I don't own Danny Phantom or Grossology. They are owned by their respective companies. Though Joe Gutchern is an original character.
Ty had seen many battles with the various villains, from swarms of leeches to burping deli thieves and mutated insects. But none of them had ever been as personal as this.
Lance Boil had broken into the gag lab, hacking the security system with his limited knowledge from his days in the Bureau, and he brought a hostage. Naomi, Ty's crush. She was held at gunpoint via puss gun. Her arms were tied behind her back. She wasn't gagged but remained silent as she watched these events unfold.
"While I admit, this is poor taste," Lance said cocking his gun. "After destroying my perfect world, I'm willing to stoop to a new low!"
Ty, Abby, Lab Rat had their goop cannons aimed at Lance. Their options were slim, given they hadn't been able to recharge their guns. And though the tiny man didn't know that, it was hard to use such information against him in this situation.
"Alright, Boil. Let the girl go and you don't get popped," Abby commanded in an authorities tone.
"Don't worry, ma'am, we'll get you out of this," Ty said through his mask. They all wore the new model to protect their identities, but they couldn't risk Naomi getting a good look.
"I know." Naomi was smiling, seemingly unconcerned with her predicament. Much to Lance's chagrin, she seemed to have absolute faith that she'd get out.
"Oh please," Lance said in a snide manner. He pushed the puss gun up further, the trigger pulled slightly. "The only thing that gonna happen is my revenge!" Boil wore a wicked smile as he played with the gun's position. "I have poor little Naomi right here! And if you so much as take a step—"
Lance aimed at the ground with quick reflexes, where Hermès had attempted to sneak around. The rat scurried back to Lab Rat and back on his shoulder, hiding behind the boy's head for safety.
"—or think about trying to stop me in any way, well, we all know what my puss gun can do."
Lance laughed fiendishly, savoring his victory at hand.
"Now, for my first demand, you wil—"
Lance stopped as he went silent, cutting off the tension and replacing it with confusion. He looked at himself, letting go of Naomi. He seemed creeped out as the grossologists closed in as the hostage ran off. Everyone would have jumped him if not for the following words.
"You know something," Lance said in a laid-back tone. "This guy feels just as gross on the inside as he looks on the outside. Ewww."
Everyone blinked at the now distracted and different talking Lance Boil. He was becoming less of the criminal mastermind he was and was more of a teenager, for lack of a better word.
"This could be a trick, be in your guard," Abby whispered as she and the boys took padded steps towards the tiny man.
Naomi, who noticed the new situation, spared no time as she ran towards Ty, knocking him over.
"Naomi! Are you ok?" Ty asked.
"I'm fine Ty. Really. Though could you let me go?" Naomi blushed as she realized the boy was holding onto her. Helping her up, the boy untied her restraints as Abby and Lab Rat grabbed Boil.
"Alright, let's get—wait! How do you—"
"Know that you're one of the grossologists?" Naomi giggled. She grabbed the mask, pulling it down. Ty provided no resistance as she took off his goggles. "I've known this for the past year. You didn't think I wouldn't recognize you under the goggles."
Ty's face dropped. He glanced at Lab Rat, who picked up a mask.
"I guess we should update the uniform for more private identities," the gagologist said.
"Guys! Focus!" Abby yelled with her cannon aimed at Lance. "Alright, Boil, time for jail!"
Lance waved his arms in surrender as he yelped.
"Abby! It's me, Danny! I took over this guy's body when I saw you were in trouble," Lance explained.
Abby gave a curious look as she eyed the man. In all her years foiling Boil, the tiny villain never once acted in such a manner. Still, she kept her cannon aimed as Lab Rat came over to investigate.
"You can do that?" Lab Rat asked, bringing out a scanner. After a moment, the device beeped, giving the reading of its discovery. "Wow! He can! I'm detecting another set of brainwaves inside Lance!"
A few minutes later, Lance was restrained heavily as he was strolled out of the gag lab via dolly. The Detective came by and personally escorted him out, thanking everyone for another job well done.
Danny phased out of Boil, who was confused to see himself in a police van, now wiped himself of any imaginary filth. Being inside Lance Boil was more disgusting than he thought.
"Whew! And I thought he smelled bad on the outside," Danny commented. He shivered, not wanting to think about it. He could have sworn feeling a metal stomach inside the man.
Abby ran over, hugging the ghost boy, happy to see him. So we're Ty and Naomi, who still held onto the grossologist.
"Ok, I'm glad you were here to help, but how did you know we needed help?" Abby asked.
Danny gave a slight blush as he rubbed his head. He pointed to the back of the lab, where the Fenton anti-ghost cleaners were.
"When I was leaving, I remembered I forgot about the Fenton equipment I left here. I came back to get it and saw you guys in trouble and...well."
Lab Rat laughed at the situation. He pressed a few buttons on his console, having the rest of the anti-ghost equipment brought out. After packing it up in a bag, the ghost boy saluted the grossologists before preparing the fly.
"Well, I gotta say, it's been fun, but once again—"
"Oh no you don't," Abby boldly said. She walked over to the confused Danny, who stood up straight. The other boys were just as bewildered, staring at the girl grossologist.
"Uh...am I missing something?" Danny asked, glancing around the room for answers.
Abby stopped in front of the boy. Her nerves steeled as she stared at the ghost boy. Sweat dabbed her forehead as she heard Naomi giggle, much to her embarrassment.
"Yeah, this," Abby said, lunging forward. It took all her courage for her to act.
