Well, hello there. It's been a while, hasn't it?

Being a fanfic writer with a thousand ideas give or take is exhausting, and I'm sure plenty of y'all can relate. I even have an idea for another entry to my Venkai Endgame series that's actually almost fully written out, but I just can't get myself to go back to it yet. One day, I promise. But for now, check this out!

This was inspired by something I quote-tweeted about imagining your OT3 in a situation where someone kisses someone else's girlfriend at a party, then kisses the boyfriend so he wouldn't be too mad, then blacks out and wakes up to a groupchat text with the people they kissed asking them "did u make it home safe baby? ❤". I decided to make my relatively new OT3 known by inserting them into this situation – then I thought, "What if I wrote a fic about this?!"

Like I said in my tweet, this ship came about from a convo on Discord with a mutual who ships Kailette. We and some others were talking about characters and ships color-coding with one another, and we realized that even just by colors, Kairi fits well with both Ven and Olette (pink and green with Ven, pink/purple and orange with Olette). I then asked "Does this mean Kairi is polyamorous?" We agreed yes, 'cause why not? This girl deserves to have a boyfriend and a girlfriend. Bisexual poly Kairi supremacy, and a new OT3, Venkailette!

(Also, on the subject of KH OT3's, if anyone's curious – yes, I do still have a soft spot for Sorikai, but it's not really a big ship for me anymore. That's all I'm gonna say for now)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this wonderful teen chaos, and remember to drink responsibly! Also, I'm portraying Seifer as that rich kid that would throw high school parties at his mansion for any reason he sees fit, but is surprisingly considerate with his guests. Whether or not that fits his personality (either in Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy 8), it's how it's gonna be in this fic. 'Cause I needed a proper party setting for this scenario, lol. Also, I didn't mention any adults because, well, when was the last time Kingdom Hearts mentioned these kids' parents?

Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy.

Enjoy!

"So, Seifer's come back from his 'warrior's journey'," Roxas added air quotes, "to throw a party?"

He was in the Usual Spot with Xion, Hayner, Pence, and Olette for their daily hangout after school. It was the last day of school before winter break – something he and Xion had only learned about last year – which meant they didn't have any homework to ignore till the last minute unlike summer break. However, Christmas was apparently not the only thing to look forward to during this break, as Hayner had revealed.

"Yep," he said, crossing his arms and rolling his eyes. "He'll find almost any excuse to invite the entire school to his mansion, so I'm not surprised he wants to show off whatever he did on this so-called 'journey'."

"'Almost'?" Roxas raised an eyebrow. He'd said he'd only interacted with a data version of Seifer while he was in the fake Twilight Town, but he didn't really know anything about him other than he was a cocky asshole who loved to pick fights.

"Believe it or not, Seifer can be considerate," Pence explained. "His parties are some of the best ones our school's had for a reason."

Olette nodded. "Yeah! Like, he'll only throw them on certain occasions, he invites everyone –"

"Even us," Hayner added, pretending to be disinterested in the idea.

"– and he makes sure nothing gets broken and no one gets hurt," Olette finished. "He'll even let some guests stay in his spare rooms in case they can't go home because they're too drunk or whatever."

Hayner grumbled, which made Xion giggle.

"Did that happen to you?" they asked, tilting their head curiously.

"Oh, yeah," Pence laughed, to Hayner's dismay. "Last time Seifer threw a party, Hayner decided to challenge him by seeing who could drink the most shots in a minute."

"Seifer beat him, so Hayner kept insisting on rematches," Olette added, giggling herself.

"GUYS!" Hayner shouted, his face red.

"After Seifer beat him two more times, Hayner tried to make the challenge harder by extending the time," Pence went on, ignoring his best friend's shout. "But Seifer actually turned it down by then and suggested he go pass out in one of his spare rooms."

"And Hayner got up in his face and insisted he was fine and that he could keep going..." Olette trailed off knowingly.

"Let me guess, he passed out right then?" Roxas guessed, smirking.

