The boy that the seahorse had been controlling was rushing down towards the villagers quickly as he could.
At the village, it wasn't just the Dragon Riders who had regained their memories, but the villagers as well.
"I-I remember! I'm me! I'm me!"
"I'm myself again! I remember!"
In the inn, the receptionist looked at the manager, confused. "Uh, excuse me, sir, but aren't you one of our guests?"
"Yes, I am," he said as he rose to his feet. "So why am I dressed up like I work here?"
The real manager was actually in one of the rooms having a nice cup of tea, but then the receptionist barged in.
"Hey, the manager shouldn't be acting like a guest! Get down to the front desk!"
"So I didn't imagine it?" said the manager. "I-I'm really the manager?"
Families were now starting to reunite, and all of them were crying with joy.
"Mum! Mum! Where have you been?" said a little boy jumping into his mother's arms.
"I'm so sorry, but I'm here now,"
she said. "Are you okay?"
"Yes, our memories have finally returned!"
The boy, the seahorse, had been controlling then entered the village. "Listen, everyone! There's trouble!"
"Oh, hey, it's Grim."
"Don't scare us like that."
"It's true, it's my son," said a woman with tears in her eyes.
"Mum! Mum!" said Grim, rushing into her arms.
"I'm so glad you're safe."
"Ah, it looks like everyone's memories have finally returned."
"That wonderful."
"But what you suppose happened to us?"
Grim then looked at everyone. "Everyone, please listen to me! I saw him; the one who took our memories is in the forest!"
Upon hearing this, everyone looked absolutely terrified.
Meanwhile, Astrid and the others were now face-to-face with Toothless, who looked as if he was still being controlled by the seahorse. The seahorse was floating in the leg and began wailing.
"What did he say now?" Fishlegs asked, looking at Chopper.
"'Cut them to pieces, Toothless,' that's all," Chopper gulped.
"So you mean he's still being controlled by that thing?" said Ruffnut.
"And it looks like he took care of Hiccup as well," said Tuffnut.
"If only I had my axe," Astrid cursed.
"I'll protect you," said Snotlout raising his fists, though he looked as if he was trembling.
He then took a deep breath and charged at Toothless, raising his fist.
"Snotlout, wait!" Ragnar yelled.
The seahorse began wailing, and Chopper frowned. "'This will buy me the time I need'?"
Snotlout swung his fist at Toothless, but he merely blocked it with the flat of his blade and was pushed back only a few inches.
"What do you think you're doing?" Toothless yelled at him.
Hiccup then suddenly ran out of the woods towards them. "Is everyone all right?"
"I'm good, Hiccup," said Toothless and then his eyes turned to Snotlout. "Not sure about him, though?"
Fishlegs blinked. "Toothless? Did you just call him Hiccup?"
"So you got your memory back?" said Astrid.
"Yeah, I did just a few moments ago," said Toothless.
"Then why did you say so?" Snotlout yelled.
"Because some idiot attacked me before I had a chance to say anything," said Toothless.
"At least we're all back to normal," said Ragnar. "Or at least as normal as we get?"
Astrid looked at Heather. "Good thing you were able to deduce that seahorse was the real culprit."
"You mean to say it wasn't the boy?" said Hiccup.
"Believe me, no one was more shocked than we were," said Fishlegs.
"Speaking of which, where did that thing go?" Ragnar asked, looking at the water.
Everyone looked at the lake and saw the seahorse was gone.
"Did it escape?" Snotlout asked.
Toothless approached the lake. "No… it's obvious where it is."
The seahorse panicked, it had turned its scales to camouflage the water surface, but it still had to breathe. Everyone could see bubbles appearing in the middle of the lake and then saw a shadow swimming away.
"He's right. It just turned itself blue," said Fishlegs.
"It could have easily gotten away by now?" Ragnar frowned. "You really think it could hide from—"
"I'm gonna make that thing pay for manipulating me like that!" Toothless yelled and then dived into the water.
