In the inn, both Astrid and Fishlegs were still trying to figure out everything that happened to them yesterday.
"No matter how many times I go through it for you, Astrid, it's the same thing," said Fishlegs as he kept going for the logbook. "It's my handwriting. There is mention of Sky Islands… Marine Base G-8 and this gold. It really does look like we were members of a pirate crew."
"But why would we join a pirate crew?" Astrid asked. "I still say that we should try to make our way back to Leafside Village, and from there, we can truly figure out what's going on."
"I hate to point out the obvious, but without a decent ship, were not going anywhere," said Fishlegs. "Also, we're in the middle of the Grand Line, and according to this map, it's impossible to sail directly from this sea to the East Blue."
Astrid just and looked at her picture of her mother and sister.
Back on the Going Tiger, Hiccup had regained his memories, and Snotlout wasn't too happy about it.
"You mean to say that you're the captain?" Snotlout yelled.
"Yeah, I am," said Hiccup.
"Well, I don't buy it!" said Snotlout folding his arms. "No matter what anyone says, I know that I'm the great Captain Snotlout; I have an army of 8000 pirates who will obey my every command!"
"Again, you should try making your lies a bit more believable," said Hiccup folding his arms. "You're the helmsman of the Dragon Rider Pirates."
'Crap, the tables have turned against me,' Snotlout cursed.
Chopper looked at Hiccup curiously. 'This guy's a monster, just like me and yet he's the captain?'
"You doing okay, Chopper?" Hiccup asked, looking at them.
"Keep away!" Chopper panicked and hid behind the mast.
"Chopper, we're not going to hurt you," said Hiccup gently. "We're all friends here, and we count on you to attend our wounds."
"So I am the ship's doctor?" said Chopper.
Hiccup smiled. "Well, I can't see you taking any different position on the ship."
"Nice to see that he hasn't changed," Ragnar smiled.
"I don't think he'll ever change," said Heather.
Snotlout just looked at them all. 'Even if I am a pirate, I'm nothing compared to these freaks of nature. I would never survive sailing with the lights of them. How did I get myself into this mess?'
"If anything, this proves your theory," said Hiccup looking at Heather.
"Indeed, no one miraculously lost their memories overnight; they were stolen," Heather agreed. "It would seem the obvious culprit is…"
"The only person we remember, that boy," Ragnar finished.
"What would that freaky kid want with our memories anyway?" Snotlout asked.
"Beats me."
"Either way, our escort of action is to find the others," said Hiccup.
"You're right, but we should wait until morning," Heather agreed. "We should get some rest, and we can begin our search when the sun comes up. I don't think that boy will be back tonight; we gave him a lot of trouble. He'll think twice before coming here again."
"Then it agreed, we'll rest up and stop searching the morning."
"You can't seriously be thinking of trying to track down that swordsman and the twins," said Snotlout.
"And why not?" Hiccup asked.
"Oh, come on!" said Snotlout rolling his eyes. "The guy is known as the Pirate Hunter for a reason; he had's pirate, and those twins are bounty hunters. Why should we go after them?"
"Because they are our friends," said Hiccup simply.
"Just because you said it doesn't mean it's true!" Snotlout snapped. "That drake certainly did act like he was our friend."
"He had no idea who we are; I have no idea who we are," Ragnar pointed out.
"We're the Dragon Rider Pirates, and we don't leave a man behind," said Hiccup bluntly.
"Then the simplest solution is getting Toothless' memories back," said Heather.
"Looks like the best way to do that is to find the brat's horn," said Hiccup. "Either way, it sounds like tomorrow's gonna be busy days. We best get some sleep."
No one would disagree with him on that, so everyone began making their way to their beds.
Heather stayed up and looked out towards the island. 'The key to unravelling this mystery is somewhere on that island.'
The boy had made it to shore and was making his way through the forest.
'It would seem as if I underestimated you, Hiccup D Haddock,' he said. 'You are a formidable enemy. Still, you won't stop me from making my wish come true, but in order to do so, I'll need an ally.'
He then stopped when he came across Toothless and the twins who had set up camp.
"An ally like a certain skilled swordsman," he said, chuckling.
Toothless sense him and quickly turned around, and the boy quickly hit behind a tree.
"Something wrong?" Ruffnut asked.
"I thought I heard something," said Toothless.
The boy relaxed a little. 'That's right, he's different than he was yesterday. This man is Pirate Hunter Toothless; if I try to approach him, things could go back quickly. Okay then, I'll cut my losses for tonight. There will be other chances soon, anyway.'
