Tears trickled down her face, coming to the realisation that she was in a major dilemma. It was either her friends, who supported her the most when she fell down financially, or the mysterious stranger with emerald eyes, who had come about her life a few weeks ago. She couldn't believe she had fell for him, even when her friends had strictly told her not to!

The pink hedgehog quickly wiped her tears and brought a weak smile to her face.

No!

She was not going to let him get what he wanted. Not after everything her friends had been through. It was time she played him exactly how he had done so with her girls!

4 months prior:

Through a large chattering of a crowd of people was a pink hedgehog, in white blouse and black pants, stood outside. Life passed by her as she stared admirably at her surroundings. It was her final chance at making it!

She looked up at the building, her jade green eyes glistening at the name 'Justin Enterprises'. After a dreadful interview last week, she was offered one more chance!

It was all possible to Silver the Hedgehog. He, working under the CEO, was able to spot her crying. His eyebrows narrowed gently as he approached her, placing his hand softly on her shoulder. She hesitated at his touch. She looked up to see a handsome hedgehog and was blown away with his features. A toned body, eyes which she could get drowned into, not to mention his hand felt so soft on her shoulder! Urgh she definitely needed to stop.

"Did you hear me?" He spoke softly, causing the pink hedgehog to look confused. This made the taller hedgehog chuckle slightly.

"You're crying, what's the matter?" He said slightly concerned. Her jade eyes fell on the floor, the enthusiasm she had brought to the interview became a major issue in a short period of time. Before handing over her resume, her hand had accidentally split the glass of water onto the desk. Which trickled onto the mature lady's (her interviewer's) skirt, causing her to scream yells at her before telling her to leave this building and to never come back.

Her eyes widened at the sight of a lady with a wet skirt coming out of the door. Her gaze became fixed on her as her eyes became glossy once more. The male hedgehog took note of her fixed stare before bringing his attention back to her. "No way! You did THAT!" He pointed to the lady before she entered the toilet kinda impressed.

She couldn't keep it within herself anymore. "I messed up my one chance at working in this company, I'm so ashamed" she said sobbing away, not keeping her eyes on him.

"Hey, this is just a minor inconvenience, she had it coming! She's pretty much the grinch of the office. I'll set you up with another interview. Is this time next week okay? I'll need your name and number." He said whilst quickly bringing out his phone from his pocket. Now excited, the pink hedgehog looked up to him, smiling out of control. "It's Amy, Amy Rose. Here let me type my number." He offered his phone which she eagerly took as she entered the digits of her number.

"Well then Miss Rose, you come by same day next week at 12:30, and if they ask why you have another interview, just mention me, Silver." He said with a wink as he proceeded to walk away. Amy blushed slightly. He had been nothing but helpful to her. She waved at him before leaving the building.

.

Now here she was, one week later, slightly early. No REALLY early in fact. It was only 11:15 and yet here she was standing outside the building. The roads had been clearer than she had initially expected, causing her to arrive much earlier. She sighed as she sat down by the bench closest to the building.

Amy quickly checked her bag for the right documents needed for the interview. With all her papers being in place, she quickly brought out a mirror, fixing her eyelashes with a bit of mascara.

"Looking good!", Amy dropped her mirror in response to the sudden voice behind her. She quickly picked it up before turning around and noticing, Silver?

"Silver?" she said, with confusion. Silver leaped over the bench and sat beside her. "Yeah it's me, you're a bit early?" he chuckled.

Amy let out a small laugh before answering "I guess I was eager to see someone." She blushed slightly at her comment, Silver also coughed slightly, as his cheeks became pink for a moment. "Is that right? Then how about we go for a coffee now?" He said with one eyebrow slightly raised. "Right when I'm supposed to have an interview?" She said hesitant, looking into his amber eyes.

Silver sighed "I know you'll be great at the interview", he reassured her, holding his larger hand over her smaller one. Amy looked down at his hand, then back up to his amber eyes, they were keen. He really wanted to go on a coffee date with her. "Well, I guess we could go for a while, but can we be back by 12.25?" She said while getting up and fixing her trousers. "Heck, yes!" Silver said enthusiastically as he led the way to the nearest coffee shop.

They talked for what seemed like an eternity, in a good way. She was mesmerised to hear about his role in the office and how passionate he was when he was interviewed 3 years ago. He explained how his determination got him quickly promoted to the manager level. There was honestly nothing Silver lacked, good looks, good energy, just good vibes all round. Silver quickly looked at his watch noticing it had become 12.25. "Come on, you don't want to be late to your second interview now." He said sarcastically as Amy rolled her eyes.

