The Next Day ~

"Bakaitooo! " The door slams open and Aoko enters with a vengeance. "I have been calling you since yesterday and you still cannot send me a text back. Now I'm going to be late for school because of you! Wake up you lazy magician!"

Conan watches from the top of the stairs how the girl grabs a broom from the closet and chases after Kaito. Kaito in return taunts her and runs around the house. Poofs of smoke appear and items in the house are switched around. It wasn't until the broom was going to successfully hit Kaito's head did he hear, "I'm not going today because my little cousins are here!"

Aoko's broom disappear from her hands and she looks around and finds Conan watching everything from the stairs where during the chase Haibara joined in to watch.

"Cousins?"

Kaito stands up, "Yup! Flew in from France, meet little Conan-chan and Haibara-chan!" Confetti fell around them as Kaito somehow manage to appear right next to them and wave his arms in a ta-dah movement.

"Why didn't you tell me!"

"Mom just told me to go pick them up from the airport yesterday! I didn't know either!" Kaito response exasperated.

Aoko smooth out her hair and fixes her uniform. She goes to the children, "Hello, I'm Aoko-neechan nice to meet you! -wait Kaito! do they understand Japanese?!"

"Nice to meet you too Aoko-neechan," Conan replied back. Haibara shyly hid behind Conan and gave a nod.

Aoko stares at Conan and then grabs him in a tight hug, she squeals, "Ah you are so kawaii! too cute to be this idiots cousin and smart too! Already speaking two languages!"

Kaito coughs, "Um aren't you going to be late for class?"

Aoko drops Conan who was being squeezed to death, "Bakaito! why didn't you say anything! I'll come back later and don't forget tomorrow dinner at my house!"

Once Aoko left Kaito sat down at the breakfast table and watched the two children finish their breakfast. "So... I plan to sign you guys up for school sometime next week."

Silverware clatter against the plate. In shock Conan watches in silence as Haibara begins argues how stupid an idea that is only to be counter each and every time.

"Look, you two are both kids no matter how smart you are. I can't just leave you home alone with that not being usual and suspicious. "

Haibara pushes herself off the chair and runs off to her room where she slams the door. Conan looks up and glares at Kaito.

"You suck." Kaito eyes widen at Conan declaration. Kaito begins to open his mouth but gets cut off.

"I get it. But it doesn't mean I have to like it. I don't want to meet other kids. I know why we can't be home school but civilians children are too..." Conan scrunches his face in disgust and displeasure.

"I'm sorry but if I could get someone to help homeschool you two I would. Also you need to learn how to interact and be a kid or you will stand out. Isn't the point of being in hiding to not get notice? I am not asking you to change who you are but find school like a club to keep you entertain. If you two really cannot stand it after a trial run then we can see what other options we can do. Deal?"

Conan looks at Kaito thoughtfully. "Deal."

At School ~

Hakuba looks up from his phone to see Aoko enter alone quietly without the ruckus of Kaito around her. Curious Hakuba puts his phone down.

"Aoko-san where is Kuroba-san today?" Aoko sat down with a huff and turns to answer Hakuba.

"Ah Kaito-kun has his cousins visiting from France. That's why he's not in class today"

Hakuba raises his eyebrows in surprise. "I didn't know he had younger cousins. "

"Neither did I! Bakaito never said anything! Oooh I bet he thought it would be fun to surprise me." Hakuba hums in response. He narrows his eyes in suspicion.

"Do you mind I join you to visit Kaito-kun? The kids may enjoy having another person speaking French if they find Japanese difficult. "

"Aw, you're so thoughtful Hakuba-kun! I bet the kids would love that. After school I'll introduce you if Bakaito won't."

Hakuba shows up later with Aoko to deliver Kaito's missing school work. Aoko bangs on the door, "Kaitooo! Open up! I got your stuff!"

Kaito pulls the door open, "Sheesh Ahoko, are you trying to let the whole world know?" Kaito eyes widen and he then points rudely to Hakuba, "Wha? Why are you here bastard?!"

"Don't be rude to Hakuba kun! "Aoko yells out and swings her book bag towards Kaito but misses when Kaito does a backbend.

Kaito does a twirl moving into the house to the living room and spins Conan to avoid collision when he walk into his path.

"Wah!" Conan flops onto the couch and want to yell at Kaito but tsk instead when he sees aoko and a stranger walk in.

"Ne, Kaito-niichan who's he?" Kaito looks away and crosses his arms with a pout.

"No one."

"Bakaitooo! Don't be rude! " Aoko bends down and talks sweetly to Conan,

"This is Saguro Hakuba. In Japan you can say Hakuba-niichan" Hakuba nods in agreement and bends down.

:hello, Aoko says your name is Conan right? I presume it's a relief to hear French in a foreign country. If you prefer I can speak in whichever language if you have difficulties:

Conan had open his eyes and his face twitch from the patronizing tone.

