REVIEW REPLIES:

I don't know what to write her: Uh, thanks? I have no idea what that means, tbh. But… thanks for reviewing anyway!

DaughterofHecate: YES! DOWN WITH LOCKHART! UP WITH LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE(EXCEPT FOR UMBRIDGE). Yep, Nico is super stressed right now, as this chapter will hopefully convey. Artemis could ruin Lockhart's whole career by means of public humiliation in a heartbeat, but alas, that will have to wait. Draco… will be revealed next chapter, so until then, no spoilers! Artemis is incredibly clumsy, so of course he'd break his most prized possession. I doubt that you're still sick, but I feel for you either way. I know how aggravating loosing your voice can be. A late Happy New Year to you too, and thanks for reviewing!

Summer: Hi! Happy holidays to you too(even though the holidays are over)! I do feel a lot better now, thanks for the concern! This chapter is a lot longer, but not much really… happens. Just a little conversation. Yep, the Fates seem to give Artemis luck as bad as a demigod's sometimes, maybe because he's so obsessed with Greek mythology? Idk. I have no idea whether a hard drive would work either, to be honest. The way I imagined it, Artemis needs to observe the way the computer works in general, and how he can imitate the way it kind of… meshes with the magic without going haywire, he doesn't have any written or stored information on it that could be stored on a hard drive. Even after all those years surrounded by snobby upperclassmen, Butler still can't stand Lockhart. I mean, who could? And I've always seen Butler as more of a father figure to Artemis than his actual father, to be honest. Trust me, Nico will be. All in good time… Well, the similarities between Nico and Hades are really obvious, to be fair. About the Weasley twins, you're close, but not quite. It'll make sense in a few chapters though. I love the twins though, and I wish that they had done more in the original series. SO they'll be active participants in this story, even if most people don't even notice them. Dobby is doing… something all right. But, once again, no spoilers! I'm really glad that you enjoyed reading the first chapter, and I hope that you enjoy this one as well! Thanks for reviewing!

Nico flopped onto the coffin-like bed of the newly constructed Hades Cabin.

He wasn't sure who had decided that children of Hades were vampires, just because they generally despise sunlight. News-flash: even children of Hades don't like sleeping in coffins every night!

He had helped to construct the exterior of his cabin, but hadn't found the time to oversee the interior decorating.

That was obviously a huge mistake.

He felt his eyelids droop, shadow-travelling always seemed to make him feel exhausted. But he couldn't rest for long, he had more work to do!

The Titan war had finished a week ago, and Nico... wasn't actually sure how to feel about that. Yeah, he survived, and his dad didn't seem to hate him anymore(which was a huge plus), but he really didn't know how to deal with all these people who suddenly seemed to like him. Even at Hogwarts, where there were hundreds of students, people weren't exactly clamoring to be his friends. Not to mention how hard it was to travel between the Greek and Roman camps every week-

Oh gods.

Hogwarts.

He had forgotten to pick up his supplies! And he hadn't responded to any of his friends' letters! It wasn't really his fault, since it's a bit hard to concentrate on school when you're saving the world from your grandfather and trying to act as an ambassador between two groups of demigods who don't know about the other's existence!

Woah, was his life complicated or what?

He looked around for a calendar, before realizing that

a) He didn't have a calendar and

b) There was a huge stack of letters on his windowsill

He could guess who the letters were from, but unfortunately, they'd have to wait. Artemis and Draco would probably chew him out, but...

Nope. Calendar first.

He stumbled out of his cabin, and headed towards the Poseidon Cabin.

Nico didn't even bother knocking.

"Percy!" he yelled, throwing open the door.

No one replied, which was odd, since he had never failed to surprise Percy(except that one time... nope, not going to talk about that.)

Nico looked around the empty cabin, before shrugging and sitting down on Percy's blue, non-coffin bed.

"I'll just make myself comfortable while I wait." he murmured, propping up a pillow to support his back as he leaned against the wall.

Just a few minutes.

****Line Break****

Nico was woken up by the sound of someone clearing their throat.

It wasn't until he let out a huge yawn that he realized that he had fallen asleep, probably for longer than he had intended.