"Yep. Right in Seifer's lap, no less," Olette confirmed with a mischievous grin.

"I STILL DON'T BELIEVE YOU!" Hayner cried out.

"So Seifer had to carry him to a spare room, though it took a while 'cause he was staggering," said Pence gleefully. "And Hayner unconsciously wrapped his arms around his neck."

"I even got a picture!" Olette hopped out of her seat and showed them her phone, which she had been quickly scrolling through.

Sure enough, she had gotten a decent shot of what looked like Hayner sleeping peacefully in Seifer's arms as he was being carried away bridal style. Hayner covered his face and moaned in defeat. By that point, Roxas and Xion were both laughing, on the verge of falling to the ground and rolling around.

Olette couldn't help smiling at them as she sat back down. She loved that they added more friends to their group. She didn't even care that Roxas had known data versions of them before really existing in this world, a friend was a friend. Xion turned out to be a great friend too, of course. As soon as Seifer announced he was throwing a party, she was excited to bring their new friends with them.

Though she was even more excited – and a tad nervous – to invite another friend, who happened to be from a different world...

Once they had their laugh and embarrassed Hayner enough, they went back to talking about the upcoming party.

"If you guys want, you could invite friends from those other worlds you talked about," Pence offered.

"Though Seifer has a bit of a strict 'teens only' rule," Hayner added.

"Great!" said Xion excitedly, clearly thinking about bringing their and Roxas' other friend Naminé with them.

Olette decided to tune the others out and focus on her phone. She went to her contacts and scrolled through them until she found Kairi's number. Just the thought of inviting her to this party was making her heart race a bit. Trying her best to ignore this, she sent her a text:

Hey, Kai! Someone's throwing a party here in Twilight Town, and everyone in school is invited! We can also invite other friends, so how do you feel about coming?

After she hit send, Hayner chose this moment to tease, "You inviting your girlfriend, Ollie?"

"Hayner! She's NOT my girlfriend!" Olette snapped, her cheeks warming. "She's just a friend!"

"Hey, I deserve some payback after dealing with you guys teasing me," Hayner shrugged smugly.

"Guys, we probably shouldn't –" Xion tried to say before Olette's phone dinged.

She quickly checked it and saw that Kairi had responded:

Sure, that sounds fun! Is it okay if I bring Ven with me?

That question left Olette feeling a bit numb. She stared blankly at it, inwardly berating herself for being stupid. How could she have forgotten? Kairi and Ventus had started officially dating a month ago when Kairi started her Keyblade training at the Land of Departure, and they were both eager to share details of their relationship all over Kingstagram – everything from pictures to videos, to playful messages they'd send back and forth to each other. And Olette would heart every single one of them because they were adorable as hell, and she liked seeing Kairi happy. She deserved happiness after what happened with Sora, and Olette wouldn't ruin that in a million years.

Even if she still had that big, stupid crush.

"Olette?" Xion asked tentatively. "Are you okay?"

"What did she say?" asked Pence.

Olette looked up to see that everyone else was watching her carefully; even Hayner looked a bit worried.

"Oh, yeah, I'm fine," she said, laughing a bit nervously. She cleared her throat. "Really, I'm fine. She just asked if it was okay to bring Ventus."

"Oh..." said Roxas quietly. "Well, would it be so bad if she did?"

"Of course not!" said Olette quickly. "He's her boyfriend, of course she can bring him!" Even just saying that caused a pang in her heart.

Before anyone else said anything, Xion got up to sit next to her and pulled her into a hug. Olette began to relax a little as she returned it.

"You know, Ollie," Xion started, "maybe you'll feel better if you talk to Kairi about your feelings."

"What?!"

"They're right," Roxas said before Olette said anything else. "If you keep these feelings bottled up, they'll soon spill over out of your control. And no matter how she reacts, she'll still love you and want to be your friend."

"Yeah, when was the last time you even hung out with her?" Hayner pointed out. "I'm sure she misses you and wants to spend more time with you."