His horn and started to glow. "Oh yes, and when that time comes, your work will truly begin."
On the Going Tiger, Hiccup had fallen fast asleep, but Ragnar was still up.
'There is only one reason I can think of that I would join a pirate crew, and that's finding the All Blue,' said Ragnar. 'I've dreamt about finding that sea, but at the same time, that old man saved my life. There's no way I would let him behind what happened to me?'
Ragnar wasn't the only one still wake Snotlout was tossing and turning; he was utterly terrified over the day's events.
'Pepper… Carrot… Onion,' he said. 'I wonder what happened to the Snotlout Pirates. I've always dreamt of being a pirate, but did I actually become a real one? Leaving everyone behind to do so?'
Chopper, like the others, hasn't fallen asleep either. He was still confused about the circumstances, especially Hiccup's friendliness to him.
'Why am I here?' he said, confused. 'Why am I here with these humans? The only ones I ever trusted were Doctor Olaf and Doctor Gothi. Even among my fellow reindeer, I had no friends. I was always, and now I have friends… nine of them? How am I supposed to believe that I'm out here with them as a doctor of a pirate ship? But what if it's true?'
Eventually, all then fell asleep, but Heather remained up in order to do some research.
The next morning everyone woke wide awake and early, and to be honest, Hiccup was surprised to find that Ragnar and Chopper were waiting outside for him and Heather.
"So you guys decided to come after all?" said Hiccup.
Ragnar shrugged. "I get the feeling you going to need the extra help."
"And if anyone gets injured, then surely they will need the assistance of a doctor, right?" said Chopper.
Snotlout, on the other hand, was reluctant to leave the ship. "Which means I should stay behind and guard the ship."
"No, you're coming with us as well, Snotlout," said Hiccup bluntly.
"You mean you want to leave this ship completely unguarded?" Snotlout smirked. "And you're supposed to be the captain."
Hiccup smiled at him. "Fine, stay here alone on the ship where that mysterious boy can still the rest of your memories."
Snotlout face fell. "You know what, I can't let you guys do this all by yourselves. I need you going to need some extra muscle, right?"
"So, any plans on how to get to this village you spotted yesterday?" Ragnar asked.
"The only way to get there is to make a raft," said Hiccup.
"But that could take hours," said Snotlout.
"Not really. I started on it yesterday," Hiccup smiled.
Sure enough, resting on the beach was a raft and a very well-made one at that.
"You mean you made a raft long before we make plans to go ashore?" said Ragnar looking mildly impressed.
Hiccup shrugged. "I figured we needed a getaway to the village somehow, and I knew there was no way I could carry all of you. How would you say we get going?"
They all got onto the raft and started happening towards the shore.
Meanwhile, in the village, Astrid and Fishlegs made their way to the desk in order to pay for the room.
"Thanks for the room; what do we owe you?" Astrid asked.
"Sorry, who are you?" the manager asked.
"What? We're guests of the inn?" said Astrid blankly. "We stayed here last night."
The manager looked at the receptionist. "Do you recognise them?"
"No, I've never seen them before."
A member of the staff then saw the large sack that Fishlegs was carrying. "Hey, they might be thieves!"
"What? Thieves?!" said the manager getting to his feet.
"Now hold on a second, we're customers," said Fishlegs. "We met all three of you yesterday. Do you seriously not remember us, and then surely you do, Mr Manager?"
"Manager?" said the manager, blankly. "You mean me?"
Astrid and Fishlegs were completely complexed.
"He is the manager of this inn, right?" Astrid asked, looking at the other members of staff.
"I don't know," they both said.
About five minutes later, both Astrid and Fishlegs left the inn even more confused than before.
"At least we didn't have to pay for our room?" said Fishlegs.
"Yeah, but what the world is going on here?" Astrid asked. "You mean it's just like what happened to us yesterday?"
"That's the case this entire town must be afflicted, explains the mad rush for the newspaper yesterday," said Fishlegs.
Unbeknownst to the two of them, Hiccup and the others were in town, asking the villages where they, along with Toothless and the twins were. Unfortunately, they were not having much success, as no one seemed to know what they were doing yesterday.
"Yesterday?" said a villager.
"That's right, they might have come through here," said Snotlout. "There was a drake with a pair of twins and a beautiful blonde-haired girl with a husky boy in a strange boat. So do you see any of them?"
