Chapter 2:
History of Ancient and Noble House of Gamp

Harry cursed his fate for 10 minutes. He was angry about the strange situation. Yet he became calm after those 10 minutes. He realized he had to accept the reality now.

Harry went to Gringotts as his next step. He wanted to know more about the family of Gamp. Besides that, he had a meager amount of money. It would not last for long. If this Henry Gamp could inherit some money, it would help him.

Gringotts was similar in that world as well. Harry encountered many goblins at the entrance of it. Harry went to the reception to ask some questions.
" Good morning, sir. Can you tell me about the requirements to do an inheritance test," Harry asked politely.

The Goblin at the reception felt a little annoyed after hearing Harry's voice. Goblin liked to deal with wealthy clients. They did not like when some poor people wasted their time.

Harry was wearing modest muggle clothing. Besides that, he was a teenager. So, he replied to Harry with a question.

" What is your name, boy?" The Goblin asked a little impatiently.
" Henry Gamp '' Harry replied with curiosity in his mind. He wanted to see if the word Gamp could create some reaction in that Goblin.

That Goblin did not disappoint Harry. It looked at Harry with a newfound curiosity.
" Interesting name; you need to give 20 Galleons to do the test." The Goblin uttered.

Soon Harry went to a middle-sized room after paying 20 galleons with that Goblin. That Goblin took Harry in front of a basin and instructed him.

Harry made a minor cut on his wrist. His blood dropped in the basin. Soon, after two minutes, Goblin came with a parchment.

Harry was excited to know the details of the parchment. It would help in that strange dimension.

Harry immediately took the parchment from the hands of the Goblin to read it.

The parchment had the following details -

Harry felt shocked after reading that. He did not think Gamp's distant relatives would be Blacks. He felt strange when he thought he was now a cousin of Bellatrix and Narcissa. Yet, he comforted himself with the fact that he was also a cousin of his beloved godfather.

Harry also felt curious about the Ancient House of Sayre. So he asked the Goblin about it. The Goblin told him House of Sayre rarely gave lordship to descendants of female lines. However, the House of Sayre has been extinct in male lines for over 250 years. Thus, defendants of female lines of the House of Sayre could get lordship. But, they could not get it automatically.

According to rules, a descendant of the female line, when turned 17, had to take a Sayre family test, and if he passed the test, he could get the legacy of the House. Harry, after knowing that, thought about that matter later. Anyway, he was still 15, and he had two years to think about it.

However, his relationship with Blacks created a problem for him. He could not accept the heir ring of House Gamp now. If he did, that ministry would place him with the Blacks.

Harry felt shivered when he thought that Walbugra Black could become his magical guardian. Harry heard nothing good for that woman from his godfather.

He had only 10564 galleons in the vault. It would be enough for him for two-three years. However, if he did not accept heir ring, he had only access to 3000 galleons until he was 17.

Henry Gamp was the heir of an Ancient and Noble house. So that means he would have a seat in Wizengamot once he turned 17. Harry knew a seat in that legislative chamber was critical in a political Britain. So, it was a positive thing for him.

"Heir Gamp, you can take your lordship early. You can take it after becoming 16 years old. As you are the last alive male heir, our law permits it. " After observing Harry's peculiar behavior, the Goblin suggested.

Harry was surprised after hearing that. Even the inheritance law in that new dimension differed from his home dimension.

Harry felt somewhat relieved now. He could survive one year with 3000 galleons. He also thought of some other means to earn money. In that one year, he could observe that country. He could understand the situation and made plans for the future. He could also avoid the Blacks.

Harry soon went to the vault of House Gamp and took 3000 Galleons. He also took away a few family spelling and history books of House of Gamp.

Harry left the Gringotts after giving 30 galleons to the Goblin as a "gift ."Harry knew the goblins kept their clients a secret. However, Harry thought giving a little bribe would help more.

It had been a few hours since Harry left the premises of Gringotts. Now he was staying in a rented room of Leaky cauldron. Harry was brooding over the things that had happened since morning. First, Harry was surprised after learning of his relationship with the House of Black.

Harry had a dislike for Bellatrix, Narcissa, and Walbugra. However, he preserved his final judgment until he met them in this world. The new world differed from his homeworld. Thus, people's character may also differ from their homeworld.

Harry liked being cousins to Sirius and Andromea. He was hoping that they would remain good in that new world also.

Harry also learned about House of Gamp. After knowing that he was heir designate to the House of Gamp, he decided to investigate the history of the House of Gamp.

Thus, he bought some books regarding the history of wizarding families in the UK. The history of an Ancient and Noble House like Gamp was vast. However, Harry learned a few basic facts about this House of Gamp.

House of Gamp was an ancient and noble house in the UK. It was an old house but not older than House of Black. That was why House of Black was the Most Ancient and Noble House, and House of Gamp was the only Ancient and Noble House.

The House of Gamp had a somewhat glorious history of six hundred years. The most famous man in the history of House of Gamp was Ullick Gamp. He was the minister of the magic of the UK during 1707-1718. It was under his regime the Auror force was established.

One thing Harry liked about that man was his character. Even though Ullick Gamp was a traditionalist for wizarding culture. He was not hostile to Muggle Borns. He even invented the word new blood to describe the muggle-borns. He tried to integrate them into the wizarding culture.

