I apologise for how long it has taken me to upload this time round again *sighs* Anyway, this chapter is slightly longer so hopefully it'll be enough to make up for it. I was quite proud with this one. Reviews are always appreciated! Please do make sure to leave one if you're enjoying!

Oddly enough time had been passing faster than Amy had anticipated. Each day came easier to her, a flame of romance ignited within her, which made her intimacy with Sonar slightly more bearable. It was safe to say the disgust she felt was replaced by some kind of warmth.

Things had escalated quickly over the last five days, which of course was as planned. Always cuddling, smooching and picking on each other became an everyday thing. They barely spent any time apart! Heck, he'd stayed the night yesterday on the couch. She'd be dammed if he thought whatever was going on with them wasn't already serious.

They'd viewed two other places in hopes to build the boutique, though both had their share of flaws. One just didn't seem to fit the brief of luxury, it was simply a location full of standard shops. The other just didn't look magnetic enough to attract customers at all. So putting it into the perspective of the boutique, those locations were a waste of time.

Amy grunted as Sonar placed his entire body weight onto her right side, his face rested on her shoulder whilst she was squished to the far end of her seat. She shot daggers at him before she shoved him back causing him to accidentally sit on the remote and switch off the television.

"Such a fatty." She huffed disappointingly before hiding her laugh. She took a note of Sonar's expression, he gave her an annoyed look before shaking his head in disapproval.

He quickly removed the remote from under himself before shooting her a sly look. "Really? That wasn't what you were saying when you saw me at the airport."

Amy immediately hushed. So he'd noticed her staring? That was one way to boost his ego. "W-what? No way! You were such a douche. Why would I stare at you, have you seen yourself?" She casually shrugged.

Sonar scoffed at her comment. "So you weren't staring at my arms after I gave you my sweater? Because I'm sure you were..." He teased further, now fully confident he'd hit a nerve.

Amy knew she'd have to stand her ground now. Especially after Sonar giving her that cocky attitude. "No, I wasn't. I'm glad we cleared that up." She concluded happily before walking away from her seat.

The blue hedgehog sighed knowing she wouldn't crack. It was obvious to him that she'd paid interest in him from the get go. Though making her confess required a skill beyond his level. If she wanted to have her way, then so be it. He merely grabbed the remote to turn the TV back on. "Mhmm if you say so."

"Hey, I've been meaning to talk to you about something."

The hesitation in her voice threw Sonar off alongside the sudden change in topic. He quickly turned his attention to Amy, furrowing his eyebrows. "Of course." He patted the seat next to him for her to take.

The pink hedgehog gave him a soft smile before expressing her thoughts. "Right, so..." She paused and brushed her skirt. "Err... You and me," She paused once more looking into his eyes.

"It's something I haven't had before a-and I know it's soon but - I like you a lot, I know I'm falling for you. I don't need anything or anyone else if I have you by my side." She looked at him carefully only to be greeted with a blank expression.

He was confused. Which made sense. Out of the blue Amy was confessing her liking towards him. You always reveal the positives before the negatives, Sonar knew that. It was only to cushion the blow that was coming up. He felt anxious about what downfall Amy was going to reveal.

"I'm sorry if I sound soppy, but I just wanted to get that off my chest." She let out in a whisper.

He sighed, mentally preparing himself for the worst. She was going to breakup with him, wasn't she? But he couldn't help but plaster a smile on his face, after all, he was pleased with the compliments Amy had given him. He was happy to hear how much he meant to her without forcing it out of her.

"Well if it helps, I get what you mean. I feel the same." He reassured her with a goofy smile, instantly getting Amy excited.

The pink hedgehog grabbed onto his hand eagerly. "That's so relieving to hear because I've told my dad about you!"

Sonar's face drained of colour the moment Amy finished speaking. "You have?" He asked again for clarity, hoping his ears were deceiving him. This wasn't nearly as bad as what he'd imagined; it was worse...

"Yup! Wait - You don't look too happy about that?" Her eyes noted his jaw was previously occupied with a smile, but it had softened into a small one.

He rested his hand on hers showing he held no hard feelings. "I'm okay, it's just that I would've preferred if we met you're dad together over lunch and told him like that."

