Lael revealed himself to be a Zoan Type Devil Fruit user, and he had just transformed into his hybrid form. He had taken on the form of a leopard and was easily three times as big with a long tail and razor-sharp claws and fangs.
"Cat-Cat Fruit: Leopard Model," said Lael.
"A human leopard," said Toothless.
"He's huge," said Hiccup.
"That would be so cool if it wasn't so terrifying," said Ruffnut.
"Yeah, I think I just wet myself," said Tuffnut.
"What's going on here?" said Palmer looking at him. "What the hell are you?"
Outside, the building was now set ablaze, and the shipwrights were trying to put out the fire.
"Fire!"
"Emergency! Everybody, wake up!"
"Damn them, those pirates started this, didn't they?"
"We need to do something and quick. There still a lot of people left inside."
"Iceberg might be trapped. Let's make sure he made it out!"
"Right, come on!"
Some of the shipwrights then immediately began making their way upstairs to the third floor.
"The rest of you try and find out that fire! Go, go, go!"
Upstairs everyone was still utterly terrified by Lael's sudden transformation, but they can smell the smoke pouring into the room.
"It would seem as if the fire is beginning to spread," said Lael.
Palmer clenched his fist and then rose to his feet. "Leopard… Human… Whatever the hell you are, you're not gonna lay one finger on Iceberg! You hear me!"
"No, he's a carnivore Zoan Type; they are the most brutal of them all," said Chopper, utterly terrified.
"Indeed… Logia Types… Zoan Types… Paramecia Types… each one extremely powerful in their own unique way," said Lael. "The ability to enhance one's personal strength happens to be the speciality of the Zoan Type. In other words, the more we train, the stronger we get, which your captain can easily testify. Which makes the Zoan Type the mostly lethal when it comes to attacks from close range."
"Shut the hell up," said Palmer. "Nobody here gives a damn about what monster can do what."
"Just as well, we're running out of time. Before the flames engulf this place, we need to make sure that all of you are probably disposed of."
It was then that they heard footsteps coming down from the corridor, no doubt the shipwrights trying to find survivors.
"Iceberg!"
"Go, move it!"
"Lael, the workmen making their way upstairs," said Kala.
"Don't worry, they'll never make it this far," Lael assured her and then raised his leg. "Tempest Kick!"
He then swung his leg with all his might edit slashed right through the ceiling, and kept on going until it reached the other side of the building. As a result, the ceiling began to cave in, right on top of the shipwrights.
"Go back; the ceiling is collapsing!"
It wasn't just on the corridor as the ceiling began to collapse within Iceberg's room right on top of Astrid and the twins.
"The ceiling is collapsing!" Tuffnut yelled.
"Get down!" Ruffnut yelled as the ceiling collapsed on top of them.
"Astrid!" Chopper yelled and quickly shut out of the way.
Astrid was knocked to safety, but Chopper and the twins were completely buried in the rubble.
"Guys!" Astrid yelled, looking at the rubble.
Palmer used this opportunity to get to Iceberg and quickly helped him up.
"What are you doing?" said Iceberg.
"No matter what, I'm getting you out of here," said Palmer.
"There's no way you can move; you're far too—"
Palmer ignored him and lifted him up, but CP9 stood in their way.
"I'm afraid we can't let you do that," said Kala.
"And I'm afraid you're going to have to," said Palmer. "Step aside! Get out of my way!" However, he knew full well that there was no way he could escape. Damn you! Why did it have to be you guys! No, I can't believe you! How could you do this? You tricked me; I thought you were my friends!"
"Then you were mistaken," said Lael as the other members of CP9 stepped aside and allowed him to approach them.
He then raised his claw and was about to strike, but then Hiccup shot out of nowhere and punched him right in the face.
Palmer stared at him. "Hiccup, what are you—?"
Hiccup was about to strike again, but Lael recovered from the blow, and with his razor-sharp claw, he was able to puncture right through his chest.
"Finger Pistol!" he said.
"Hiccup!" Astrid screamed.
Hiccup looked as if he was in a state of shock, unable to move, and then Lael pulled his clawback. Hiccup felt the ground and miraculously managed to stay on his feet, though barely. Lael then licked the blood off his finger and then grabbed his head. He then lifted him up and then tossed him right through the wall.
"Have a nice flight," he said, putting as much strength into the throw as was possible.
Hiccup went straight through the wall and kept on going until he disappeared from view.
"Hiccup!" Astrid screamed.
"Damn you," said Toothless and charged at him.
"Iron Body!" said Lael.
Toothless drew Moonlit and slammed the blade at Lael, but he was able to block it with his forearm without getting so much as a scratch. He then spun around and kicked Toothless in the chest with so much force that he dropped his sword and then send him flying through the ceiling, and he disappeared just like Hiccup.
"Toothless!" Astrid screamed.
Lael then turned towards Astrid, who stood there with battleaxe in hand.
"Now it's your turn," he said.