Everyone just watched as Toothless began swimming around to grab the seahorse.
"Boy, that thing really got to him," said Hiccup.
"To slow jerk," said Ruffnut as everyone began to snigger.
"Jerk? How about this!" said Tuffnut mimicking Toothless' voice.
"I'm over here!"
"What the hell? I'm gonna slice you to shreds!" Toothless then emerge from the water with the seahorse in his hands. "I've got you; you won't get away."
Finally, everyone can hold back and began laughing.
"The two of you are next!" Toothless yelled at them.
The seahorse and began to wail.
"'Now for my last resort,'" said Chopper as he laughed.
Upon hearing this, everyone stopped laughing and look at the seahorse, confused. Suddenly shooting out from its mouth was purple smoke, and it shot out so fast that it slipped out of Toothless' hands. Everyone watched as the seahorse floated in the air, and the purple smoke began to wrap around all of them as its eyes turned bright yellow.
They saw figures appearing within the smoke, and Astrid's eyes widened as she saw her mother stepping out of the smoke.
"No, it can't be," Fishlegs stared.
"Is that you, Bel?" Astrid asked.
Chopper then saw Doctor Olaf and began to cry. "Doctor…"
Snotlout saw Kaia. "Kaia? How is this possible?"
Toothless was completely stunned when his eyes fell upon Bladewing, and Ragnar saw a very young Zale stepping from the fog.
Hiccup saw both his father and brother. "Dad? Ace?"
"How come none of us are seeing people from our past?" Ruffnut asked.
"Perhaps it's because that we don't actually have an emotional link to anyone, I mean, we do drift from island to island, and the only ones we really have a connection to our here next to us," Tuffnut theorised.
Heather came to the same conclusion. 'These people they must be from the other's memories.'
The seahorse wailed, and then all the illusions then shot into the air and then they were replaced with villains from the past. They could see Arlong, Waplo, Hagen, Krieg, Viggo, and finally Enel; all these ghosts just spun around them.
"First friends and family, now former enemies, what the hell is going on here?" Hiccup asked.
Suddenly there was a blinding flash of light emanating from the seahorse, and all of them found themselves unable to move.
'What's going on here?' said Astrid.
'Oh no,' said Heather, not liking this one bit.
'Damnit, I can't move,' said Toothless as he struggled to move an inch.
The seahorse began to wail once again.
"What it's a now, Chopper?" Hiccup asked.
"'Thanks to the interference of you meddling pirate, I lost the memories I took from the villages,'" Chopper translated. "'The delicious memories that I gathered from you are and not for me to transform. Behold I will become…'"
"Become what?" Ragnar asked.
"I have no idea," said Chopper. The seahorse then began to glow as he began to wail once again. "'I am not going to miss this opportunity.'"
There was another blinding flash of light, and blue vapour began to exit from all of them and entered into the seahorse. It then began to grow larger until it was about 30 feet tall and floated above them like a giant balloon.
Toothless, who had been unable to move beneath the water and everyone else just stared up at the seahorse.
"What is that?" Hiccup asked, then frowned as he lifted everyone. "A-and, who am I? And who are you guys?"
All of them just looked at one another confused; the seahorse had taken every single one of their memories, so now even they didn't know who they were. Toothless now able to move shot towards the surface, but he was as lost as everyone else.
"I don't suppose you know who we are?" Hiccup asked, looking at him.
"No, and I don't know who I am either," said Toothless.
The seahorse just floated above them, wailing proudly.
"'At last I'm a dragon?'" said Chopper.
"No way," said Tuffnut looking down at Chopper.
"Awesome, you can tell that thing is saying," said Ruffnut.
"Wait, is that a talking deer?" Snotlout asked.
"I'm a deer?" Chopper blinked.
"A talking deer and the dragon and some kind of drowning reptile," said Ragnar. "What exactly is going on here?"
