Gwen stood outside of her apartment building promptly at 6pm. It was unseasonably warm for mid February yet she pulled her black leather jacket tighter around her exposed body. The velvet dress Peter gifted her clung to her like a second skin; barley leaving anything to the imagination.

Several passing construction workers had assured her of that.

A minute later a long black limousine pulled up to the front of the building; her mouth falling open in surprise. "This is us," Peter whispered at her ear suddenly as he touched the exposed small of her back and guided her to the limo.

The driver stepped out quickly; walking around to greet them and open the back door.

"Thank you…" Gwen assured him; sitting and sliding so Peter could join her. She had never been in a limousine before; she felt like royalty. Once they were on the road Gwen turned to Peter with wide blue eyes. "Peter, this is amazing."

His smile was infectious as she dropped his gaze; feeling his fingers at her chin. "When I saw you standing outside our building just now - you took my breath away, Gwen. You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."

She lifted her head to meet his warm eyes; her makeup was dark to match the dress and her hair was pulled back in a tight sleek pony tail. The way Peter was looking at her in this moment made her feel like a Goddess. "Thank you… you look perfect as always." She whispered as he closed the space between them and kissed her suddenly.

When he pulled away she was able to appreciate his solid black suit; the way it was a little to tight - his muscular arms showing under the thin material. "This is new." She stated, running her fingers up his forearm to his bicep. Peter swallowed hard. "Yeah, I needed a new suit. One to match your dress. Do you like it?"

"I love it. Francisco did an amazing job."

Peter let his gaze fall from her face; taking in the way the velvety material clung to her skin - her legs uncrossed at her ankles as he continued to soak in her beauty; a low groan escaping his throat as she adjusted the delicate red stiletto that covered her foot. His imagination was flooded with images of what he ached to do to her in those heels and nothing else.

"You're so beautiful." He assured again - meeting her eyes. Gwen leaned into him; pulling him closer. "Thank you, for the dress and for this limo. I love it. I love you." She whispered; her bright red lips against his neck as she spoke. "I love you…" Peter choked; tilting his head so her mouth found his.

"I am sorry, sir but without a confirmation I can not verify your reservation."

"No one gave me a confirmation! They told me to give my name at the front and to be here at 6:30pm!"

Peter slammed his palm down on the counter before him; glaring at the man who continued to deny them their reservation. "Sir, I apologize but without…"

"I heard you the first time." He growled; turning back to Gwen who stood patiently at the door with wide eyes. "There not going to let us in. I told you I'm a top notch fuck up." She watched as he raked his fingers through his hair; looking down at her. "Why are you smiling? Everything is ruined. I've only got the limo for another hour."

"Peter, some over priced mediocre dinner doesn't impress me. I'm down for anything as long as it's with you. You impress me every day - not this dump."

The host huffed at her comment as Peter laughed; ushering her back outside. "Where to then?" He asked as the limo driver helped them back into the car. "West 47th, please." She said to the driver as they were on their way.

"Do you like sushi?"

Peter followed Gwen down the hall of the 6th floor; admiring her ass and the way her sleek pony tail swayed with her hips as she texted quickly on her phone. They stopped at a plain red door; hesitating just a moment before she opened it and was greeted by a tall, slim guy with dreadlocks. "Welcome to The Sushi Lab. I'm Trevon. May I have a name for your reservation?"

Gwen opened her mouth to speak; glancing around the room as an older man barged through the beautiful roof top restaurant and came to stand beside Trevon.

"Ah, Miss Stacy. So lovey of you and your date to join us. Trevon get them a spot at the chefs station, first drinks on me. Miss Stacy, please tell Captain Stacy I said hello." Gwen smiled as the manager moved on and Trevon guided them through the quaint restaurant. Peter admired the lanterns above them and the fresh smells coming from the floral area.

"So, Gwen Stacy - daughter of the police chief has pull." He said once they were seated beside each other - his grin infectious. Gwen thanked Trevon who handed them each a menu before looking up at Peter with a smirk. "I try to only use my powers for good."

Peter laughed. "That's good to know."

They spent two hours drinking, laughing and eating a variety of sushi.

Gwen slid her arm in Peter's as they stepped out into the crisp night air - their limo long gone. "I guess we'll have to take the train home." He muttered; looking around the busy street. "The nights still young! Let's go dancing!" Gwen exclaimed - dragging Peter towards the nightlife NYC had to offer.

He glanced around again; feeling the need to patrol the streets - the tingle of his spider-sense dull from their consumed alcohol.

His eyes met Gwen's sparkling sapphires as they made their way to the loud music coming from an alleyway. "I've heard great things about this place. Just for a little while?"

"Yeah, of course." He wouldn't deny Gwen her fun. She was a twenty-two year old college student and tonight was supposed to be about making her happy.

They stepped into the dark club; music and neon lights surrounding them.

"I love this song!" Gwen said with a laugh; pulling Peter towards the dance floor as the up beat music filled her soul and she began dancing - her arms up in the air as Peter moved behind her; pulling her towards his chest with his hands on her hips.

They danced and drank until the sun came up and the club began to close - stumbling to the train station and somehow making it back to their apartments by the grace of God.

Gwen's back hit her apartment door roughly as Peter pressed his body into hers; kissing her deeply as a moan escaped her lips. The already barely there dress rode up her hips as his mouth trailed to her neck; tasting her skin. If they kept this up he would fuck her in their apartment complex hallway so all the neighbors could see.