He shook his head, "But you've already done that so it's fine. So... What exactly did you tell him?" He worried that Amy may have given a wrong impression which would make his overall job a lot more difficult. If they'd met over lunch, Sonar was confident he would've wooed Amy's father over in minutes, but in the current moment, he had no idea where he stood in Reese's eyes at all.

Amy folded her hands, her eyes twinkling brightly. "Well- I told him I finally met my match. That you're very business driven and have helped me immensely with my boutique, AND," She paused again to take a deep breath to contain her excitement.

"I told him there's no one I'd rather be with than you." She clung to his arm.

Sonar held his arm around her, impressed with what he'd heard. Somehow his previous doubts had been removed. Amy had done a great job describing him to her father. "Hmmm seems like I'm in your good books?" He gave her a cheeky look.

"You're in my good books but you're not in Reese's yet."

Sonar seemed confused by her words, he let go of Amy to allow her to face him. "But you told him all the good things right? Is there a problem?"

Amy sighed. "There's no problem, I told him that. But he doesn't trust you."

"Ever since I've told him about you he keeps warning me that you're after my money and that you don't like me. He doesn't exactly approve of you because he thinks you're using me."

Amy shook her head in disbelief. "But that's ridiculous, because you're not after me for my money."

The blue hedgehog paused, processing this information Amy had revealed. "Right." He said in an unsure manner. The blue hedgehog hoped his partner wouldn't question the lack of confidence he had revealed through his tone.

He thought carefully about what to say next. "That's ridiculous." He didn't sound convinced with his own answer.

So Amy's father didn't trust him? That's what immediately popped up in his mind. That was the obvious point. But why? He hadn't done anything wrong to say the least. He'd helped his daughter with absolutely everything, surely he would've been appreciative of that? But he wasn't... And that wasn't great to hear.

"Earth to Sonar!" Amy called out which snapped him out of thought. "Relax, my dad's offered a way for you to get into his good books. It's a bit extra if you ask me.. but still!"

"How can I get your father to trust me?" He asked lightly but quickly, trying to hurry his girlfriend slightly to get to the main point of focus.

"Well... Before I tell you, please don't get mad. This wasn't my idea, it was my dad's. I-I -trust you, please - just remember that." She smiled empathetically which her partner reciprocated. Sonar could take this either way and it was important to express that before things went south.

She fidgeted a little before deciding it was best to come forward with the proposition her old man had in mind. "Right, okay, so my father wants you to buy my land... for the boutique." She winced at the last half of her sentence and squinted her eyes in fear of his reaction.

"Excuse me?" Sonar said slightly disgusted. "We're splitting the cost of the land, does that not prove my commitment to you?" He questioned further.

He hadn't taken it well. Of course he hadn't, she had seen this coming. Amy allowed herself to open her eyes and explain things from her perspective in a calm and rational way that wouldn't offend him further. "Not to my father Sonar. Please do this, for us?" She almost pleaded to him.

The blue hedgehog huffed at Amy's request. "It's okay for him to be skeptic of me. But buying the whole land when we're joint partners seems much."

He continued further. "How about this? Let me arrange a meeting with him to show him how awesome I am, and we'll negotiate the land pricing?"

To his suggestion, Amy frowned. "Sonar, he barely has time for me, his own daughter! He calls every two weeks, or if I'm at home we have dinner, otherwise he's always out. So to get him to meet you is next to impossible!"

The blue hedgehog scoffed at her reasons. "Sounds like father of the year to me." He insensitively replied.

The pink hedgehog grunted at how difficult Sonar was being. "Look, he's still my father no matter how he is. I do not appreciate the snide comments you're making! Why are you being so difficult?"

"Maybe because Reese is acting out of line. How does he expect me to pay for the land as a token of my commitment to you? I own 49% of the boutique and that's exactly the percentage I'll pay!" He slammed further.

"Paying for everything sounds greedy as heck from your dad's side. Sounds like a business tactic to me." He bitterly expressed.

"My dad is a part of the business world! It's the only thing he knows, and you doing this shows that you care about me, this business, and our relationship." She paused to try and remove her frustration but instantly failed.

