Two women stood on the side of the field, watching the alien speed away from the unconscious forms of their loved ones. Pan, hands on her hips, moved forward. Vegeta Jr's mother also walked forward. Silently understanding each other, they picked the boys up and took them to a hospital.

*

Sometime later, Vegeta Jr woke up in a hospital bed, bandages restricting his movement.

"Dang it!" he said, remembering he should have kicked higher. His gaze fell across the room to Goku's unconscious form. While Vegeta steamed, Goku began to stir. Just then, Pan and Vegeta's mother stepped in.

"What were you boys thinking?" said Pan, gently. Vegeta's mother already had him by the ear.

"Explain yourself!" she shouted.

The boys both started talking at once, a chorus of whining explanations. However, as the two spoke the door creaked open a slight bit, letting some of the cold air in. then the door opened fully and someone stepped inside of the room, causing the two boys and their parents to go silent as they entered. Pan turned her head towards the person that had come in as they slowly started walking from the door and towards the kids, specifically Vegeta Jr at first. This man was extremely old and riddled in wrinkles. He was hunched in posture, and he had no hair at all, but he had two short antennae on his forehead and his skin was green in color. This man would then pull out a somewhat small bag and two of his fingers in it, pulling out a green bean from the bag. Vegeta and Goku just looked on at the weird man as he pulled out the bean and extended his hand out towards Vegeta Jr, the bean lying on his palm. The room was silent, not a sound was heard outside of the blowing wind and the anxious breathing of everyone in the room whom watched what the old, green man would do.

"Uh… What am I supposed to do with this… thing?" Vegeta Jr asked, breaking the silence that had hung over the room for a few long minutes by that point, picking up the green bean as he said it.

"It's rather simple. Just eat it." The man spoke with a somewhat ethereal voice which didn't at all sound like it was coming from an old man.

"alright… Wait, are you sure this won't give me some sort of virus or anything like that?" The young Saiyan then asked.

"I've seen people eat it many times, I'm absolutely sure nothing bad will happen to you." He replied.

"well… if you say so." Vegeta Jr said before swallowing the bean. Suddenly, Vegeta felt a sense of power radiate through him. If felt like he had actually gotten way stronger than he was before, but he still was somewhat hurt. The Bean, whatever the heck it was, may not have completely healed his body, but a little rest would finish it. The Saiyan got off his bed and stood up, looking at the old man.

"Vegeta Jr, how do you feel?"

"I feel fine."

"Good." The green man replied. He then walked over to Goku Jr's bed and gave him one of the beans before walking towards the door. But before he left, he turned back to the two.

"When the both of you have the time, you'll both need to come meet up with me. When you do, I'll explain who the person you both fought was and I'll help the both of you train to help fight him.' The old man explained before exiting the room, leaving the two boys, alongside Vegeta's mom, confused on who he was. But Pan on the other hand had a more solemn look on her face. She knew who that man was, and she understood what had happened with Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr now. And she now understood how dire the situation was.

Goku Jr walked beside Pan with a look of wonder on his face. "Who was that guy?" he asked.

"That green one."

"That was Dende," Pan replied pensively. She paused walking for a moment.

"What is it, Pan?" Goku Jr. Asked. He seemed genuinely concerned by the pause of her steps.

She had a faraway look in her eyes, as though she were looking beyond, into the past.

"Perhaps a Namekian is a good thing," she said to herself.

"He might teach the boy to dodge." Her eyes slid over to Goku Jr's worried face, and she smiled.

"Well, what do you say?" she said.

"I think Dende would be a perfect trainer for you." she added

The boy kicked at the sidewalk with the toe of his shoe.

"If you think so, Pan, I think maybe I could learn a thing or two from him."

"Good," Pan said.

"Like how to grow those tasty beans!" said Goku excitedly.

"Or learn to cook green people food!" Pan laughed.

"Silly boy, for combat training!" Goku's face fell.

"Oh," he said.

"That too, sure." He smiled and took Pan's hand as they continued their stroll.
