Eye of the Beholder
They made it to the fog bank and landed on the deck of the ship. Hybrid looked around on high alert. Hiccup spotted a ship with ruin sails with two big zig zag daggers pointing at the base of the mast it hung from. The ship looked dangerous and creeper than any other ships in the fog bank. Hybrid saw an object that looks to be not of this planet.
Snotlout said "So, what's the plan Hiccup are we going to stay until Dagger gets here."
Fishlegs agreed saying "I agree with Snotlout, this place is giving me and Meatlug with willies."
The ship was knocked Hybrid dashed to the side and saw eels. Hybrid shouted "We've got massive eels."
"Oh no, everyone get to your dragons before they spook them off!" Hiccup shouted.
A few eels got on board and Hybrid clawed at it with his claws. Toothless fought off the others and Hybrid ended his fight by biting and throwing it over board.
Unfortunately, all the dragons flew off except for Toothless due to the condition with his tail.
Snotlout said "Great, no one ever mentioned eels."
After a the fiasco of getting to the spooked dragons they went back to planning.
Ruffnut then stated "Dagger can't steal anything if we steal them first." Hybrid thought for a moment and couldn't see the flaws in her plan.
Hybrid follow up with "So, plan is that we steal as much treasure as we can and hide it elsewhere and wait for Dagger to show up to take him out." The twins rose their hands up and Hiccup instantly shot them down.
The team split up with Hybrid heading to the half sunken vessel, Hiccup going to the twin dagger ship (AC/Authors Comment: Yes, I know it's the Reaper but I forgot and now it will just be nameless. Okay, don't get on my case.), Hybrid went to the off-world ship and everyone else went to other ships.
Hybrid opened the rusted hatch and jumped in landing on the metallic floor and the impacted echoed across the ship. Hybrid searched the ship finding the captain quarters with a strange object and it had 'Archive Key' in Ancient Draconic. Hybrid picked it up and left to find Hiccup.
Hybrid reached Hiccup and Toothless but accidently spooked them as he showed himself.
Hiccup asked shakenly "Why, did you do that?"
"Sorry, I thought you might need help." Hybrid apologised.
Toothless said "Please don't ever do that again." Hybrid smiled awkwardly while scratching his head.
They went into the hull of the ship to find dragon bones in cages. Toothless was saddened by the sight while Hybrid growled in anger. They searched the rest of the ship and found something that looked like the Archive Key but with a more primitive style. A skeletal hand rested on it and Hybrid heard a noise above them but Hybrid couldn't tell what they were. Hiccup then took the object and after a few second an axe fell almost slashing Hiccup.
They rushed out from the lower deck filled with traps to make bounty hunters jealous. They made it the upper deck and found the others trapped and four guards with two men.
The Redhead stood forward and said "Brother, I see you've made a new friend."
Toothless growled "Dagger."
Hybrid then replied to Dagger "Well, nice to meet you Dagger."
Dagger made a rather berserk laugh then said "A formal one as well. What's ya name?"
"Name's Hybrid and I suggest you let them go because I go by a lot more than just Hybrid." Hybrid answered threateningly.
The ragged man next to Dagger moved to make a swing and Toothless attempted to warn Hybrid. The fist landed in Hybrid's palm or paw due to it have the shape of a hand and a form of a paw. Hybrid then made his swing straight into the man's armpit dislocating his arm. The man groan in pain from the strike.
Everyone was surprised by Hybrid's speed. Toothless complemented "Nice hit on Savage." And Hybrid smirked knowing that Dagger already lost. Savage went for another blow but Hybrid dodged then grabbed Savage and tossed him knocking the two guards down. The two guards and Savage got up and Dagger gestured a retreat. Dagger and his men retreated while Hiccup, Hybrid and Toothless attempted to break open the cage.
Toothless shot at the cage showing no effect and Fishlegs said "Oh, dragon-proof. Interesting."
Hybrid said as he swung his tail "Dragon-proof this!" and the lock was slashed in half.
Hiccup then shouted "Dragon calls!"
The gang made their dragon calls. Astrid and Fishlegs were well thought out, Snotlout was just yelling help and the twins had a calls that was strange to say the least. A boulder out of nowhere and smashed into the deck of the ship.
