The following day, Lili stood before the Twilight Mansion's gate. Some random cat person, the guard there, stopped her to ask about her business with the Loki Familia.

"I'm meeting Ais Wallenstein. She forgot to give my five thousand valis yesterday."

The cat person furrowed his eyebrow. Grumbling something about crazy toddlers, he sent a message to call for Ais inside while asking her to wait there.

After waiting a few minutes, another Loki Familia member came to the gate with Ais in tow.

"What's wrong, Lili?"

She clicked her tongue at the older girl. "You forgot my five thousand valis."

Ais blinked before opening her mouth. "...I honestly forgot. After Ryuu told me to go, I was too curious about what you were doing to remember the five thousand valis."

Lili sighed. "Me too."

After Ryuu's ridiculous proposal yesterday, Lili also forgot about the money she needed to have her status updated. As a result, she didn't update it yesterday.

"Come inside. I'll give it to you now. It's okay, right?" Ais asked the guard, who only let out a sigh and nodded at Ais' request. "Great. Let's go."

The sight of Lili entering near Ais caught everyone's attention, as Lili felt the eyes of the Loki Familia members inside the big mansion on her. She heard several mutterings of 'Pallum' and 'Finn.' She didn't understand all that, but then she remembered that Finn was the captain of the Familia.

"Speaking of Finn, how is he?"

"He worked as normal. But if Gareth or I mentioned you, he'd scream and lay down in the fetal position," Ais said with a flash of a smile.

Lili managed to deduce what Ais was doing, inviting her inside the Twilight Mansion. She had no doubt that Ais was going to surprise Finn. Who knew the Queen had such a playful streak? Scratch that; she remembered that this was Ryuu's queen she was talking about. Her mischievous side probably came from associating with Ryuu.

She continued following Ais until Ais stopped in front of a door.

"This is Finn's office. Wait inside as I get my money," Ais smiled. "Riveria told me to ask for your help to get Finn out of his rut."

Lili just sighed, knowing Ais did not mean to deceive her. And besides, the chance to talk one on one with Finn wasn't something she'd pass up. And so she knocked on the door.

"Come in."

With that instruction from inside, Lili opened the door and entered the room.

"Is there some-Lili?!"

Closing the door behind her, Lili looked toward Finn. His appearance was normal; no excessive eyebags nor a single hair unkempt. Looking from the outside, there was nothing weird with him. However, the aghast look on his face when he saw her said otherwise. Finn really did not want to see her.

"Good morning, Finn. Let's talk, shall we?"

"U-Uh, can we postpone this? I have some documents that I need to look over."

As if his prayer went unheard, the door to his room suddenly opened, and Gareth strolled inside. "Oh, Finn. Do you have some documents for me to look over? Oh? That stack? Sure!"

And then Gareth brought the stack with him as he left the room.

"So?" Lili smiled in amusement.

"Uh, that's right! I need to oversee the newcomers!"

Seconds after he said that, the door was knocked. Lili saw sweat pouring down on Finn's head.

"Come in," she said. After all, Finn would likely ignore whoever it was behind the door.

"Excuse me for interrupting, Finn," Riveria greeted her captain, entering the room. "I have to report that the newcomers are being overseen by Dain. That is all. Thank you."

And then Riveria left.

"Anything else?" Lili asked Finn.

"I'm very sure everyone is listening behind the door," Finn sighed. "Might as well face the music now."

Lili nodded. She took a seat offered by Finn in front of him. "I've heard Ryuu's point of view."

Finn exhaled loudly. It was as if his energy had left him when he heard Lili say that.

"I see..."

Maybe he was embarrassed. But, looking at him now, one thing was clear. Finn was afraid. He was scared of her judgment, not just ashamed. He probably did not want to see her disappointed expression for his actions in his past life after her death.

And with that, it all came together for Lili.

She stood up and ruffled his hair.

"I won't pass judgment, nor will I say anything now. Please wait for it, okay. Ryuu's helping me with something. Although, I think you've had enough of acting this meek just because of me. Is the Braver really that pathetic? Despite what they seemed, I'm sure the other Loki Familia members are concerned for you. And the Brothers too. ...except for Lyra, I think. She swore she'd do everything to make your life hell for chopping her on the neck two days ago," Lili said with a smile at the last part.

Looking at Finn, it was as if a great burden had been released. The slump on his shoulder was gone, and the hopeless expression morphed into a hopeful one.

"There's also one thing I noticed from when Ryuu told me everything. Finn, do you remember the afterlife?"

Finn shook his head. "No. The last thing I remember is using all of my power to kill Balor. After that, it was my new life when I regained my memories."

"It's the same for me. I, too, have no recollection of the afterlife," Lili revealed. She then took a breath and put her hand on her chest. "However, when I listened to Ryuu's tale yesterday, I felt something warm inside my heart. Deep inside my heart, a voice shouts, 'I was there!' as Ryuu told me of your last moments."

Lili looked down at her chest in wonder.

"I wonder if I was there to accompany you in the end."

A sharp intake of breath was heard from Finn. She looked at him and saw that his mouth was open.

Slowly, tears began falling down Finn's eyes.

"-imagination..."

"Hm?" Lili asked him because she didn't hear him the first time.

"It wasn't my imagination..." Finn said, lost in memories.

There were no other words to be said. The feelings inside her heart and whatever Finn's memories were, it painted a clear picture.

"Well, I just want to say that. Thank you, Finn." Lili turned back and started walking.

"Thank you!" Finn said to her amidst the sob.

"Don't mention it. Even if I'm younger, I'm still older, after all," Lili replied without looking back. She really wanted to be the big sister she didn't get the chance for in her previous life, but now she was cursed with being born later than her half-brother.

"Wait! Is it alright if I call you Big Sis?"

Lili froze.

Finn was asking if he could call Big Sis. 'Of course,' she wanted to say. She really cared for her half-brother in her previous life. To think that he even wanted to preserve their previous relations, she honestly was touched by Finn's gesture. There had been no time she didn't want to just blurt out their relationship in her past life. Because of the greediness of one man, Lili was robbed of her freedom and her family. Her restricted freedom was acceptable to her. It was the fact that she had to hide her bond from Finn that aggravated her. Of course, she wanted to have a normal siblings-like relationship with Finn, even in this life!

And yet...

And yet...

"I..."

Lili's mouth couldn't move to say 'yes.' Even if she wanted to, she couldn't utter the word. What right did she have to be called 'big sister' by Finn? She did nothing for him. She even held him back from his full potential. At the last minute, she cursed Finn to become a vengeful wraith instead of living peacefully. She had done nothing to deserve being called a big sister.

Even now, she was troubling Ais because of her circumstances. And yet, Finn offered to help without any hesitation. Was it no wonder that she did not want to be helped?

And so, despite what her heart wanted, her mouth couldn't move.

"I see..." Finn sighed. "Thank you, Lili."

"...Sorry."

And then Lili hurriedly left the room.

A/N: A little shorter this time. Basically this should've been the resolution to the Finn-Lili conflict, but then Finn had to pull the Onee-san card and make Lili doubt herself. That's right, the conflict isn't over yet! But this time instead of Finn, it's coming from Lili herself! In the meantime, since I've set up something and left you all in a cliffhanger for the resolution, I'm just gonna say that we'll take a break from the Finn-Lili and have a timeskip next chapter. I've written some parts, hence I cut it shorter than usual. Sorry for the wait.
