Hawkgirl held her Nth Metal mace firmly in her hand as sparks emitted from the spiked head before she moved her head up to look at the Temen Ni Gru.

Sahara Desert
After sending Hawkgirl to Themysirca once again to find out who Are Sia is, Batman was now in the monitor room at the Watchtower, doing some of his investigating work to discover the connection of the three Devil Arms. Diana requested Dante for some one on one sparring to test his skills, to see if he was worthy of being his father's son. Now that was an offer he couldn't refuse. Trish and Green Lantern were there as spectators.
"You ready to do this, princess?" Dante asked, summoning The Rebellion in his hand and repositioned himself into his signature fighting stance. Diana cranked her neck resuming the amazon fighting stance with her own.
"The Amazons are warriors at birth. " Diana proclaimed proudly. Dante chuckled.
"Easy there. We're just sparring."
Taking offense to that, The Amazonian princess made the first move as she clashed swords with Dante who was a bit surprised by the sudden aggressiveness, which turned him on a bit. "This is no joking matter." She said as she swiped her sword, Dante avoided it and deflected it. He took a moment to regain his composure before resuming sword fighting. Diana was still taking the offense until Dante saw an opening to counter attack but Diana almost didn't block it until the very last minute.
Diana noted that Dante was a bit quicker than she was whilst Dante noticed that Wonder Woman was a bit versatile in her attacks but sometimes predictable to block and counter. "At Themscyira, we treat sparring as if we were in battle, we would train for hours until our bones break." Diana grunted while ducking her head from the swipe of the Rebellion. "We learn quickly that Death is not fair nor considerate and make no mistake, Son of Sparda. When you face an Amazon, you are facing the possibility of death."
Dante smirked a bit as he thrusted his sword hitting nothing but air. Diana had leaped over him, hitting him in the back with a kick before landing and swiped her sword, now it was she that hit air. Puzzled at first, the hair on the back of her neck alerted him as she barley blocked an attack from the side with her sword.
"Not impressed, Lantern?" Trish said noting the non impressive look on the former Marine's face. John simply shrugged.
"I've seen better. But he's not bad."
John then went to ask the Flash's one night stand of how did the speedster get a rather interesting woman like Trish. "Where did you and Flash hook up?"
"At a bar." Trish told him. "He stood up to a stalker that hit on me. I simply returned the favor by helping him get out of trouble. "
Green Lantern shook his head with a wistful smile. That's something that would've happened with the Flash.
The two combatants were now in a battle of wills. "So you met my dad? What was that like?" Dante grunted while trying to gain the upper hand in this.
"To be honest, he frightened me with his appearance when I first met him as a child." Diana told him when she first saw him at the Palace discussing war tactics with her mother Hipployta. "But I've come to learn that while he may have the appearance of a demon, he's not a one. He's an honorable warrior with compassion for all life."
"That's my old man for ya." Dante said as he elbowed her in the face, stunning the amazonian Heir apparent before throwing her over his hip to the sand. "All tough on the outside, but a big softie on the inside."
Recovering quickly, Diana then turned tables by nip up to her feet and grappled Dante in a wrestling hold, slamming him to the ground. "Speaking from experience?" Diana replied.
Dante chuckled pushing her over with both feet as she tried to pounce on him. "Definitely."
The two combatants resumed fighting with the two exchanging blows. Dante with his flamboyant but fluid kicks and punches against Diana's strict but rigid grappling attacks.

20 minutes later.
Some time later, Dante and Wonder Woman decided that it was a tie as the two combatants ended the sparring session on a good note.
"You fought well, Dante." Diana said, shaking hands with the devil hunter. "You truly are the Son of Sparda."
"You're no slouch either, princess." Dante replied. To be honest he hadn't had this much fun in a long time with other people than Vergil. "I'd hope we could get a rematch soon to see who wins."
She was already looking forward to it with great expectancy. "I'll hold you to that."
Hawkgirl appeared, landing on the sand, having missed the entire session but it was for a good reason as she had a look of trouble on her face which didn't bode well with anyone.
"We have a problem." Hawkgirl told them.