The shipwrights were still trying to put out the fire, but it was completely out of control. From on top of one of the buildings, Coco could see the blaze.
"Granny! Granny! There's a huge fire!" Chimney yelled from the top of the flagpole.
"It's Galley Law's main office," she said. "Such a terrible thing to do."
Chimney then slid down the flagpole. "What do you mean, Granny? Did someone start the fire on purpose?"
"Well, I can't really say for sure, but usually, when I get a bad feeling turns out to be right," she said. "I sure hope that Iceberg is doing okay. Seriously all this is happening over that thing; it shouldn't even exist."
CP9 were now standing outside, observing the main office burning to the ground. All of them had gotten rid of their costumes and were wearing black suits. Iceberg and Palmer were unconscious were tied together with the flames getting closer and closer.
"The testimony of a pirate won't hold up as evidence," said Lael. "This case will remain a mystery. Iceberg, no matter how great of the shipbuilding engineer you are, no matter how great a mayor, a mere individual citizen should oppose the World Government. Let's go; we need to find Tom's other apprentice Eret or rather Eric Earlson, and take those blueprints away from him."
The shipwrights were still trying to get the fire under control, though it was a losing battle.
"Did everyone get out?"
"It's taken the building; we can't go back inside! Have each team check to see if anyone is missing!"
"Hey, have you heard anything about Iceberg? Is he safe?"
"Don't tell me that he still stuck in there, is he?"
"Of course not, the foreman with him. There's no way they left him behind. Search the area. I'm sure he's here somewhere."
The shipwrights then began checking to see who was missing, but they had another issue to contend with. Astrid had jumped out of the window instead of fighting and now was lying on the ground unconscious.
"Hey, wait. That woman is one of the Dragon Riders; I'm sure that she's Valkyrie Astrid."
"Did she jump out from one of the windows?"
"She probably got trapped by the fire and didn't have any other choice in the matter."
"Well, what should we do with her?"
"These damn pirates have done a terrible thing here. Let's make her tell with the rest of the crew is. We will hunt them down and tell them over to the Navy!"
CP9 were now beginning to hunt for Eret; they used their Moonwalk to jump across the rooftops.
"You're sure of it?" said Lael looking at Burl. "You saw Eret wandering into your bar earlier?"
"Yeah, I spoke to him, but he took off to go looking for Dragon," said Burl.
"I see; it seems like he doesn't stay in one place for very long."
"Whoa, some people just have the worst sense of timing," said Silvernose, and then he noticed something below them. "Look at there."
Below them, they could see some members of the Eret Family in the street, and they were yelling.
"Listen up, Dragon Conqueror! We've got black hair!"
"That's right, we totally have him!"
"If you don't want him to sing in the king of sea—"
"You idiot! How many times do I have to tell you? It's if you don't want to sink him into the sea!"
"Drink some ice tea?"
"Sea! Are you deaf? What kind of threat is if it doesn't make any sense?"
"Whatever, all that matters is getting the message to Dragon Conqueror!"
"Giving him that stupid message won't do a good."
"And Bro Eret will end up kicking your butt."
"If you don't want to see him sinking to the bottom of the sea, go to the warehouse under the bridge! With regards, Eret!" Teeny yelled and then looked back at the others. "Like that! If he does get the message and does come, bro is going to beat the living crap out of him."
They then laughed.
It was then that Lael landed on the ground, but they cover their faces in masks to hide their identity.
"Who did you say was waiting for whom?" Lael asked. "Where is this certain someone waiting?"
"Who the hell are you?" said Teeny. "We're kinda busy right now; get lost!"
"If you want to live, you'll answer my question in the next three seconds," Lael warned.
"Huh?" said Teeny.
"Is that some kind of joke, you nut job?"
"Do you even have the slightest clue to what family we're a part of?"
"What did you mean by the warehouse under the bridge?" Lael pushed, ignoring them. "Is that the place where Eret is?"
Teeny merely smiled. "Whatever business you have with Eret is going to have to go through us first. Right guys?"
With that, all of them charge that Lael.
At the same time, Snotlout and just explaining everything that happened in the past few days to Eret as he continued working on the Tiger. They were currently in a warehouse located on one of the large bridges that connected the city to the docks.
The twins were crying their eyes out upon hearing the tale.
"You left the friend you are travelling with all the way from the East Blue with your ship?" Kalena cried.
"I don't see why you guys have to cry about it?" Snotlout huffed.
"Come on, man, can you blame them? It's a heartbreaking tale," said Eret looking a little teary-eyed himself. "Even I feel a little teary-eyed after hearing everything you've been through to protect that ship all alone."
"What the heck is wrong with these nitwits?" Snotlout grumbled as he continued working. "Anyway, you get the gist of it, right? We're no longer friends, the Dragon Riders a part of my past now."
"Is guess that puts a wrench in my plan," Eret sighed as he leaned back on the sofa.