"Peter…" Gwen breathed as his hands moved up her dress and into her hair. He was drunk - maybe even more so than her. His mouth found hers again - his hand slipping behind her to grasp the door knob of her apartment. With one quick twist the locking mechanism snapped and the door opened; allowing him to walk her backwards into the room.

He used his foot to close the broken door; never letting his mouth fall from hers as he backed her into the counter top - her lacy black panties falling to the floor between them.

A second later Peter's hand replaced the lost material and a gasp escaped Gwen's throat. She buried her head in the bend of his neck as he turned and placed her on top of the small kitchenette table beside the fridge - pulling his belt free quickly. When their eyes met again it was sobering.

Gwen sat back on the table - her once sleek pony tail now a wild mane of blond around her pretty face; the velvet dress wrinkled around her waist and her red pumps hanging mid air as she waited for his next move. Removing his jacket and shirt Peter didn't waste any time - grabbing her hips and pulling her towards himself; sliding each hand up her legs until her heels rested on his shoulders and she looked up at him with wide, desperate eyes.

A second later he was inside of her; buried deep and groaning; gripping her legs as her head fell back in ecstasy. "Holy shit, Peter.." He thrust into her several more times before grabbing her around the waist and lifting her to his arms - stumbling towards her bed as she fell back and he continued; burying his face in her neck as he found his release.

"Oh, god…" Gwen whispered; running her fingers down his back as his body became heavy on hers. "Peter?"

"I love you, so fucking much Gwen." He whispered against her neck; pulling her into his arms as the early morning sun began to rise over the buildings behind their apartment. It had been a long but fun night.

They fell asleep quickly; wrapped in each other's limbs.

Gwen opened her eyes several hours later; squinting at the bright mid morning sun. Peter was at her left; half draped over her body and sleeping soundly.

With a quiet groan she slid from the bed; smoothing her dress with a frown. It would have to be dry cleaned with this amount of wrinkles. Grabbing some comfortable clothes she made her way to the bathroom.

x

Emerging thirty minutes later she was a new girl; her hair wavy from the shower and her night attire replaced with simple black leggings and a overly baggy gray sweater.

Peter was still surrounded in light - deep asleep. She grabbed her wallet from the counter and disappeared out into the hallway - careful not to damage the door knob any more than Peter already had. It took ten minutes to walk to the coffee shop on the corner - buying two everything bagels and two cups of black coffee.

Waiting for her drinks she glanced up at the small muted TV on the wall of the coffee shop. The chaos several streets from time square caused her eyes to go wide. "Terrible, isn't it? Spider-Man nowhere to be seen. They're rioting because they know there's a police shortage now that all the crooked cops are in jail. I'm pretty sure 53rd street is on fire. The whole street."

"Oh my god…" Gwen whispered as the barista handed her the two cups of coffee.

x

Gwen opened her apartment door quickly; juggling the two coffees and bagels in her hands as she closed the door behind her and looked up to see Peter standing at her TV - his brown eyes fixed on the scene before him.

She cussed under her breath; hoping he was still asleep and oblivious to the distraction of his city.

"With several police officers suspended and awaiting bail for their involvement in the organized crime allegations involving Wilson Fisk - rioting is on the rise in our city."

Peter could only watch as footage of looters and vandals filled the screen; Jameson's face appearing quickly.

"You know my biggest question is where is Spider-Man? He takes more vacations from HIS CITY, the city he swore to protect. How can he call himself a hero?"

The small black remote in Peter's hand cracked until it was reduced to nothing; crushed by his rage.

"Peter…"

He turned to Gwen quickly before realizing what he had done to get remote control.

"I'm… I'm sorry.. I didn't mean too."

Gwen closed the space between them quickly; sitting their breakfast down on the end table before she put her arms around his waist and pulled him into her. "I've never called myself a hero." He muttered to himself as he continued to stare at the destruction on the television.

"You know Jonah is a complete dip shit. Nothing he says matters."

"I've fucked up so much as Spider-Man… I keep fucking up. Putting my own selfish wants before my responsibilities…"

Gwen looked up at him quickly. "That's not true. You are a hero, Peter and you're also twenty-two years old - you're allowed to have a life. You don't owe this city anything…"

He put some space between them; glaring at Gwen but holding his tongue. He didn't want to fight with her - she was everything to him but she didn't understand. Twenty two or not he was the one with the power - the responsibility.

"I need to go.."

"Peter. Don't regret our time together. Last night was amazing. Don't regret me…"

His brown eyes narrowed; "This isn't about you Gwen. This is bigger than the both of us."

"You can't save everyone, Peter. You're allowed to have a life outside of being Spider-Man."

"Everything I am is because of Spider-Man." He snapped, grabbing his pants from the floor and jerking them on. Gwen went to him; grabbing his forearm to stop him from storming off. "Don't go." She pleaded - looking up at him with tears in her eyes. Peter jerked his arm away from her and stepped back.

"Gwen, don't make me choose between you or being Spider-Man because it won't be you."

It felt like he had slapped her; causing her to step back from his glaring gaze. The tears she had been fighting back fell down her cheeks causing him to soften; "Gwen. I didn't mean that."

She took another step back; wiping at the tears quickly. "Leave." She demanded; standing her ground as Peter tried to go to her. "Now! Go!"

He stopped in his tracks - staring at her for a long moment before he snatched his jacket from the table and stormed out of her apartment quickly. Gwen fell onto her couch; burying her face in her hands as she cried.
