently.

I pulled my friend into a loving embrace. "Don't worry Shinso, you're going to be okay. I won't let anyone hurt you."

Shinso calmed down after a few minutes.

I pulled out my phone and took a few pictures of Shinso and me.

"He's so cute," I said to myself.

To my surprise, I saw another boy with dark green hair running toward us.

He wore red shoes, dark green dress pants, a white dress shirt, a light grey suit over it, and a red necktie.

He appeared to be much nicer than the blond haired boy.

"Hey Cacchan! I'm taking the exam too," he said cheerfully.

Cacchan grumbled as he stormed off.

"You useless Deku! You shouldn't be here," he called out to him.

He then chased the green haired boy until they disappeared out of our sight.

Shinso and I exchanged a confused look.

He breathed a sigh of relief once the peace had returned.

I was relieved to see Shinso relaxed again.

"Your presence has a calming effect on me Sioku," he said softly.

"I want to keep protecting you Shinso. It's time you had a true friend," I replied with a smile.

We pulled each other into a tight hug.

I prayed that our blissful moment would never end.

"This is what I've been waiting for all my life," he whispered passionately.

"I'm glad I was able to make your dream come true," I smoothly replied.

My heart pounded with pure joy.

I checked the time on my phone once again.

"We still have 20 minutes to spend at the cafe. You look like you could use a break," I said.

Shinso cautiously looked around to make sure that the coast was clear.

"Let's go Sioku," he replied.

We continued rushing toward the cafe.

Luckily, no one stopped us this time.

It felt good to finally be by ourselves.

"I would be honored to purchase your coffee," I said with a smile.

"Thank you Sioku," he replied gratefully.

I gracefully walked up to the counter with Shinso following behind me.

"I'll have two hot mochas please," I said politely.

"All right," the lady warmly replied.

I handed her the money for both drinks.

We then found a table while waiting for our order number to be called.

"Hey Shinso, I don't understand why people don't like you just because of your quirk. You're one of the sweetest people I know," I said with a concerned expression.

"I'm used to it," he replied with a frown.

Shinso looked down at the floor in distress.

I smiled warmly at him. "I think your quirk is very unique. It doesn't matter what those bullies think about you. You're special in your own way."

My kind words seemed to lift his spirits.

"I appreciate the kind words," he replied calmly.

"Order 23," the lady called out.

"Hold on Shinso," I said suddenly.

I rose from my seat and then walked over to the counter.

She handed me a tray containing our drinks.

"Thank you," I said to her.

I carefully walked back to our table.

"Hey Shinso," I said while placing a drink in front of him.

"Thanks Sioku," he replied happily.

"Thanks again Sioku," he replied while accepting the cup.

We laughed and told each other family stories for the next five minutes.

Seeing him smile made me so happy.

"I'll take you to the exam room," Shinso offered.

"I would love that very much," I joyfully replied.

We walked out the door after cleaning up our mess.

This shining moment with Shinso was the start of a new chapter in my life.

The school building wasn't very far from the cafe.

My eyes widened as we approached the large building.

"Wo, this place is huge," I said in amazement.

"Just wait until you see the inside," Shinso replied.

He slowly opened the heavy metal door.

I gasped in awe while looking around.

There were many classrooms and lockers on each wall.

"This place is amazing," I said to myself.

Shinso led me into the first door on the left side.

I took in a deep breath after finding a seat beside Shinso.

All I could think about was passing the exam.

I felt as if my mind was racing in different directions.

"I wish you good luck," said Shinso.

I just gave him a thumbs up in response.

More people walked into the room a few minutes later.

I didn't recognize any of them.

"Thank you for coming students," said the teacher as they were settling down.

She placed a packet on each desk in the room.

"You have two hours to complete the written exam," she added.

I glanced at Shinso before opening my packet.

I tried not to think about those two situations from this morning.

Answering the questions was easier than I thought.

Studying all summer was definitely worth my time.

It only took me an hour and 40 minutes for me to finish the exam.

I quietly walked over to the tray and then set my packet in it.

Afterward, I read a story on my phone until class was over.

I just couldn't wait to talk to Shinso again.

He approached my desk when there were only five minutes left of class.

I jumped up and hugged him tight.

"Hey Sioku," he said while smiling.

"Sorry about that Shinso, I didn't mean to startle you. You just make me so happy," I replied nervously.

Shinso just laughed in response. "Oh don't worry about it. How did your exam go?"

"It went very well. I studied every day during my summer break," I answered.

"You must have been working very hard Sioku. Let's talk more about this during lunch," he suggested.