They all nodded in agreement. Olette looked at them, thinking it over. She really did want to spend more time with Kairi, and this party seemed like it would be the perfect opportunity. And it's not like she hated Ventus, he seemed like a sweet guy.

Maybe she should give him a chance...

"Did you even respond to her?" Pence gestured to her phone.

Her eyes widened. She didn't! She pulled herself out of Xion's hug to send her a reply:

Of course! The more, the merrier!

The night of Seifer's party arrived quicker than Olette was ready for, but she was not gonna back out. She did miss his parties, but she was also really looking forward to seeing Kairi again. Hayner had a point, it had been a while since the two of them last hung out together.

Their last hang out had been rather bittersweet, too. Kairi was still really upset about Sora being lost and not knowing what to do, so Olette had suggested she come over to Twilight Town so the two of them could do something fun to hopefully take her mind off of it. And it seemed to work. They went for a stroll through the town, did some window-shopping and a bit of real shopping, and of course, got some sea salt ice cream to eat on the clock tower. Just the two of them.

To Olette, it felt like a date. But she never said it to Kairi, especially because eating the ice cream made her somber again, though she didn't say why. Olette assumed it had something to do with Sora.

After that, she didn't see Kairi for a whole year because she had decided to go to sleep so her heart could get searched for clues about Sora. Or something like that. And when she saw her Kingstagram account get updated, she got so excited to finally see her crush back – only to see that she was sharing status updates and pictures of her and her new relationship with Ventus.

But now wasn't the time to relive any pain she'd felt. It was going to be a good night. She was going to hang out with her friends, reconnect with Kairi, maybe get a tiny bit buzzed, and just have fun.

What's the worst that could happen?

Olette arrived at Seifer's mansion at a decent time, as there were only a handful of teenagers there with some showing up at the same time as her. She decided to wait outside for Kairi (and Ventus) until they showed up. After about half an hour, she ducked inside to get herself a drink to have as she waited, not paying any attention to the music, talking, laughing, or responsible teetering on irresponsible drinking. Just as she went back outside, Hayner and Pence had arrived.

"Hey, Ollie! You're here early!" Pence noted as they walked up to her.

"Of course she is, she wanted to get here before you-know-who," Hayner teased fondly.

"I'm choosing to ignore that," said Olette shortly, downing some of her drink. "So, you don't have to wait with me, go on inside."

"Hey, guys!"

Xion was now running up to them, joined by Roxas and Naminé. All three of them were wearing the outfits they seemed to favor so much – even Naminé was still in her white dress. Of course, it didn't matter since everyone at the party was just wearing clothes they felt comfortable in, with only a few dressing a bit fancy.

"Wow, this is such a nice place!" Naminé marveled, looking at the mansion.

"Eh, the Old Mansion is more impressive," Roxas shrugged indifferently.

"Oh, come on, Rox!" Hayner begged. "You haven't even seen the inside yet!"

Roxas burst out laughing. "I thought you hated Seifer? But you love his house?"

Hayner spluttered, then grumbled to himself as he dragged him inside. The others laughed before going in after them, with Olette staying outside. She absentmindedly noticed that she'd already drank half of her drink as she started to get impatient waiting for Kairi.

Thankfully, she no longer had to wait as her crush finally arrived. And Olette was struck a bit dumb because she and Ventus were both wearing normal clothes she'd never seen them in. Of course, she was solely focused on Kairi because she was wearing a dress! And unlike the battle dresses she'd seen her in, this dress was much simpler and a deep purple color that showed a surprising amount of skin – her arms, lower legs, shoulders, and collarbone (Olette nearly choked on her drink) were all exposed.

Why is she wearing that?! she thought to herself. Why would she wear something that exposes that much soft skin?! Wait, what?

"Hey, Ollie!" Kairi greeted her cheerfully, her hand entwined with Ventus'. "It's been a while!"

She was beautiful, and Olette was a wreck. "H-Hey, Kairi."

"I've never been to a party like this, at least that I can remember," said Ventus. "But I'm excited!"

