If Warrior Cats Had Twitter Chapter 8: Clogged Inboxes, Twitter Trends and Mememonic Mutation.
Author's note: I Do not own Warrior Cats, Photoshop, the song "Space Oddity", Twitter or the Twitter Meme. I only own Sleepstar. This chapter is not as funny as the other chapters. This one is a bit autobiographical as some of the events is what happened to me earlier today.
A flat faced black cat sat beside a computer. Switching on the computer, she looked at the vast amount of tweets. Scrolling to the most recent, she meowed "I haven't been on Twitter in eighteen months,and-" At that moment Firestar's recent tweet popped up.
TheFireyLeader: Me, watching historic event on television.
Sleepstar growled. Firestar has just tweeted a picture of himself watching a launch on television.
TheSleepyLeader: TheFireyLeader, don't you realise that someone could Photoshop over the television and post it on Twitter?
Firestar looked at his phone, then turned his attention back to the television screen. The rocket had gotten higher since he took the picture of himself watching the launch. The ThunderClan leader decided to make himself a hot drink, not knowing that by the time he makes it, the craft will be in orbit.
Meanwhile, Berrynose was browsing through his Twitter feed when he spotted Firestar's photo. Saving the photo, he went to Photoshop, opened it and began his prank. Little did he know that Leafpool had just tweeted "If the radio played Space Oddity at some point during the day, that would be great"
At the same time, Sleepstar was still going through her Twitter when another tweet popped up. It read "Darkstripe Smells following #TeamDarkstripe" A few seconds later, Sleepstar began to cough, before throwing up a hairball. Getting back to her computer the flat faced she-cat saw what is, or was, Firestar's Launch Photo. Or rather, is Firestar's Launch Photo if the television screen wasn't edited. Instead of a rocket taking off, the screen in the photo shows a thrush. Very soon, various edits of the photo soon flooded Twitter, each one, crazier than the last. The prize, however, went to "Firestarception", a photo of Firestar watching himself watching himself.
On the other side of the moor, Crowfeather was writing down the Twitter Trends. "Let's see: The hashtag "He Can't Fight Out Of A Paper Bag is quite popular, while the hashtag Team Darkstripe is gaining in popularity." Checking on his Twitter, the first tweet was from Leafpool's, and that she was right when the radio station began playing space themed songs. The second was from Jayfeather, complaining about clogged Inboxes. Switching off the computer, Crowfeather went for a lie down.
Author's Notes: The amount of time stated by Sleepstar is based on the last time I updated the story. Let's just say family tragedies being the main reason for the long update. Firestar's photo is based on one taken earlier today which then spawned a meme of its own. The space themed music being played on the radio is what happened with me earlier today. I did throw up a bit earlier today while getting some water. There really was a live rocket launch on television earlier today, but the build-up was on Breakfast Television. The "Darkstripe Smells following Team Darkstripe is part of a later brick joke. Leafpool's line is based on a line I said earlier today, that the radio station I listen to will play "Space Oddity" at some point, as there was something of a space theme going on where I live.