"Yesterday? Now, what did I do yesterday?"
"Not you too!" Snotlout groaned as the villager walked off, pondering. "What's wrong with the people on this crazy island? Not a single one of them remembers what they were doing yesterday?"
"We're not really ones to talk; we're just like them," Chopper pointed out.
"It might be more than just coincidence," said Heather.
"So what's the plan? What do we do?" Ragnar asked. "It will be kinda tough finding in this situation?"
"Then we go back to the ship," said Snotlout. "No good thing is going to come to us wandering around on this crazy island."
It was that point Astrid and Fishlegs drove around the corner on the waver.
"Actually, I think it's easier than you think," Hiccup smiled.
"Oh, crap!" said Astrid and looked at Fishlegs. "Drive!"
"Oh no, you don't," said Hiccup as he transformed into his hybrid form.
He then shot off straight after Astrid and Fishlegs and, within seconds, caught up to them. He then reached for the brakes and stopped them right in their tracks.
"Going somewhere?" Hiccup smiled.
Astrid groaned. "What a day?"
Hiccup took the two of them back into this Plaza, though Astrid was rather reluctant, practically fighting the whole way there.
"Will you calm down? We're not going to hurt you," said Hiccup.
"Like we can trust the word of a pirate!" Astrid snapped. "All You care about is the treasure we stole from you."
"Astrid, maybe you should calm down a little," Fishlegs advised.
Astrid turned on him. "Fishlegs, you know exactly how important this gold is to us. We can't just hand it back to some two-bit pirate."
"He is the only one with a working ship," Fishlegs pointed out.
Astrid groaned. "Fine, we'll make a deal."
"What kind of deal?" Hiccup asked curiously.
"I promise to give you 10% of this gold if you promise to take us back to Leafside Village," Astrid offered.
"No way."
"Okay, then 20%."
"Nope."
"Fine, 30%."
"Can't do it."
"It will kill me but 50%!"
"Sorry."
"Just how much of this treasure you try to swindle us out of?" Astrid demanded.
Hiccup folded his arms. "Point one, you are actually bargaining with my treasure, and second there's no way you would give it up to anyone."
Astrid stared at him. "Hey, how did you know I was going to double-cross you?"
She then quickly covered her mouth, realising her mistake.
Hiccup just chuckled. "Because we're friends, how else?"
"Why would I ever be friends with the likes of you?" Astrid demanded.
"Well, it could be the fact that I did take down Arlong and freed your village from his control," said Hiccup casually.
Astrid and Fishlegs stared at him.
"Wait, you know about Arlong?" Fishlegs stared.
"I also know that he's put the two of you in indentured servitude and that the only way for you two to be free along with your village is to give him 100 million Gil."
Astrid just stared at him but then quickly shook her head. "I do know what kind again you're playing, but I don't want any part of it!"
"Astrid, surely both you and Fishlegs know that something is wrong with this island ever since you set foot on it," said Heather. "Am I wrong?"
"There was a boy holding a strange horn," said Fishlegs thinking back.
"Yeah, we met the boy last night and when I punched his horn, some smoking out of it," said Hiccup. "Then went into my body, and I started to remember everything."
"That's right, Hiccup has all of his memories back," Heather nodded.
"That's ridiculous. Are you sure you were dreaming?" Astrid questioned.
"No, it's true," said Chopper. "I saw the whole thing happen with my own two eyes."
"I also seem to remember seeing that little brat the night before last as well," Ragnar added.
"What I want to know is why he came back?" Snotlout asked.
"It's just a theory, but maybe he was unable to steal all your memories in one shot," said Heather. "Even with just what I know, you all seem to have experienced numerous incredible adventures during your journey together."
"It was too much to take in all at once, so he starved himself and returned yesterday?" said Chopper.
"The theory seems logical enough."
"It could be that these villages remember nothing because, unlike us, they actually live here," said Hiccup. "I mean, if they woke up the next day to them, it would just be like a normal day."
"So then that little boy…" said Fishlegs thinking back.
"Then I say it's high time that we get all your memories back," said Hiccup. "Once that happens, Toothless and the twins will rejoin our crew."
"I get the feeling it's not going to be as simple as that," said Ragnar.
Hiccup shrugged. "It never is, but I don't see any other way to get your memories back."
"We just forget about Toothless?" Snotlout asked, folding his arms. "Even if we get our memories back, it's kinda unsettling to be in a pirate crew on a pirate ship with a Pirate Hunter, you know."