There they were, outside the building once again. Much to her dismay, Silver said he had something urgent in the office and couldn't escort her inside. She gave him a quick friendly hug before he ran to the staff entrance. Amy breathed out, this was it, her chance at making it. She went inside, blocking off previous memories of last week's incidence.

She walked over to the receptionist desk where a bored duck sat there with a nail file. "How can I help you?" She said very monotone. "Hi, I have an interview at 12.30 now? Could you show me the room?" Amy said as nice as possible.

"Name?" the duck said louder this time, whilst fixing her glasses and now looking at the monitor. Amy mentally slapped herself, they're not going to know who she is out of the blue! "It's...Amy Rose." she said with a slight stutter. It was only to make sure she had mentioned all her details to save the awkward interaction with the duck. The duck pondered slightly at the monitor before saying "Ahh yes, just take the lift in front of you to the seventh floor, it's the room right at the end of the corridor."

Amy smiled, finally this duck had been helpful. She walked away, noticing the elevator was already called, she entered hurriedly and pressed the seventh floor. She breathed in and out in a rhythmic fashion. 'Everything is going to go okay Amy' she thought to herself, bringing out her confidence.

She knocked on the door, hearing a 'come in', she let herself in. Her eyes widened at the sight of Silver sitting, now with a navy tie on, followed by a navy jacket, staring down at this laptop screen, immersed in whatever was in there. It was a sin for someone to look this good in uniform.

Realising she was still at the door, Amy cleared her throat and proceeded to sit down opposite the silver male. Thankfully, there was no glass of water on the side of the desk, but just a water bottle which she presumed was Silver's.

"I wasn't expecting you to be doing my interview.." Amy said quite shy, she was definitely intimidated by his work style. She was astounded by how good he looked in uniform. A true man at work.

"I'm gonna have to admit, I'm not normally the one that does these sorts of things, but I make exceptions for special people" Silver said with a smirk, now fully focused on her as he brought his attention away from the laptop screen.

Silver flipped his laptop screen so that it faced Amy, she saw her resume on the word document. Silver immediately turned it back to himself as he folded his hands.

"Amy, this is some super impressive stuff. You have invaluable experience with corporate clients, that's something we need" Silver started to explain. "All the knob-heads we have here just know how to look at a computer screen."

She wasn't sure what it was, the fact that there was a high chance she was going to get into her most anticipated job role, or the fact that Silver was impressed by her experience, but she let out a rapid relief. "You really think so?" She said in disbelief.

"Of course, I am. In fact, you might even get the chance of working under me." He said with another cheeky smirk on his face. That chuckle, it was definitely a menacing one. Amy laughed but gained composure.

"I'd definitely like that." Amy said finally matching his eye level. Again, with those amber eyes. She always got so lost in them. But Silver broke the eye contact as he started to write down a confirmation letter. As soon as he finished signing he happily gave Amy the paper.

"I will see you tomorrow Miss Rose. Welcome to Justin Enterprises, I expect good work from you." Silver said whilst getting out of his seat. As the words left his mouth, Amy jumped out of her seat too. Finally, all of her hard work had paid off! She was in! She couldn't believe it, it seemed impossible just last week, yet here she was with the letter in hand!

Amy's eyes suddenly widened as she felt a pair of lips on her left cheek. She blushed as she saw Silver look up to her, he had kissed her? He had kissed her. Oh, their distance was minimal. His breathing was heavy, which built up the tension between the two. Just a mere few inches between the two hedgehogs, but Amy secretly wanted there to be none at all.

Amy's heart was beating at an uncontrollable pace. She was sure Silver could hear her erratic heartbeat. But he didn't question anything. He looked down at her eyes once more before brushing his forehead against hers. With that he simply moved away and walked out of the door, his gaze never leaving hers. He gave one final wave before he walked away. Amy let out a huge breath, her cheeks bloomed a faint pink as she quickly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

'What are you doing Ames? This needs to be professional' she thought to herself. 'He's basically your boss.'

They say everything happens for a reason. This was probably the reason she messed up by spilling the drink on the lady grinch. 'Lady grinch, what am I five?' She thought to herself as she rolled her eyes. Without a second thought, she proceeded to navigate her way back outside. Overthinking was definitely still something she needed to work on.

.

It had now been 2 months since she had joined, and she was brighter than ever. Her friends even complimented her by saying she looked much happier than before, and that she even had a glow on her face.

It could be because Silver was basically the best. He treated everyone the same. There was no special treatment, which Amy admired. But he was so nice to everyone, such an angel, they definitely became close over the month. She did her absolute best to keep everyone in the company smiling. Almost everyone. The lady who took her interview was still very annoyed by Amy's presence.

