Mystery of the Fae

Mystery of the fae

When she opened her eyes, they were fogged from lack of use. She could not move, her muscled despite being taken care of by magic had forgotten how to move as they once did. The effort that she had to put into moving her head up was exhausting. She tried to speak as she had felt the presence of another person nearby, but all that came out was a barely audible croak from her hoars and unused voice box. The effort going that she had put into her just awoken movements had drained her of what little energy she had, her magic from her core was still being used to heal what injuries she had, it was just not required and would have been detrimental for it to keep her in the magical coma that she had been in to preserve her after the attack.

With her energy now spent she fell back asleep not realizing that the person who was in the room, the nurse who had been there to check on her had run out of the room to notify the lord and lady potter.

Lily Evans had been declared dead publically by James potter. Having grown used to the fame generated by his son and heaving never allowing his son near the room that lily had been kept it was an easy task to say that she had finally passed away in her coma. The hard part for him though was trying to replace her as the lady potter. There had been many willing ladies, the obstruction was the family charter and magic.

He finally thought he had found an in when he found a clause that said that the lady of the house can be discarded if she had cheated on her husband with another man. This clause also had a reciprocal it also had a forfeit as it was the divorce clause and stated that if a divorce was seen as unlawful in the eyes of the charter a large sum would be paid forth to the affected party.

James however was sure that Lily had cheated as he had been on contraception potions when that girl had been born. So there had to have been something going on. He was sure of it. He was just glad that the girl was gone as she had always creeped him out the way her eyes had always seemed to see straight through him.

Lily was finally up and moving she however was not a happy person as she had been confronted by her now ex-husband and his new wife. Being told that while you were recovering you had been declared dead and divorced was enough to make almost anyone angry when that also includes an ultimatum to leave and never come back along with a demand that bars her from seeing her son ever again. Lily was beyond livid with James. She had been willing to die for her children and she was repaid like this?

So when she had her trunk packed and shrunk she made her way quickly to Hogwarts as whilst she was not as rabid a supporter of the old man, there was one thing she knew about him and that was that he had eyes on almost everything. If anyone knew where her daughter was it would be him and the goblins.

She was met on the path leading up to the castle doors by her old teacher Minerva McGonagall.

"Lily!" the woman shouted as she came out towards her, a smile across her face. "Professor" came the dull and saddened reply, the days had been long and draining, with it being one thing after another she had not had much time to rest and only her goal of reuniting with her daughter had been keeping her going at all. So when her former head of house greeted her with such joy it raised her low spirits.

"Minerva," she said quietly as the woman enveloped her in a tight hug. A warm and comforting feeling that she could not help but lean into as it was something she had needed after what James had done.

"Not that it is not good to see you, but can I ask why you are here?" asked her old teacher whilst leading her into the old castle by the arm, getting a small frail smile from her. "I need to talk to the headmaster, I need to know what he knows about my daughter"

This got a nod from the teacher and they both walked into the castle to see what the old teacher would say.

Rage. That was all that she could feel after her meeting with the old man. He had admitted to her face that he had hidden her away 'for her own safety. He even refused to say where only that she was being raised away from the influence of the magical communities.

Luckily for lily, she had had enough experience with the old headmaster to be able to read between the lines in what he was saying. She was not one of the smartest in her year for no reason, she had also been considered for Slytherin so she was not averse to reading between the line. So she was able to read what the headmaster actually meant.

Lily had been told about the prophecy as she had refused to go along with the headmaster's plans if she did not have a good enough reason. So when he started to explain that he had taken morgan and placed her in a safe place for her own welfare. It was for her own good that she grew up away from the magical society and the fame that her brother would have as it would be a bad influence on her growth.

She instantly saw it for what it was. The headmaster wanted to ensure his hold over James and the potters. At the same time, he was grooming harry to be his heir and student as the next light lord. She was not going to allow the old man to use her children as pieces in his games.

Leaving the castle she went to the bank as the goblins had magics that could track bloodlines. This would allow her to know if her daughter was still alive and well. She could then try and find her.

She would then have to find a job.

"What can Gringotts do for you witch" growled the goblin his eyebrow raised at lily. She handed over a bit of parchment with her request and watched as the goblin read the note with interest. It only took a minute before the goblin beckoned her to follow.