"Are you calling me a tool?" Snotlout glared.
"No, but it makes me think what your purposes after that sorry display you show at my house."
"Are you making fun of me!"
After the drama, the twins had gone into the kitchen to get some food.
"Is that tea ready yet?" Eret asked.
"Almost, we'll bring it over in just a moment," they said.
"Guess I better come up with a new plan to settle the score with Dragon," Eret sighed.
The twins then returned with the tray of tea.
"Here you go, bro," said Kalena handing him a cup. "Now be careful it's really hot."
"Thank you so much," Eret smiled and blew the tea to colour down before drinking it.
"Why don't you take a break and have some tears well?" Kaley offered.
Snotlout narrowed his eyes and continue to hammer away.
"I can't blame you," said Eret putting the cup down. "You must be holding quite a grudge against us. You know, since we stole your 200 million Gil and all. Especially since it led to a big fight with your captain."
"Whatever," said Snotlout. "What happens happens; no sense holding a grudge about it."
"Taking the high road, how manly," said Eret. "Then I have the unfortunate news to tell you that I spend all that money."
Snotlout glared at him. "I'm going to knock you flat."
"Don't get so worked up, especially after you showed me how dignified and forgiving you are. Come on, can't we just let bygones be bygones? I mean, I haven't flipped out on you for destroying my home and demolition factory, have I? Though beating of my subordinates might be crossing the line a bit."
Snotlout just stood there thinking about the last time he met Hiccup.
"A lot has happened over these past few days, but I do think we're better off putting it all behind us. So what you say that we bury the hatchet and call it a day? So what your plans after this? What are you going to do now that you're on your own? It doesn't seem like you have anywhere to go. If you got no place ago, you could easily join my crew, you seem like a good man, and I could—"
"Forget it, I have no plans for being a ship dismantle," Snotlout huffed. "Even though I'm no longer Dragon Rider, I'm still a pirate, got it!"
"Look just concerned, that all," said Eret. "I'm thinking about your future."
"My future is none of your business," said Snotlout putting his hammer down. "Besides, isn't the other thing you should be concerned with right now? Like a huge storm heading this way."
"True," said Eret as he took another sip of tea. "But we're safe here. Aqua Laguna can be pretty devastating; when it hit, we all have to pull together. Starting now until late into the night, houses will be submerged up to the second floor. If you're stuck in the back streets or in the caves during that time, you don't stand a chance, but this area is safe. Your ship will be safe too if you want to keep it here."
"Oh, thank you very much," said Snotlout. "I really appreciate—"
"Stop acting like we're strangers!" Eret snapped.
"I'm taking the guess that it must be tough to deal with this storm and chaos it causes every year."
Eret shrugged and put his cup down. "Nah, it's not so bad. We've all gotten used to the annual evacuation. The real problem is the water level, it increases little by little every single year. The backstreet you see all through Water 7 are built on the rooftops of an old town that existed several hundred years ago. It is said of all the shipbuilding island, and the backstreet used to be part of the same piece of land, but now so much of it has sunk under the sea. That's why they're calling as a floating city; all the sidewalks became canals and waterways."
"If you want to be more precise about it, technically, rather than saying that the water level is increasing, the foundation of the island is actually sinking," Kalena explained.
"If it keeps up, the city will become harder and harder to live in," said Kaley.
"I see, even this beautiful city of water has its share of hardships too, doesn't it?" said Snotlout starting to understand the situation. "But still with if push comes to shove, you can just take the sea train and go live somewhere else, right?"
"You could say that now, but not always," said Eret. "It's only been around for 10 years; before that time, you were totally out of luck. Getting across the ocean without it is no easy task, even if you have a boat."
Snotlout looked at him, confused.
"This island is isolated; there was never much traffic to or from it. The people that lived here carried the looming fear that someday this entire city and everything around it would sink into the sea. It became hopeless; the one thing that finally took away that fear was the sea train the Puffing Tom."
"Now anyone anytime can travel across the sea without a log pose," said Kalena. "This was a huge step for the island."
"Wow, I had no idea," said Snotlout. "That's sea train is really incredible. Hiccup would cut off his own leg to meet the inventor."
"It was like water 7 had been reborn," Eret smiled. "And we owe everything to one man… a brilliant shit right named Tom who created a sea train. He saved us all, and he gave this island new life."
Elsewhere, Lael had quickly dispatched the Eret Family, and Teeny was running for his life.
"Bro!" Teeny cried. However, Lael had quickly caught up to him and pierced him in the back with his Finger Pistol. "Help me…"
He then collapsed.
"I'll say hello to your Bro for you when we pay him a visit," said Lael.
During the little scuffle, Lael had managed to extract the location of Eret de quickly tossed his mask aside to join up with the other members of CP9.
"We now know the location," he said, looking at them. "Let's go."
With that, the four of them took to the sky began making their way towards the warehouse. Leaving behind the Eret Family on the ground in their own blood.