The second famous man in the House of Gamp was Augustan Gamp I. He invented well-known rules of Transfiguration. Harry realized that was the reason the name Gamp seemed familiar to him. Like any other Hogwarts student, Harry studied Gamp's Law of Transfiguration. Augustan was a peerless genius in Transfiguration. He took Transfiguration as an art at a new height.

Harry also discovered how he was related to House of Black. Henry Gamp's great grandfather Antonion Gamp was the brother of Ma Hrcella Black nee Gamp. Harry's great-grandfather was the youngest of the three siblings. Antonion Gamp had an elder brother named Richard Gamp.

Harcella Black nee Gamp married Sirius Black II. Sirius Black II was the father of Archorus Black, the current lord of House of Black. Thus, Harcella Black, nee Gamp, was the great grandmother of Sirius, Regulius.

Harry's great grandfather Antonion Gamp was not a bright student initially. In comparison, his elder brother Richard was the shining star.

Even the father of Richard and Antonion were partial to Richard. However, everyone thought it was only average.
On the one hand, Richard was a brilliant wizard. He was also the heir to House Gamp as the eldest son.

On the other hand, Antonion was an above-average student at Hogwarts. He was introverted. Besides that, he was the youngest of three siblings. Thus, he had not had much value for his father to continue his family legacy.

After Antonion's sister Harcella got married to the House of Black. Antonion's father strengthened his family's tie with the House of Black. He proposed a marriage contract for his elder son Richard with Olivia Black.

Olivia Black was the first cousin of Sirius Black II( husband of Harcella Black nee Gamp). She was the aunt of Pollux Black. Thus she was the great grand aunt of Bellatrix, Narcissa, Andomea

She was beautiful. Everyone thought it was a perfect match. But, Olivia did not think so. Richard was a brilliant wizard, but he was also a womanizer. He also had some other bad habits. Thus, she did not like him personally.
The Magical society of the UK was very much forgivable towards a magically powerful pureblood heir, even though he had some bad habits. Thus, Richard was the blue-eyed boy to his father and family at large.

Therefore, House of Gamp and House of Black decided the marriage of Richard and Olivia. It was totally unacceptable to Antonion. Olivia was his love of life. His source of inspiration. His father always neglected Antonion. He always got one-third of the facility of Richard from their father. However, Antonion was not ready to sacrifice his love for his father's political game.
Besides, Antonion knew about his eldest brother's character flaw as a brother. Thus, he vehemently opposed this marriage.

Antonion's father disregards Antonion's opposition. For Antonion's father, politics comes ahead of his youngest son's happiness.

Olivia also opposed this marriage. From the early days of Hogwarts, Olivia liked Antonion. Antonion was very handsome compared to his elder brother. However, Olivia liked Antonion mainly for his calm personality and uprightness. Therefore, she did not agree to marry Richard.

House of Black also completely disregarded her opinion in favor of politics.

So, one fine morning, Antonion and Olivia said goodbye to the magical UK and went to Australia. Antonion Gamp later established himself as the famous ancient runemaster in Australia.

House of Black and House of Gamp both are displeased initially. Both of them expelled Antonion and Olivia from their respective families.

But, soon, Richard's flaw gets totally exposed before their families.

Richard Gamp was soon caught red-handed by Aurors when he tried to sexually assault a minor pureblood girl from a prominent wizarding family. Naturally, it brought great shame for House of Gamp. The old Lord Gamp can't do anything to prevent his son's punishment.
Richard Gamp got convicted by wizengamot. So, he spent the rest of his life in Azkaban.

House of Black felt they dodged a bullet by luck. If Richard became the son-in-law of House of Black and then convicted by wizengamot, it would put that influential House of Black into an embarrassing situation. So, they quietly restored Olivia Black into the family. Since Olivia Black had already eloped with the younger son of House of Gamp into Australia. Thus, it had no practical effect on her.

Lord Gamp felt the extinction crisis of his Noble and Ancient House. Richard would spend the rest of his life in Azkaban. Thus, he could not carry the line of Gamp.

Since he was still the current heir to House of Gamp, Harry realized that it could only mean one thing. Lord Gamp, probably to prevent the extinction of House of Gamp in male lineage, again restored his youngest son into his family and appointed him as the heir. He also probably informed no one about this. So, everyone still thought that Antonion Gamp was expelled from the House of Gamp.

Lord Gamp probably tried to bring his youngest son back to the UK. However, Antonion Gamp never returned to the UK. So, Harry thought that Lord Gamp's attempt failed.

Lord Gamp died alone. Before his death, the clever Lord Gamp amended the lordship rule of the House of Gamp. According to the new law, the lordship of the House of Gamp can only be got through male lines.
So, no descendants of House of Gamp of female lines would become Lord Gamp.

Because of this situation, after the death of Lord Gamp, no new Lord Gamp appeared. So, everyone still thought that the House of Gamp was extinct.

Harry was fascinated after reading the history of Noble and the Ancient House of Gamp. He liked his ancestors like Ullick Gamp Antonion Gamp.
Harry also liked that everyone thought that House of Gamp was extinct. So, he could hide for one year and make himself prepare for upcoming fights.

Harry looked at the window of his room. The moon in the sky appeared in its full glory. The moon was the same as his home universe. But, the people in this alternative universe are not the same as his home universe. In that situation, he needed to thoroughly know the people of this new universe. However, Harry had confidence in himself to do that. He arrived in that universe unknowingly, but he would write his destiny in the alternative universe with his own hand.