Flash simply stared at her in disbelief after getting the bombshell of all bombshell. Hipployta was too. "Come again?!"
Aresia smiled as if she knew something that they didn't and they didn't like it. "You don't know, do you? About your heritage."
For once he was at a total loss of words. He wasn't anything special. He was just a regular joe that happens to have superpowers. "Well, it seems that our friend is in for some history trivia about his bloodline." Aresia declared. " Your ancestor was a soldier from the human army that aided The Dark Knight Sparda in defeating Mundus by using the Yamato dipped in his blood to banish him back to the Underworld."
"That is preposterous, Aresia." Hipployta scoffed not believing her for a moment. "You cannot possibly prove that this man is the ancestor of the man aided in Sparda's victory 2000 years ago. I would've known about it by now."
"Oh, I already have. With this blood sample I extracted from Him." Aresia replied showing a blood tube that no doubt contained Flash's blood to the Amazonian Queen. Hipployta's eyes widened as she recognized it.
"The Cylinder of Clio."
The cylinder was an old blood tube created from the Goddess of History to help those to learn about their blood line. In other words, it was a magical blood test machine.
Aresia nodded, tucking it back. "This all but confirms it."
In that moment, Hipployta saw the end product of her lie she told to the adoptive amazon when she was a child and she'd never felt more ashamed than she was right now. "You have gone mad, Aresia. This is not the Amazon way."
Aresia looked at her as if she couldn't believe she'd just say that. "Please, spare me the righteous lecture, Hipployta. Don't try to claim you're any different than me. I was not the first one to betray the Amazon code nor will I be the last."
"So what now, you're gonna try to kill us men again?" Flash spat.
Aresia shook her head no as she revealed a more sinster plan to the two captives. "No. This time, I plan to kill all men andwomen alike by uniting both the Underworld and Man's World right here at the Temen-Ni-Gru by using your blood to initiate it."
Wide Eyed, both Hipployta and Flash shared a glance of fear as they realized where they were. The place where the battle for humanity's survival was decided.

Flash and Hipployta were feeling way down in the dumpster after Aresia left the cell to prepare herself. Hipployta was feeling a great deal of shame for letting her prejudice views on man wrap an innocent child's mind into a homegrown terrorist that almost committed genocide on male population and was going to attempt again. Flash on the other hand was feeling upset and angry. This is not exactly he'd been planning to spend this week, aiding a bad girl to destroy the world. He'd rather enjoy the way the world is thank you very much.
"I am sorry, Flash."
Flash almost told her to take the apology and shove it up her buttocks. But he didn't to as he held his tongue.
"I assume you are aware of The Amazon's inclusion in the war between the Man's world and Underworld?" Hipployta inquired.
Flash didn't answer. How could he? Instead he gave her a small nod. "There was a reason for that. It's true of what Aresia had told you that it is not the first time that an Amazon had violated our code. There had been others before her." Hipployta revealed with a painful look in her eyes.
Flash listened with great reluctance to the story as it was obvious it bore some importance. "Iorena for an example." Hipployta said. "She was a formidable soldier in the Amazonian Army and someone that I considered a close friend. I guess that you can say that she was adored by all of us."
What she didn't mention to the Flash was that Iorena was the godmother of Diana due to the closeness she had with the Queen. They were like actual sisters, growing up that would spar every day and would pull childish antics on each other, which made it even more tragic for the Queen to relieve through it. "But for all her achievements, she harbored a terrible secret. She was in love with Mundus."
She let out a dejected sigh, remembering it like yesterday when she learned about her affair. "When I uncovered her secret, I tried to make her see reason. I couldn't have her bear the shame that I have for my affair with Hades. But she wouldn't listen, telling me that while the Amazons are warriors, we shouldn't suppress our emotions. The truth was that she was blinded by her infatuation for Mundus who only saw her as a means to end to gain access to three Devil Arms kept in Themysirca. Once he'd obtained them, he'd killed her in cold blood and attempted to unify the UnderWorld and Man's world through a blood ritual. We barley thwarted his plans. After Mundus was defeated, we dispatched them to different sites in the world to prevent the Prince of Darkness's return. "
Flash could only stare incredulously after Hipployta was done with her story. If he didn't think he was screwed then, he was now.

Watchtower
Flash gazed at Trish discussing the case with Batman and Dante. Wow, she's still the same ass kicking babe as they met in Milano when he was exposed to the world of Supernatural. He still gets nightmares about that Edward Scissors hands thing from time to time, not that he'd admit to anyone of course. It's a guy code thing.
Anyway after overcoming the shock to his system about demons, hell fire and that crap his grandpa Flash used to sprout about (Ugh, he could recite every last one of them in memory.) they'd agreed it was one time thing and remain on good terms.
He sighed, refocusing on the case in hand. There'd plenty of time for catching up later.