"Sounds good," I replied.

Shinso and I headed to the lunch room as soon as class was dismissed.

There were crouds of people everywhere.

I saw Ariel waiting in one of the lines.

Without thinking, I happily rushed toward her. "Hey Ariel! Do you want to join us?"

She grinned and pointed to Shinso. "Of course, who's your new friend?"

I lovingly put my arm around him.

"This wonderful guy right here is Hitoshi Shinso. I sat beside him on the bus this morning," I answered.

"It's nice to meet you Ariel," he said shyly.

"Same to you Shinso," she replied with a smile.

After ordering our lunch, my friends and I found a table near the back door.

Ariel decided to start a conversation and smiled at me. "How do you think you did on the written exam?"

"I was very nervous about the test at first. It went well because I didn't lose focus. Shinso's calming presence really helped me out," I answered proudly.

Shinso gave me a warm smile in response.

"You have a crush on him," Ariel teased.

I lookde down while blushing in embarrassment.

"Wait a minute, we just met today! It's not like that," I shouted nervously.

She laughed out loud while staring at my bright red cheeks.

"Let's change the subject," I said casually.

Ariel looked curiously at Shinso. "My quirk is K9 transformation. What is yours?"

"Brainwashing," he simply answered.

"Wow, you have amazing power. That quirk is very rare," she added with glee.

He smiled at her with a hopeful expression.

I looked behind me and noticed that people were staring at us.

They gave Shinso dirty looks.

I comfortingly placed a hand on his shoulder.

Shinso paid no attention to them and focused on me instead.

Ariel looked at me with a concerned expression. "Why do people act so immature these days? Shinso didn't do anything to them."

"We'll tell you at the park later this afternoon," I answered sadly.

"I know where a beautiful park is that we can go to," said Shinso.

"Sounds like a plan," replied Ariel.

I let out a heavy sigh in disappointment. "We have to wait until our quirk assessment is over."

"Yeah I know," Ariel replied impatiently.

I nervously rubbed my hands together.

"Don't worry Sioku," said Ariel.

"Just give it all you've got," Shinso added.

"Thanks guys," I replied with a smile.

We heard the bell ringing from a distance.

"It's time to go our separate ways," I said sadly.

"Good luck on the test," replied Shinso.

"We'll cheer you on in spirit," Ariel added.

I waved at my friends before walking away.

I then walked through the school building until I reached a giant room in the back.

Chills crawled up my spine as I stood in the doorway.

The interior was an exact replica of an emergency room.

There were hospital beds, machines, and wires everywhere.

Beeping sounds came from all directions in the room.

I was nauseated by the unpleasant scent in the air.

This place reminded me of the horrible nightmare I had last night.

I hesitantly walked in while shivering.

My fear was clearly getting the best of me.

"This is going to give me major anxiety for sure," I said nervously.

"Sioku," a female voice called out.

I slowly walked in the direction where her voice came from.

I looked around and found myself in a small office.

An elderly woman was sitting at her desk across the room.

She wore pink boots, a dress with red and yellow vest-like designs, a doctor's lab coat, and a helmet around her head with a purple tinted visor.

Her grey hair was put up in a netted bun.

I saw a cane designed like a syringe leaning against the wall beside her.

"Hello Dear, welcome to my classroom. I will be assessing the strength of your quirk today. My name is Recovery Girl," she said politely.

"Thank you," I replied shyly.

My stomach was tied up in knots.

I wasn't looking forward to my quirk assessment.

Recovery Girl looked at me concerned. "What's the matter Dear? Is something bothering you?"

"I have an uncontrollable fear of medical facilities and machinery. I've been through some medical trauma when I was little," I answered softly.

She gave me a reassuring smile.

"I'll do my best to help you overcome your fears," she said calmly.

I let out a sigh of relief.

Her voice sounded very relaxing to me.

Recovery Girl picked up her cane. "Well Dear, shall we get started?"

I nodded my head in response.

I then reluctantly followed her back into the classroom.

We suddenly heard commotion from a group of people in the hallway.

They sounded very concerned.

"I think somebody is injured. Let's go Sioku," said Recovery Girl.

The voices grew louder as we rushed toward the doorway.

I saw the green haired boy lying unconscious on another person's back.

My mind flashed back to that incident in front of the cafe.

I cautiously examined his wounds. "Recovery Girl, he looks seriously hurt! We can heal him together."

"I admire your willingness to work hard," she replied proudly.

Recovery Girl lifted the boy over her shoulders and carried him to a bed.

