When the new morning rolled around, it was quiet in the Loud House, which is becoming more common than it should be. But it wasn't for what everyone would expect; it was more of an awkward silence than anything else.
Lori told her sisters all about her and Lincoln's day in another sibling meeting yesterday, talking about her embarrassing mixup and his secret friendship with Ronnie Ann. Lincoln knew for sure that he would definitely be teased up the wazoo for liking his bully.
But surprisingly, they all took pity on him. After hearing what he had to go through until today, they all shared their comforting responses to their best brother.
"Bro, that is some commitment you had to put up with. I'm not good with all that mushy stuff, but I know hard work when I see it. You're strong, man. Stronger than I realized." Lynn said, trying her best to compliment him in her own way.
"Dude, that's messed up. I'm glad you're alright, bro." Luna said, sharing a friendly fist-bump with him.
"Geez, Lincoln. I'm not sure what to say but, I'm glad you're okay." Lana said, hugging her big brother. Lana was then approached by Lori to take care of the gunk on the ceiling, much to her dismay.
"No joking, Lincoln. I'm glad you're okay. Hopefully they can accept your friendship with Ronnie Ann. And hopefully not devolve in a "punch" of laughs." Luan joke, chuckling at herself. But Luan quickly composed herself and apologized. "Sorry, force of habit."
"Lincoln, even when living in a house full of girls, you still have a lot to learn about them. Don't worry, you'll pick up on what she wants pretty soon." Lola said, saying it in her normal, self-centred voice. Lincoln didn't know what she meant, but she seemed to know more than she admitted about the two kid's interactions.
"Lincoln, I'm so sorry you had to be on the receiving end of that impure activity. Please come to me if you ever feel the need for some cleansing." Lucy said directly to my face. It was intimidating, but impactful as well. He could tell she really cared about him, though he wasn't sure how to feel about that "cleansing" thing.
"That plan of yours, my male sibling, was a disaster from the beginning. You most likely would have suffered great consequences from the school of education if you executed this. It's a good thing you stopped when you did, otherwise it would have destabilize your entire plutonic relationship with the female. Regardless, I'm glad you haven't been given any major external injuries." Lisa said with her scientific words.
"OMG, Linky. That's horrible. You should wear this red scarf, I heard that red fabric helps against bullies." Leni said, giving him a red scarf she stitched up. Lincoln didn't even feel like correcting her, that would have to be a conversation for another time.
"Gaa Gaa Baa Be." Lily babbled, hugging her older brother. It was always impressive how she was able to understand the situations the Louds have been it, and she hasn't even learned to speak English.
After each one of them got their turn to speak, they all began to hang out. They desperately wanted to change the subject after their heartwarming and awkward complements. This continued until they were called down for dinner, which was unfortunately the food they had eaten already last week.
(The Next Morning)
Lincoln and Ronnie Ann have both arrived at school, a bit earlier than usual, but they had a reason for it: Lincoln were nervous. After yesterday, how will things go on from here? He was scared of what the future of their school life will bring them. But Ronnie Ann placed a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
"Don't worry Lincoln, we're official friends now. Let's be proud of it." Ronnie Ann said with a smile. Lincoln returned the smile, her company made him feel a lot less stressful.
They soon opened the double doors of the school together, seeing all the kids at their lockers, picking out the textbooks they need for their assigned class. Though it didn't take long before some kid pointed out that Ronnie Ann had arrived. Most of the kids reactions were of shock, with them just running away from her or just standing in place until she leaves, or fear, with some kids, some of them even being previous bullies, were looking for their lunch money to give her, their homework for her to copy, and even one kid stuffing himself into his locker and shutting it so she didn't have to do it.
Now obviously, she has never done anything like that to anyone, not even having to throw a punch. They were just exaggerating what she could do since she was labeled the tough girl.
The reason? She wasn't the only bully around.
Chandler was the most famous smooth talker in the whole school. He specialized in public mental persuasion, convincing his target to get them what he wants without having to throw a single punch, since he knew that would get him in immediate detention for sure.