But Amy couldn't care less! She was finally happy, independent, exactly how she imagined herself to be. There wasn't anything more in the world she could want.

"So, you need to design a presentation to appeal to our clients to buy out products." Silver said snapping Amy out of her thoughts as he walked towards her with two jackets dangling from their hangers in both hands, breaking Amy's thoughts about him.

"This one is beautiful; it's embroidery is hand stitched; no other kind of embroidery can be found anywhere else in the world." Silver said raising the jacket in his left hand.

It definitely was something. The embroidery made the whole thing look classier. She was confident it would appeal to the clients.

"And this one is quilted, making it right for any kind of weather, whether is damp outside or the beginning of spring, this one is a winner." Amy nodded as she continued to write down notes into her journal.

"When is this supposed to be presented?" She asked, then noticing Silver nervously scratching his quills. Amy's eyes narrowed at him, he got the hint and began to explain.

"Errrrrrr by Friday?" He said in a low voice. He was unsure how she was going to react

'Friday! But it's Wednesday today!' She thought loudly, glancing over at her clock noticing it was 17:43. Even today was gone. That meant she had one day to work on it.

"One day is not enough! How am I supposed to sell the product in one day?" Amy said raising her hands in the air and then covering her face, slightly shaking her head.

"I'll work with you okay; do you want to stay here until 10? I'll drop you off, I'm sorry, this is my mess. Its just Sir wants to test the new employees...and he only emailed me about 20 minutes ago. He says he wants to know how you work under pressure." Silver said putting his hands on her shoulder. She did seem panicked to him. Even he thought it was much to have employees give presentations.

He put his hand to his forehead, as he dashed over and sat down to his laptop once more. He stared over at Amy, who gave him a confused stare back. The stare remained for a few seconds until she caught onto what he was implying. They needed to start the presentation as soon as possible!

She jogged over to sit opposite him, as she hurriedly brought her laptop out of her laptop bag. They both typed away, whether it made sense or not, editing was the easy bit, they needed to put something together first.

.

Amy raised her head, groaning at how stiff her neck had gone. Had she fell asleep? Her eyes danced to the presentation, noticing she had barely done anything. She glanced over at her surroundings noticing it was now pitch black outside. Her eyes wondered at the clock behind Silver's desks which read 01:13!

She got up and yawned as she checked for Silver. 'Where is he?' Amy wondered as she lightly pushed the door, entering a now eerie looking corridor. It for sure looked better in the day. At night, it seemed like an endless tunnel with no way to the other side.

Amy shivered, instincts told her to wait in Silver's office and get away from this eerie atmosphere. She hurried back inside warming her hands in the process. Had he left her? No there was no way!

Proving her thoughts, Amy noticed his laptop was on sleep mode, he wouldn't have left his laptop right? Urgh he definitely could of, he was rich! This could just be his work laptop. The sound of footsteps alerted her as she started to panic.

They stopped suddenly, before picking up a rhythm again. They became louder and louder. Amy's eyes widened in horror. She knew this scenario all too well from those horror movies she loved watching. Some murderer managed to make their way into the office at night, and inconveniently, one person, whose fate is at fault manages to become their victim.

She was not going to be the dumb girl that screamed for help though, she was not going to get killed! No, she was going to have to be smart about this! Too much was at risk. First and foremost, her LIFE! Second her job, Silver, the presentation.

Wait a second? Silver? This was definitely the lack of sleep getting to her, Silver was just a friend.

But right now, she needed a fool proof escape from what she was certain was a murderer. She quickly became aware of all the objects around her, she needed something for defense! And oh boy there it was!

Amy held her breath and she slowly crawled over to Silver's laptop, still on sleep mode. A slap to the head would be enough to knock them out and make her grand escape. Of course, that would mean Silver's laptop will be in repairs, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

She quietly tip-toed back to a shelf full of folders. Her back lightly hit the wood, which caused her to startle herself. She heard the door to the office creek open, which instantly had her heart fall out of her chest. She saw a silhouette coming into frame. It ever so slowly started moving forward approaching her hiding spot.

Amy lunged out, laptop up raised high as she screamed "Not happening today mate!" But instantly she stopped on her tracks, she hugged the laptop close to her chest. Her ears drooped slightly with shame as she came to a realisation the figure in front of her was actually Silver.

She lowered her gaze on the floor before bringing the up to Silver's again. He looked as shocked as ever. Eyes still widened as though he was mortified. She noticed two coffee cups in his hands held upright.

"I'm so sorry," Amy paused before continuing, "I...I don't know what I was thinking."