"Me too!" Kairi agreed enthusiastically. "Students at the islands didn't throw a lot of parties, but none of them were ever this big!"

Olette had never seen Kairi this happy. She was happy in her Kingstagram posts, but to see this energy in person was miles different. It was almost enough to light up the whole mansion.

"Well, uh," Olette started, trying so hard to not show how nervous she was, "there's food, drinks, and games inside. Want me to show you around?"

"Sure! It's our first time visiting this place, so we kinda need the tour," Kairi giggled.

"Plus, I didn't really get to talk to you much last time we all hung out," Ventus pointed out. He held out his free hand for good measure. "I'm Ventus. Call me Ven."

Kairi snickered behind her own free hand. "He always does that with new friends."

New friends? Olette thought to herself. Somehow it never occurred to her that she and Ventus – Ven – could be friends. It didn't hurt that he was very cute.

Whoa, how drunk was she already?

"Olette," she said instead, shaking his hand. "But, you know that." Then she went for the door before she could embarrass herself further. "Well, in we go."

Like all of Seifer's previous parties, this one was just as fun and entertaining. Like Olette said, there were plenty of snacks, and Rai had ordered a few pizzas. There was a mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, though the guests gravitated towards the alcoholic drinks the most. The games ranged from video games on the large TV to board games (that very few people were interested in) to the inevitable drinking games. Hayner even tried to challenge Seifer to yet another shot contest, but Seifer surprisingly declined.

"After you blacked out from the last one? You should probably stick with lemonade, kid," he'd teased.

Hayner was, of course, dismayed to find out that everyone remembered what happened at the last party. Seifer was full of surprises as he handed a drink to him anyway and encouraged him to have a good time regardless.

Needless to say, Roxas had been quite shocked to see just how considerate the real Seifer was, though Olette didn't see him much after that. She'd been spending the whole evening with Kairi and Ven, sitting in a corner with drinks on hand (though Ven wasn't keen on getting too drunk) and sharing stories.

"I mean, I r-r-really should have s-s-seen it c-coming!" Kairi was giggling as she sloshed her third drink. "Sora always w-wanted to talk about R-R-Riku no matter w-what we did! It should have been o-obvious that he was crushing hard on him! Is it any wonder R-Riku is the only one who c-can save Sora?! He's got it bad for him, too!"

Olette never knew Kairi was such a lightweight. Though she supposed that, even though this story should have sounded depressing, it was nice to see that she was happy about it.

"See, I would b-be upset 'bout it," she went on, as if she somehow read Olette's mind, "but honestly...honestly, I was attracted to the-the Ven part of him!"

It was a good thing that nobody was listening to them, mainly because the music was loud enough to drown them out, though perhaps it wouldn't have mattered since the things Kairi was saying sounded unbelievable anyway.

"Kai, that doesn't even make sense, the way you w-worded that," Ven pointed out, though he too was giggling off of his own light buzz.

"Neither does b-being a princess that can magically change Heartless back into p-people, yet here we are, babe!" Kairi nearly shouted, pulling him in for a sloppy kiss.

Normally, Olette would've been a little upset at this. But since she herself was quite drunk, she laughed instead.

"You guys are so hot, get a room!" she cackled. They ignored her and kept making out.

For some reason, she decided to get her phone out and snap a picture of them. Then she looked around and just snapped away to capture random moments of the party. She barely noticed that she'd also snapped a picture of Roxas getting rather...friendly with both Xion and Naminé in their own corner. When it registered in her hazy brain, she shouted, "Get it, Rox!"

She didn't see whether or not they heard her.

"H-Hey, Ollie," Kairi stuttered; Olette hadn't noticed that she and Ven had finally stopped making out. "Y-You okay? You seemed rather...sad when we arrived at the p-party."

"W-What?" Olette stammered, her heart pounding. "Why would I be sad? You're my best friend!"

"Y-Yeah!" Kairi shouted suddenly. "We are best friends, aren't we? So don't be sad! I love you!"

