August 10th we came home late yesterday and as of the day before last, we have been to 21 states and saw the Canadian border that was so cool. We start school tomorrow morning and go till the last week of September when we go on fall break. The school has a new schedule this year fall break is only 2 weeks not 3 then winter break is a full month and a half. The little kids are now being home schooled with Ellen being the main teacher for them and Auntie Hellen as her assistant teacher.
This has happened as their school has changed from a charter school to a public school and the adults prefer charter or private schooling. They study at auntie Hellen's while the middle kids are at Alex's with his cousin and us older kids are here at the house with Zack's auntie next door if we need assistance. The very little ones are at a neighborhood daycare ran by Jamie's aunt. Signing off mom wants me to come try on clothes as I have had a huge growth spurt and am now 5 4 which makes half an inch taller than mom. She said I take after my dad as I am tall and skinny, he was 5 7 according to mom so I will most likely be between 5 5 and 5 7.
August 12th dear diary we along with the middle kids were on an all day field trip yesterday so I didn't write. It was so much fun, and we learned so much. We didn't get home until after 8 as the trip was 4 hours away and we were gone from 6 yesterday morning until 8 last night. We were at a school from the time of 1 room schoolhouses as we are learning about the pioneers. We spent today working on projects related to what we learned yesterday, and I worked really hard on a special history project that will be entered into our area national history day competition. My project is a very big presentation paper and slide show on Rosa Parks. Zack is also working on 1 his is on the Wright brothers, we were chosen out of 80 advanced middle schoolers in our county we are only 2 of 10 for this area so it's a big deal. We have the presentation the 3rd week of next month. In other news my French family will be becoming American citizens the 1st week of October. And, in big news Zack's auntie and my auntie Hellen have set wedding dates and places, Zack's auntie will be Married next may in Hawaii and auntie Hellen next June in Paris. Signing off till the 20th as we are going on one last vacation.
August 20th dear diary we had so much fun at the beach although I came home with 2 broken toes after I forgot where the dresser in the rental was. In my defense it was dark, and I couldn't see so it jumped out at me lol. We got into the ortho, and I am in a walking shoe until the 14th of next month they are barely broken just cracked. There must be an accident prone thing going on as while they were visiting their cousins Phil broke his thumb, and while at her grandparents Ali needed stitches in her finger. I found out later that Susie has a broken wrist she fell at their vacation house and Tommy is recovering from a mild concussion and a broken pinky he wrecked his bike. And Kimi has broken her ankle she fell down some stairs at her grandparents. Signing off I need to do my laundry.
August 31st dear diary sorry for not writing I needed to really focus on the history project I told you about the other day I had the due date wrong its due the 5th. I am nearly done although mom is helping me edit my paper as that is an area I struggle in as, I have a written expression disorder and a mild visual processing disorder, so this has been a tough project. What all that means is I don't see things in certain ways and if I am writing I know what I want to say but can't express it on paper. Signing off till the 6th as mom wants me prepared and ready for this competition.
September 6th dear diary I won 1st place in my age group and Zack came in 2nd place. We are very proud as it was a tough group we were facing, and we are now going to state in November. If we win there we got to nationals. The gang got together to celebrate all the accomplishments from the last 6 weeks. we have several things we are celebrating this time the engagements several wins in both academic and sports related activities and the big one MOM AND DAD HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO ADOPT TWIN GIRLS ROSE AND VIOLET AGE 3 ALMOST 4.
The older twins join our family in just 4 days so on my 13th birthday. mom has asked me to decorate 2 rooms near Clara's one lilac and yellow with a music theme and one pale green and lavender with a sports theme. She and I are also decorating 2 big girl rooms for Georgia and Gwen,. The new rooms for them are Disney princess rooms Snow white for Gwen and Tiana for Georgia. We are all so excited about this news they are actually Dad's best friend's daughters 19 year old daughter's kids. So, his friends will still be grandparents to the girls they will have 4 sets my grandma dads grandma their mom's parents and their dad's mom and grandma. My sisters and I have 3 sets my French grandma our grandma and dads grandma. Yes, the French side of my family treats the other girls like family. Signing off I am overwhelmed with excitement and have a headache I will write the 10th as it will be a hectic few days.
September 10th dear diary Rose and Violet arrived here this morning about 10 and at 11:45 I became a teenager. We celebrated tonight with a huge dance for Susie, and I were we became young woman. This is an important thing for both our families. It's the biggest party we will have until we become adults as this is like most peoples sweet 16. We have been planning the party for weeks and it's been so much fun. The party was held at the same barn where we had my French great grandma's birthday. we had over 200 guests and it was just a lot fun and we both received several good presents my big item is a 500$ gift card to the fabric warehouse and a new quilting machine.