The ship tipped to an almost 90 degrees and Hiccup mounted Toothless and took off while Hybrid used his claws to anchor down. The teens fell out of the cage and were hanging onto Fishlegs who was holding onto the mast. Hybrid attempted to shapeshift but only a decent amount of red arcs covered his body to tell him he can't shapeshift.
Astrid fell and Hybrid automatically jumped in after her. The eels swam to her and Hybrid was quick to attack one bitting it and the eel retreated. Hiccup and Toothless dove for both Astrid and Hybrid. The burst out of the water and Astrid jumped from Toothless to Stormfly. The riders and Hybrid returned to Berk.
They arrived at the forge and Gobber is attempting to open the strange cylinder while Hybrid played around with the Archive Key. "Can you open it." Hiccup asked Gobber.
Gobber replied "Can I open it? I once opened a 500-year-old clam at the bottom of the ocean with my bare hook. Can I open it? Ha!" then asks Hybrid "Any luck with yours?"
Hybrid replied "Not yet, but I really want to scorch this thing."
"We learn more about the Dragon Eye's." Hiccup said.
Hybrid stated "This is actually called the Archive Key."
Hiccup said "Well, we need to learn more about the Dragon Eye and the Archive Key. Better now?"
Hybrid smirks and says "Much Better."
"Wait, how do you both know that's their called." Snotlout said annoyed.
Hybrid answered "The Archive Key says it's name on it's shell while Hiccup named the other."
Snotlout asked "Aren't we supposed to vote on these things?"
"Okay, all in favour say 'Dragon Eye'." Hiccup said.
Almost everyone including the dragons except Snotlout said 'Dragon Eye'.
Gobber then trigger a trap and a dart shot out and hit Tuffnut who was out pretty fast. Hiccup said "I think we should stop now." Gobber tried to continue but triggered another trap and getting Tuffnut again and the group surrounded his spasming body.
"I think we should get Gothi." Hiccup said.
The group went to Gothi with a spasming Thorsten and the old healer solved the spasming issue and now Tuff has itchy teeth. She then saw the keyhole and looked away in fear. Both Hiccup and Hybrid notice this.
Hiccup asks the Healer "Gothi, are you okay?"
Gothi then points to her scar that is similar in shape to the Keyhole on the Dragon Eye.
Hybrid said in sincerely "I see, anything you could tell us and if you don't want to I'll understand."
She then scribbles on the ground and Gobber translate "When I was a Teenager. I had a longing to climb Glacier Island to find pure glacial water known for its healing properties. So, I went with two Vikings. We had only been at the summit for a few hours when we were hit by a terrible snowstorm. That's when it attacked. It was vicious. Relentless. And impossible to see in the white-out. The Snow Wraith. It attacked me and I fought it and then it tossed me into a snowbank. I'll never know why it didn't finish me off that day. I left knowing only one thing... that I never wanted to see that dragon again."
Hybrid thought on this information and said "So a dragon that uses a snowstorm to attack invisibly like Toothless would during night. But if it lost you in the snowbank then it probably relied on thermal sight so it can track heat but loses anything in snow due to it being cold as everything else."
Hiccup asked "Can you lead us there?"
Astrid then said "Wait, Hybrid doesn't have a dragon he might need one."
Hybrid replied "If you alright with that but I do wish I could be at full strength again."
Hiccup said "Alright, will go to the great hall and pull out the Book of Dragons."
They got to the great hall and pulled out a book that had a dragon on the cover. Hiccup opens the book and the group sits down.
Hiccup then said "So lets start of with classes there are: Boulder Class Dragons they're tough to put it simply, the is also the Mystery Class that are stealthy and more feared, Sharp Class they are vain and prideful, Stoker Class have a high shot limit and a bit hot headed, then we have the Strike Class which are very intelligent, very fast and high jaw strength, Tidal Class they are more ocean based."
Hybrid took into account of the options and settled on an option then said "I'll go with the Strike Class."
"Okay." Hiccup then shows Hybrid the selection.
Hybrid says "I'll have to go with the Skrill." And everyone was shocked by the answer. Hybrid then said "I would go with a Night Fury but the last one's taken." (AC: I took a 'what dragon would you ride' quiz and answered it accordingly and it said Night Fury.)
Astrid said "They are incredibly dangerous."
Hybrid said with a blank expression "Darling, you haven't been around me long enough to know that this is a Tuesday for me." Hybrid then said "Who am I kidding, why don't we deal with the Snow Wrath issue then the dragon riding issue."