He usually has an unremarkable crew that went around with him, who were more than willing to dish out some punishment whenever Chandler orders them too.
As Lincoln and Ron were walking to class, they met the real bullies of the school. "Well, look who it is. What's happening, Lincoln? You gonna share notes with me again?" Chandler said, his two companions snickering from behind him.
"Sorry, Chandler. He's not gonna be helping you today." Ronnie Ann said, standing up for Lincoln, to which he was pretty surprised by.
"Oh?" Chandler was a little perplexed for a moment there, but he soon started to smirk. "Ooh, I see. You already have him around your finger. Hah, sucks to be you, Linc." He said, chuckling to himself.
"Don't you dare insult Lincoln when I'm around, Chandler! Your days of bullying him are over." Ronnie Anne shouted, disgusted by her current reputation.
"Says the pot to the kettle."
"Not this time, jerk! I'm done being tough on people. Lincoln is my friend and I won't let you hurt him."
"Wait, Lincoln is your friend?" Chandler took that by surprise before smirking yet again. "Hah, looks like you've gotten soft, girly."
In a few seconds, Chandler was forced against the school lockers, his shirt being gripped on tightly by Ronnie Ann. He and the other students were shocked by how strong she was compared to him, almost able to hold him above the ground.
"Listen up, Bucko." Ronnie Ann snarled at the bully. "I'm only gonna say this once: Stay away from Lincoln Loud. If you so much as hurt him a little bit, I will make you wish you'd never have a nose, cause it'll be "Break Time" when I I find you."
Lincoln stood in shock and he saw all the emotion drain from Chandler's face. When he was finally let down, he struggled to compose himself. "Got it? And never call me "girly" again. Now scram!" The tough girl said with a firm voice.
Chandler got up with a whimper, and starts to run towards his classroom. The jocks hurried along with him, seeming just as scared as their leader. As soon as they turned the corner, Ronnie Ann began to notice the other classmates staring at her, shocked at what she done. Pretty soon, all the students started clapping and cheering for the girl, who finally stood up to their bully.
"Ron, that was amazing!" Lincoln said as he went up to Ronnie Ann, giving her a tight hug. "Thank you so much."
"Heh heh, no big deal, man. Somebody's got to stand up to that jerk." Ronnie Ann said, smiling as she got out of the hug.
"Looks like it's the start of a new you, huh?" Lincoln said with a toothy grin. "What are you gonna do?"
"Well, first things first..." Ronnie Ann grabbed Lincoln, pulling him into a side hug. "Gotta make up for lost time."
She held her fist up, looking like she was ready to playfully punch him. Lincoln started to tense up, always comparing her punches to his sporty sister, Lynn Jr.
"C'mon, don't leave me hanging." Ronnie Ann said, holding her fist up to Lincoln. It took a little while to know what she was asking, but he smirked softly as he met his fist with her own.
"Fist bump!" They both said, laughing at themselves
for saying the phrase in sync.
"Alright, class is starting. You ready to learn, Linc?" Ronnie Ann asked, walking towards her and Lincoln's next class, not really waiting for an answer. Lincoln took a moment to stop and look at us.
"Y'know, sometimes change needs to happen in order to make a difference. Ron's not the only one that has changed. I've changed, so has my sister, Bobby, and probably all the students here. Chandler doesn't scare us anymore, even though he may come back someday with a meaner face. I believe that whenever we do something brave, something will change for the better. Yeah, it was scary, but imagine if I didn't stand up for myself. So, we all should be proud of who we are, and what we could be."
"Lincoln, are you talking to yourself or are you crazy?" Ronnie Ann spoke up from off screen.
"Uh, nothing Ron! I'll tell you later." Lincoln replied, clearing his voice to finish up. "Gotta go! Got a date with my new friend." Lincoln said, happy to say that out-loud in public. He started to walk off screen, only to peek out the side of the screen.
"I mean date as in hangout, okay?" He said quickly, zipping back off screen, with the guitar cord sounding out to end the episode.
End.
