(The Next Day)

The day is finally here... The village invention fair in Villeneuve.

Early the next day, Belle was wearing her blue village dress and decided to go back to the village alone to help her father present his invention. That afternoon, as she was getting ready to leave, Belle promised Adam that she would return once the fair was over. He agreed and sent his best of luck to Maurice. And so, Belle left for Villeneuve village after lunch.

When Belle arrived in the village, she was amazed at all the different inventions and their inventors setting up. "What beautiful weather we have for an invention fair today," Belle thought to herself as she walked down the village streets towards her cottage. As she came closer, she saw Maurice by the door, waiting with his invention. Upon arriving home and greeted her father with a warm hug, Belle acknowledged that this will be an honorable moment for the village, considering that their village was randomly selected by three judges to participate in and hold the event.

A/N: The event is going to take place in the town square and begins at 5:00p.m

Considering the event doesn't start until 5, Maurice and Belle took the time to make any necessary adjustments, including a polish.

Half an hour later, at 4:30p.m...

"Finally, the invention looks perfect. Thank you for helping me make the adjustments and polishing the machine, my dear," Maurice said to Belle as she put the tools away. "Ok, now let's get cleaned up before the fair starts," Maurice added. And so, they quickly went inside the cottage to get ready.

At 5:00p.m...

It was time for the invention fair to begin. Everyone, including people from the neighboring village, had gathered at the town square to present their inventions. Seeing all of the remarkable inventions made by different people, Maurice felt a little nervous. Luckily, Belle tried to comfort him with some reassurance, telling him that all will be fine.

Just then, three men who were formally dressed, arrived and headed for the fountain in the center of the town square. Those three men were the judges for the fair. "Welcome one and all to the Annual Invention Fair," one of the men began. "As you all know or may have heard, each year every and all neighboring villages participate in this magnificent event where each villager creates new and unique to showcase for a chance to win the invention trophy."

The, the second judge unveiled a beautiful golden trophy that gleamed in the light of the sun. Everyone gasped in amazement at how ravishing it glistened, especially Maurice. He was astounded and because of that small thought, it gave him even more hope of winning the fair. When Belle saw her father looking blankly at the trophy and the ray of hope in his eyes, she smiled gleefully.

The third judge then continued, "And you may also remember that each year a specific village is randomly selected to host this event. And this year, we are histing it here in the beautiful little village of Villeneuve. So, let us take a moment to thank the people of this village for letting us host the fair in their 'little town' (A/N: Those were Belle's words, not mine)." Everyone applauded.

"So now that the introduction has been done, we will be coming around to analyze each of your inventions. At the end, we (as the judges) will decide who deserves the golden trophy and be considered this year's annual invention fair winner," the first judge finished.

When the announcement was over, everyone who had created their inventions were preparing themselves at their stations. And those who weren't participating were simply witnesses- watching the judges as they went around, analyzing and taking notes on each villager's invention. Because there were so many participants to get through, Belle and Maurice decided to take a moment to get some refreshments. And because they knew it would take a while for the judges to come by their station, Maurice decided to let Belle explore and walk around until she was needed for his demonstration.

Doing as she was told, Belle began to walk down the village streets, admiring all of the different inventions made by people from her own village as well as neighboring villages. As she was walking, she witnessed a large crowd of people, including the judges, straight ahead. Belle was curious as to what was going on. "Why were there so many people crowed around this particular area of the town besides the judges?" Belle thought to herself. So, she decided to find out what everyone was gasping in shock about.

As Belle approached the crowd and got a better look, she became shocked with amazement and confusion- much like everyone else. There, standing at the center of the crowd, was an invention so well made, that she wanted to figure out what it was. Belle watched in astonishment.

The invention was actually a Paper-making Machine. Its inventor was a young girl that was approximately Belle's age named Lisa. She seemed to be looking for a volunteer to help with her demonstration. Belle really wanted to volunteer. But just as she was about to raise her hand, she heard Maurice's voice calling her name; signaling her to come back and help him demonstrate his invention- as the judges were approaching his station.

So, Belle quickly hurried back to her father to help with the demonstration of the invention- and just in time, too. On the way back, she thought to herself, "Huh, maybe next time i can volunteer for that girl I saw today."