:I love speaking French but : I can speak Japanese just as well"

Hakuba raises a single eyebrow in return and nods his head. 'Hm so he does indeed speak French, but something is off.'

"Here you go." Aoko pushes a folder full of papers into Kaito's chest. "Its the work you missed for today."

"Ah, thanks" Kaito mumbles. Conan bored of the interaction heads back upstairs and comes back down with Haibara.

"You to ready to leave? Kaito asks the two kids. Both give a nod in response. Hakuba eyes sharpen when he looks at Haibara but before he could say anything Aoko ask, "Wait where are you guys going?"

"Last minute shopping and food. Maybe show them around the neighborhood." Kaito waves offhandedly. "Well nice to see you Aoko, not you though," Kaito points to Hakuba who rolls his eyes. Aoko tries to go for a swipe at Kaito head but soon found herself outside in the front lawn of the Kuroba's house. Hakuba sighs, "Well I'll see you tomorrow Aoko-san."

"See you Hakuba-kun!" Aoko then heads to her house. Kaito turns to the two kids next to him. "Well while I am use to eating from Aoko tonight why don't we get some takeout? I know a good place next to a park where we can wait until our order is ready. C'mon"

Kaito picks Haibara up and pulls on Conan hand towards the park. Soon they arrive to a small park in a semi-busy neighborhood. Haibara gazes around the park and slowly wanders to the swings leaving Conan next to Kaito. Conan looks visibly confused and glances back at Kaito and tries to sit on the bench.

"Nope! Go on and play" Kaito then poofs up a soccer ball and hands it over to Conan.

Conan looks down at it and frowns having no idea what to do with the object.

"...what is this for?" Conan squints at the ball suspiciously.

"You play soccer with it!" A young boy yell out. They both look over to see two boys . A larger boy much taller and wider than Conan was dressed in casual athletic wear. He has a short black buzzcut and brown eyes with thick eyebrows. Next to him slightly shorter but still taller than conan stood a boy with freckles and lanky frame.

"Soccer? Sorry but I don't know how to play that?" Conan replies sheepishly. In reality Conan was irritated at his ignorance but decided to be polite in front of the two boys. The larger boy who introduced himself as Genta proclaim they will teach him how to play.

Conan reluctantly follows. Gives a childish smile playing with the two "no worry follow my lead I'm the best soccer player in school! Misuhiko looked at him in surprise, "no your not, I thought Heiko-san two grades above was" soon both boys began to bicker until Conan clapped his hands. Misuhiko nods to Genta agreeing to stop their argument for now and remember there guest and soon began to explained the basics of how to play. While on the field passing the ball both boys start to ask questions about Conan.

"So Conan-kun where do you go to school?" Misuhiko ask him.

"I've just arrived from France so I don't have one yet."

Genta yells out, "You should come to Tenten elementary! Class b is the best!"

Misuhiko pips up, "yeah! It will be fun if you join and at break we can teach you how to play scoccer with more players like Ayumi-chan and it will be even more fun!"

"I don't have a say though that is for Kaito-niichan to say."

Misuhiko and gents both exchange glances and run to Kaito who was busy on his phone. Conan picks up the ball and slowly wanders to where the group is. He hears the nonstop chatter and the pitch both boys are giving kaito, saying the wonders of why their school is the best instead of one in their area. Kaito muses and hem and haws about the distance.

After a few minutes Kaito sweat drops when both boys stop praising their class and somehow ended up talking about their female classmate Ayumi-chan. Kaito claps his hands and drops confetti on both boys.

"Okay! Thank you so much for the information guys. I have a lot to think about if Conan can join your class. It's getting late and we need to go pick up our dinner that should be ready by now"

At this remark gents kun tummy grumbled. Gents let's put a laugh, "Eeh its dinner time."

"Mou Genta-kun" Misuhiko sighs at his response.

"It was nice meeting you Conan kun let's play again. " Genta points to himself, "don't worry and follow my lead and you will be a great soccer player!"

Both boys wave goodbye and ran off back to their homes. Kaito stands up stretching his back, "I'm going to go get Haibara then, "he turns his gaze to see her have s a peaceful smile and eye closed swinging.

"Haibara it's time to go!"

In her surprise she let's go of the metal chain and flies in the air. Kaito runs, grab her, and catches her gently.

"You had a good time?" Kaito looks down at Haibara who gives a small nod. He then sets her down slowly on the ground.

Conan mutters thank you. Haibara gives a single nod.

Later that night Kaito debates about the paperwork in front of him. 'Does he allow the kids to join their friend, first real normal children or put them near his home instead.'

Kaito nods to himself. He pulls up the paperwork for retina elementary and begins to fill it in. 'Maybe this is what these kids need. Friends. Waking up early is no problem, let's hope this works out.'