"And that's all my dad wants. For me to have someone who's happy for my success, and will allow me to build my career! So I'm sorry if this seems like too much for you. You should've thought about the consequences before falling for someone like me!" She finished before stomping off to the kitchen.

The pink hedgehog breathed deeply. Emotions were running high on either side. See, it was ridiculous to arrange a meeting with someone that didn't exist. Reese Elise was a fictional character, the egomaniac, business savvy father who had no time for his children but obviously still cared for them. The whole pretending that he existed and defending his honour was hard but she felt as though she pulled it off.

Amy had bruised his ego, that she knew.

Now though, the ball was in Sonar's court. He clearly had a problem with the proposition and was prepared to go at war with her imaginary 'father'. It was clear he wasn't okay to pay the full amount but she'd have to force his hand.

She'd made out this fake father a tactical man which only thought in terms of profit and loss. And whilst his daughter meant a lot to him, her romantic partner did not. Sonar remained a question mark to Reese and to remove obvious doubt, this proposition was made. At least that's how Amy intended for it to look. That was the character brief Sally had given for Reese, whether Sonar bought into it or not was a different story.

.

She took a sip of water with her now trembling hand before hearing footsteps behind her. "What?" She asked annoyed, knowing he was in proximity.

"I'm sorry. I was a bit bummed when I heard your dad doesn't trust me. I'll do it - I'll pay for the land. " He hugged her from behind, resting his face on her shoulder.

It'd been nearly an hour since their argument and Amy was beginning to lose hope that Sonar would give in. Fortunately, everything was still going as per plan and he'd finally come to get her.

"Really?" She asked, tilting her head behind to be greeted by a genuine smile.

"Only for you." He grinned.

Amy flipped around, tightening him in her embrace. "Good, because I don't want you doing this for every girl you meet."

He smoothed her hair gently through his fingers. "Relax, this is just to get your dad's approval, nothing else. You tell him I'm ready to pay when you next talk to him."

Bingo. He was in and that meant he had locked his fate. His words had signed a declaration, which ensured that Rouge and Sally would indeed get back what they had lost. There were no two ways about it now.

.

"We haven't really done much to show the designers how passionate we are about our boutique." Sonar brought up in the midst of Amy wiping the washed dishes dry.

She wasn't sure what caused him to bring it up in the current moment so she remained silent. He'd never mentioned anything about the boutique up until now. It was always her initiating ideas. The fact that he'd felt the urge to express this made her nervous. A second later, she peered in his direction to see him slanting against the wall of the kitchen.

"Which is why we'll be organising a conference!" He said almost too enthusiastically. His sudden change in tone startled her causing the plate in her hand to do a 360 before she caught it between her fourth finger and pinky.

"Sonar!" She huffed before placing the plate onto the table. "I don't think that's necessary." She gave a concerned smile.

"Besides, you have a lot of pressure on you to pay for the land anyway. I basically have no money at the moment - so organising this seems like a whole mess." She explained whilst fixing her messy quills.

She paused as she remembered one key detail Sonar had blind-sighted. "Anddd... We threw that huge party remember? No one does that, ever... And we did that. So I'm sure their interest is still sparked." She emphasised to get her point across directly.

The blue hedgehog nodded in agreement. "What you're saying is true. But what if I told you the venue I've found costs zero rings?"

Amy scoffed at his remark. "Then I'd say you're being scammed."

"I'm being legit. I've found a place that'll allow us to do a conference for free."

She stood speechless. In this day and age Sonar had found a venue that'll be charging them zero rings. This was Sonar she was talking about. The hedgehog that would do anything to scam. Whatever game he was playing this time was one she didn't quite understand.

Overall, it was ridiculous. Even a chilli dog cost 2.50 rings, and they're as cheap as they come. She shrugged her shoulders, not really knowing what else she could say.

"They've launched brand new - and they need publicity, so us inviting top tier designers helps their marketing. It's a win-win."

The pink hedgehog pouted. "Is this really necessary? I'm sure we've done enough."

She really wanted him to agree with her, this one time more than anything. She observed his facial expression return to neutral then transition into a thinking face before moulding back into a cheery one - all in slow motion because of how much she was dreading this.

"Oh I'm sure. Besides, what's the worse that could happen? We'll be able to answer any questions they have and it'll be an opportunity to strengthen our bond with new friends." He paused as a new idea came in thought.

