[We pan up and glide across the ocean to see an island surrounded by fog. The moment the island is shown, a boy speaks.]

Hiccup's and the rest of the villager's eyes opened wide.

"Ii's Berk!" Said Astrid

"Isn“t That Hiccup's voice?" Asked Stoick.

They looked at Hiccup who held his hand up in surrender." I have no idea how that was done" He looked back at the wall "But we should keep watching. It might help us out"

Astrid looked unsure " I don't know" She looked at the wall " Who knows what it might show. I don't feel like having private moments shown to everyone"

Some of the villagers agreed " you are right but It's not like we can leave, you know?" Saif Fishlegs

Astrid sighed and ran a hand through her face " You are right"

Hiccup bumped his shoulder against hers " Come on. It might be fun. Don't you want to know what the future holds?"

Astrid smiled at him " Yeah, I suppose that's a plus"

They went back to face the wall.

Hiccup (v.o.): This is Berk. It's twelve days north of Hopeless, and a few degrees south of Freezing to Death.

"Oh come on, It's not that bad, is it?" Asked Stoick looking at Hiccup.

Hiccup smiled and put his hand behind his neck "Noooo" he said nervously.

Stoick looked at him " You are a horrible liar Hiccup"

Hiccup sighed and looked at him he gave him a small smile " It's home" Everyone smiled at that. Astrid glanced at him and smiled at him, he returned her smile.

[We glide through the fog to see two giant Viking statues with fires burning in their mouths.]

"It's amazing to see it that way," said one of the villagers. Everyone nodded. They were right watching the village from the air was unlike anything they had ever seen.

Hiccup (v.o): It's located solidly on the Meridian of Misery.

[We go past the statues only to dive through a crashing wave and jump to a closer shot of the island. As we pan in a circular motion, we see several structures, houses, and a sheep farm.]

Hiccup (v.o): My village. In a word, sturdy. And it's been here for seven generations, but, every single building is new. We have fishing, hunting, and a charming view of the sunsets.

[We land on two sheep grazing in the grass.]

Hiccup (v.o): The only problems are the pests. You see, most places have mice or mosquitoes. We have...

"What?!" Shouted Ruffnut " What do we have?!" She took her brother's shoulders and shook him " Tell meeee!"

Tuffnut raised a finger "I would also like to know" He said as kept being shaken by Ruffnut.

Astrid shook her head in exasperation as Hiccup chuckled.

[A dragon fires at the screen as a door slams shut, a boy cowering behind it]

Hiccup (v.o.): -dragons.

Ruffnut stopped shaking Tuffnut " Oh, It's just that" She went back to seat correctly "I thought it was something important"

Tuffnut nodded before plummeting to the floor with a groan " I'm gonna stay here for a bit if no one minds" He grumbled. Everyone laughed.

Most people would leave. Not us. We're Vikings. We have, stubbornness issues. My name's Hiccup. Great name, I know.

"Don't you like your name?" Questioned Stoick with a sad look on his face "Your mother gave it to you"

Hiccup was left speechless before with his eyes shining he answered his father "I love it" His father smiled at him. Everyone watched the Father-son duo's interaction.

Astrid leaned towards Hiccup and whispered "You know this is going to happen a lot if we are going to watch the past"

Hiccup sighed "Yeah I know" He whispered back

Astrid gave him a concerning look "Are you going to be okay?"

Hiccup smiled at her "I'll manage"

They turned to the wall.

But, it's not the worst. Parents believe a hideous name will frighten off gnomes and trolls. Like our charming Viking demeanor wouldn't do that.

[Hiccup is seen dodging several Vikings. He trips and a male Viking roars in his face.]

Viking: ARGGGHHHHH! Mornin'!

Everyone laughed as said Viking flushed tomato red

Hoark: What are you doing here?!

" Sorry Hiccup," Said Hoark

Burnthair: Get inside!

"Yeah, sorry Hiccup," Said Burnthair

Viking: What are you doin' out?!

" Sorry" called someone from the back

Phlegma: Get back inside!

"Sorry," Said Phlegma

Stoick: Hiccup? What is he doing out aga-? What are you doing out?! Get inside!

Stoick sighed "sorr-"

Hiccup stood up and turned to the Vikings "Okay!" He laughed nervously "I get it you are sorry, but it's okay really, all of this has already happened and I don't blame any of you"

Hoark spoke "Yeah, but we still did wrong to you Hiccup, and we are sorry"

Hiccup crossed his arms and gave them an annoyed look "If you are going to apologize every time you do something wrong in what we are watching, we'll spend all day here so just know that I forgive you all" He smiled at them "Okay?"