"I don't know, but somehow looking at that thing is pissing me off," said Toothless looking up at the seahorse.
"So none of us know who we are?" Fishlegs asked, looking at everyone.
"My mind is a complete blank, but it feels as if I've experienced this before," said Astrid stroking the back of her head.
'Strange,' said Heather looking at them all. 'What am I doing in this place?'
Hiccup folded his arms. "So none of us knows who we are, and then that dragon appeared out of thin air? Why do I get the feeling that dragon is somehow responsible for amnesia?"
"Even if it is, how do you hope to get there? It's floating like 50 feet above us?" Astrid asked.
Hiccup clenched his fist. "If only I could fly."
Then almost upon instinct, Hiccup transformed into his hybrid form, shocking everyone.
"Did he just grow wings and a tail, or is it just me?" Snotlout gulped.
"Uh, no, it's not just you," said Fishlegs.
Astrid looked at Hiccup and then to the seahorse. "You think you can fly up there?"
"Won't know until I try," said Hiccup and then flapped his wings.
He took off to the sky in just one single wing flap, and as he flew, it felt so natural to him. He then flew up towards the seahorse and grabbed its neck, and began to squeeze.
"I don't know what you are, but you're not going away," he said.
"Wow, he actually made it up there?" Snotlout stared. "What is he?"
"Some kind of monster," said Fishlegs looking terrified.
"I wish I could fly," said Tuffnut and looked around, hoping that he had transformed, but he was still human. "Huh, worth a try?"
The seahorse was having a hard time trying to keep the memories inside due to Hiccup squeezing its neck.
"Settle down, or else I'll have to get a bit rougher with you," Hiccup warned as he squeezed even harder.
The seahorse began wailing as it struggled to keep the mist from leaking out of its mouth.
"Looks like that dragon is in some sort of pain," Ragnar noted.
"With someone suffocating, I wonder why?" said Astrid.
"'Let's go I'm… losing the memories,'" Chopper translated.
"Memories?" Toothless frowned.
The blue mist then began to circle around Hiccup, and everyone on the ground looked fearful and concerned. However, Hiccup and the other hand started to remember everything and then glared at the seahorse.
"You won't stop, will you?" said Hiccup looking furious. "Quit stealing our memories!"
The seahorse continued to wail.
Hiccup looked down at Chopper. "Hey, Chopper, what is he saying?"
Chopper blinked. "Chopper? You mean me?"
"Yeah, don't worry, everything will make sense shortly," Hiccup assured him.
Chopper nodded. "'I am finally a dragon, do not try and stop me!'"
"Normally, I wouldn't stop someone chasing their dreams…" said Hiccup as he released the seahorse and flew directly above it. "…but people's memories are not something you can take! If you need some for this transformation, then go out and make some memories of your own!"
The seahorse merely wailed.
"'Silence! I have had enough of you, I'm going to end this!'" said Chopper.
The seahorse's eyes then began to glow, but Hiccup began to open his mouth. "Dragon…" He then flew at the seahorse had an astounding speed. "…Fist!"
His fist made contact with the seahorse's head, nearly knocking out cold.
"You wish to fly so bad, I'll send you flying!" Hiccup yelled and then punched the seahorse right in the stomach.
He punched it so hard that all the memories they had gathered shot out of its mouth in one go. The seahorse, now back to normal, then shot towards the sky and disappeared from sight.
Everyone on the ground and suddenly started to get their memories back, and they felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off their shoulders.
Ragnar then held out her hand to Toothless. "Come on, I think you've been in there long enough."
Heather merely smiled as Hiccup land on the ground and reverted back to his human form. It was remarkable that he could still lead everyone even when they lost their memories; he truly was a natural-born leader.
It was now late in the evening as everyone began making their way back to the village.
"My people descended from dragons, and I know very well that they are hatched you can't just become," said Toothless.
Hiccup then coughed.