"And we could share more details about our business plan... So what do you say?" He looked thoughtfully at Amy.

The pink hedgehog smiled awkwardly. "... If you think it's a good idea, then - let's go for it."

Sonar grinned before kissing her on the cheek, then instantly brought out his phone. "I'm going to call them to confirm everything. Thanks!" He smiled vibrantly again before rushing out the door to the main room.

Amy sighed in defeat. 'What's the worse that could happen?' She recalled him saying - absolutely everything could go wrong; that's the worst that could happen...

Up until now, all of the steps relating to business were initiated by her, Sonar had agreed with it which is why they were successful. This whole thing was a ruse. No boutique was coming into existence anytime soon. Rouge and Sally put a stop to the whole boutique thing after the party because it just wasn't needed.

Apparently, it was common for people to preach about a possible business and let others know, but only a few would actually go onto making it a success. That party was the preach. But this conference was going to show commitment. Except there was no commitment because nothing existed. No Amy Elise, no Reese, no Kyle, no Devon... And definitely no boutique.

This was bad, if word spread to the news or paparazzi then the plan would go haywire. It'll be evidently clear that she wasn't who she seemed to be. Her disguise would be exposed.

And that'd be the end of it all.

.

"I don't know how he came up with it, I was just following the plan! - What? No I didn't put ideas in his head." Amy sighed at a frustrated Rouge yelling at her for this inconvenience.

Sonar had told her he was going to actually speak to the manager in person, and that gave her the opportunity to call Rouge. But the phone call had led her here.

"You tell me what to do now." Amy tried to reason, massaging her forehead with her free head in hopes to remove this newfound migraine.

"There's not much you can do, is there? If you say no he'll get suspicious. You deal with the designers yourself. You contact them Amy, not him." Rouge warned.

"You tell them... urghhh oh gosh -" The bat panicked trying to figure out a possible save with this bomb Sonar had thrown.

"Tell them it's a confidential conference because - because y-you have competitors! And if they find out then they'll create a market strategy similar to yours. Or that if they find out, they'll make a identical business plan which'll create competition. So whatever is said in the venue can't leave the venue. And that'll also take care of the reporters."

"Okay... that sounds believable enough. Sonar is such a headache, I can't eve-" Amy got cut off.

"Look Amy this isn't ideal but we're working around it. Just please, speak to the designers yourself and don't sus yourself out to Sonar!"

"Relax, I've got this." Amy reassured her friend.

"Of course you do hun. That's why we hired you for this job." She heard the bat softly remind her.

.

A slight turn of the handle was enough to alert Amy that the blue hedgehog was back. He'd been gone a while so she had taken the opportunity to call the designers before he'd mess things up.

"Hey," he sighed. It was clear he was out of breath from running up the stairs.

"How was the meeting with the manager?" Amy dully spoke, more than half her focus being on her phone.

Sonar slumped down onto the sofa, his arms resting behind his head. "It's all settled. The interior design has been selected. We just need to contact the designers and pick a date."

With one last click of her phone keyboard, Amy reverted her attention back to the blue hedgehog. "Well... What do you know? I've already taken care of that." She grinned from ear to ear.

The blue hedgehog looked surprised. "No way, I don't believe you." A small smile played at his mouth.

Amy walked over, unlocking her phone to show the text messages she had sent. "You won't believe it until you see it. Here."

Sonar gently took her phone and carefully checked the messages she'd sent. "I called everyone but messaged the ones that didn't pick up. I've said we'll host it the day after tomorrow. That's okay, right?" He heard her ask uncomfortably.

He shook his head in disbelief, granted he was still pleased by her sudden interest. "...Wow. I didn't think you were into the idea this morning but you've really gone up and beyond."

He continued further. "And I'm sure the day after tomorrow is manageable. Thanks for trusting me with this." He got up and gently lifted Amy off her seat into his warm embrace, swirling her side to side to show his gratitude.

"Mhmmm no problem." The pink hedgehog mumbled to him, resting her head on his shoulder and taking in his scent.

She felt like a baby in his arms, protected. Like nothing could tear her apart from him. His scent intoxicated her. At times he was so charismatic, sometimes she wished he was her actual boyfriend. If only he were normal. If only he weren't a con-artist.