He kicked the blanket off his legs and started stretching, trying to wake himself up.

He froze.

Blanket?

He didn't recall tucking himself in with one of Percy's blankets? Or lying down, for that matter. He had been leaning against the wall, hadn't he?

Wait, why had he woken up again?

He reached for his sword desperately, despite knowing that it was nowhere nearby.

He heard a dark chuckle coming from a dark corner of the cabin.

"Relax." the deep voice said, "I come in peace." the man sounded vaguely amused, as though this whole situation was hilarious to him.

Nico almost tried to impale the stranger with a chunk of obsidian, before he realized that the stranger wasn't really a stranger at all.

"Father?" he asked in disbelief, "Is that you?"

Nico squinted at the corner as the shadowy figure of his father emerging from, well, the shadows.

"Hello son." Hades said with an awkward smile.

"What are you doing here?" Nico asked.

"Can't I visit my own son?" Hades... was that a tease? Nope, probably a command, This is the Lord of the Underworld we're talking about. "Sorry for ruining your much needed rest though."

"I-uh-what? What do you mean, much-needed rest? " He asked frantically, immediately on guard, "Who said anything about rest? I don't need rest!" he declared, wincing at how shrill his voice sounded.

"Are you implying that you aren't tired?" Hades challenged.

"Well, no..."Nico hesitated, "Kind of? I mean... I don't even know what I mean anymore!" he groaned cradling his head in his hands.

Hades hesitantly made his way towards him and sat down, "You seem very tired." he pointed out.

"Oh really?" he mumbled, still not lifting his head, "I hadn't noticed."

Hades coughed pointedly, "May I ask why you're exhausted to the point that you can't even think straight?"

"I - it's no big deal." The last thing he needed was for his father to see that he couldn't keep track of school, both camps and his duties in the underworld at the same time. Not now, when he had finally got his father to see him as someone competent, someone who could be trusted.

"Nico." Hades said sternly, "You are clearly overworking yourself, and as your father, I want to know why my son is walking around like one of my subjects. And I also want to know what you were doing in the sea spawn's cabin."

Nico felt himself turn red, "It's not what it looks like!" he protested, "I just needed a calendar!"

Hades arched an eyebrow, "A calendar?"

Nico's blush intensified, "I may or may not-" he began to mumble.

"Nico," Hades interrupted, "Speak clearly, I did not raise you to be a mumbler."

"I don't remember you raising me at all!" Nico protested, "Which was your fault by the way!"

"I did what I had to do!" Hades roared.

Nico froze and leaned away from his father. This wasn't like their arguments in Hades' throne room, when Nico actually had a good reason to be annoyed or upset, this was just him being a brat. Which that meant that he was probably about to get pulverized.

Hades reeled back in shock as well. Nico wasn't sure why, but maybe seeing his own son terrified of him had cooled him down a bit. Or maybe that was just his wishful thinking.

"Sorry." he muttered.

"Well, I suppose I can't expect you not to be a mumbler if you don't remember not being raised to be a mumbler. So it's not entirely your fault. You know, since you can't remember. And I'm the reason you can't remember. Which makes it not your fault." Hades rambled.

Nico had spent enough time with his father by now to know that this was his father's way of apologizing. Which meant that this conversation would get a lot more uncomfortable unless he changed the topic.

"I lost track of what day it is today, and needed to find Percy and ask him for a calendar." Nico explained, "But he wasn't here. I was going to wait for him, but I must have fallen asleep. You wouldn't happen to know today's date, would you?" he asked hopefully.

"Today's date? Let me think... August 31st."

"What!" Nico yelped, standing abruptly, "School starts tomorrow! I haven't even picked up my supplies yet! Oh my gods, I'm doomed!"

"Why haven't you picked up your supplies?" Hades asked with a frown, "You have enough money, don't you?"

"Yes, but I've barely had any free time since the war ended!" he blurted out in a panic, "I spend all my time at the roman camp, or here, helping Percy teach the kids to swordfight, or in China because I'm too tired to concentrate! I didn't even have time to look through my list of supplies!" he ranted, pacing up and down, pretty much talking to himself now, "I haven't had the time to do any of my summer homework, I haven't responded to any of my friends' letters, so the probably hate me now, and at this rate, I probably won't even catch the Hogwarts Express in time!"