"It's...fine. Phew, I really thought you were gonna knock me out. Is that..my laptop?" Silver said agitated at first but more confused towards the end.

"Promise you won't laugh?" Amy asked, after seeing Silver nod his head she continued, "I may have thought there was a murderer after me in this building."

Much to her dismay, Silver started laughing hysterically causing him to spill some coffee on the floor and over his hands. Amy quickly rushed to his side and cleaned his hands with her napkin.

"Not fair. You said you wouldn't laugh" Amy pouted. Silver turned to her "Look Amy, there is full security, no one can get through without their staff ID, you're perfectly safe." She nodded now with a smile on her face.

"Have some coffee and let's keep going, we barely got anything done. Apparently we both fell asleep." Following Silver's advice, she took a sip of her coffee before continuing that dreadful presentation of theirs.

The remainder of the night was peaceful. They both typed away, often exchanging looks with one another and an occasional flirt here or there. It was not awkward at all, much to Amy's surprise. She found Silver's presence comforting. She was shocked that he even wanted to work on the presentation with her, even after the stunt she had pulled on him earlier that night with his laptop.

"Could you take a look at this?" Amy yawned whilst getting the attention of the near to snoozing hedgehog. The time now was 03:42, this was taking longer than expected! "...huh..ohhh yeah sure" Silver yawned as he quickly fixed his composure. He got up and moved his chair to the opposite side of the desk, where Amy was sat.

He quickly scrolled through the images of products, following the text she had written. It was definitely of worthy quality. But was it enough?

"A few more paragraphs I think," Silver looked up to her "then we can both get our beauty sleep." Amy chuckled at his dry reply. They were both exhausted, not to mention they needed to be ready for work at 09:00. Technically they had already fulfilled their shift, but unfortunately that didn't count.

"Nah I always look good, you not so much." Amy teased as she lightly nudged his shoulder. Silver fake frowned "I thought it was my good looks that attracted you to me."

"You wish princess," Amy snickered back.

.

Amy woke up with a heaving feeling on her head, her neck was stiff as it had been when she snoozed earlier last night. She rubbed her eyes before realising the entanglement she was in.

Her head was on Silver's shoulder, whilst a snoring Silver rested his head on top of hers. She flinched, causing him to stir in his sleep, allowing Amy to release herself from their weird sleep state.

She glanced over noticing it was 08:52. It was minutes before everyone got to work. She glanced back at Silver. His quills were messy, his tie was loose, the cuffs of his shirt were rolled up messy. He could definitely get away with that for this morning.

She on the other hand was a mess. Her quills were extremely messy, her makeup from yesterday was smudged, somehow her white blouse had a coffee stain. She figured it was possibly due to her drowsy nature last night.

'Never gain big Sir, never again' she vowed to herself to never take Justin's last minute presentations again, she paced to the nearest women's toilet. Projects like these were so hard to do all of a sudden, it was so draining.

She looked to her reflection in the mirror, quickly fixed up her quills in a simple side braid and applied mascara to her puffy eyes, somewhat hiding the tiredness last night had brought onto her. She sighed at the site of the coffee stain though. She didn't have anything to cover it up, no blazer, no jumper, no extra blouse.

She took a breath and walked back into Silver's office to collect her laptop. He was now awake, there were no changes to his appearance, yet there he stood looking refreshed as ever.

"You don't have a small jacket you could lend me do you?" she quickly pointed to the coffee strain too tired to make any further conversation.

"Give me a second, I'll go check," with that Silver quickly excused himself. He came back a few moments later with a black blazer, which was definitely not Amy's size.

Still, she decided to make do with what she already had and put it on. It was a men's size blazer. The sleeves were obviously too large. She rolled them up and buttoned up the blazer, turning to Silver. I guess it was more of a blazer dress, but they looked fine with the work trousers she had on.

He smirked at her. Ahh there it was again, that cheeky smirk. "You can take all my jackets; they look way better on you than they do on me."

Amy blushed at his comment, unable to speak. Though the moment was ruined when a duck ran in out of breath, it was the receptionist. "...Sir...t—he...Bai—i-ley's have...arrived." She said holding her heart for support. It seemed as though she had sprinted up the seven flights of stairs.

Silver turned to Amy and took her hand "Errr looks like we need to give this presentation earlier than anticipated." He proceeded to tug her out of his office to attend their unexpected client.

Amy gulped knowing full well she wasn't prepared. Her head was pounding, but at that moment her heart had started too. A pit formed in Amy's stomach, which was something she really didn't like. This wasn't going to go down as expected, was it?