The moment was short lived as Sonar placed her back down, causing her to regain her senses and actually focus. She noted how he folded his hands before looking in her direction.

"We need to give insight on our business plan. Which means we need to get a pitch ready."

Sonar wiped a sweat off his forehead and stood uncomfortably for a few moments.

He noticed Amy stare at him in confusion and so he knew he had to speak up. "It's just - I'm not great at writing pitches or public speaking in general..." He paced back and forth anxiously, rubbing his hands together for warmth.

"Hold on. I'll write the pitch. We'll do this together. But first you just need to relax." She held her hands firm on his shoulders to stop his pacing.

"Sonar. Relax." She chanted as the blue hedgehog breathed out deeply, still bobbing his head in an anxious manner.

"Look," She held onto his shoulders more firmly than before. "Public speaking takes practise, you get nerves and that's normal. But the main thing to focus on is getting your point across in the most natural way you know how." She tried to explain.

Amy recalled the first time she'd given the presentation to the Baileys. It'd gone so well minus their backlash at the end. That took courage and it was her first time talking to people of such high class. Her first presentation had been brutal to say the least, especially after Mrs Bailey stormed out, but it had taught her how to speak professionally, no matter how awful the crowd in front of her was.

She shook her head to come back to point. "Just talk to them as normal people. Because that's what they are at the end of the day... normal working people. They were once like us before all their success and it's important to remember that." By this time Sonar had revealed a hint of a smile.

"And stay confident. That's what sells you as a person. You did so well at the party, you can definitely do it again." She shook his shoulders to which he hung his head low and chuckled. He seemed slightly more calm.

He removed her hands off his shoulder and instead wrapped his around her neck, leaning in close as their noses touched. "Suddenly I feel like I could do anything and everything. Thank you."

Amy felt her face burn. "Yeah... no problem." She quickly added, moving away before she did something stupid that she'd regret. "Let's get started with the writing." She suggested and dashed to the drawer for a pen and paper pad.

.

"Sonar wait, let me straighten your tie." Amy chased after him as he talked to the staff members, explaining how they needed to be on their best behaviour. Rest assured, the manager told him that his staff were competent enough to handle uptight guests.

"Sonar." Amy called again after he clearly ignored her. All the chasing made her sweaty. She rushed again to get a grip of him but managed to twist her ankle to the side, causing her heel to trip as she fell head first.

"Woah Ames, please be careful." She heard Sonar in close proximity. She looked up carefully, only to see him holding her up by her arms, inches away from a fatal faceplant.

Amy regained her balance as she shoved Sonar away in annoyance. The pink hedgehog wiped off the dust of her suit and brushed her quills with her hands. "SONAR YOU!" She paused trying to contain her anger. "I've been chasing you all morning! Let me fix your tie." She huffed.

Sonar gave a cheeky grin. "What can I say? I get the ladies running after me."

Amy groaned at how lame he could get. "Moron." She let out as she finally fixed his tie. "There, that's all I wanted to do." She moved away to go back and focus on the technical side of things but stopped at her tracks as the blue hedgehog gripped her arm.

She grinned despite wanting to slap him for how much he'd made her run after him, and looked with a raised eyebrow.

"Hey Ames. We're going to smash this." He gave her a thumbs up.

"Of course we are." She smiled vibrantly.

.

As the disorganised crowd flooded in, they eventually started to get into rows. It was a first come, first serve basis for the seats. Only because they didn't want to seem biased towards some designers preferentially over others. So whoever entered first got seats to the first row, not that it mattered.

Sonar stood slightly anxious, fiddling with his earpiece connecting to his mic and constantly shifting. Amy held his hand for comfort despite delivering warming smiles to the swarm of designers in front of her. It wasn't just them though, but they're assistants and other staff. She noticed a familiar face in the crowd too. Silver.

He smiled at Amy and gave her a thumbs up which she couldn't respond properly to due to everyone's focus being on her. She'd automatically assumed that Silver was here to make sure no mishaps take place and everything runs smoothly from start to finish. And alongside that he was obviously he was working with Shadow.