Everyone smiled at him they gave him words of approval

"Yeah"

"okay"

"Alright"

Hiccup grinned and sat down once again. Astrid who had been silent watching Hiccup forgive the village hit him in the arm. He gave her a questioning look while he rubbed his arm. She smirked at him and shrugged "I'm sorry" She then laughed.

Hiccup shook his head with a smile on his face

Hiccup (v.o.): That's Stoick the Vast. Chief of the tribe. They say that when he was a baby, he popped a dragon's head clean off of its shoulders. Do I believe it? Yes, I do.

Stoick smiled glad that his son thought he was great.

Stoick: What have we got?

Starkard: Gronckles, Nadders, Zipplebacks. Oh, and Hoark saw a Monstrous Nightmare.

Stoick: Any Night Furies?

Starkard: None so far.

Stoick: Good.

Toothless gave Stoick an annoying glare and Stoick simply shrugged with a nervous smile " I suppose we should apologize in advance to the dragons as well" Stoick bowed his head, and Toothless did the same in an act of forgiveness.

Viking: Hoist the torches!

[Hiccup runs into a blacksmith shop and puts on an apron]

Gobber: Ah! Nice of you to join the party! I thought you'd been carried off!

Hiccup:What, who me? Nah, come on! I'm waaaay too muscular for their taste. They wouldn't know what to do with all...this.

Gobber: Well, they need toothpicks, don't they?

Everyone laughed at the interaction between the blacksmith and the young Viking. Stoick felt a bit jealous seeing his son and Gobber getting along so well. No, stop. You have a chance now. You have to mend this relationship. He nodded at himself determined to fix it.

Astrid laughed "So..." She chuckled "What to do with all of that?" She gestured to him sitting beside her. Hiccup rolled his eyes and shoved her away while they laughed.

Stoick and the Hofferson exchanged a look. They made quite the pair.

Hiccup (v.o.): The meat-head with attitude and interchangeable hands is Gobber.

"Hey!" Gobber looked at Hiccup and mockingly glared at him

Hiccup looked at him feigning defiance "You called me a toothpick!" Then he couldn't hold it any longer and burst into laughter. Gobber chuckled a little while he shook his head.

I've been his apprentice ever since I was little. Well... littler.

[scene cuts to Stoick on the watch-tower]

"When did you start" Asked Fishlegs

Hiccup THought about " I think I was six or seven"

"Wow, that's pretty young!" Said Fishlegs surprised

Hiccup simply shrugged

Stoick: We move to the lower defenses. We'll counter-attack with the catapults.

[A dragon swoops down and sets another house on fire.]

Hiccup (v.o.): See? Old village, lots and lots of new houses.

They laughed.

Viking: FIRE!

Astrid: Alright, let's go!

"Hey look!" Snotlout jumped in his seat " It's us!"

"Wow!" Ruffnut and Tuffnut crashed heads "Sick!"

Snotlout gave Astris a Flirty look while flexing his muscles "Don't I look Amazing Astrid?"

Astrid groaned before hitting him in the head.

Hiccup (v.o.): Oh, and that's Fishlegs, Snotlout, the Twins, Ruffnut and Tuffnut, and... Astrid.

Hiccup flushed red and looked at his hands as everyone laughed.

Astris looked at Hiccup with her cheeks tinted in light pink. She considered what had happened in the last year and she couldn't deny that she felt something for the dragon rider, she just didn't know if she loved him or not.

Oh, their job is so much cooler.

[Hiccup leans out of the smithing window to get a better look. Gobber lifts him up and back into the shop.]

Hiccup: Oh, come on. Let me out, please? I need to make my mark!

Gobber: Oh, you've made plenty of marks. All in the wrong places!

Hiccup nodded in accordance "I admit I have caused many problems" HE looked behind him "Sorry"

The village laughed and shook their heads smiling.

Hiccup: Please, two minutes. I'll kill a dragon. My life will get infinitely better. I might even get a date.

Snotlout snorted "Yeah like that will ever happen"

Gobber: You can't lift a hammer, you can't swing an axe, you can't even throw one of these!

[Gobber holds up a bola and a Viking grabs it and uses it to bring down a dragon]

Hiccup: Okay, fine, but this will throw it for me.

[Hiccup pats a wooden machine, which opens and shoots a bola randomly, hitting a Viking standing in the background.]

Viking: Arggh!

Astrid leaned to talk with Hiccup "Does that actually work?"

Hiccup turned to her "Hmm?" She saw her questioning look "The machine?" She nodded "Yeah it works. Why?"

