Please don't throw rocks at me *docks*. It has been forever, and for that, I am so sorry. Med school is HARD you all, especially in the time of Covid. Anyway, the semester is over, and I have a few weeks to myself before classes start again. Unfortunately, I still have to work. A girl has to earn a living. But I will have a lot more free time in the next couple of weeks, and I intend to put it to good use writing!

Without further ado... Bella gets some answers this chapter.

"Hey, Bella!"

"Hi, Jacob." I replied, searching for a table to grab after walking into the café.

It was a good thing I'd come a little earlier. There were only 2 tables left.

"What can I get you?"

"An iced tea please!" I answered, walking towards a table.

"No Tequila today?"

I stopped dead in my tracks. Tequila? Why would I want to drink Tequila today?

I turned to stare at Jacob, aghast. He laughed and started to prepare my iced tea.

"Don't tell me you don't remember anything." He said, an amused smile plastered on his lips.

"What are you talking about, Jacob?" I asked, getting annoyed with his innuendos.

He chuckled, shook his hand, and handed me my glass.

"Nothing, Bella. Never mind… In any case, you were very, very sexy last night. Black is definitely your color. I hope we can… do it again!" he winked at me before walking away, leaving me to my interrogations.

Do it again? What did he mean by that?

And black is definitely my color? Was he talking about my dress or…

… or my underwear?

Oh My God.

I remembered the lingerie I had fallen asleep in last night.

It was a black lacy set.

Black!

No, it was impossible. If I had undressed in front of Jacob, I would remember!

"No Tequila today?"

Lord Jesus! Could it be that I had drank too much last night, made out with Jacob and no longer remembered? I struggled to recall fragments of our conversation…

"Don't tell me you don't remember anything…"

No. No, that didn't mean anything.

"In any case, you were very, very sexy last night."

No, no, no.

"I hope we can… do it again!"

"NOOOO!"

I had shouted and stood up from my chair without realizing it before the amused stares of the students at the neighboring tables.

It was preposterous! Jacob and I couldn't have…

"Let us know if we're interrupting." Rose's familiar voice declared.

She and Alice were standing before me, hands crossed over their chest.

"Yeah, it's not very nice to shout 'NO!' as we're trying to join you!" Alice added.

"Is it because you want to be alone with Jacob?" Rose insinuated, exchanging a knowing look with my roommate.

I threw her a death glare. I was so tired of all these innuendos! First Edward, then Jacob, and now the girls!

"Oh come on, Bella, lighten up! I have great news!" Rose declared, sitting down.

"Do tell!" Alice encouraged, an eager expression on her face, taking a seat as well.

"It's about Emmett…"

Emmett? Who the hell was Emmett? Did this have to do with last night's freshmen welcome party too? If that was the case, then the hypothesis of my drinking too much and forgetting everything was becoming more and more likely… Which meant it was entirely possible that I had done things with Jacob, which I feared.

Bad girl, Bella. Bad!

"It turns out that in addition to being a student, Sexy Muscles has a job at the University. Guess what!"

While I was wracking my brain trying to recall who Emmett was and trying to remember what had happened the night before, Alice was drawing all kinds of hypotheses. Unable to hold it in any longer, my best friend spoke up again.

"Ladies… you won't believe it… Emmett is a… resident advisor! And guess whose dorm room he is responsible for this year?"

Alice seemed to ponder for a moment.

"Ours?" She tried.

"BINGO!" Rose responded, pointing a victorious finger at my roommate. "And you know what it means…"

"That room 263 is going to make some noise!" Alice laughed.

"You bet! Emmett may have played hard to get last night, but he won't last a week before he ends up in my bed and begs me to never leave. He won't resist very long… Soon, he'll be mine!" She declared with a determined look that Alice applauded loudly.

Ok, Bella. It's all good. Everyone is talking about things you have no memory of, but it's all good!

"Are you guys done?!" I asked as they were establishing a plan to attract this famous Emmett to Rose's dorm room.

They glared at me, exchanged the same knowing look as a few minutes before, and then glared at me again.

"Is there a problem, Bell's?"

"No. In fact, there are two. Guys, I want you to promise that you'll answer all my questions, and most importantly, most importantly, that you won't make fun of me!"

"Promise." They replied in unison.

I sighed. This wasn't going to be easy.

"Ok. Problem number 1: I have no recollection whatsoever of last night's events."

They burst out laughing in spite of their promise.

"Girls!" I scolded,

"Sorry, Bella, but it's so funny. It's quite natural that you don't remember given all the Tequila you gulped." Rose commented.

Oh my God, Jacob was right: I had drunk too much Tequila!

I swallowed with difficulty.

"And what…" I cleared my throat. "What happened at the party? Tell me. I want to know everything!"

They shared yet another knowing look and tried to contain their laughter.

"Ok…" Rose started, regaining her composure. "When we arrived, the atmosphere was cool, but we needed to loosen up… Well, really, you did. Anyway, when Jacob saw you, he handed us a few shots of Tequila."

"A few shots?"

"Ok, well maybe an entire tray…" she conceded.