She glanced around and noticed Shadow sat beside Silver, his eyes were glued to his phone and Damon sat in the row directly behind them, alone. That was odd? Maybe Mrs Bailey had given up and finally understood this was a battle she couldn't win and Amy was more than glad that she didn't show up.

Her eyes diverted back to Sonar, he seemed nervous but he attempted to carry himself with confidence. His hand was slightly sweaty against hers so she squeezed it for reassurance which caused his eyes to flicker and meet hers.

Amy adjusted her mic to move it away from her mouth. "Sonar, relax." She once again reminded him.

It was weird. A con man was afraid of speaking to a roomful of people. Perhaps it was because he'd steal from people secretly and that played a role. Or he was acting. But judging by his body's physiological reactions like excessively sweating, it seemed to be a genuine thing.

With the last few stray people awkwardly shifting through rows to make it to their seat, Amy decided it was best to begin and get this over with.

"Ladies and gentleman. Thank you for taking out some of your precious time to attend today. We're really overwhelmed and excited." Amy spoke thoughtfully.

"Just to run with you what's going on, we'll be discussing the rest of our business plan, then we'd be delighted to answer any questions or concerns you have with us. And finally, we can spend the rest of the evening enjoying ourselves with food and drinks. That sound alright?" She asked enthusiastically which rewarded her with a loud applause.

"Brilliant. So let's get started-" Amy paused as she noticed her phone vibrating. She was tempted to silence it completely until she saw the caller was Rob, and for whatever reason, that seemed more important to answer. Mostly because she was next to certain that he'd managed to find info out on Sonar.

"My colleague, Sonar, will run you through our business plan and I'll take over shortly. Please get comfortable." She finished with a smile before walking over to Sonar who didn't look particularly happy.

"Sonar, I have an urgent call. I have to take this! You need to take my part of the pitch, I'll take over yours." She quickly spoke.

"Ames no. I'm not good at this, I barely know my own part let alone yours. I'll screw this over." He panicked.

"Sonar do you trust me?" She changed the subject causing the blue hedgehog to give her a confused expression. He blinked a few times to try and understand what her question had to do with anything. "Yes, I do." He gave in.

"Good because I know you'll smash this. Now go!" She patted his shoulder before rushing out of scene.

As Sonar made his way to the centre of the stage, Amy slid her phone to answer the call. "Hi Rob, sorry for the wait. What's up?" She panted.

"Amy I think you're right about the money thing. I checked the account that transferred the money over and it looks dodgy as heck." She heard him clicking intensely, but right as she was about to speak he continued.

"There's been an unhealthy amount of money being placed into that bank account. I'm not sure why the bank hasn't questioned it." He revealed further.

"Rob, have you managed to trace his digital fingerprint?" Amy asked eagerly.

"That's what I was getting onto. Everything is pretty standard - money spent on food, travel, clothes - except heavy transactions to a specific hospital every month. The oldest transactions lead back to a village which I found pretty weird too."

Amy couldn't quite process the information Rob was throwing at her. She removed her phone from her ear to pay close attention to how far Sonar had made it through the pitch, it was closing in and she was needed.

She hastily brought her phone back to continue her conversation with Rob. "Okay, send me the details of the hospital the money is going to, I'll look into it further. Thanks for everything."

.

Amy had left the blue hedgehog in a predicament he couldn't quite escape. Sonar cleared his throat before heading to the centre of the stage, his vision began to blur due to the flashy lights directly above. Well, here goes nothing.

"We're all sad Amy left us but don't worry she'll be back soon. I'm not that bad I promise." He spoke, not entirely sure where this whitty humour was coming from. It was enough to cause a vast majority of the audience to laugh whilst the remaining looked bored. It was enough to encourage his confidence.

"We had a brief touching of what Elise and Elegance is. Everyone, including you, would see this as a normal boutique. And you may be thinking to yourselves, 'why should I invest in this?'" He paused to observe their expressions.

"Well... To us, it's not just a boutique, but something much more. It's an opportunity for everyone to gather together and put aside their differences. It's a reminder that anyone and everyone can do what they put their mind to, as long as they believe in themselves. Our vision is to slightly close the wealth gap and allow middle class people to finally engage in buying branded clothing that they've always wanted."

