I don't own Danny Phantom or Grossology. They are owned by their respective companies. Though Joe Gutchern is an original character.
Danny, Ty, and Abby stared at the now monstrous form of Joe Gutchern. The disgusting ghost of filth ones was now a thirty-foot-long serpentine waste dump of horror and disfigurement. The bodies of the citizens absorbed into his body seemed chopped up.
Their arms and legs sprouted out from the snake-like tail as their face were crowded into Gutchern's torso. It was a horrific sight, similar to looking at a piece of modern art made of human waste products mixed with garbage.
The teens could only imagine what it must have been like for the trapped souls.
"This...this is...how?" Ty stuttered, unable to find the words.
"It's all the ectoplasm. Since Joe Gutchern can reform his layers of filth and eveyone is covered in it—"
"Dude, don't finish that sentence. We got it," Danny interjected Lab Rat.
"So, what now?" Abby asked. She checked the goo on her cannons. Half capacity right now.
"I guess it's still the same plan." Lab Rat looked at Danny's back. "We still got the prototype containment unit."
"That doesn't sound like a good plan," Ty grimaced. He took aim as Gutchern stretched their new body.
"Well, we don't actually need him captured for long. If we can get inside and completely cut off his hold in our world, then the virus will die off as the ectoplasm stops flowing due to not finding its host ghost."
The teens stared at their gagologist. They didn't have to win. Just make sure Gutchern stayed out of reach for a second. It seemed like an easy task if it weren't for the fact the ghost in question was staring at them, probably having heard the entire ordeal.
The collected power from the virus was rapidly circulating in his mind. Joe was feeling the power, and he loved it. He eyed the heroes with anger at the thought of it being taken away.
"Ahahaha! Now this is POWER!" Gutchern exclaimed.
The grossologists aimed their goop cannons as Danny charged his fists.
"Open fire! Try to contain him!" Danny commanded. He flew forward as Ty and Abby backed him up. Lab Rat fired away as Hermès was on a shoulder-mounted cannon on his back.
"Awwww," Abby chuckled. "That's so adorable!"
"Well, I couldn't let my best friend come out unprotected." Lab Rat patted his backpack. "So I made this just for him."
Hermes squeaked in authoritative joy as he fired again, aiming for the ghost's shoulder, cleaning off a good chuck as an arm threatened to fall off.
Danny flew in fist first as he tried to pry the victims off the gross sluggy ghost. It was one thing to have a fist in the guy, but being inside was another level of disgustingness the boy never wanted to feel again. Even with the slime suit, the ghost boy felt every layer of waste and waste by-products.
And the mess inside was worse as the infected citizens were somehow dismembered yet still able to feel their arms and legs. It was like a nightmare he hadn't seen yet, only several times more dangerous.
The ghost boy pushed forth as hard as possible, but the filth around gathered and spewed him out like a booger. The boy phased the disgustingness off as he stared down the ghost, who regurgitated his missing shoulder.
Gutchern was not only stronger but faster. He flew circles around Danny as the various limbs punched the ghost boy. He then curled his tail up and slammed it down, leaching the boy into the ground with a small crater of impact.
Danny groaned as he got up, rubbing his head.
"Danny!" Ty and Abby cried out. "look out!"
The ghost boy looked up just in time to see Joe crashing down on him. Or the gross ghost would have had a rocket not been launched at him. With a gooey explosion, Gutchern's collision course was altered to the street away from Danny.
The teens looked at lab Rat, whose goop cannon turret now had some rockets attached.
"You gotta be prepared for things like this. Right, Hermès?" Lab Rat said with a smirk. Hermès squeaked in agreement as he fired another rocket.
Gutchern was hit dead-on, knocking him back a few feet.
"Alright, Hermès!" Ty cheered with a fist pump. He turned to the gagologist and his friend. "Where did those rockets come from?!"
"You like them? I've been working on some heavy artillery for our goop cannons," Lab Rat pointed to the turret. "The rockets have proved very effective."
Danny and grossologist awed for a moment as Hermes fired another round at Gutchern. The rocket, tiny as they were, packed a serious punch that sent the spirit reeling back. It instantly earned everyone's approval as they ganged up on their gross ghost.
They poured on the disinfectant goop as Danny charged forward. The ghost boy poured everything into his fists as he went inside and pummeled through the flighty body. He was going for a solid center he once hit without getting the citizens' bodies. Some hit and most missed, but it gave Gutchern a hard time.
"I don't care how long it takes! You are going down!" Danny cried out. He channeled his ferocity into his fists. His hand, charging an ectoplasmic green, turned blue as he rocketed into the ghost. On contact, the layer of filth froze over and dropped down as Joe shivered from the cold.
"W-w-w-what was t-t-that?" Gutchern cried out.
Abby, Ty, and Lab Rat were impressed. it seemed Danny had also
"That. was. awesome!" Ty squeed in excitement.
"So cool!" Abby said.
"Can you do that again?" Lab Rat asked.
"I...I don't know how," Danny said, staring at his hands. He wasn't sure how, but it seemed he got a new power. Which begged the question of how he could summon it again.
Granted, he learned on the go before, but this time he barely paid attention to what he was doing, only focusing on trapping Gutchern.
Speaking of which, the gross ghost got over his chill as he smashed the ice and reclaimed the filth.
