- Penny is a highly manuverable fighter who is at her best when she's keeping opponents at a safe distance. She boasts plenty of ability to move both herself and her opponent via her Jet Boost and Wire Tangle, respectively, in order to ensure they are right where she wants them. However, she is lacking in close-range capability and her health pool is a bit below average, meaning that opponents who can slip past or power through her attacks can quickly be the end of her.

- Difficulty: 3/5 (Average)

Special Attacks

- Floating Slice: One of Penny's swords swings out to slash at the opponent, the distance in front of Penny depending on the button used.

- Jet Boost: Midair move. Penny fires jets from her feet that propel her faster, able to be angled at whatever direction she wishes. Useful for manuverability.

- Spinning Blades: Penny makes her swords form a circle and spin in front of her, dealing several hits to close range opponents. Can also neutralize projectiles if timed properly.

- Sweeping Shot: Penny's swords float above her, firing a green beam down at an angle before sweeping it outward. Impossible to jump over, but can still be blocked.

- Sword Beam: Penny has one of her swords point forward and fire a green laser shot across the screen. Does little damage, but moves quickly.

-Sword Laser: Variant where Penny fires a continuous beam that deals repeated hits. Requires some charge time.

-Wire Tangle: Penny sends one of her swords up at an angle, damaging the opponent and wrapping around them. Useful anti-air move that gives Penny three followup options.

-Retract: Penny pulls her wire back in, dragging the opponent towards her.

-Hurl: Penny spins around before releasing the opponent, sending them flying against the far wall.

-Smash: Penny pulls downward sharply, slamming the opponent to the ground.

Throws

- Forward: Penny fires a quick shot of ice that binds the opponent's feet before firing her jets and rocketing forward to slam them back.

- Backward: Penny dashes forward and grabs the opponent's front, lifting them up and spinning around before hurling them back hard to the ground.

Super Moves

- Laser Array: Penny gathers her swords in front of her, all pointing forward and circling as energy gathers between them, before firing a sizable green beam that spans the stage and hits repeatedly.

- Winter Maiden: Penny's eyes glow with green fire and she rises off the ground slightly. For the next several seconds, Penny receives a boost in power, her Jet Boost propels her faster, and all of her attacks become laced with ice, fire, or electricity at random, giving them a slight chance to freeze, ignite, or stun the opponent. Only lasts a short time.

- Always Combat Ready: Penny gathers her swords above her and shoots them forward, wrapping wires around the opponent if they connect. Spinning, she hurls the opponent high into the air, flying after them and holding out a hand as she taps into her Maiden powers. A whirlwind forms around the opponent and Penny's blades encircle her as she spins up it, slashing the opponent several times before passing out the top. Bringing the blades together into one above her, a lightning bolt strikes and electrifies it before she slashes down and sends the opponent rocketing back to the ground.

Fatalities

- Getting Quartered: Penny gestures and one of her blades flies forward, wrapping a wire around the opponent's neck and raising them up. As they choke and struggle to get free, four more wrap around their wrists and legs, pulling to spread them out. As Penny spreads her hands, the opponent's limbs stretch with several painful snapping sounds before ripping free, leaving them a dangling torso leaking blood. As the foe gives a strangled scream, Penny sharply retracts the cable around their neck, slicing through it and cutting them off, their head rolling across the ground as their body drops with a messy splat.

- Cold as Steel: Penny's eyes glow with Maiden power as an icy wind surrounds her and the opponent. The opponent slowly freezes, the skin on their hands and face even cracking from the sheer cold as they futily try to escape. The view switches to Penny's perspective as she watches their body heat slowly go from red to blue before switching to Aura Vision and watching their soul fade. Once its gone, the camera pans out as Penny takes off into the air, a final green beam sweeping down to blast the opponent's icy remains apart.

Friendship

- Search for a Cure: Penny smiles proudly at her victory, only to be surprised when she randomly hiccups. She looks around in confusion before another one rises, and then another. Saying "Oh...I must be malfunctioning.", she quickly runs off the stage, coming back with a book labeled '101 Sure-to-Work Hiccup Cures'. As Friendship plays, she tries several of them out, including drinking a class of water while pinching her nose, surprising herself with a jack-in-the-box (designed to look like Ruby), and holding her breath before remembering she's mechanical, none of which seem to be working.

Intro: Penny descends down with her jets, smiling cheerfully at the foe before her backpack opens and releases Floating Array behind her.

Outro: Penny's swords gather and fold back up into her backpack, Penny flying up into the air and hovering proudly before taking off.

Stage: City of Mantle

Theme: Trust Love by Jeff Williams & Casey Lee Williams

Opening: Penny was unsure what had happened. Last thing she could remember, she had given her life to pass on her Maiden powers to the right person, and now, she was waking up in a world she had never seen before. More than that, her Maiden powers were fully restored, and she soon realized that wasn't the only thing to have come back; she had been returned to her old mechanical body too. Confused, she set out to explore this strange world and try to understand just what was going on.