"We want to create a healthier environment to show designers aren't in rivalry with each other, it's just healthy competition. So we've put a list of designers that the public perceives to be in competition with each other to be in the same section of the boutique. So in a way, we're helping all of you earn an better reputation for yourselves. And to top it all off, we'll even host commercials with multiple designers, to show to our customers, that they are indeed getting the best of the best!" Sonar finally smiled getting into his element.

"And this, ladies and gentlemen, will be the start of something different and healthier in the fashion world." He glanced to see Amy smile at him.

"And I'd like to pass the details of the investments, commission process and other details back to Amy." He gestured for her to come on as a pleased audience clapped loudly for him.

And he'd never felt more proud.

.

The rest of the evening went well, Amy wooed the remaining of the audience over with her impressive details on how the whole process would work. They both took turns answering concerns, with a few harsh questions being thrown in the way, but overall they both thought they'd done a good job.

And here they were, side by side, staring at the designers drink and smile as they both leaned against a wall on the side.

"I told you you'd smash this." Amy proudly mentioned as she playfully shoved Sonar to the side.

He huffed, still not getting over how he's spoken so well out there. "It felt amazing, they were all so focused on what I was saying."

Amy raised her glass. "And that's on improvisation."

"Cheers to that!" He happily replied as they clung glasses together and each took a sip.

Amy glanced over to her phone to see the message Rob had sent her. It was the address of the hospital, and she knew she needed to go there urgently to piece everything together. This was her best shot at understanding her enemy and exposing his vulnerabilities. The best time she could sneak out was probably tomorrow. Besides, it was already late to go now.

"Who called?" Sonar softly spoke, which caused Amy to raise an eyebrow. "I mean, during the pitch, when you had to leave, who called?" He re-phrased his wording.

Amy sighed intentionally to allow her enough time and come up with a prompt excuse. "Dad... He keeps trying to make you out to be a bad person. He wants me to stay away from you. But I told him you're willing to pay for the land and cut the call." She smiled.

Sonar chuckled. "You slammed your business tycoon father? Now that's impressive."

"Not as impressive as you delivering a whole speech by yourself." She complimented him back.

Sonar stayed silent for a few moments. "I've always had trouble speaking up, and I overcame that because of you. So thank you." He genuinely spoke.

"Hey, I thought we were over the whole 'thank you' business? You don't need to keep thanking me." She tried to lighten the mood and repressed from asking further questions about why he had problems with speaking up.

"Amy!"

The pink hedgehog tilted her head to see Silver approach her.

"Hey," Amy greeted him with a hug. As they parted, the grey hedgehog shifted his focus to Sonar.

"You were amazing up there, good job!" Silver fist-budded him.

"Thanks man." Sonar replied to which Silver gripped his hand.

"Come, let's go for drinks to celebrate this great evening!" He cheerfully spoke as Sonar refused. "I think I'm good." He tried to convince Silver. Drinks didn't sound too bad, but he felt guilty to leave Amy on her own.

"Drinks are on me, you can't refuse!" Silver insisted again, attempting to persuade the blue hedgehog further, which seemed to work. Sonar shook his head, finally giving in as Silver tugged his hand. Silver tilted back and winked at Amy, alerting her she was now free for a bit.

Good. She had texted Silver to distract Sonar so she could get another opportunity to call Rob to confirm one question mark knocking in her head. With Sonar distracted, it was time to make her call. She carefully dialled the number as soon as Sonar was far enough and quickly placed it against her ear.

"Hi Rob, it's Amy again. I forgot to ask you one thing. What's the account holder name again?"

"Let me have a check." Rob swiftly replied. Amy once again heard endless clicking on her hacker friend's end. She waited patiently for him to do his thing.

Her eyes wandered back to Sonar, who was surrounded by a couple of designers alongside Silver. They talked a conversation she couldn't quite make out but it seemed to be light-hearted banter. He seemed to be genuinely happy in that moment, perhaps he had forgotten he was a scammer. She couldn't help but find him cute as he laughed at a joke one of the designers told. He was alluring to her, Sonar.

"It's Sonic The Hedgehog." Rob replied causing her to snap out of thought.

"Are you sure?" She asked for confirmation.

"Yes. The account holder name is Sonic The Hedgehog."