"Don't think for a second that this will stop me for long!" Gutchern yelled.
Gutchern rose up. The layers of muck, filth, and poop that were cleaned off, formed back, healing like a wound. The gross ghost gave a mean glare as he eyed Hermès.
The little rat square in fear, pulling up a hood on his custom-made slime suit. Lab Rat gave his friend an encouraging pt on the head as the gagologist grabbed something from his belt.
The gross monster plus ghost charged forward, intending to ram the teens. But the gagologist chucked the object from his belt into the ghost's chest. He and the others dodged to the sides as they watched the spirit phase through the buildings then come back through them.
Danny got in front, inhaling to send a ghostly wail, but Lab Rat stopped him.
"Wait for it," Lab Rat commanded.
His friends wanted to ask why, but the answer came immediately as Gutchern's chest exploded in foam. The ghost cried out in pain as he ejected the substance and reapplied more layers of filth.
"Cleaning depth charges. Made from a compound of chemical harmful to ghosts and bacteria, but not people," Lab Rat boasted. Hermès squeaked in cheer as he switched the turret back to goop cannon.
"That does it!" Gutchern screamed. He gave a haunting stare as he eyed the heroes. "It's time one of you goes!" He looked over to Ty, who was further away from the group. The ghost slithered over with great speed, aiming for the boy.
The teens raced over but were swatted away. Gutchern used the hands on his tail to grip and toss his other foes away, leaving Ty alone. The boy fired back, but Gutchern grabbed Ty before putting him into a ball of layer flight. He tossed the ball up before beating it away with his tail, far from the teens.
Abby watched in horror as her younger brother left her sights.
"Ty!" Abby screamed. She outreaches her hand in vain as her little brother is flung away. She cried, fearing the worst before rage took over.
"You're gonna PAY FOR THAT!" Abby screamed, charging forward.
In completely reasonable blind rage, the female grossologist fired her goop canon with tears forming behind her mask and goggles. The goop blast themselves didn't do much damage to Joe but did gain his attention.
In his annoyance, Gutchern spits out a gross sticky substance at the redhead. Causing the female grossologist and her goop canon to get stuck to a random car as she angrily flails about, trying her best to free herself and continue fighting. The ghost boy came flying to her rescue, phasing her out of the prison.
But once freed, the girl charged ahead again, firing at anything moving. A firm grip from the ghost boy held her in place as he and Lab Rat took her behind the vehicle.
"Abby!" Danny cried out. He shook the girl, trying to knock some sense back into her. "Abby! Listen to me! Ty will be fine!"
Abby stared at Danny. Her eyes flooded with tears at the thought of anything terrible happening to her brother. She tried to retort or justify her rage, but she stuttered.
"He'll be fine! He was thrown in a ball of Joe, that'll probably take the impact!"
The girl lifted her googled as she wiped away the tears. She took her time standing up.
"You good?"
"I'll be fine," Abby huffed. The girl stared into Danny's eyes. The glowing green was calming as she collected herself amongst the carnage. Standing up, she prayed for her brother's safety as she fought on. To hurt her brother was to bring ten times the pain back.
And Gutchern was going to be a stain on the earth when she was done with him.
Affirming Danny and Lab Rat of her peace of mind with a nod, Abby went back into the fight, aiming carefully to not waste any goop. The boy followed as they jumped back up.
With careful and aggressive coordination, the teens managed to creep closer to Gutchern. The ghost slithered through the air as he kept to an advantage, speeding around while raining down bits of himself.
A barrier was erected by Danny with one hand as his other fired at the ghost. Abby and Lab Rat fired away as Hermès brought out a targeting module with the rockets. Locking on, the rat let loose three rockets that hounded the putrid poltergeist till they landed on his head.
Joe flailed around as he tried to make use of his headless body. Or rather regurgitate another.
"Let's see Gutchern get back from that," Abby snarked as she grabbed the containment unit from Danny.
Three a ran over quickly as Gutchern regenerated his head.
"This is for my brother!" Abby screamed. She pressed the button, and a beam of light came forth, sucking in the specter.
Joe screamed as he felt every molecule dragged and pulled into the light. He didn't know what was going on but could barely go against the force.
But Gutchern would not go down without a fight. While the tractor beam rendered any attacks unless it didn't stop him from flailing his long, snake-like tail at The girl. Danny and Lab Rat tried to stop it, but the momentum was too much and knocked them into Abby, shutting off the containment unit.
Danny, Abby, and Lab Rat were slammed away. As they got up, the trio heard the sound clanking part. They stared at the ground where the shattered remains were.
The container was destroyed, and Joe was still free.
Another chapter closer as we reach the end. The only question is how? I already got that figured out, but I'm not going to say anything yet. Enjoy your day and stay safe!

Reviews:
RonaldM40196867: I've seen his work and know of him. Sounds interesting. The grombies are just gross zombies. I was thinking about an army for the bad guys and thought the idea of mind control through a virus would be a great and gross idea. No idea if I'll ever do a Danny Phantom crossover with Molly Megee. Spider-Man? I'm doing one already, technically.
LordGriffin1000: Neither did I. This was supposed to be ten chapters, but it somehow doubled.
Jay The Average Fanboy: Yes, they would. Danny would feel bad for Fartor(the guy was given a Dutch oven by his brother for years! Who does that?). Yes.