"Unless they have Devil Fruit powers, of course," said Toothless, correcting himself.
"Yeah, easy memories won't do anything to change that," Ragnar nodded.
"I wonder why it was so set on becoming a dragon?" Chopper asked.
"Well, if it was me, I would want to be anything but a seahorse," said Snotlout.
"Yeah, you can fly around and breathe fire, imagine all the fun you could have," said Tuffnut.
"Of course, some of us don't have to imagine," said Ruffnut looking at Hiccup.
"Never mind that, I'm willing to bet all the villagers are clamouring to see us," said Snotlout. "After all, we are the ones that got all their memories back and saved the day. They're gonna treat us like heroes!"
"Though some of us were like the villain," said Ragnar looking at Toothless.
"How many times do I have to say that I'm sorry?" Toothless grumbled.
"At least he didn't try to steal the ship again," Astrid moaned.
Hiccup looked at them. "Look, all of us have forgotten our memories and the circumstances were rather suspicious. There's no need for anyone to feel sorry."
"But Toothless tried to kill you?" Fishlegs pointed out.
"Can we change the subject?" Toothless yelled, causing everyone to laugh.
"Well, I can see the shoreline," said Astrid.
A few moments later, they were out of the forest and made their way back into the village.
"Greetings island villages, here we are!" said Snotlout proudly.
However, they weren't exactly given a hero's welcome as all the villagers pointed their weapons directly at them.
"Them!" said Grim, pointing directly at them. "They did it!"
"Everyone attack!"
The villagers then shot them with pitchforks, rifles and cannons. Hiccup and the others then started to make a run for it with the villagers hot on their tail.
"What the heck is going on?" Chopper yelled.
"I thought you said we would be welcomed as heroes," said Tuffnut looking at Snotlout.
"We were!" Snotlout yelled, just as confused as they were. "I'm just as confused as you are!"
"Fishlegs, where's the waver? We can't leave that behind!" Ragnar yelled.
"It's over this way!" Fishlegs pointed. "I'll get it!"
"Hold it!"
"Stop right there, you filthy the pirates!"
"Memory thieves!"
"And you girl, get back and pay for your room!"
"Wait a minute, they think we stole their memories?" Hiccup blinked.
"So it would seem," said Heather.
"Well, we are pirates after all; what did you expect?" said Toothless.
They finally managed to give the villages the slip and began to set sail immediately.
"Thank goodness we made it back," said Chopper as he slumped against the mast.
"Well, I'm glad that's all over," said Snotlout. "Losing your memory sure can cause a lot of trouble."
"Got that right, including someone trying to scheme his way into making us his pirate crew," said Ragnar raising an eyebrow.
Snotlout looked rather uneasy. "Hey, I was a victim of circumstances. At least I didn't let my mind and body get taken over by a neurotic seahorse."
"What?" Toothless glared.
"He does bring up a good point," said Ragnar folding his arms. "If you hadn't fallen asleep during your watch, then this mess may not have happened in the first place."
"The twins were supposed to take over for me, remember," Toothless pointed out.
"What's done is done; let's just be grateful that everything is back to normal," said Astrid.
Heather just leaned against the side of the ship, thinking about all the memories she lost. 'My memories, if I had really lost all my memories and didn't get them back.'
"What's wrong, Heather?" Chopper asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Oh, it's nothing," she assured him and then walked off yawning. "Just a little tired, that's all."
"I bet, for heaven then get to sleep even once during that entire ordeal," said Ragnar and then began making his way to the kitchen. "I think this calls for a special recuperative dinner."
Astrid then looked at Hiccup curiously. "There's still something I don't understand, Hiccup. How can you word with Toothless by the lake?"
Hiccup rubbed his head awkwardly. "Well, I kinda got stuck underneath a boulder Toothless cut."
"Seriously?" said Astrid looking as if she was going to laugh.
Hiccup nodded. "A pretty big one too."