Danny paused as he felt Abby's hands on his head, pulling him towards her. A pair of soft lips touched his cheek, warming his face with a scarlet hue as he registered what was happening.
Naomi giggled, giving Ty a similar look as the boys smiled.
The kiss was chaste and only lasted a few seconds, but the blush remained on the ghost boy till he left. Abby leaned into his ear as she whispered.
"If you want another one, then come visit and we can talk about it over at a café...or a movie."
Danny stared at the girl, a small smile he wore with his blush. He held onto her arms as Abby now blushed like a little girl.
"I guess that made everything worth it," Ty teased. He smirked with wiggling eyebrows as Abby glared. It only served to fuel his antics, or it would have if Naomi hadn't grabbed his face.
"Ty, you need to read people better." Naomi wore a smile as the boy looked confused.
"Wha—" Ty was cut off as Naomi pulled him in for a kiss on the lips.
Now it was Ty's turn to wear a red face. Part of him was excited and happy, and his nervousness went away. He soon melted as his arms drooped and his back slacked. The boy loved every second of the kiss.
And he wasn't the only one. Naomi poured her heart into the display of affection. All this time, she had been worried about how things escalated, and Lance kidnapping her was a push over the edge. She decided then and there to confess in the best possible way.
As the kiss ended, Ty couldn't stop wearing a wide, dopey smile as his body leaned left and right. He and Naomi blushed fiercely as they held hands.
Ty shook his head as something came to mind. "Does...does this mean we're steady?" He asked.
"Why don't you take me to the movies and find out," Naomi giggled.
The two smiled as they leaned in for another kiss.
"Uh, Ty," Abby interjected, pointing at the large monitor. "While I love breaking up this moment, the Director's on the screen."
Everyone turned to see the man with a stern face staring down the room. His usually squeamish demeanor was not seen as he glared. The teens stepped back, wondering how to answer this without making him madder, only to see his face soften.
"I saw the security cameras...can't say I'm all that mad, but we must follow protocol," the Director said sternly.
"B-b-but Naomi—"
"Will be fine, but she must be escorted out of the Bureau as I decide what will be done. We may not have memory trashing technology here, but they will be consequences." The man has an uncertain look. "Though I can't say much on the matter."
"It's alright," Naomi said, turning to everyone. "I'm just glad your all safe." She walked up to Danny, giving him a glance. "And for what it's worth, it's nice meeting you too, Phantom."
The two shook hands as the Detective walked into the room.
"I take it that's my que to handle things from here," the Detective said, saluting the Bureau and Danny. "You kids, take care now."
"I'll see you later, Ty," Naomi said before walking through the door.
The room was silent as Danny coughed, gaining the spotlight.
"Well...I'll take that as my cue to leave," Danny said, now finally leaving. He gave a slight wink at Abby before phasing through the roof. He glanced at the now clean Ringworm City before heading to the Specter Speeder.
"Wait till Tucker and Sam hear about this," he said to himself.
Everyone stared at the spot in the ceiling as they finished their farewells.
"You know, I'm gonna miss that guy," Ty said. "I wonder if we'll ever see him again."
"Proabably, not since we handle gross not ghosts," Lab Rat said with a sigh. "Too bad. It would've been fun."
"Actually...the mayor called a little while ago," The Director said. He had a satisfied smile. "Due to the epidemic, it would seem the government is adding ectoplasm is being allocated into a paranormal sub category for the Bureau. So, if there's a ghost..."
"Then we can catch it? And maybe ask a certain cute ghost boy for back up?" Abby asked, twiddling her fingers at the last part.
The Director nodded with a smile, making the girl pump her fist as the boys teased her.
"But I'd be careful." The man brought out some papers. "We had a request from this anti-ghost a bench called the Guys in White, requesting the arrest of Phantom. However I didn't sign it, too busy...mph...holding all my vomit!"
The grossologists laughed as their boss unwittingly helped their new friend. Naomi hugged Ty, who now blushed like mad. Abby thought back to Danny, looking to the ceiling.
"I wonder when we'll see him again," she said.
Lance Boil struggled against his restraints. He looked to his surroundings, wondering how he got here.
"I don't know how. I don't care when. But I will have my revenge on you, Danny Phantom!" Lance proclaimed.
The van drove past the city as folks cleaned up. Many repairs were being done as everyone went to work cleaning.
Ty and Abby arrived home to greet their parents, who hugged them on sight. They had been worried sick, not knowing their children saved the city. But that would be for another time.
The family decided to go inside and order something for dinner. Ty would invite Naomi later as the two would discuss their relationship.
The End
Thank you all for joining me as I wrote this. It started out as just a way for Danny and Abby to meet, but after the concept, it became more. Now, as for sequels, I'd have to add more, but if I ever get to it, Danny will meet another group first, where a romantic rival for him will appear. I want to thank everyone for reading a leaving a review.
And I want to give Special Thanks! to all the authors who helped me. Flower Princess11 and Jay The Average Fanboy, thank you both for all your help!
Reviews:
julimart: Thanks! I say that about Gutchern's redemption because he still caused damage.
danifan3000: Good point, but Gutchern has moved on. He's no longer appearing.
RonaldM40196867: I can see they dating, yes. It's mainly Lance Boil who breaks in. The guy's smarter than he looks.
guilhermefinamori: Yeah, a sequel would be a while. Mainly since I'll be focusing on my other stories and any that may pop into my brain.
wiseguy2415: Well, Abby gave her kiss, just not on the lips.
LordGriffin1000: Thanks!