Those three words awakened something in Olette, something she never thought was inside of her. A special kind of courage. Again, she was thankful that no one could hear them.

"KAIRI, I LOVE YOU, TOO!" she practically screamed. "I ALWAYS HAVE!"

And she leaned forward and kissed her, right on the lips. She wasn't sure if it was from the drinks, but this kiss felt incredible, more than she could have ever imagined. Her heart was soaring, and she didn't care that she tasted like the drinks they were having.

"Whoa, Olette?!" Ven asked loudly, clearly confused.

Olette broke the kiss with Kairi and turned to him. "Don't worry, I'm not leaving you out!" And she kissed him next.

Kissing him felt nice, too. She'd never really thought much about Ven before, but he was cute. She'd hesitated to think of him that way because he looked so much like Roxas, and since she'd begun to think of Roxas like a brother, it was a bit weird. But tonight, she didn't care.

She liked kissing both Kairi and Ven. And she would be lying if she said she didn't want to kiss them again in the near future.

"Damn, Ollie!" Kairi's voice interrupted her. She didn't sound mad at all. "Why didn't you tell me?!"

Olette pulled away from Ven, and it was only now that she realized that she was starting to feel sleepy.

"You're sooo sweet, Kai, and you're so hot in that dress," she slurred, completely rambling now. "And you have a biiiiig heart," she emphasized by spreading her arms wide. "I didn't tell you 'cause Ven already makes you haaaappy. But now...I think I love you both..."

And that was the last thing she said before she blacked out.

When Olette woke up the next morning, she was in an unfamiliar bedroom and the sunlight nearly blinded her through the window. And her head was killing her. She looked around and saw an unopened water bottle and a tiny bag of painkillers on the night stand with a note that read:

Take these, then go home as soon as you feel better.

Seifer

There was also an extra scribble in crooked handwriting she recognized:

damn, ollie! didn't know u had it in u! were DEF talking about it at the usual spot! take it easy, tho, u drank more than we all expected

Hayner

He'd written that like it was a text message.

All of a sudden, it all came back to her: She'd gotten three drinks as she hung out with Kairi and Ven, they talked about stuff, the couple made out, she'd gotten pictures, then blurted out her love for Kairi and...

Oh, God...she did it. She actually confessed her feelings and kissed her! And then she kissed Ven, too?!

Her head started hurting worse, so she opened the water bottle and downed the painkillers with several chugs of water. Then she slumped back against the pillows.

"I did it..." she murmured to herself. "What will they think of me now...?"

Then her phone dinged. She picked it up and saw, with some dread, that Kairi and Ven had started a groupchat with her. Then she read the message from Kairi:

did u make it home safe baby? ❤

Her eyes widened, and she started to feel warm and fuzzy in her stomach. Kairi called her baby? And she'd even added a heart emoji... Did this mean there were no hard feelings between them? Did...did they want to date her, too?

She smiled. This was the best party Seifer ever threw.

And that was, I'm pretty sure, the first ever Venkailette fic! What did you guys think?

This was so much fun to write, and I'm giddy that a simple tweet was enough inspiration to write it! I've been wanting more reasons and inspiration to get back into writing, and this seemed to do the trick! I also feel like my writing skills are continuing to improve, which makes me even happier!

About Kairi's dress: my mutuals and I agree that Kairi's best color is purple, and we'd all love to see her in purple again in the future. As for the dress itself, I was loosely inspired by the dress Hayden Panettiere wore during the Homecoming dance in Bring It On 3, though not as risque, obviously. Look it up to see what I'm talking about, because I don't know if I can share links, lol.

A part of me thought about adding a scene where Kairi and Ven talked about Olette kissing them, but I figured that this story was meant to be from Olette's perspective. Obviously, they're both okay with it, and to answer Olette's question, yes. The three of them are gonna start dating after this.

But will I write more of them? Who knows, lmao. I would love to, of course, but I'm fine with leaving it at this for now. This was more or less a test run with this ship, so I hope it was a success!

Thank you for reading!