She shook her head frowning "nothing. Just..," She whispered, " I think it might be useful as a defense mechanism against invaders. I don't believe even for a second other Vikings won't want to know how to train their own dragon. Even going as far as to hurt Berk." She looked him in the eye " I just don't want something bad to happen"

Hiccup looked at her blown over by her determination. He took a deep breath and prayed she hadn't been able to see him ogling at her. He coughed " You are right" His cheeks felt a bit warm " maybe we should discuss it with my dad when this is over" Astrid nodded and leaned back to her seat. When Hiccup was sure Astrid couldn't see him he let himself breathe again. Gobber who had seen everything snockered at him and Hiccup gave him an annoyed look.

Gobber: See, now this right here is what I'm talking about!

Hiccup: Mild calibration issue-

Gobber: Don't you- no- Hiccup. If you ever want to get out there to fight dragons, you need to stop all... this.

Hiccup: But, you just pointed to all of me!

Hiccup winced a bit in his seat and tensed when he felt a hand on his. He turned to Astrid who was giving him a small smile. He relaxed and went back to watch the mysterious wall.

Gobber: Yes! That's it! Stop being all of you!

Hiccup: Ohhhh...

Gobber: Ohhhh, yes.

Hiccup: You sir, are playing a dangerous game. Keeping this much, raw... Viking-ness... contained? THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES!

'And consequences there were' thought Gobber 'Though they were for the best' He smiled watching Hiccup talking with the rest of the teens. 'Yeah, they were'

Gobber: I'll take my chances. Sword. Sharpen. Now.

Hiccup (v.o.): One day, I'll get out there. Because, killing a dragon is everything around here.

[The camera pans over various dragons as they are described.]

Hiccup (v.o.): A Nadder head is sure to get me at least noticed.

Stormfly looked up at the mention of a Nadder.

Gronckles are tough. Taking down one of those would definitely get me a girlfriend.

Meatlug growled in delight looking smug at Stormfly, she swatted him with her tail.

A Zippleback? Exotic. Two heads, twice the status.

Barf and Berch bonked heads.

Catapult Operator: They found the sheep!

Stoick: Concentrate fire over the lower bank!

Catapult Operator: Fire!

Hiccup (v.o.): And then, there's the Monstrous Nightmare. Only the best Vikings go after those. They have this nasty habit of setting themselves on fire.

Hookfang raised his head looking proud. Toothless rolled his eyes.

[A Monstrous Nightmare growls and alights itself as it climbs up the catapult]

Stoick: Reload! I'll take care of this.

Hiccup (v.o.): But the ultimate prize is the dragon no one has ever seen. We call it the-

Viking: NIGHT FURY! GET DOWN!

It was Toothless turn to look superior in front of the other dragons. He was the best, and his rider and he were number one in Berk.

[From out of nowhere, an explosion tears the catapult apart]

Stoick: JUMP!

Hiccup (v.o.): This thing never steals food, never shows itself, and... never misses. No one has ever killed a Night Fury. That's why I'm going to be the first.

Toothless swatted Hiccup with his tail. Everyone laughed.

Gobber: Man the fort, Hiccup. They need me out there!

[He attaches an axe to his arm and begins to run out, but turns around at the doorway.]

Gobber (cont.): Stay. Put. There. You know what I mean.

Stoick groned "Gobber!" He looked at his friend "You know he won't do that!"

Astrid shook her head when she heard Gobber mutter "How was I supposed to know he would throw himself to the danger?"

Viking #6: Hiccup, where are you going?

Viking #7: Come back here!

Hiccup: Yeah, I know! Be right back!

Tuffnut looked at Hiccup "Liar!" He accused.

Hiccup simply shrugged smiling

[Hiccup is pushing a cart with the automated catapult on it]

Stoick: Mind yourselves! The devils still have some juice in them!

[Hiccup sets up his bola catapult on an empty hill and looks around.]

Hiccup: Come on. Gimme something to shoot at, gimme something to shoot at.

[The camera pans around the night sky, and catches on a shadow. Hiccup shoots, and a loud cry is heard as the shadow is seen plummeting down into a forest]

We have to admit you have good aim Hiccup" Said Fishlegs "And that weapon is amazing!"

Hiccup smiled "Thanks Fishlegs I appreciate that"

Astrid turned to Stoick "Hiccup and I were talking" She exchanged a look with Hiccup "And we think we should put up some of those around the border of Berk for protection"

Stoick thought about "I suppose you are right. Now that dragons won't be raiding us any more other villages might try to invade"

Ruffnut stood up so fast she knocked Tuffnut with her arms "Wait!" Everyone looked at her "Does that mean we get to use that?!" She turned to her brother "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Tuffnut nodded in agreement, and they started whispering amongst themselves.

Stoick looked worriedly at the twins "Though we might need to come up with a way for the twins not to get near it" Everyone nodded in agreement.