Rival Cutscene

Over an abandoned city flies a streak of green, the camera zooming in to reveal Penny Polendina soaring through the air. Her eyes are fixated on a strange tower off in the distance, but after a while, they flicker down to the ground below. Descending, she lands on top of a skyscraper.

Penny: Drat. It seems no matter how fast I fly, that tower simply will not come closer.

She leans forward, looking at the street below. Hopping off the edge, she uses her jets to catch herself and land safely, kneeling.

Penny: The ground keeps looping beneath me. It seems so normal, yet so unusual at the same time. What IS this place?

The sound of voices conversing reaches her ears, making Penny stand up quickly.

Penny: Somebody else is here...and judging by the last few people I've met, quite possibly hostile.

Penny sneaks forward to the end of a building, peeking arounds its corner. On the connecting street stands a young man in a black and red uniform, his back to Penny as he talks with a robotic knight.

?: You sure this isn't something the Corona Aurora may have done?

?: No. Not even it has the power to accomplish something of this scale.

The knight leans his head, his eyes locking on Penny's own.

?: It seems we have company.

Glowing, he shifts back into a sword, the man catching its handle and spinning to raise it up defensively. Penny steps out into view, calling out with a bright smile.

Penny: Salutations, Mack Hartford!

Mack: Penny... *sigh of relief* Thought it was going to be an attacker.

Mack cringes as if suddenly remembering what happened between them.

Mack: Uh, no hard feelings for when we last met, right?

Penny: None whatsoever.

Penny walks forward.

Penny: I have already determined that I was not myself in that instance. It stands to reason that the same probably applies to you.

Mack: Yeah...you're right.

Mack places the Sentinel Sword away as Penny moves past him, looking up at the tower. Mack follows her gaze, shaking his head.

Mack: What do you make of this place?

Penny: I'm still unsure. Space and time seem to bend to fit its twisted will. It's unlike anything I've seen back... *falters* ...back home.

Mack steps forward in concern, reaching out to place a hand on Penny's shoulder.

Mack: Hey...you okay?

Penny looks over and smiles.

Penny: I am fine. Just remembering...what it was like to be human.

She gestures at his hand on her.

Penny: The feeling of somebody comforting you, the warmth of a hug...

Mack: The feel of your heart beating in excitement?

Penny: Precisely! It was only a short time, but I miss it...it's so strange to be back in this body.

Mack: I know how you feel. I'm in the same boat myself. But at the end of the day, what I tell myself is this...it doesn't truly make that much difference whether we're human or not. That's not what defines us. At the end of the day, android or human, you're still Penny, aren't you?

Slowly, an uplifted smile forms on Penny's face.

Penny: And you're still Mack.

Mack: And we're both still the ones our friends love and care about. That's what REALLY makes us who we are.

After a moment, Penny quickly moves forward, wrapping her arms around Mack and hugging him tightly. He is surprised at first, but he shortly moves to hug her back. Though she may be an android once again, Penny would've swore she still felt the warmth. At last, they move back.

Penny: You're right. Thank you, Mack.

Mack: Anytime, Penny.

Mack glances towards the tower and Penny takes a step back.

Penny: You know what has to happen, right?

Mack: I've noticed the pattern, yes.

Drawing his Overdrive Tracker, Mack raises it up.

Mack: Overdrive, accelerate!

Running it down his arm, a red grid of energy forms around his body as he morphs into the Red Overdrive Ranger.

Mack: Good thing we don't have to kill each other this time, huh?

Penny: Agreed. Without that, this might even prove fun.

Penny's backpack opens to release Floating Array, splitting into multiple swords behind her.

Penny: Shall we?

Mack summons his Drive Lance, the camera panning back as the two face each other readily.

*Fade to Black*

Ending: When Penny defeated the Mastermind of Death Battle, he offered to modify his tech to return her to life in her world. After giving it some thought, Penny declined, deciding it wasn't worth the risk of her restored Maiden powers falling into the wrong hands or making her friends suffer through losing her a third time. When she returned, she instead found herself in a sort of spiritual afterlife, where she reunited with an apologetic Pyrrha Nikos. As the two watched their friends from the beyond, Pyrrha noted that she was surprised Penny didn't take the chance to return, to which Penny replied, "We played our part in their lives, and they grew from us as much as we grew from them. And because of that, they are strong enough, to keep moving forward. Really, we are still alive, in their memories." Pyrrha could only smile as she nodded in agreement.

(A/N: Why did I give quotes against Ruby when she's not in DBA yet? Listen, she's confirmed to appear in Death Battle against Maka at some point, so her appearance is basically inevitable. Call it future-proofing. Oh, also, just in case somebody wants to ask why I went with Trust Love as Penny's theme instead of Friend...look, I adore Friend, it's a fantastic song, but it just doesn't fit as a fighting game theme. Trust Love has a much more fitting tone for a fast-paced fighter, fits with Penny lyrically in plenty of ways, and was the theme of Volume 7, where she made her return. To me, it makes the most sense to use here.)