"Alright, let's get going gang. Hybrid you're with me." Hiccup said getting a nodded from Hybrid.
They then start flying to Glacier Island and land near the pool of water. Hybrid was on high alert while he may not be able to shapeshift he was still capable of sensing things. Everyone expect the dragons and Hybrid were shaking.
Snotlout said "What's the plan just wait for it to kill one of us then get the tooth out of one of our dead bodies."
"Not if I can take to them and persuade them." Hybrid said and right on time a storm starts to blow.
Hybrid starts to heat himself up to get the Wrath's attention and then something latched onto his left arm all the way to the shoulder. Hybrid fought against the beast and spat on it and it not only stopped but fell unfortunately his arm was torn off and it was bleeding and burning. The now detached arm burnt into nothing.
Hybrid asked "Can I take own of your teeth? Please?"
The Snow Wraith was agitated and said "You'll pay for this embarrassment."
"You bit my arm off at least some compensation that could literally regrow would be fine." Hybrid said sternly.
The Wraith then spat at Hybrid accidently spiting a tooth that must have fallen out during the fight. Hybrid showed the tooth and said "Thanks for you co-operation." The Wraith was embarrass that it failed to intimidate Hybrid.
Hiccup called out "Is everyone fine?"
Astrid replied "We're fine, but have you seen Hybrid?"
Hybrid yelled out "Got the tooth."
The storm calmed to reveal everyone location and Hybrid's situation. Everyone was surprised that he was calm even though he lost an arm.
They flew backed to Berk pretty fast and got to Gothi who attempted and failed to bandage Hybrid's open wound but the blood strangely always set the bandages on fire. Hybrid said "I just need a forge and I can deal with this pretty fast."
"Going to forge a prosthetic while bleeding." Hiccup stated and Hybrid shook his head.
Hybrid then said "I can use the fire to regenerate."
Gothi just shrugged to say 'I don't know what else to do.'
They then went the forge and met up with Stoick and Gobber who was shocked that on Hybrid's second mission he had lost an arm. Hybrid then stood before the forge and throw his hand onto the extremely hot coal and the gaps between his scales began to glow red and red arcs followed suite and travelled to the wound and it began to glow into the shape of his missing arm and when the light dead out so did the forges fire most of the heat in the forge.
Everyone who bared witness it was shocked to say the least. Hybrid test his newly regenerated arm and looks to see dumbfounded faces. Gobber goes and touches the forge to find it a bit warm but not extremely hot.
"What in Odin's beard was that." Stoick said in pure shock.
Hybrid said in an awkward tone "A trait I have partly from my father." Then switched tone and said "Well, we'll need to see what the Dragon Eye holds and I'll light the forge Gobber." And Hybrid put to claws together the scraped them in one motion start the flame. Surprising the group furthermore.
After a while of shock followed by explanation that caused more shock the Snow Wraith was finished and they put it in the Dragon Eye for nothing to happen. Hybrid was even more curious and Snotlout remarks "We almost died for that."
Hybrid then corrected Snotlout "I almost died for that and lost an arm."
Back at Hiccup's hut Hybrid, Hiccup and Toothless are trying to make the Dragon Eye and Archive Key work to no avail. Hiccup and Toothless were getting tired.
"Alright, to call in." Hiccup said.
Hybrid nodded and Toothless started to heat up the stone bed and the Dragon Eye starts to project something and catches both Hybrid and Hiccups attention.
"Hey, Toothless do that again low beam." Hiccup said and Toothless did as instructed.
The projection was much larger. Hiccup marvelled at the extended map showing farther out places and Hybrid switched the Dragon Eye for the Archive Key and it projected a picture of an island with a fortress siting in the tallest mountain with a base siting below it. (It is the unconstructed Edge basically.)
Hiccup said surprised "This changes… everything."

Unfortunately, I have overboard on stories and have to do one or two stories at a time.
The stories have picked to still work on is: Corrupted Kumandra and God of Destruction Race to the Edge.
To those who read my fanfics, I personally thank you for using your time to read the stories I put out even though it is not great. I do tend to misspell words or use bad grammar.
I can't make these as fast as I want but I want to give you (Gender Neutral Term here) something good.
Please criticise me because I'm not going to get better without something to learn.