I also received clothes books makeup hair stuff and Zack bought me an Eeyore charm bracelet. For dinner Lil's dad's restaurant, he opened when we were 9 catered a huge seafood feast. The cake was made by Alex's cousin who now runs the bakery. It was white chocolate peanut butter my favorite combo and Strawberry lemonade which is Susie's favorite combo. Each tier was one flavor or the other. Signing off I need to rest tomorrow mm is taking Susie and I to the fabric warehouse she also got a gift card as she's learning fashion design while I am learning quilting and hand sewing
September 11th dear diary today marks 2 years since the September 11th attacks, I can't believe it's been 2 years ago already. Mom said no one will ever forget what they were doing when they heard about the attack. She said it is like when my grandma was a young lady and president Kennedy was shot. We all had so much fun at the warehouse it was huge I found so many new fabrics I can use to make quilts purses aprons and more. We then had lunch at a Japanese place near the store before we headed home.
We arrived home to chaos as Rose and Violet who are both on the spectrum were having anxiety attacks and meltdowns, I took Rose and mom grabbed Violet and we got them calmed down before settling them in the sensory room for a bit. After everyone had calmed down, we all went shopping for more fall clothes I have grown another half inch, so mom and I grabbed me several extra pairs if pants and a couple skirts just to be safe mom said I am growing like a weed.
Rose Violet Clara Gwen and Georgia all needed all new stuff as they are all getting taller, and the little twins are almost 1 so they have outgrown several pieces. In huge news tonight at 11 months old they both started crawling. This is a major milestone for them we are so proud as they have come so far. They both have said mama a few times and last night they said dada for the first time. They are about 3 months behind babies their age due to being born early. Signing off mom wants me to make dinner so she can catch up on laundry.
September 20th dear diary sorry for not writing for 9 days we were busy dealing with an issue with dad's niece Hope. I am not really allowed to discuss it but I can and will say some one did something really bad to her. And tried to hurt her sisters Faith Grace and Joy are ok but very shaken up. They are now living with dads sister Virginia who can't have babies and their mom has lost custody of them.
In other news today Spice had 8 puppies they are wiggly and cute when they are 8 weeks old, they will go to new homes. Add to this that Georgia and Gwen have started trying to stand up on their own and it's been an emotional few days. Mom needs me to come watch the littles so she can take Elsie and Emily to the dentist. I will tty tomorrow as after they get back, I have bible study and choir practice.
September 21st dear diary we spent today at eye appointments, and I had my physical a bit late I found out I have scoliosis a curvature of the spine which at 24 degrees needs braced. This isn't a big deal it runs in moms family and almost all the woman have needed braces and several have had back surgery including mom. We did find out that Rose Violet and Clara all need glasses while Emily Elsie and I just got new prescriptions and frames.
We then had lunch before Rose Violet Clara, and I had our dentist appointments. Other then a small cavity I am doing good but I will need my last 4 baby teeth pulled and have to see an orthodontist as the dentist thinks I may need braces. All the other girls have pretty good teeth although both Violet and Rose have some issues from some things that happened before they moved in with us. I am signing off till the first mom needs some testing done for a lump she found in her breast while teaching me how to check mine for lumps.
October 1st mom needs surgery for something called a biopsy. She has a lump in her breast as I mentioned the other day that is more than likely cancer. As my great grandma and grandma both had it the doctor told her its an 80% chance that's what this lump is. She will have it done later today and we will know in about a week what's going on as we are worried, I won't write until then.
October 8th we found out yesterday that mom Susie's mom Zack's Auntie and my auntie Hellen all have breast cancer. As the type of cancer mom has is something genetic Ellen had a bunch of testing done this morning. The moms all have surgery tomorrow and start chemo the following week. We had to explain this to the younger kids who are all worried about the moms we explained it this way. A bad cell in their bodies made them sick and to repair the sickness they need surgery followed by special medicine, but they won't get what the moms have.
We will support them through all this as that's what families do and we will pray that everyone gets through this. Emily Susie Kate Ali and I have started making lots of hats and head scarfs for when they lose their hair. As a group we have decided to cut, or shave are hair when the moms lose their hair. Signing off dad needs me to help clean and re arrange the house.
October 20th the last 12 days have been nuts the moms all came home and have had 2 chemo treatments none of them feel good so we are all taking turns staying with them and Ellen who found out the 10th that she carries the gene mom has had surgery the 14th to remove her breasts and something else I can't remember. With dad Madeline and I being the primary caregivers at home I wont write very often as dad needs my help most of the time.
October 31st dear diary like I said last time I can't write every day but will write when I can its been Crazy as Rose Violet Georgia and Gwen all had strep and had to go stay at Sam's so mom wouldn't get sick instead of trick or treating we just went and bought several kinds of candy and had a mini party will write in a couple days.