Nico felt a cold hand on his shoulder.

"Calm down." his father commanded, "Why don't you tell your teachers and friends that you were busy? Problem solved."

"Busy?" he snorted," Busy doing what? I can't exactly tell them all that I've been fighting a war!"

"True." Hades nodded, "You're stressed and tired because you have to travel back and forth between both camps a lot, correct? So now you can't handle schoolwork?"

"Well... yes." he admitted, hanging his head low, "I- I just can't handle all three, okay? And I'm sorry if I let you down-"

"Let me down?" Hades asked, bewildered, "What ever made you think that you let me down?"

"Gee, I don't know, maybe it was the several times you told me that I had let you down, and that Bianca would've done literally anything better than I ever could?" he said bitterly.

Hades gaped at him, "I suppose I did say that, didn't I?" he said quietly, after a short pause.

Nico didn't reply, and instead opted to give him a weird, meaningless shrug.

Hades sighed, "Ignore everything I've said until now, okay? I don't hate you, I don't think that Bianca was in any way better than you, and I certainly don't think that you're a disappointment, and I apologize that I made it appear that way. I was wallowing in grief, and needed someone to blame. I do not think that you're a naive idiot anymore, do you understand?"

"But-"

"No buts." Hades stated firmly, "It is completely reasonable for you to feel overwhelmed by the prospect of dealing with three things at once. So I have a solution."

Nico grimaced, preparing himself to hear his father explain that it was foolish of him to assume that Nico was ready for such a big responsibility.

"You no longer need to attend Hogwarts."

*****Another completely unnecessary Line break*****

"Excuse me, what?" Nico asked after a moment of silence.

"You said that you couldn't handle school work along with the Greek-Roman fiasco, and you didn't even want to go to Hogwarts to being with, so there! Problem solved." He explained, sounding rather proud of himself.

"But I like school!" Nico protested.

Hades stared at him for a moment, "Wait, you do?"

"Yes!" Nico yelled, exasperated, "Did you not hear my worrying about friends and school a few minutes ago?"

"Yes," Hades said, sounding equally exasperated, "You were telling me how stressed the whole school thing is making you! Ergo, not going to school would make you feel better!"

"I actually have friends there! I don't want to leave now! Even if it does get me a bit worked up!"

"Friends?" Hades said in disbelief.

"Yes, friends!" Nico exclaimed, "Why is that so hard to believe?"

"So... you're actually happy at Hogwarts?"

"Well, yes." Nico said slowly, staring at his father warily.

"So the real reason you're so exhausted is because I told you that you need to join the legion? So know you don't have enough time for anything else?" Hades asked hesitantly.

Nico didn't reply, which seemed to be a good enough response for his father.

"Ah." Hades grimaced, "I see."

The two of them sat in silence for a few minutes.

"It appears," Hades began, "that I was mistaken to place such a huge responsibility on your shoulders."

Nico winced and hung his head even lower, blinking back tears.

"I shouldn't have forgotten that while you are a demigod, and a powerful one at that, you are still a child." he continued.

"So how about this: from now on, you need not participate in Camp Jupiter's activities regularly. Visiting once a month will be more than enough. How does that sound?"

Nico stared at his father in shock, "I- I don't understand. You said that it was incredibly important that I join the legion to earn the trust of Camp Jupiter! You know, so that they don't wage war against us when they find out about Greeks?"

"Well, perhaps that was an... oversight on my part. Maybe rather than earning the trust of the Romans by joining the legion as a legionnaire, you could form ties with them as... an ambassador." Hades suggested.

"An ambassador?" Nico echoed.

"Yes," Hades said thoughtfully, "that might just work. It would explain why you can't spend much time there, and it also means that you can come and go as you please. The Ambassador of Pluto." he declared, "What do you think?"

"I think... that this could work." Nico smiled.

"Excellent! I'll arrange it next Tuesday. So make sure that you spend Tuesday at Camp Jupiter." Hades beamed, which looked rather odd on his face, "Now you're free to attend school."