She then placed multiple IV lines in his body to give him fluids.

I focused on my assignment to keep myself distracted from the constant beeping.

"It's up to you now Sioku. Show me what you can do," Recovery Girl said before stepping aside..

I placed my hand over a major wound on his side and concentrated really hard.

The wound fully healed after five minutes.

I continued healing him until all of the wounds were gone.

Recovery Girl seemed impressed by my quirk.

"Oh my word! That healing power of yours is out of this world," she said with pure joy.

My face lit up at her praise.

"Thank you very much. I've been training a lot during the summer," I replied breathlessly.

My energy suddenly started to decrease rapidly.

I took a seat beside her to rest and replenish my energy.

The boy woke up a half hour later.

I smiled warmly at him. "I'm so glad you're awake. What happened to you?"

"Cacchan and I got into another fight," he answered with guilt in his voice.

"You two need to stop being so foolish," said Recovery Girl to him sternly.

"I know," he whispered back

She carefully removed the IV lines from his body.

"You're free to go now. Please be more careful," she said firmly.

I helped the boy get back on his feet.

"Thanks for saving my life," he said gratefully.

"Any time," I replied happily.

He waved at us before walking out the door.

Recovery Girl happily walked toward her desk.

"Sioku, you did a wonderful job on your quirk assessment today. I wish you the best of luck," she said proudly.

"Thank you," I replied with a smile.

I waved at her before leaving the room.

My nerves started returning to normal once I walked down the long hallway.

I checked the time on my phone, and it was 3:00 PM.

Shinso met me beside one of the drinking fountains.

"Hey Sioku," he said with a smile.

I joyfully threw my arms around him. "Hi Shinso! I'm so glad to see you."

His calming presence caused my anxiety to melt away completely.

I felt safe and secure with Shinso at my side.

Shinso and I headed out the door and then sat at that same picnic table.

Crouds of people were gathered around the bus ramp.

I listened to the constant chatter around us.

Shinso looked curiously at me. "Sioku, do you watch any Tv?"

"Yes, I watch all kinds of shows, movies, and Animé. I'm currently trying to get into The Big Bang Theory," I answered with a hint of sadness.

"I love that show," he added in excitement.

I looked down and sighed in annoyance. "You're so lucky Shinso. My older sister Kara won't let me watch The Big Bang Theory. According to her, I'm very immature."

Shinso lovingly put his arm around me.

I gently laid my head on his shoulder.

This moment of comfort was instant magic.

I couldn't have imagined a better feeling.

"You're the most mature person I know Sioku," he said softly.

"Thanks Shinso," I whispered.

Shinso and I heard the sound of footsteps coming toward us.

I looked up to see Ariel standing in front of me.

"Hey you two," she said.

"Hi Ariel, you can sit with us," I replied.

"It's good to see you again Ariel," said Shinso.

We then stood up and prepared to board the bus.

The bus arrived a few minutes later.

Shinso and I took a seat behind the driver.

Ariel sat in the seat across from us.

"I'll ask my older sister for permission to join you guys at the park when I get home," I said.

"I need to change into regular clothes first. I don't want to get my uniform dirty," replied Ariel.

"How did your quirk assessments go?" asked Shinso.

"I healed that green haired boy in Recovery Girl's office," I answered.

Shinso smiled proudly at me. "I wouldn't expect anything less from a kind hearted person like you."

"Thank you Shinso," I replied with a slight blush.

"I saved people from a house fire after transforming into a rescue dog," said Ariel cheerfully.

I grinned at her in excitement. "Oh my gosh, that sounds like so much fun!"

Shinso stared out the window lost in thought.

I sent Ariel the pictures of Shinso and me by the cafe.

"You two are so cute together," she said before giggling.

I just blushed in response to her complement.

The bus pulled into my driveway at 3:45.

"I'll see you guys at the park," I said before sliding out of the seat.

"Bye Sioku," Ariel replied.

"Looking forward to it," Shinso added.

I waved at them before walking up my driveway.

I heard Deku whimpering and scratching on the door as I approached the house.

He jumped on me as soon as I walked inside.

"Hi Deku," I said while ruffling his fur.

Deku wagged his tail while licking my face.

I gently lowered him to the floor.

"Good boy," I said.

Deku let out a sneeze before shaking off.

"Go change out of your school uniform," ordered Kara.

I sighed while glaring at her in annoyance.

"Oh okay," I simply replied.

I then walked up the stairs and into my room with Deku following behind me.

He jumped onto my bed and curled up.

I let out a frustrated sigh while closing my door.