"We've been over this; we don't leave a man behind," said Hiccup. "Besides, we can't go a pirate captain is nothing without the trust of his crew, and some of you don't trust me."
"It still bothers me that you keep on saying that I'm part of your crew," Astrid snapped. "I mean, how can I be a pirate, much less friends with pirates?"
Hiccup sighed. "Look, I know you don't trust me and given your experience, I can't say I blame you. However, deep down inside, I know you're troubled with everything going on this island, and you wish to help these villages."
Astrid just stared at him, speechless and deep down inside, she knew that he was right.
Hiccup then turned to Heather. "Heather, I don't suppose you have any idea where that boy went?"
"Well, there was one place that I would like to check out," she said.
"Then let's go," said Hiccup as he walked off.
Fishlegs looked at Astrid. "Are we going with them?"
Astrid groaned an annoyance. "Grab the gold and come on."
Fishlegs did what he was told, and soon everyone began to follow Hiccup.
"I've got a bad feeling about this," Snotlout muttered and reluctantly followed.
Chopper looked at Hiccup with admiration. 'Even with anything happening, they all follow Hiccup. I wonder if it's true that I have friends now?'
"Chopper, let's go!" Hiccup yelled.
"Aye, aye!" said Chopper cheerfully began to follow them.
Toothless and the twins were at the waterfall practising their swordplay, but Toothless still began to wonder where he got those new swords.
He then noticed the large fish swimming in the river below and, without warning, dived down. Seconds later, he came out of the water with a giant fish and immediately, he and the twins began cooking it.
They were eating when they saw the boy with a horn appearing out of the bushes.
"If you're hungry, help yourself," said Toothless.
"Well, it is true that I am rather hungry, but this isn't the kind of food that I eat," said the boy.
"Really?" said Tuffnut.
"Your loss, this fish is delicious," said Ruffnut.
"Tell me, why haven't you asked me who I am yet?" the boy asked curiously. "Ah, that's right, the people on this island don't remember anything, not even their own names, huh? No point in asking."
"Yeah, we came across a few hunters; at least we think they were hunters," said Ruffnut.
"They had no idea who they were," said Tuffnut.
The boy then turned towards Toothless. "You're on a quest to become the strongest swordsman in the world, right? If that's the case, then I think Hiccup D Haddock would be the perfect opponent for you."
"Who?" said Toothless.
"He's that green eyes scrawny guy we met on that ship," said Tuffnut.
"He didn't look that tough," said Ruffnut.
"I'm surprised that someone like Toothless couldn't see that man strength," said the boy.
"See his strength? What do you mean?" Toothless questioned.
"I mean that Hiccup D Haddock is the son of Stoick the Vast, captain of the Hairy Hooligan Pirates. He also destroyed Arlong along with his bushmen pirate crew in the East Blue. Then in the grand line, he managed to bring down Viggo Grimborn, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea all by himself."
"Warlords of the Sea?" said Toothless.
"Yeah, and that's not all," said the boy as he rose to his feet. "On the Sky Islands, he defeated a powerful god named Enel, and after that, he went on a rampage in a Marine base. Against Hiccup, even the Marines had a throw in the towel! I've never seen another pirate like him!"
Toothless looked at him dubiously. "Don't screw with me; I'm not in the mood for any more these cotton ball stories; you got it?"
The boy then leaned in towards him. "So after hearing all that, you want to fight Hiccup, don't you?"
Toothless stared and saw the horn in the boy's arms began to glow. The twins then suddenly were not out cold, and he tried reaching for his sword suddenly found himself unable to move.
"What are you doing?" Toothless asked.
The boy merely laughed as the eye is on the horn began to turn bright red, and then there was a huge flash of light.
Hiccup and the others were following Heather towards the centre of the island. They stopped at the entrance of a dark forest, and Heather bent down towards an inscription engraved on a rock nearby.
"Is this where this weird kid lives?" Snotlout asked nervously. "This place is giving me the creeps."
"Now I see," said Heather as he translated the inscriptions.
"Found something?" Hiccup asked.
"I just determined the corporate that stole your memories. Consequently, it's not the one we thought it was."
"Wait a second, you mean it's not that little boy?" Ragnar frowned.
"Now, let's make our way to the Sea Gods Palace," said Heather and made her way into the forest.
"Sea Gods Palace?" everyone frowned.
"Okay… but why?" Hiccup asked.
"Just a hunch," Heather smiled.
