Chapter 2: The Coward Looking for Love
"What's wrong, Kanao?" Kanao Tsuyuri head snapped up as she kept playing with her food. Her adopted sister, Kanae Kocho had a worried look on her face.
Her little sister just came back from the Final Selection and she can't be prouder. But Kanao...
"Is that... I don't even know how I did it." She admitted "One second I had some demons in front of me, then... there are all dead."
Shinobu huffed "Well, it is because you killed them. We trained you good after all."
Kanao nodded "I guess... but even so, some girl had to save me once or twice."
Kanae clapped her hands "Well there is nothing wrong with that! Demon slayers have to cover each other backs!"
"But I felt so useless..." Kanao cried and Shinobu glared at her.
"Don't cry! You pass! You should be happy!"
"Ahh! Sorry Nee-Chan!"
Once the dinner was done, Kanao had to get ready for her first mission. And Inosuke, the only man in the Butterfly estate was trying to cheer her up.
"Don't worry Kanao-Chan, I know you will do great. I had see you train, and you are really good!"
Kanao sighed "I know Inosuke, but still... it is scary!" Inosuku patted her back.
"I know... that's why I don't go out. But you are great! Besides;" He smirked "You might find your prince charming out there."
Kanao blushed. Right, her Charming Prince. One of the stories she read when she was found by Kanae and Shinobu. She loves those types of stories!
She will not admit it, but that is one of the reasons she became a demon slayer.
She nodded "Okay, I will do my best then!"
Inosuku grinned "That's the spirit."
*Days Later*
"Get away from me!"
Kanao screamed as she ran away from a demon. Inosuke this is all your fault! Why did you convince me to do this!?
She reached a dead end as the demon cornered her "Now girly... don't fight... just... DIE!"
The demon launched itself at her and she covered her face with her arms as she felt someone on front of her. She opened her eyes, to see a red-haired teen, with a green checkered haori, his hair reaching his shoulders, one hanafuda earing on his left ear.
That kicked the demon's head so hard, it separated itself from the rest of it body. "Are you okay?" Her savior asked and she was mesmerized by his red eyes.
His slitted red eyes.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH! A DEMON!"
The demon raised his hands in sign of surrender "H-Hold on! I don't want to eat you! I swear!"
"Lies!"
"N-No! For real! I don't eat humans!" He insisted and Kanao looked at him with teary eyes.
"T-Then... what are you going to do to me?" She blushed thinking the worse.
"Ehm... nothing? I'm going back to my sister now. Take care." He smiled at her. A smile so bright. So perfect.
"What's your name?" She asked and the demon smiled.
"Tanjiro Kamado. A pleasure."
"Tanjiro..."
"Please marry me!"
Tanjiro sweat dropped as he stared at this random girl that grabbed his hands "Eh?" Then he processed the information.
"I-I have to go! Goodbye!" Tanjiro turned around as Kanao grabbed his ankle and cling to it.
"No! Don't leave me! It is scary here!"
"I don't even know you!"
"My name is Kanao Tsuyuri! Future Kanao Kamado!"
"Don't be creepy!"
Nezuko arrived to the screams, and saw her brother trying to shake off a girl... hold on.
"Kanao-Chan?" Nezuko asked as she recognized the demon slayer.
Both Kanao and Tanjiro turned to her and Tanjiro sighed "A little help Nezuko?"
"...And that's what happened." Nezuko explained to Kanao their story and she nodded.
"So, you want to turn your brother back into human. And this... Tamayo can do it?" Kanao asked and Tanjiro nodded.
"Hm. She took some samples of my blood so she can develop something."
Kanao nodded and bowed her head to Tanjiro "Sorry for being... like that before, Tanjiro-Kun. I understand if you hate me now..."
Tanjiro smiled and patted her head "Don't worry. It was the moment. He can be friends if you want too."
Kanao smiled "That's a start!"
"Eh?"
"Never mind!"
Inosuke was cleaning clothes as a crow came to him and gave him a letter "For me?" He asked and opened it to read its contents.
I found my Prince Charming! Thanks, Inosuke!
Kanao.
Inosuke smiled "Just don't scare him away Kanao." He said as he went inside to give the news to the Kocho sisters.
"That's great!"
"Who I have to kill?"
Maybe it wasn't a good idea...
