The next morning, Belle was expecting the day to be as peaceful as the sound of a calm, flowing river. Instead, she was about to discover something different.
When she awoke, sat up, and stretched her arms, she saw Mrs. Potts entering the room with a breakfast tray in her hands. Belle was surprised. "Good morning, Mrs. Potts," Belle greeted. "Good morning, my dear," Mrs. Potts greeted back. "I hope you had a peaceful sleep after the invention fair yesterday," she added. Belle smiled and replied, "I slept quite well, thank you. What's this? Is this for me?", Belle asked in curiosity.
Mrs. Potts carefully walked forward to place the tray on the bedside table. As she slowly put the tray down, she replied, "Yes, my dear. It is for you. It was a request from the Master. We've been told that he has a special surprise for you today." Belle was flattered. "Aww, how thoughtful of him." And so, Mrs. Potts left the room to give Belle some privacy, who was happily enjoying her breakfast in bed.
A little while later, after breakfast and getting dressed, Belle decided to take a stroll through the castle corridors before heading to the library. As she wondered through the long halls, she saw Lumiere up ahead who seemed to be carrying something in his left hand. Seeing her in the halls, Lumiere knew it was the perfect opportunity to fulfil Prince Adam's next request. He approached Belle. "Ah bonjour mademoiselle. I'm glad to see that you are awake. Uh, did you enjoy your breakfast in bed?", he asked.
Belle smiled brightly. "Why yes, I did quite enjoyed it." "Wonderful. Where are you off to?", Lumiere asked. Belle answered that she was planning to go to the library after taking a stroll through the castle. Lumiere nodded in response. Then, Belle noticed a folded piece of paper in his left hand. She felt curious and asked, "Lumiere, what's that in your hand?" "Ah, well it i s actually for you. It is from the Master. He requested me to give it to you when you finished breakfast," Lumiere answered.
Hearing that all of these sweet gestures came from Prince Adam, Belle was beginning to be more and more curious as to what his special surprise for her could be. Regardless, she took the note from Lumiere and thanked him as he left to resume his duties.
Belle then unfolded the paper only to find a note written on it. Belle read it out loud to herself:
Dear Belle, If you are reading this right now, I have a special surprise for you in the garden. I will be waiting for you there. Please come out to the garden to find out what it is. I have a feeling you will really like it. Love,Prince Adam?
After reading Prince Adam's note, she wondered what the surprise for her was. And so, instead of her original plan of going to the library, Belle headed out into the garden to find out what's going on.
Upon entering the garden, Belle was a little confused. At first, it seemed like no one was there. That is, until she kept walking. She was surprised to hear such a soft, beautiful melody playing in the background. Belle became more curious. After walking a little further, she soon came to a pathway that was lined with flowers on either side. "What is going on?", Belle thought to herself as she continued walking. Just as she thought it couldn't get any prettier, she was mesmerized by what she saw up ahead.
There, in the middle of the pathway, stood a gazebo that was beautifully decorated with roses, a table filled with delicious food, and romantic candle-lighting. Before Belle could say anything, Prince Adam stepped forward, smiling. "Hello, Belle. I'm glad to see that you got my note," he said. Belle looked around and said, "Oh, my. What is all this? What's going on here, Adam?", Belle questioned. But Adam didn't respond. Instead, he extended his hand and led her to the table.
Seeing this, Belle knew that the answer to her question will either be revealed during or after they ate lunch. So, she went along with the act. After a delectable lunch, the couple remained seated across from each other at the table. It was then an awkward silence. Until, Belle broke it by thanking Adam for a wonderful lunch outdoors; as they have never done it before. "You're welcome. I'm glad you liked it," he said with a nervous tone. Adam was feeling nervous on what he was about to say- or rather, ask. He knew he had been waiting for this moment for a long time. But he also knew that he couldn't hide his feelings from Belle any longer. "It's now or never," he thought to himself. The couple then stood up, facing each other.
So, Adam took a deep breath and began to speak. "Belle, I didn't just bring you out here to have a beautiful picnic lunch. There is an actual reason why I asked you here," Adam began. Belle stood there looking confused, but aloud him to carry on. Then Adam began to summarize their story; from the day they met to the day Belle broke the curse upon himself. his staff and his castle, which they had to bear for ten years. Although Belle was clueless as to what was happening, she still listened happily.
Then, Adam continued on with a speech that he had written and prepared himself. The speech maybe in the pocket of his suit, but he had it memorized. He took Belle's hands and held them firmly while beginning to say his speech.
My dear Belle, Ever since we met twelve years ago, I began to think about you. You nursed me back to health when I tried to save you from the pack of wolves that attacked you the night you ran away due to my raging temper. From then on, you started treating me differently, even though I still seemed aggressive. You were the only one who saw beyond my appearance and manners. You even came back in order to try and stop the villagers from harming me. And for that, I thank you. You are indeed beautiful, kind, intelligent, brave and courageous. You brought out the goodness deep within me. I have never met such a woman like you. No one else in the kingdom has these qualities. When the castle staff told me that you could be the one to break the spell, we all felt hopeful. Although, I was a little doubtful because I thought that a beautiful girl such as yourself could never fall in love with a hideouts beast like me. When you declared your love for me and had transformed everyone back to their natural forms, including myself, i knew that I had found the one whom I want to spend the rest of my life with. And that person is you, Belle? While Prince Adam recited his speech, Belle began to cry tears of happiness. When Adam had finished his speech, he closed it off by say, "I love you with all my heart, Belle. I can't imagine a life without you." He then knelt down on one knee and held up a little box. He continued, "Please do me the honor of making the happiest man in the world." Adam opened the box to reveal a beautiful gold rose ring. "Belle, will you marry me?" Belle tried to hide her tears of happiness. Seeing the ring, Belle did not hesitate and nodded. "Yes. Of course I'll marry you, Adam."
Hearing her answer made Adam very happy. He stood up and placed the ring on her finger. After doing so, they shared a passionate kiss followed by a hug. The newly engaged couple went to the dinning room where the entire staff had prepared a splendid feast in celebration. The wedding took place one year later.
And everyone lived happily ever after... For now, anyway.
A/N: I made this prediction before I knew that the book "Belle's Royal Wedding" existed.