I see. Jacob was the one who had gotten me drunk! To get a girl drunk to get her into bed?! I found that repugnant. He was going to get an earful from me!

"Then we went to dance, which was very funny by the way. Then, we found Jasper at the bar."

I frowned. I had danced? Me? And Jasper had come to the party?

Yes, Bella. Remember, Alice told you last night!

"Then, you noticed Edward was there on the other side of the room with Ben, a friend, Emmett, his cousin, and incidentally, my future boyfriend…"

Alice laughed at Rose's last comment.

Hearing that Edward had been there from Rose's mouth made my stomach ache…

Of course he was there, Bella! He told you earlier that you enjoyed last evening to the fullest!

To the fullest…

"Girls, in what kind of a state was I in exactly?"

"To be completely honest, you were barely standing on your feet. Jasper and I went to greet Ed', Em', and Ben. Rosalie wanted to join us, but you were nervous because of my brother, so you ordered some liquor courage… I think that last shot of Tequila is really what took you out." Alice answered.

I took a deep breath.

Ok. So Edward had seen me drunk out of my mind. Perfect. What else?

"Continue."

"Edward invited you to dance and…"

My heart leapt into my throat.

"Wait… WHAT? Edward invited me to dance?" I asked, incredulous.

I couldn't help but smile in spite of the surrealism of the situation. How could I not remember being so close to such perfection? How could I not remember his hands on my waist? His breath on my face? It was surreal…

"Yep! You shared a few slow dances. Things seemed to be going quite well as a matter of fact, but then..."

Oh Lord, I could tell I wasn't going to like what was next.

"Bella, you really don't recall anything at all?" Alice questioned hesitantly.

I shook my head.

Damn, what could I have done? Jumped on him? Kissed him? Kicked him? Raped him?

Escaped with Jacob leaving him behind?

"If you really want to know, then… Then… Well, Rose, you tell her!"

Rose sighed.

"You rushed towards the exit with Edward following behind. We figured he'd done something to you, so we tried to run after you, but when we arrived outside, we found you vomiting in a pot of flowers and trying to push Edward away with a bunch of rather scathing remarks."

I spit out the sip of tea I had in my mouth, which made my two friends curse.

I couldn't believe what Rose had just revealed to me.

I, Bella Swan, had puked in front of the guy I had a huge crush on.

And moreover, I had mistreated him! God, I wanted to throw myself off a bridge…

Noting my distraught look, my friends gave me a sympathizing smile.

I could put together the remainder of the evening myself: Edward had made fun of me and had put great care into staying as far away from me as he could for the rest of the party. That had frustrated me, so I had fell back on Jacob. I had brought him back to my room, and we'd slept together, which explained why I had woken up this morning in nothing but my underwear. It was true: I had slept with Jacob. The two strong hands that had carried me back to my room were Jacob's.

I covered my face with my hands, devastated.

"Girls, I think I made a big mistake." I whispered.

Rose's eyes lit up.

"So something really happened between you when you got home?!" She asked, overexcited.

Visibly, she was enchanted about my despair!

"You guys know?"

"Well, given the way he looked at you during the evening and his kindness carrying you back to your dorm room…"

Had I heard that correctly? They were praising Jacob when it was his fault I had ended up in such a drunken state in the first place? Did Alice and Rose not care that I slept with a stranger while being on the edge of an ethylic coma? I was fully aware I needed to loosen up a little, but was it necessary to take it that far? For me to lose my virginity to a guy I did not even know.

My blood boiled.

"Oh really, you find it kind to get me drunk and then bring me back to my room to do me? I actually feel like ripping his eyes out!" I was on the verge of tears.

Alice's expression shifted, changing from amusement to consternation and then anger…

"Get you drunk? Bella, what the hell are you talking about? Edward almost yelled at us for making you drink! He stayed with you even though you treated him like dirt, and he brought you home, and you want to thank him by ripping his eyes out?"

My face turned livid at Alice's words.

The information slowly made its way to my brain.

"Wait, you… You mean to tell me that Edward is the one who brought me home?"

"Well, of course, who did you think we were talking about?!" Alice shrugged.

"I thought Jacob was the one who… he told me I was… and that he wanted us to… oh my God! Edward…"

Edward. Edward had brought me home.

Not Jacob, Edward.

Edward. Edward. Edward.

My mind started to spin dangerously.

So nothing had happened with Jacob. But I still wasn't relieved. It was almost even worse! What had happened once we'd been alone in my bedroom? Had he seen me in my underwear? Had he undressed me? Had we…

My hand started to shake without my being able to control them.

"Bella, I don't understand you! You keep telling us you have the hots for Edward, and now that we tell you that perhaps something happened between you two last night, you react as if we just informed you that you have some incurable disease. We're not following you!" Rose complained.

"Guys, you don't understand."

"No, indeed, we do not." Alice confirmed, irritated.

"The second problem I wanted to talk to you about is…"

"Is what?" They pressed in unison.

"Edward is my literature professor."

Their mouths fell open in disbelief.

Thank you for stopping by.