Once she was taken into a private office she sat in a chair, with the goblin sitting across from her.

"Tell me miss Evans" rumbled the goblin "what is the reason for your visit?" Lily smiled at the question.

" well, I am currently looking for my daughter. That and I am also looking to rebuild my life after Mr potter decided to tear it apart" she growled. Her anger finally overflowed.

The goblin nodded "well ms Evans I have a possible job opening for you that will give you the freedom and pay to search for your daughter." this caused a look of hope to enter her eyes.

"Ms. Evans, have you ever heard of the Chaldea security organization?"

It was marvelous. She arrived on a private plane that had been configured for its specific purpose of flying in icy terrain. Her large jackets which she had been provided was specifically designed to withstand the below-freezing temperatures that were standard where she was headed. A place that when she had been told was her destination she had laughed not believing that it was true.

It had taken a full briefing from the young red-haired woman who just so happened to be the director of the organization about the place to get her to believe it. A facility built out in the ice fields of Antarctica to be a research and staging area for a security organization against magical threats to the nations within the united nations. A group of people drawn from the members of the nations to help contain disasters and aid the UN in situations that require means beyond the normal means.

It was due to this that they were considered a neutral entity as well as provided funding that was abnormally large compared to their size. The fact that their research and development divisions had been producing new technologies and medicines that could revolutionize the world also helped but they were at the moment restricted to limited usage so as not to by countries for the wrong reasons.

The director, miss Ritsuka Fujimaru had told her that there were many secrets that could only be revealed on site. This had frustrated her but the assurance that they had the resources to find her morgan had alleviated her worries and let her sign-on.

So here she was getting off the plane, what little she owned in military-grade rucksacks and looking out at the pure white construction that if she had not already known it was there, would have blended into the background, of the snowcapped hills that were the valley they were within.

Walking towards the Airlock that led to the interior, she felt what she could only describe as wards wash over her. This confused her as this was obviously a non-magical site, yet she could feel the magic. She looked at the door and next to it was an electronic access pad sitting innocently lit.

This confused her as everything she knew said that it was impossible for magic and technology to work together. This just brought out another sigh. More questions for the director she guessed.

Closing the airlock door she turned and was met by a man with long black hair and a long trench coat. "Miss Evans?" he asked as he lit a cigar and took a draw. She raised an eyebrow at him as he seemed to remind her of a no-nonsense professor type.

"Correct mister?" she asked trailing off the end of the question to imply her question and curiosity. "Velvet, Waver Velvet I am here to guide you to the director." with that he turned and started walking, his cigar held in his hand carefully softly smoldering and occasionally taking a draw. Following behind lily saw that they were in the main control building, the staff was in uniforms of white with colored markings denoting their department. She occasionally saw someone off in the distance dressed differently but they were fleeting glances and only at the corner of her eyes.

Before she knew it she was standing before the door of the directors' office. As with all the doors within the building she had seen except for the ones at the airlock it was a smooth and modern one, a panel beside it having what she assumed some sort of bell as her guide pressed a button then waited only for moments later the door to slide open.

Waving her inside her guide left her, there she was met by the same young woman that had recruited her. Ritsuka Fujimaru.

"Lily Evans, Recruited at 11 to the magical enclaves, graduated seven years later, married to one James Potter, hired as an unspeakable, which alone speakers for your ability. Two children, a boy, and a girl. You were attacked for reasons unknown by a terrorist and comatose until very recently and were declared deceased by your former husband. Now you are barred from seeing your son who was claimed by said husband as his heir and you are searching for your daughter who was hidden for and I quote ' the greater good' is this correct?"

The director read off from a file that she was reading while sitting at her desk before looking up into Lily's emerald eyes seeking her response. What she received was a small nod of acceptance but fierce eyes burning with a goal and determination.

"And if you found your daughter what will happen" asked Ritsuka curiously. It took no time at all for lily to answer "I want my daughter to be happy I want to be in her life, if I can" was her answer although the last bit was said almost inaudibly as she knew that it had been a long time since she had seen her child, it may be too late for her to have any relationship with her daughter.

Looking at the Director she saw the woman nod with a small smile. "Good answers. It shows that you are aware of the situation. Now it is time to give you the full explanation of Chaldea and the miracle known as the FATE system"