"I would be," Nico groaned, "If I had remembered to pick up my supplies. They're probably all sold out now!"

Hades gave him a sly grin, "You mean, these supplies?" he asked, snapping his fingers.

All of a sudden, a pile of books, a box of quills, a set of robes, and a whole bunch of other stuff appeared on Percy's floor. It didn't take a genius to guess that these were his school supplies.

"What-how?" he gaped, "I know, I know," he answered himself before his father could, "You're a god."

Hades chuckled, "Indeed I am." He stood up, "Well, know that that's settled, I suppose that I had better go now."

"Wait!" Nico yelled. "I just- I wanted to say..."

Hades turned to him, "Well?"

"Thank you." he decided, "I wanted to say thank you. So, thanks... dad."

Hades smiled at him and opened his mouth to respond, when the door burst open.

"You see Chiron, it's actually very hard to manage myself, and I've learnt a lot from the experience, so I really-"

Percy and Chiron walked through the door, apparently in the middle of some sort of argument.

Percy took one look at Nico and Hades before drawing his sword with a scream.

"What are you doing here Lord Hades? Nico? Anybody?" he squeaked.

"I believe that's my cue to leave." Hades said, walking towards the corner of Percy's cabin and dissolving into the shadows

"Mr. di Angelo, would you care to explain why your father decided to pay you a visit? In the Poseidon Cabin, no less?" Chiron asked, raising an eyebrow.

Explain what? That he'd had a mental breakdown in front of his almighty father? Yeah... no. Not going to happen.

"Oh you know how gods are Chiron," Nico shrugged, "Who knows what they're up to half the time?"

"Would anyone please explain what Nico and Uncle Hades were doing in my cabin?" Percy demanded in a panic, "And Nico, why are there a bunch of weird things on my floor? Are you LARPing or something?"

"Percy relax," Nico sighed, "I was just looking for a calendar. Also, what the Hades is LARPing? Never mind, don't answer that. These are my...collectibles."

"Collectibles? " Percy echoed.

"Yeah, from one of the games I used to play. I used to store them in my room in the underworld, but since we have a Hades Cabin now, Dad came over to return them to me, so that I could keep them in there instead."

"Then why were you in my cabin? You scared the Hades out of me, dude!"

"I needed a calendar, okay? End of story. Now could you please help me carry this stuff to my cabin?"

Percy , being Percy, complied, lifting up a pile of supplies. As Nico tried to follow him to the Hades cabin, he was stopped by Chiron.

"Wizards?" Chiron asked.

"Wizards." Nico confirmed.

Chiron sighed, "I see. But the wizards cannot be made common knowledge, please be more careful next time Mr. di Angelo." he warned, trotting away.

"Will do, sir."

****Half an hour later****

Nico sat at his desk, with a bundle of letters in his hand, and an incredibly annoying owl staring at him.

"Athena!" he hissed, "Go away! Shoo! Do you want to be adopted as the Athena Cabin's mascot?"

Athena apparently did want to become the Athena Cabin's mascot, and continued to wiggle her leg in Nico's direction, silently ordering him to take the letter.

"Why do you have to be as stubborn as your owner?" Nico groaned, finally giving in to the owl (after a five minute-long staring competition) and untying the letter, " Happy now? I did what you wanted me to do, so please leave. Before you make people suspicious."

Athena gave him a disdainful look before soaring across the ocean back to Ireland.

Nico turned his attention back to the letters in his hand with a sigh.

Time to write a very long letter.

A.N:

Hi!

I... actually don't have anything to say today.

Wait! I do.

Sorry if this chapter was like, super mushy, but I was in a mushy mood, so…. This happened.

I know that Nico never tried to be a regular member of the legion in canon, but I changed it a bit here. SO in this story, Nico did spend quite a lot of time at CJ as a regular legionnaire, and would sneak away whenever he could. Which didn't work very well, and raised suspicions, hence the Ambassador solution.

Don't worry, I know that it makes no sense at the moment, but I'll explain this in more detail later.

Anyway, that's all for now.

As usual, please review!