Deku chased his tail while playfully growling at it.

"Deku you're adorable," I said before laughing.

I changed into jeans and a My Hero Academia T-Shirt.

There was a soft knock on my door.

"Come in," I said.

Melody opened the door and walked in.

She then sat down on my bed. "How did your exams go Sioku?"

"They actually went better than I thought. I healed a boy in Recovery Girl's office during my quirk assessment," I answered in excitement.

"That sounds awesome," Melody replied.

Tsu and Jersey ran inside my room a few seconds later.

They were holding each end of a pull rope.

Deku grabbed the middle of the rope and started pulling them around my room.

I made TikTok videos of them playing.

"The dogs went outside 15 minutes ago," she said.

Deku let go of the rope and walked over to me.

He sat at my feet while panting.

"I'm going to ask Kara for permission to go to a park with my friends," I said.

"I want to come with you," Melody replied.

I grinned at her while petting Deku.

"The more the merrier," I added.

I checked the time on my phone, and it was 4:15.

Melody and I walked back downstairs with the dogs following behind us.

They were playfully growling and nipping at each other.

I led them into the living room.

"Settle down dogs," said Melody.

Deku shook off and stood at my side.

"Hey Kara," I said, "May I please go to the park with Melody and my friends?"

"Yes, but you need to be back by 6:00. Take one of the dogs with you," she answered.

"We'll take Deku with us. Thanks Kara," said Melody.

I hooked a leash onto Deku's collar.

Melody and I grabbed our sweaters before walking out the front door.

We then walked down a small road.

It was very quiet outside.

Deku sniffed the ground and started to digg.

I firmly tugged on his leash. "No no Deku, let's go."

Deku shook off and continued walking between us.

"I think that you'll really like my new friend Shinso. I met him on the bus this morning," I said with glee.

"I can't wait to meet him," Melody replied.

There was a gate at the end of the road.

Tall grass grew around the whole fence.

"This place is very pretty," said Melody.

Deku sniffed around the area.

I curiously looked around. "Could this be the park that Shinso was talking about?"

"I hope so," Melody answered.

We saw two people walking behind us.

I turned around to get a closer look at them.

Those people looked familiar to me.

"I think Shinso and Ariel are here," I said with a grin.

Deku barked and dragged me toward them while wagging his tail.

I struggled to keep my control over the dog.

Melody firmly grabbed Deku's leash. "Deku! sit down."

He sat down and let out a yawn.

"Hey you guys," I said with a smile.

"Hello Sioku, it's good to see you again Melody," said Ariel.

I hugged her tight before walking over to Shinso.

"I've missed you Sioku," he said passionately.

I pulled him into a loving embrace.

"I missed you too Shinso," I replied in excitement.

He curiously pointed to Melody. "Who's your new friend Sioku?"

"That's my little sister Silly. Her name is Melody," I answered before laughing.

"Nice to meet you Melody," he said.

"Same to you Shinso," Melody replied.

Shinso unlocked the gate and held it open for us.

I walked Deku around the perimeter of the park.

There were different types of flowers and other plants everywhere.

A group of tall trees stood in the middle of the park.

"This place is so beautiful," I said to Deku.

Deku gently wagged his tail in response.

I found a wooden bench beside a fountain surrounded by rocks.

Deku crawled under the bench and laid down.

He let out a long, relaxed sigh. I took pictures and videos of our surroundings. Melody, Ariel, Melody, and Shinso joined us a few minutes later.

"This is the most serene place I've ever been to," said Ariel.

"I agree," Melody added.

"Thank you for telling us about this park Shinso," I said gratefully.

"This is where I go to collect myself after I've had a bad day," he said.

"You picked the perfect place," I replied with a grin.

Ariel looked at Shinso with a worried expression. "Hey Shinso, why are all of these people giving you dirty looks? What do they have against you?"

Shinso let out a sigh as tears welled up in his eyes.

Seeing the discomfort in his face made my heart sink.

I affectionately pulled him into a tight embrace.

"You guys are so cute together. I hope you two get married someday," said Melody while smiling at us.

"I agree, but look at poor Shinso," said Ariel sadly.

Melody's smile turned into a frown almost instantly. "Wait a minute, what's wrong?"

"I've been portrayed as a villain all my life because I have a brainwashing quirk," he answered shyly.

Ariel's face saddened as she looked over at Shinso.

"You don't look or act anything like a villain. Those kids just need to shut up and do something with their lives," she said.

I couldn't help but chuckle at Ariel's comment.