Present
After calming an irate Amazonian princess from unleashing her fury on the person responsible when she learned of her mother's kidnapping which was easier said than done, they went to the Watchtower when Batman alerted them of some new investigate findings. They were all gathered at the table to learn about the findings that Batman made. Hawkgirl noted that Flash wasn't with them which worried her a little. He isn't usually this late. An hour at best but not this long. Where can he be? If he's flirting with another girl, she might smash his head with her mace.
"Here are the names of the three Devil arms purchased by Are Sia I discovered from my research in Greek mythology." Batman informed them displaying three pictures of the Devil Arms on the table. One was a broad sword, the second was a perfectly shaped wooden cup and the third one was a crown. "The Sword of Cerberus. Forged from the remains of the gatekeeper to the Underworld, by Hephaestus himself. The second is the Bowl of Hecate, the goddess of magic and the last one is the crown of Zeus. Recognize the names, Diana?"
Wonder Woman had a horrified look as the Dark Knight listed the names of the weapons that Are Sia had bought. She immediately knew those names and the importance of it. "No. She wouldn't..." She murmured.
Noting the pale look on her face, Green Lantern had a sneaky feeling that it did not spell good news. "What is it?"
"The artifacts were the ones that Mundus used in attempt to unify the Underworld and our world through a blood ritual at the Temen Ni Gru." Diana explained. "After Sparda had defeated him, they were scattered across the seas to prevent his return to this realm. If Are Sia had obtained them as well as kidnapping my mother... "
And for the first time, a look of seriousness replaced the look of boredom on Dante's face. "Wait, did you just say Temen Ni Gru?" He inquired unsure if he heard it right.
"You've been there?"
Dante nodded. "Yeah, a long time ago." His mind went to recall a memory he had with his brother at the Temen Ni Gru when they were having the battle of Ideologies at the Tower of Blood all those years ago through violence.
"Foolishness, Dante. Foolishness. Might is the measure of strength and without it, you can't protect anyone, let alone yourself."
The youngest son of Sparda got up from his chair and went up to the landing bay. "Where are you going?" Hawkgirl inquired.
"A trip down the old memory lane." Dante said vaguely as he went to the elevator and headed down the bay. "You coming or what?"
Diana did not waste any time follow suit. If there's a possibility that her mother was there, she would take it.

Temen Ni Gru
Flash couldn't believe this was happening! Why him? Why is it that he always gets himself into trouble and it wasn't even his own mess to begin with! He should've stayed in bed today.
"Ya know, for all your posturing about how men are supposedly bad towards chicks like you, you have a lot of skeletons in your closet, ya know that?" Flash said while looking at Hipployta critically, picking holes in her Amazonian ideology. "Maybe you should update some of your laws about 'thou shall not let men step a foot on this island full of hot women."
"You're not the first one to have told me that." Hipployta remarked, thinking about similar words that Hawkgirl told her before thwarting Aresia's plans.
"Good." Flash had a lot more to say but seeing the hypocritical holier than thou queen was guilt ridden enough as it is, he held back. Besides, there were more pressing concerns at hand, like how to break free from the cuffs.
Meanwhile Hipployta was filled with self loathing, blaming herself for the lie she told Aresia all those years ago that inadvertently made her who she was. She should've told her the truth from the start but her prejudices and fears of the outside's influence when it truth was her own, prevented her from that.
A vibrating sound broke the Queen of Amazons from her musings as she looked up to see Flash's hands going through the cuffs with ease. "You broke free." She said a bit stunned by the display of his powers. He reminded her of Hermes, the god of speed.
"I could've done that the moment I woke up." Flash boasted proudly with the same boisterous attitude she saw at the Pit of Tartarus when Hades was freed. He went on to free the blonde Queen from her restraints as he phased her hands through the chain cuffs.
"Why didn't you?" Hipployta asked him while rubbing her wrists to get some circulation back to her hands.
"I couldn't." Flash admitted. "Not without putting you at risk and without knowing what she was gonna do next."
Hipployta was slightly impressed. Emphasis on slightly. "It seems that my daughter was wise in befriending you." She commented.
Flash shrugged nonchalantly. "What can I say? I'm a people person."
Even though she kept a stoic look, there was a twinkle of amusement in her eyes. "Oh, I'm sure."
