CHAPTER 4: BAD VIBES
In the allyways between the train station he sat. A small boy with his head hung low, his afro covering most of his face and his dark skin shining in the dim light. He streched out his hands and starte to play a soft tune on his air guitar. Even though he wasn't toching anything, passerbys could hear a soft tune play as they passed by. It was a beutifully sombre one, but to those who leaned deeply to hear the music, they couldn't help but feel an aura of... menace from the 13 year old.
(Opening plays)
Joel was sat on the train to hadn't departed yet as it was surpossed to be a 3 day journey and they were making the preparations. Joel left his cabin, and waltzed outside train, bumping into a boy as he went passed.
"oh sorry!" he said looking to where they bumped. He was gone. ' Whoever that was, they sure were in a rush' he thought. He walked towards the nearest telephone box and placed a few pennies in the pay slot before pressing a few buttons and pulling out the phone. He waited a bit before he heard a ladies voice.
"Hello, how can I help you"
"Cherries."Said Joel in a solemn tone.
"I see. When will you be arriving."
"3 days, 4 if they keep delaying like this."
"have you packed enough bags, it's a 2 month stay you know"
"Im aware. My movement are going to be recorded though, are you sure it is alright for me to pose as a contestant, the whole world would be watching."
"We know but it is the only way we can get close enough to that room without being the manager himself. Not even staff are allowed in there."
"So where can I expect to meet you."
"2nd day of the competition, the southern end of the beach area. By 2:14 am. If you manage to sneek out then ill see you there, if you get found out, well that wont be a problem for you I presume, murder IS allowed after all."
"what about if you get caught"
"oh don't worry, I have my ways." And with that the line beeped off, followed by the convenient signal of the train leaving. Joel dashed into the train and started to strut towards his door. He twisted the handle and pushed.
He stood there for a few seconds. Honestly he felt like closing the door and opening it to kinda refresh the situation, but he just resorted to blinking multiple times. But no matter how much he blinked it was still there.
He was still there.
Layed down across the bed in the cubicle was a boy. Dark skinned, a boumpous afro and a brown button up formal shirt with the the colar up and the top 3 buttons undone expsiong his pecks. This boy seemed to be around five, no six years younger than Joel, yet here he was. Suddenly here he was in his personal space like this. Joel couldn't help but feel annoyed by this. He was a covert operative and here he was, being disrespected by this child. Suddenly the child spoke.
"So you'll let me stay here for a while right?" Joel was physicaly taken aback by this comment. He struggled to find the words to address this intruder but swiftly settled on a set that was close to his personality.
"Who the hell do you think you are?"
The boy smiled, and a Blue wodden guitar was matterialised in his hand. He began to play it, and as Joel saw it, he know what his next course of actions needed to be.
He took two steps into the room, closed the door, and summoned Mountain king who swiftly punched the guitar, cracking the finger board, and making blood gush from the boy's stomach.
{Araki notes (even though im not araki I think ill still call these that): the finger board is an area of a guitar around its neck, above the strings.}
"What the, you, you have one too?"
Now posing with his hands on his hips and his right leg crossed at a pependicular to his left leg, Joel looked down on the boy. "your too ill-informed to be a spy, so ill give you some information out of the goodness of my heart. This is called a stand, it is a manifestation of your fighting spirit."Joel started to smile as he locked the door and took a seat beside the still bleeding boy.
"Now since I've answered some of your questions why don't you answer mine." Suddenly Joel got stone faced as he placed his forhead on the boy's temple as if to kiss him. "Who the fuck are you?"
"Im, im sorry sir, my name is Jedidiah Brando, I just realised you were going to glascow and you didn't lock your door, I really needed to get to Glascow you see.
"Why?"
"well My brother left our family to enter the Isle Island Competition. Its this big reality tv show thing-"
"I know, that's the reason im going to Glascow."
"Oh really? Then you have to let me come with, please Mr. you've just have to let me join you."
"Ok hold on there. First thing first, im 19 don't call me sir. Second, when did you gain your stand."
"Oh this?" he says summoning the guitar into his hands. "I got it a few days after my brother left us. I was using the ability to make money on the street but I couldn't rase enough in time, so I just ended up decideing to hitch a ride with the first person I saw. When you bumped into you, I knicked your keys and went into your room."
"Fine. Ill help you get to Glascow but on one last condition. Your ability, what does it do?"
"His?"
Dis-regarding the snarky comment, Jedidiah went on. "Johnny B. Goode has the ability to transfer my emotions onto someone else, and then amplify them. If im happy I can play the guitar and make someone else happy. I can also use it in the opposite way to get a kind of feeling of what my target is thinking. For example." He began to play a tune which reminded Jedidiah of a 1929 film he had watched with his friends. The song was called Am I Blue. As he played the song, Joel was still contemplating the mechanics of the boy's stand. He has been using the stand he was given by the Pendlton Assosiation for a while now, 2 years to be exact, and yet still these strange beings always managed to facinate him.
"Your feeling intruiged, probably about the nature of Johnny B. Goode, am I right?"
Hearing this snapped Joel back into reality. Ye yea I am. Your stand is really usefull isn't it.
Suddenly, in the middle of their conversation, a voice could be heard on the train's speakers.
"Please Unlock your cabin doors and hold your tickets out for ticket checking."
Joel did as he was told, while Jedidiah, who did not have a ticket, hid in the wardrobe. A few minutes passed as Joel waited outside the door like everyone else, before a click was heard.
Followed by a lod explosion from inside the wardrobe.