Melody checked the time on her phone. "Kara said that we have to be home by 6:00. It's 5:30, we should head back now. It was nice meeting you Shinso."

"Same to you Melody," he replied.

I slowly let go of Shinso while standing up.

"Let me know if you receive an acceptance letter from UA," said Ariel to me.

"You do the same," I replied.

Deku crawled out from under the bench and shook off.

Dust and leaves flew from his fur.

Shinso perked up as he watched Deku sniff the ground.

"You need a bath Deku," I said before laughing.

My comment caused him to burst into laughter.

"I'll see you tomorrow Sioku," said Ariel.

"Best of luck to both of you," added Shinso.

"Bye friends," I replied.

Melody and I headed down that small road with Deku walking between us.

"Shinso sounds like a nice guy," she said.

"He's one of the best friends I've ever had at school," I replied happily.

Melody and I quietly walked inside the house.

Tsu and Jersey greeted us in the doorway.

They ran circles around us while wagging their tails.

"Hello you two," I greeted before laughing.

"Get back dogs," said Melody.

The dogs chased each other into the kitchen.

"Get out of here," hollered Kara.

I couldn't help but chuckle at that.

Kara was in the kitchen cooking dinner.

I looked up at the metal clock on the wall.

Luckily, Melody and I arrived five minutes before 6:00.

I unhooked the leash from Deku's collar and then placed it back in the closet.

"I need to give Deku a bath after dinner," I said.

"Do it outside on the porch," Kara replied.

Deku walked into the living room and then laid down by the couch.

Melody and I washed up in the bath room.

Afterward, we headed into the kitchen.

Kara looked at me with a hopeful expression. "How did your exams go? Do you think that you'll get into UA Sioku?"

"My exams went very well. All of that summer training made taking them very easy for me. I sure hope so," I answered.

"That's good," she added.

We prepared our plates before sitting down at the dining room table.

I stayed silent during dinner.

All I could think about was getting an acceptance letter in the mail.

After dinner, I unloaded and loaded the dish washer.

I then hand washed the remaining dishes.

After finishing my chores, I grabbed a bottle of dog shampoo from the bathroom cupboard.

"Let's go Deku," I said.

Deku stood up and then ran toward me.

I happily raced him out the bak door.

I unraveled a long hose and then turned on the water.

Deku ran back and forth through the stream.

I rushed after him and then firmly grabbed his collar.

"Sit Deku," I said.

The dog sat down at my feet while panting.

I removed his collar and then set it on the table beside me.

I then picked up the hose and sprayed him with water.

He shook off every two minutes.

My clothes were soaking wet by the time I was finished.

I wrapped a large towel around him and rubbed most of the water out of his fur.

Afterward, I hung the soaked towel over the railing to dry.

Once back inside, I headed up to my bedroom with Deku following behind me.

After sniffing around, Deku laid down in the dog bed.

I changed out of my wet clothes and into my PJ's.

"Come down here Sioku," Kara called.

"I'll be down in a minute," I hollered.

I gently brushed Deku's fur while he relaxed.

"Let's go downstairs Deku," I said.

He rushed after me as I ran down the stairs and into the living room.

"Hey Kara," I said.

Before I could say anything, Melody handed me an envelope.

"I found it in the mail while you were giving the dog a bath," she said.

I tore the flap off to reveal a letter addressed to me from Recovery Girl.

"Read it out loud Sioku. I want to know what it says," Kara said.

I opened the letter and began to read.

"Dear Sioku,

You have passed both of your exams with flying colors. You'll begin training in the medical support course tomorrow. Congratulations on getting into UA.

Sincerely,

Recovery Girl."

I was speachless after reading the letter.

All of that anxiety I was feeling earlier vanished instantly.

"This is so wonderful," I said while grinning.

"All of your hard work really paid off," Melody replied.

"I'm so happy for you Sioku," said Kara.

"Thanks," I replied.

I placed my letter back into the envelope and then headed back upstairs.

Deku and Tsu followed me into my room.

I brushed my teeth in the bathroom before sitting down on the sofa.

My phone started vibrating beside me.

Ariel's name popped up on the screen.

I happily picked it up. "Hello?"

"Hey Sioku," she answered.

"I got my acceptance letter in the mail," I said cheerfully.

"Oh my gosh me too," she replied.

"I can't wait to give Shinso the great news tomorrow," I said.

"Good night Sioku," she said.

"Good night Ariel," I replied while hanging up.

I placed my phone on the charger before climbing into bed.

My excitement about UA kept me up for two hours.

I finally fell asleep after 10:00.
